Woke up this morning, checked email, saw an email from my DU Agent Tricia. She got and applied AP code while I was sleeping!

What a nice thing to wake up to. We were booked at AAA rate, just saved another $114.

Nowhere near as sweet as the postcard rate of $79 per night we got last fall, but I will take it. When I add in the DDE savings we will get for two trips this year, our AP was a very good investment.

Does anyone know if they take calls in order received or is it random? If there is no "cue" for calls and it's random, maybe it would be better just to keep hanging up and calling back, rather than sitting on hold??

I am dealing with such amateurs at my house. I had my sister calling because i was trying to get CRT for my niece's B-day. GOT IT, YEAH!!! but anyway she got through several times but when it said to call back between 1 & 8 she hung up. Then got "all circuits are busy." Now on hold.

Did you hurt her when she hung up :rotfl:

Just kidding. That risk would be too great for my liking on the job.

The rates aren't as good as last year. I read the post on the other board by someone "in the know" or so it seems that WDW decided to release rates rather than none, but not as big of a discount. I saved $1000. I'll take it.

I crunched the numbers and getting an AP rate would ultimately cost us $82 more than the AAA rate I currently have (due to added expensve of purchasing 1 AP). Looks like the discounts are better on the deluxes than value. Good luck everyone! Hope you get what you want!!!

This is what I get for not reading the board before I go to bed. Last I had read the talk was that the code might be coming out on Sunday. I decided to check the board this morning just in case, and what do you know. So I didn't call until 7:30 their time. I hope there are still rooms available when I get through. I have been on 18 minutes and counting. Time to give DH the phone and start getting ready for work.

I hung up on my cell phone (while still on hold with my home phone) and got thru on my cell phone after 14 min. That just seems crazy to me, wouldn't it seem like they would answer in order of call received. Anyway I am done now, did get GF garden for $294 a night April 21-25. Good luck to those on hold, if you had 2 phones maybe hang up and try again, I would still stay on hold with the one phone.

I held for around 31 minutes, talked to a wonderful CM named Monroe for another 25 minutes. Had to cancel my 1st ressie, change resorts, but I finally got a room in POR for $109/night.
No standard rooms at Ap rate at CSR were left when I tried.

I am very happy even though the savings are not as big as I hoped...I finally got a very nice, courteous, funny, and very helpful CM!!!

We began calling (using two land lines) at 6:57 a.m.--got through at exactly 7:00 a.m. and were both promptly queued to hold. DISDiscountman (my husband) was answered before me (I was still on hold even though my call went through first  ) after a 25 minute wait!

Unlike last year, we were (or I should say HE--he wanted full credit  ) was successful! AP rate was available for our GVC stay at Polynesian 6/11-19/05! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Last year we were blessed with a DVISA discount, but were shut out of an AP by 7:10 a.m.! The difference was only $5 p/night, but still--I felt the AP wasn't as "valuable". This year, I'm glad I renewed! :Pinkbounc

The rate is more this year than last, but rack rates are more this year than last. The discount for AP last year was 26%--this year a flat $100 off of rack (pre-tax). In our case the rack rate was $455 p/n ($509.60 w/tax) less the AP discount ($100 p/n) = $355 p/n ($397.60 w/tax). Rack rate for this room last year was $440 p/n pre-tax ($490 w/tax). The AP rate last year was $325 p/n pre-tax ($364 w/tax). As you can see, the AP was a better discount last year!

In any event, we are happy to snag a rate this year! Now, I'm thinking of adding a night on the front end of the vacation. Currently we have a great postcard rate at CBR for the first and last nights (arrival/departure). We're considering dropping the CBR first night and just heading to Polynesian. I guess we'll leave it up to fate (or CRO), IF we can add a night at AP, then so be it--IF NOT, I guess we'll be at CBR!

Good luck to everyone else!

Got thru with the 407 number just after 7am but put on hold. After 40min decided to go thru the 800# and save the money. Was on hold over 40min again when cordless started beeping low battery. Turned on speaker phone and hung up cordless but lost the connection :sad2: . I can't believe I have to start over.

If I had waited that long and they told me to call back because the system was down I think I would go nuts. They should be taking numbers and calling people back on their dime not ours.

My battery made it after 98 minutes on hold. She checked to apply to our existing at CSR and found that because we have a special request room due to my husbands disability that she would have to call them. She then said that they would be put me on a waiting list. I asked if they had any discount rooms at CSR she said yes for $109, I told her I would assist my husband into the shower and that I would bring a shower chair with me unassembled so book the reservation 06/07 to 06/16. She then had to call "Special Requests" to cancel but I was on hold again for so long. She got back to me and said they could apply the AP rate to my original reservation!

Next mile-stone, general discount codes. Even though I have an AP have to see by crunching the numbers what will be best.

Hang in there everyone.

Then I asked her if she could just put in June 25-July 4th because I knew that the discount was only till July 4th. When she did that she got it. The CM goes, "Wow, you AP holders know more about this stuff than we do!" So she had to split my ressie:

June 25-July 4th--2rooms/Preferred/Pop--$1726.00
July4th-July 6--2rooms/Preferred/Pop--$495.06

So it works out to be $95.90 (with tax included, per room, per night) versus original ressie of $123.76. One phone call and I saved $500.00!!!
My hubbie is pretty pleased with me this morning.

Anyone know the tax rate for Pop? is it 11.5%?
Hope all of you get your discounts!! :wizard:

Got thru with the 407 number just after 7am but put on hold. After 40min decided to go thru the 800# and save the money. Was on hold over 40min again when cordless started beeping low battery. Turned on speaker phone and hung up cordless but lost the connection :sad2: . I can't believe I have to start over.

If I had waited that long and they told me to call back because the system was down I think I would go nuts. They should be taking numbers and calling people back on their dime not ours.

This is down right crazy. There has to be a better system than this! I guess I'll try my cell while I drive the kids to school. If I get shut out I will be very unhappy

Started at 6:55 been on hold over 90 minutes on one line and keep trying on my 2nd line waiting 20-30 minutes then hanging up and trying again. Good thing DH & DD are sick otherwise there is no way in the world I could do this :teeth: only kidding. I'd be getting DD off to school and DH would need phone for work. Been quietly lurking & waiting for codes also. Thought I'd join in on the code watch. Thank goodness kids are quietly playing and not whining about breakfast yet. After 100 minutes CM answered my 6:55 phone call got POFQ first week in June at AP $121 with tax. $20 cheaper per night than with my AAA rate. :flower: :goodvibes :cloud9: Thanks DIS boards!Guess I better feed the little rascals now.

Well, after 1 hour and 25 minutes, I got what I wanted. Poly, garden view, July 2nd-8th. Now, the rate is good the whole time even though you had to book by the 4th. I'm hoping that there is another AP rate after the 4th. Since it changes to value season then, what are the chances that I will get a better AP rate starting on the 5th?? Anyone venture a guess? Oh well, $254 a night isn't too bad. Thanks all. I'm glad I checked the boards this morning. Hope you all get what you want.

My advice - HANG UP AND CALL BACK!!! I was on hold on 2 phones for over 1 hour, I finally decided to hang up on one and call back, when I did after entering my ressie # and number of stays it rang immediately. I got a Savannah view room at AKL for 6/12-6/18 for $219.00 per night, I was booked at $357.00 per night! If AP rates come out for July 5th on, in all likelihood, that rate will be better than what you currently have.

I had the same scenario - arriving on 4/16, so had the winter resort AP rate (ending 4/16) applied to my entire ressie - this was peak season. I was getting AKL standard for $156/night. My TA was able to split my ressie this morning - one night on 4/16 at the old rate, and the other 6 nights on the new AP rate of $139/night. I saved $114 this morning - I'll take it!

Good luck everyone!!

Nice CM....but I can tell why the waits are so long. Besides the normal speech about Cirque and dining PS's, she was chatting with me about these boards, SW Weekends, NYC, airports etc. I wanted to tell her she was wasting my cell phone minutes but I held back! :)

I sat on the phone last night for 30 minutes to see if maybe I had a code...which I didn't. Anyway, we can only stay at POR in AB because of our size and budget...they didn't have ANY availability. :sad2: He tried to get me to book 2 rooms at FQ instead. Yeah...like I am going to pay for a room we don't use. I mean really would anyone put their children who are 4 and under in a seperate room? So DH and I decided we would postpone until Sept. which is when we usually go...less expensive and less crowded. The reason we didnt want to wait until then is because our APs expire on Sept. 16 and we had to postpone our trip last year 2X because of the hurricanes. I didn't want to wait and then miss out because of a hurricane and our APs expire. But DH said if that happens we will renew them. YAY! So now I don't have to stress about these stupid codes anymore...although it figures they come out today after we decide to wait.

He also said we could go up for the day a few times between now and then and even a weekend. He's the BEST! :teeth:

I heard from my TA, Kerri, this morning. I think it was around 9:00 or so. In fact, I didn't even know codes were out. Her call was my first clue. Now I have to decide whether or not to buy an AP. There's huge doubt where a general code will appear, so I might just go for it. After all, if you spend $50 on the dining discount, you get 20% off your food. That with the room discount will save us quite a bit. Especially when, without the dining discount, we'll be saving $400 with the AP purchase.

Does anyone have the # for Small World Vacations? I looked in my web mail account with comcast, where I had saved the original email from a TA, but it has been purged! YAAARGGHHH!!! Should have forwarded it to my Yahoo email account! :badpc:

I thought I read somewhere on the DIS that the AP rates would come out on the 9th, and they did. I also thought that I read that the general rates would come out on the 16th.
So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Note that AP rates came out on March 9, 2004 and on March 9, 2005. Do I detect a trend? (Is it creepy that I remember about 2004? I actually put the March 9th date on my Palm Pilot for 2004 when they came out in 2005 because I knew we'd be planning this trip.)

Try every resort in your price range...you may get to try something new and fun. Do you have ressies already? If you have standard view and they are sold out of that, you may be able to get the upgrade at AP for no more than you are paying now. I was on the phone at 5:59 am Dallas time...done by 6:20.

Thanks, missypie. I also had the 800-828-0228. That is Disney Travel Co. I usually don't use that number because you used to have to pay in full before the 45 day mark and there were refund restrictions. I don't know if they still apply. I will use it for things like PS's because I already have committed to the trip and feel like I am making an additional monitary committment to my trip...adding to WDW's coffers if you will.

Yesterday would have been a good day for a toll free number. I was a total of 45 minutes on the phone! I had to use my cell phone since I called from my office and glad I had a full charge...I was afraid to wait 'til I got home after I checked the Diz at the end of the day and saw all of the post about the difficulty everyone was having getting their dates.

BTW, I was able to get pool view for $165/night. for 6/4-6/11. That is $101/night savings!

OK, here is something that you should know. CRO was having big problems booking 3 nights at the AP rate. If you have been trying to get three nights and it won't go through, book it for more nights and then drop off the extra ones. I had to do this for a client yesterday.

I think I read on this thread somewhere that someone else had a problem booking an AP rate past the 7/4 end date. They split their ressie and got the discount on the first part of their trip and then will try again for the end when the new set of discounts come out for dates past 7/4.

I've also read a number of times to have CRO check each date seperately just in case there is only a day or two on either end that might not be available.

Best of luck, I hope you can find some discount.

Although you do get an announcement welcoming you to the Disney Travel Company when you use this 800#, payment in full has not been required when I've used the number to make reservations over the last year or two. FWIW, I had originally booked Pop with a AAA rate for May and it was about $84 a night. When the AP codes came out this week, I noticed with the AP code I would have only saved about $10 a night. I don't know how much better a general code would have been.

You can book a room only with the WDTC and not need the $200 deposit and full payment within 45 days.

I just booked CBR at AP rate thru WDTC (using the 800 number). Got $125 a night for a king room, June 27 and 28.

I was told that I needed to pay for the first night within 14 days and that if I needed to cancel, I needed to cancel before 5 days to get a full refund. Full amount due on checkin.

These are the same policies as CRO. When you call WDTC you need to state that you want a room only ressie and you will not be subject to the package requirements.

Now I won't have to use up my cell phone minutes to make my ressies anymore! :goodvibes I'm glad they do this now since Disney pays a per call fee and not a per minute fee for the calls like we have to when we are on long term hold. I wouldn't mind paying a per call fee myself, but the when you can be on hold for up to 10 minutes or more just to make the reservation, it can get pricey when you are paying by the minute.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel(Palm Beach County edition)ran an ad for the new 4/17-7/4 Florida resident rate for the first time in this Sundays paper, local section. I know the CMs tell people to check travel section, but in the Sun-Sentinel their ads are usually in the local sectiion,B. The ad was cut in half, one side showing Value resort rate of $74,the other side showing that if you buy park tickets and stay at a Disney resort you get extra magic hours.I think the reason they are discounting rooms less and tickets more is because people have been staying at the resorts, but not going to the parks.Even on their website in the Fl resident section, the new rate is listed under something like "Extra Magis Hours",you don't see the discount rate until you click on it.

Just thought I'd share with y'all! I had made reservations for my DS to go in February on his spring break from college. I have lots of problems with my mail so I asked about any PINs with my name. He looked for me, and it took quite sometime, but found I did have a PIN. He needed my 3 letter code, which I didn't have because of my mail problems. I explained this again and he said if I could hold, and it could take a long time! :hourglass , he was going to check with guest services for me. He came back with a good deal for me!

I was so excited :cool1: I never thought to ask him what the PIN and Code was in case I wanted to use it again! :sad2:

Well, I called yesterday because DH and I are thinking of going in June for our anniversary . I told them the situation again and how I didn't get the information on my last call for my son. This CM was just as nice and said in order for me to get it I was going to have to hold again :rolleyes1 for the guest services..which I did. She was wonderful and very helpful. My only problem was my code and PIN expired the end of April!

I expressed my sadness because we were only going to be able to come down for a weekend because finances were tight right now (I'm recovering from a long hospitalization and housebound illness:sick: ) and was so looking forward to getting out! I thanked her and then asked if she could please check my information to make sure it was all correct. My email address was wrong! I have changed my profile on Disney.com and rechecked it, but they still didn't have it at 407-W-Disney! :badpc: I couldn't believe it. She went ahead and changed it for me and then she told me that she could check to see if my PIN and Code would carry over for my June date if I wanted. She said there were no guarantees, but she could give it a try. ::yes::

I was on hold again for quite sometime :crazy2: and when she came back on she said she had great news! I could use it for the dates I had given her! :worship: She said it doesn't always happen like that but they do make exceptions sometimes and with my "record"? (I don't know what that is) they could do it this one time! :cheer2:

Now I have to convince the doc and my DH that I'll be ok to travel! :goodvibes Finally something good to look forward too! :Pinkbounc :rotfl:

I'm giving up on the general public codes watch. We figured out a way to buy one AP and make it work out financially where we can save some money by buying the DDE with it. A general code would probably not help at this point. I'm not buying the AP yet though, and still hold a small glimmer of hope that I'll receive an e-mail offer. That would make us refigure things to see which is better. Good luck everyone!

Your reasoning sounds exactly like mine, down to the DDE. I'm waiting still too. I may even purchase my AP at the Orlando airport so that I have an activated pass. I won't have any worries then when we check in.

If you want the DDE card for your trip you may need to order the voucher before hand since the DDE office is only open M-F 9-5 pm and the hold times can be long. They will ask for the numbers off the back of the voucher. Just a thought.

I am doing the same thing...AP Rate and DDE Card.

Question about codes. If the code expires on July 3 and you check in on July 2 do you get your whole stay at the lower rate? I remember last year the code I used started on our 3rd night so we checked in/out to get the better rate for the remainder of our stay.

Am I correct?

You get your whole stay at the rate you checked in on July 2, but you can only book up to 10 nights with that code.

In the beginning of this post...

Someone said the codes come out around Easter, I hope they're right :teeth: that would mean that they are due very very soon!

How were you able to check the VISA? Their site says they are preforming a system maintenance & won't be up until 10:00am..................MAybe they are updating with some really great deals! :cheer2:

Can someone tell me what is the URL for the Disney Visa web site? I can't find a link to anything other than the card application, and I've done several internet searches. I assume that the URL is listed on the billing statement, but I haven't received my first bill yet. Thanks! :flower:

 Hi!

I have a coworker going in June, I'm checking codes for him...I hope the codes didn't stop :sad2: I'm kinda worried since nothing has come out yet :guilty:

He has AAA, which gets him 15% off, but the taxes at AS are 13%...

Betsy:

Did you call in to see if your name has a pin code attached to it?

...when you call the Disney Reservations Center to make room reservations, it's worthwhile to make a polite inquiry. You might say something like "Would you mind checking to see if I am on the list for any room discounts? I'm afraid I may have missed a promotional e-mail."

Is there still hope for May Codes? Should we give up at this point? I am thinking, yes. Oh, well, up, anyway!:)

It is very discouraging isn't it? Alot lot of us have went the ap & aaa route or just gave in to paying rack rate at a value. If you have a friend you might go the same time they are going and have their reservations linked to yours. Another thing the room rate discounts are not as great this year and also the time we are planning on going this year is regular season and not value as in previous years. A double wammie. Where's the pixie dust? :wizard:

I just called last night to add a 2nd room for our June trip - I had no problem getting the AP discount at AKL so there still must be rooms with codes available.

No Jack, It's not looking good...
As of today, there still aren't any new general discount codes on mousesavers.
(Melissa, codes used to come out every 3 months or so that avail a discount to the general public. It seems the only discounts available now are if you are a AAA or AP card holder :confused3.)

The codes are the only reason my family stayed at CSR last year!

This really bites :(
