I don't think this has been posted yet, but thanks to a recent post from Duds, I lowered my rate with National a few days ago. Just for kicks, I check again today and down another $4 - every bit helps!

:cool1: Mine went down $25 a few days ago and it just went down an additional $5 today. I'm using the Priceless Code (6600330) and the entertainment book or National website code (they are the same number 10009123) $20 off per week code. Thanks so much for letting us know!

I used both of these codes & coupons and got a good rate. My question is, when I go to pick up my car with this priceless code & entertainment book code, will they ask for the EB coupon? I just don't want to have any surprises when picking up the car. Thanks so much! :sunny:

They will ask for a coupon and here is the link to the National coupon:

Thank You! :cloud9: I checked my week long rental and it went down another $5. (3/1-3/7) I started out 2 weeks ago at $158 with Budget. Now I'm paying $127 and I don't have to stop at the counter, just go straight to the car. Woo-Hoo!

I save over $100 on 2 reservations last week and when I saw your note today I tried again and save another $20 on one reservation and entended the stay by 2 days on our other reservation for only $5 more! I love it when they reduce the rates!!

Wow! Thanks for the info! I went back to check ... and on my previous rental I had used the priceless code and got a quote for 401.79 (which included all taxes and the rental of a car seat which is 49.00 for the week). I entered the priceless one today along with that coupon I printed, and I got a quote of 295.14 ... and this includes the car seat and taxes!!! Awesome!! I am happy about this! :cool1: My dh was happy, but not quite as much as me because he doesn't know how many times I have tried different codes!!

Thanks again ...

Kerri

p.s. Our dates are March 14th to the 21st.
pps. Anyone know what the line ups are like at National? Alamo was brutal last year (and BAD service) so do not want to do that again ... also worrying about car seats, but I think Alamo and National customers pick from the same pile.

I skip the counter since I am an Emerald Club member, but I did glance at the counter when I was there. The line was pretty short.

I used Alamo twice in the past (off site) and both times were a good hour wait.

I rebooked last week for 9/23 when my full-size went from $228.10 to $200.58. I just checked again and used the priceless code someone listed here instead of the one I had down and my Entertainment coupon for $20.00 off and it went down to $184.45!! I've saved almost $44.00 this week!! Now I have to cancel the old one! Got to love it!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I checked yesterday and my rate was higher than the rate from last weekend. But, lo and behold, my rate dropped another $4 today. I've got an intermediate from 4/30-5/5 for $107. I'm still shooting for under $100!

And maybe check the American Express code from Mary's site, http://www.mousesavers.com/national.html#codes 5125601. I am planning an April business trip to Atlanta and the AMEX code was quite a bit less than Priceless (the one I most often use).

The last note Mary mentions using it is April 2004 and it would be nice to hear a more recent use with success. Thanks!

I have used the Am. Ex. code many times. But to play it safe, I always carry my Am. Ex. card with me. They have never asked for it.

I just plugged the Amex code in to check prices along with the Entertainment coupon and I got much higher rates than Priceless code with Entertainment coupon.
Intermediate 8 day AMEX $213.73 / Priceless $142.24
Full Size 7 day AMEX 416.26 / Priceless $112.65
Other times the Amex code was cheaper--not sure why they are higher now.

Yes you can modify. When you modify, it will give you a screen to change, just add the coupon code (10009123). At the end it will show you both quotes and ask if you want to keep the old or save the new. Obviously you want to save the cheapest of the 2. I've done this many times when I am looking for a coupon but hadn't found one yet. This time we were lucky enough to have someone post the link for the entertainment coupons that are good unti lthe end of the year.

I've used the Priceless and Amex codes each several times with no problem at all. Rates are still a bit high. Best so far for a minivan in mid-June is with Dollar by about $30 for an 11 day rental. Even better than Thrifty.

Hard to believe but my rate went down another $5 this morning. But I did notice a $2 fee added on that wasn't there before. It is for frequent flyer miles. I went back into my Emerald Club profile, into rewards and changed that option from frequent flyer miles to rental credits and that took the $2 charge off.

Is that frequent flyer charge new or did I just not notice that before?

Anyway my price went from $160 last week, to $125 on Monday, to $120 on Wednesday to $115 today!

It would be tremendously helpful if you could share what code combination you used, how many days you are going and what size car you are renting.

I am going May 2 (pick up around 11:30am-12) and departing May 10th (around 4:40pm) I am not blown away by rate quotes of $156-$165. They're not bad, but not fabulous.

I agree that does sound a little high. What size car and what are your dates? I have an intermediate price quote (I'm executive aisle), using the priceless code (6600330) and the $20 coupon (10009123) and I have a TOTAL price, after substracting for discounts and adding fees, a price of $290 for 16 days. (April 29 @ 10:30AM through May 14 @ 5:00PM)

Plus my friend who's also traveling the same timeframe has an intermediate using the same discounts for a 10 day rental = $185 total

Sandy, don't be surprised if that rate doesn't drop more, your dates show you are going during the Easter break. That would be the reason your rates are higher. But you should give it a shot anyway, you never know.

I know this is getting old, but my National rate dropped another $30 today. Full size, march 2-7, is $117. (Priceless and Ent book coupon)

It is only a couple of $$ more to get the full over EA.

Today I plugged in the priceless code (contract ID 6600330) and entertainment code (coupon 10009123) for your dates and got a quote of $161.52 (intermediate).

BTW, I have a great quote for 6/25-7/5 for intermediate Emerald Aisle for $197.82. I had to add a day and change hours as I could not get a $79.00 flight out of Orlando on July 4 (the original quote was for a morning pickup and evening dropoff). Imagine my surprise when I punched my revised flight/days/hours (early evening pickup, afternoon dropoff) and the National quote did not change even though we were "adding" an extra day.

Thanks for trying. I think I have devised a new plan. To look into renting from National at there WDW location for just 2 or 3 days and go to Universal and Cali Grille, and anything else off site during that time. The busses were great at POFQ last May, the car was handy to have when I had to go to the hospital for food poisoning- but Im not planning on THAT happening again! :earseek:

Lets say I arrive and I plug my laptop in, and do the online thing with coupons, etc- does it matter than I am picking it up in 1 day, rather than 30 days? My guess would be no- it doesn't matter.

Last year we went for less days and I had calculated that it was only an extra $25 to have a car all week vrs a sedan. I cant rationalize it this time and as 2 adults, we dont use it other than for Universal and maybe going to Poly or CR.
