Dear Diary,

Starting weight: 227.4
Current weight: 214.2
Goal weight: 127

I officially joined Weight Watchers in October 2004 with my mom. It's about the 20th time I've joined, but this time it is definitely different. I haven't missed a meeting....I've gone even when I've had a bad week, and no matter what, no matter how long it takes me, I am not quitting! I WILL make it to my goal weight. I want and deserve this more than ANYTHING in my life!

So far, I've lost 13.2 pounds. It's going slowly, but I'm not giving up. I have already made so many positive changes in my life and in my behaviors. And I know that is what is important to make this a lifelong change. I'm only 25 years old....I don't want to be still overweight when I'm 30 or 40.

Everyone says they have a "last straw" moment that got them to really start making changes, and I know I do. Of course, I was miserable about a lot of little things....clothes, feeling fat, out of shape, etc. But the biggest shock came when I went to my favorite place in the whole world last summer, June 2004. My husband, Aaron, and I went to Disney and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for 10 days for our 2nd anniversary. I planned this trip and looked forward to it for months and months, but what should have been a wonderful vacation turned into something very sad.

When I got there, I was pretty much miserable the entire time. I was soooo out of shape, 100 pounds overweight and I had to wear the most unflattering clothes. I was 24 years old! I should be wearing cute, sexy outfits....not "fat" clothes! My thighs rubbed together the entire time......and when I got back and saw the pictures from our trip.... It was then I realized how big I had gotten. And above all else, I finally realized my weight was taking joy out of my life! When I could no longer enjoy Disney World, the place I fell in love with my husband, the place I got married, that was when something had to change. I deserve better than to be miserable. So, it was actually WDW that woke me up to make a change. And no matter how much hard work it takes, I WILL do this.

When I step off that plane in May 2006 to my favorite place in the world, I will be the person I have always been INSIDE, without the fat hiding me and weighing me down physically and emotionally.

I have a long journey ahead of me, but I am excited and ready to make the changes needed and looking forward to all the experiences in life that will be even better when I am a healthy person.

Thanks for listening to the beginning of my journey! I look forward to the many months to come!

Dear Diary,

Starting weight: 227.4
Current weight: 214.2
Goal weight: 127

I've been thinking tonight about setting some non scale goals for myself this week. Here are the things I want to accomplish for myself before weigh in on Thursday:

1) Work out 1 hour Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday after work
2) Take my vitamin each day
3) Stay within my points (26) each day
4) Write in this journal each day about how I feel I did that day

Hi Leanna,

Welcome! :flower:

Congratulations on taking control of your life! You are off to a great start. I think I have the same WDW photos from 2003!!!!! I can't wait to go back thin, too. What a great goal ::yes::

Thanks, Sunny!!! I really appreciate how supportive everyone is on the DIS. Hope you are doing well too!

Dear Diary,

Same weights as previous....don't weigh in till Thursday.

I feel very positive and in control today. I met each one of my non scale goals today. I am within my points, I drank my water, took my vitamin and worked out too! It's amazing how if you make time for yourself every day, everything else just falls into place. And I still have time to chill out after dinner......I can't remember how many times I used to tell myself I didn't have time to cook dinner or work out. What a silly excuse and totally not true! You just have to MAKE time for yourself!

Well, today is Valentine's Day! Aaron and I went out to dinner on Saturday to celebrate. I requested that he NOT buy me any chocolates and he didn't! Yea! I certainly don't need any candy to know he loves me! :love2:

I'm going to sign off! Today was definitely a successful day in working towards my personal goals!

Welcome to WISH, Leanna! Seems you and I have a lot in common! I will be 24 in less than 2 weeks. I also went to WDW in June 2004. I was out of shape as well and that is the month I started WISHing and doing WW. I was doing pretty well, but then found out I was preg. My daughter is due May 1 and then I plan to try to get back on track. Our next trip to WDW will also be May 2006 and I am hoping to lose a good bit before that trip. So, see, I can totally relate to you. Do you know when in May 2006 you plan to go yet? We have not decided on the dates yet, just the month...if everything goes according to plan. I hope you have a great week!

Hi, Tasha

Thanks for the welcome! And congratulations on the little one on the way! That's one of my other reasons for WW......to be in better shape before I get pregnant.

We are planning a trip May 20, 2006...it's not set in stone yet, but we're pretty sure. Now, I just need to save the money and lose the weight!

Hope to see you around the WISH/DIS boards! :wave2:

Dear Diary,

Same weights as previous....weigh in on Thursday.

Another successful day on program and working towards my goals! I went walking around my neighborhood today instead of going to the gym. Wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather...I think I walked about 2.5 miles, which is pretty good for me. Also took my vitamin, and am within my points!

Very proud of myself today! :goodvibes:

Till tomorrow....Leanna

Hi Leanna and Welcome!!! You sound like you are so determined this time around, so I'm sure you'll succeed. 13.2 pounds is awesome and it'll be gone forever :cool1:

I know how you feel (but I'm a little older ;) ) and this is the best place to get support and ideas. I type in my journal almost everyday, write down what I eat and exercise 5 days a week. Keep up the great attitude and make sure you drink LOTS of water (I think that has been a huge help)

Dear Diary,

Same weights as previous....weigh in tomorrow!

Just got back from doing an hour and a half at the gym. It felt exhilarating! Those endorphins are pumping!

Trying to work more on getting in my water. Don't know why I have trouble with that. I guess its a habit like everything else.

Hoping for a good weigh in tomorrow night.....

Dear Diary,

Starting weight: 227.4
Current weight: 212.6
Goal weight: 127

Just got back from weigh in....Lost 1.6 pounds! I was very excited, and I am just now being able to tell a difference in my clothes, which is also very encouraging. My goal for next week is to lose 1.5 pounds. The way I am going to accomplish this goal is by working out Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues & Wed, and staying within my points EVERY single day...especially on the weekend.

The weekends always try to trip me up, but I am determined to have an entirely on program weekend. no slacking off....i want to prove to myself that i can stay OP all weekend and still be satisfied and have fun. i know it sounds silly, but i'm having to learn to disassociate food with having a good time, etc. it's a very important lesson i need to learn.

well, I hope everyone else out there is having a good week! Thank you so much for all the support!

Till tomorrow..... Leanna :flower:

Dear Diary,

Starting weight: 227.4
Current weight: 212.6
Goal weight: 127

Having a pretty good weekend. Had a little bit of a trip up on Friday....I think I got a too stressed out at work and ended up making some bad decisions for dinner Friday night. However, Saturday, I got up and worked out for 1 1/2 hours and stayed OP all day. We even went out to dinner and a movie with friends and I still stayed within my points with no problem.

Today, everything is going well. Planning on making chicken tenders and potatoes for dinner. Tomorrow I'm off from work. Yea! :bounce: I plan on using the day off to go grocery shopping....cabinets are looking pretty sparse. Need to stock them up with healthy food!

Hoping for a good week...I have to make sure that I don't get stressed out at work, cause that can trip me up. Just gotta take one day at a time and do the best I can. The scariness of my new position at work will pass and in the meantime, I can't let it get to me. Just do one thing at a time and try your best....you can't be perfect.

till tomorrow....Leanna

Well, I have to come clean  ...I had a not so good week on program. Didn't go hog wild, but had quite a few days where I just slid off the wagon.

Had weigh in last night and I maintained...frankly, i'm just glad it wasn't a gain. I am back with it today, and had a great day on program. I don't know what it was about last week....I was just in kind of a funk.

I have 7.2 pounds to go until I hit my ten percent. I am just concentrating on that right now. I really want to get to my ten percent! My husband said he would send me roses to work when I did, so thats a nice reward to look forward to. (besides the obvious ones)

I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Going antique shopping tomorrow with my mom in the morning (after I work out) and then just gonna come home and watch movies with the DH. Sunday I want to go to the park with DH and my dog.

On a side note, I'm really bummed about not being able to have the countdown timers anymore. :hourglass: Oh, well....

Hey Leanna - Don't worry about not having the best week, we've all done it and be thrilled that you didn't gain. You get over it and start fresh. My favorite motto is:

"One day at a time, no regrets and move on"

Keep it up and you'll have a loss next week.

Dear Diary,

Same weights as previous....weigh in on Thursday.

Had a great day today! Good day at work, and had no problems staying on program today. Also worked out for an hour at the gym - 15 minutes each of the elliptical trainer, bike, treadmill & weights.

Aaron is at a Mavericks game tonight, so I just had soup for dinner. My favorite - Uncle Ben's brocolli cheese & rice soup. Only six points for the whole thing! Yummy! Plan on having a skinny cow later for a treat. :mickeybar

My new challenge for myself is six weeks of working out four times a week. No skipping or misses. So this challenge will go to April 7th. Go me! :cheer2:

Dear Diary,

Just got back from the gym...did 55 minutes on the treadmill. It's amazing how much progress I've made already. A couple months ago I couldn't get past 20 minutes on the treadmill.

Still, it seems like the actual weight loss is going slow. But I know I just have to keep chugging along. :moped:

Dear Diary,

Starting weight: 227.4
Current weight: 211.8
Goal weight: 127

I've had a busy past couple of days, but I have been completely on program and have made my workouts. Last weigh in I lost 0.8 pounds....not much, but a loss is a loss!

When I first started I was just starting to have to buy size 24 pants....I went to Kohl's on Saturday and found out I'm now wearing a size 20. Down I go! :cheer2: And I only have 6.4 more pounds to lose to hit my ten percent! I will be sooooo excited...its taking me a long time, but I'd definitely rather be on the way down than on the way up.

Three months until we go on vacation. We're taking a trip in an RV with my family to Washington DC, and that area. I'd love to be close to 190 lbs by then, but I know you can't control the scale...you can only control your behavior.

See ya real soon! ::MickeyMo

Hi Leanna - Great job on getting into a smaller size pants. This is where you'll really see a difference... in your clothes. I started out wearing a size 18 (sometimes 20) and I'm just getting into 12's now. Never thought THAT would happen in less than 7 months :cool1:

Keep up the great work and don't buy too many size 20's since you'll be getting into 18's in now time.

Good luck getting to the 190 goal by your vacation :sunny:

Only 5.2 lbs to hit my ten percent!

Here's to another good week! :drinking1 Just kidding!

I'm really glad tomorrow is Friday, but I'm a little nervous. We have an employee of the year luncheon tomorrow. And I'm one of 11 people who have a shot to win it (out of about 350 employees) I'll be honest! I'd really like to win, cause the prize is $1,000! Well, I haven't posted in my diary in a long time, but I still have been a consistent member of Weight Watchers. I have only missed one meeting since I joined, and that was because I was on vacation.

I have about 60 more pounds to go, but I feel like it's getting easier. I know I'm losing very slowly, but I am really making lifestyle changes and really trying to change on the inside, not just on the outside. I don't want to ever have to do this again. I have really changed. I am a active health-conscious person now and my body is just catching up with my identity on the inside.

I think I'm going to start posting in here again. Helps keep me focused.

My goal is to make it to 184 pounds by Thanksgiving, and to 174 pounds by the end of the year. I just have to keep saying these goals to myself to keep myself focused and motivated. This is more important to my that ANYTHING else. I made a promise to myself to be healthy by my next WDW trip, and I still plan on reaching that goal.

Well, well...it has been a long time since I've written in here. I'm still a consistent Weight Watchers member, but I did have a terrible holiday season between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I got back on the wagon after New Years and it took me all of January to get back where I was at Thanksgiving. Oh, well, at least I didn't give up.

Now, I'm working hard to get my 50 pounds lost star from Weight Watchers. Only 6.4 pounds to go! I feel like losing this weight is taking me forever....it has been a year and a half already. But my motto this time is "Never EVER quit!" I'm just gonna keep going and keep trying till I get there.
