HEPL PLEASE! My kitchen flooring is very dingy and is getting large yellow spots wear mats have been sitting. Whats out in stores that is easy and that will brighten the floors. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 . We are trying very much to give our house a good cleaning before we head south, so when we come back we don't feel so depressed untill summer.

Try ammonia (sp) or vinegar. Neither smells all that great but they do clean well.

Thanks for the advise, its just so happens thats both what I used, then when it was dry, I used a cheap wax. You only get a shine at different angles. Not when looking down on it. I am also the mother of one teenage daughter. Dec.26th. Not bad so far. Don't get to see much of her for new boyfriend. :love2:

I mix about 1/4 c bleach with a bucket of water and use the scrounge sp? side of a sponge to clean mine. As far as the yellowing under mats, I've never heard of anyone getting rid of that. My solution - just keep a mat down to cover it up!

Unfortunately you will not be able to get the yellow out of the vinyl. It is a reaction with the rubber backing of the mat and it is all the way through the vinyl. Some flooring stores have a high shine wax near their vinyl displays and that may put the shine back on but it needs to be done repeatedly and it ain't cheap!
