When is school over at your house?

We are going june 6-12. Anyone know what it is like at that time?

School is out May 18 for us! YIPPEEE, planning a possible trip starting May 19 to the 26th.

Our last day was supposed to be May 13th, but it's been extended a week due to snow days (another one today).

Where I am we get out June 16. We've only used one snow day so far.
Keep in mind, kids in Florida get out in May.

as of now June 23rd but the schools only have 1 more snow day built in -
the contract lets the teachers have school until June 30th
Good thing its not any longer - our first summer vacation is July 1-5

In general, schools in the south start early in August and are done in May. In the northeast they start later, September, and go longer, mid-June or so (plus snow days.) We are somewhere in the middle, we start late August and are done early June, the 8th this year I think. We have lived here 5 years and during that time have only had one snow day. There are exceptions, private schools and such, but for most schools this is the way it is. I would love a year round schedule and am currrently considering homeschooling so we could make our own schedule. My kids are BORED in the summer, even with the pool and activities and such. I can't believe how early you guys finish. I'm a teacher in the UK and we finish at the end of July for 6 weeks, go back beginning of Sept. This is goos as many US kids are going back to school when we arrive at the world.

My son is in a track system (year round) so his track if off for June and back on in August. However, he then has 3 weeks off in September, 5 weeks around Thanksgiving & Christmas, and 3 weeks in March.

We get out at May 17 this year we havent had any snow days, we hardly ever do we usually have about one every three years. We live on the Oklahoma, :dancer: :dancer: Texas border.

We get out May 20 and go back mid-Aug. Our district is looking at alternate schedules that would add a winter break in Feb and a weeklong break at Thanksgiving as well. This would push release from May to June. Sounds like maybe the beginning of the road to year-round school. I think I would be for year-round school, but there is something refreshing and sentimental about having summers off that I would miss. As far as Disny vacations go, year-round would be great for that - more opportunities to go when weather and crowds are better.

I teach in Ontario, Canada and we are at school until June 30th! The kids are done the 29th but not staff. We don't go back until the Tuesday after Labour Day. We went to WDW late last August and the crowds were low because most of the schools in the US were back already! We did run into a lot of Brits, though! The heat was an issue but we were up early and took lots of breaks. The hurricanes were also a problem but we just left a day early. I figure that will never happen again, it was a bad year for hurricanes. It was also value season so we saved a bit of $.
We enjoyed it so much we are planning a family reunion with some UK relatives for August 2006! :cool1:

:cool1: Schools where we live (Zachary, Louisiana) are out May 19th. We will be at WDW May 20th thru May 27th!! Wilderness Lodge here we come!!!!!!!
