Does anyone have any experience with American Trans Air? We will be flying out of GRR on Dec. 21, and returning on the 29th. They seem to have the cheapest fair at $315.00 rt. Just wondering how their service etc. is. Thanks

ATA's home office is in Indianapolis. We fly ATA often and have found them to be very good. They are a no frills type airline.

I have used ATA on numerous occasions out of MDW and have never had any major issue with them. Like the previous poster mentioned, they are low frills carrier, meaning usually you get no meal service to and from Florida and there is no first class section. But they do have some of the best fares and are currently in the process of upgrading their fleet with new 737-800s and 757-300s.

We have booked ATA for next spring and I was wondering if they offer drinks and snacks. I know there is no meal service but do we need to bring our own soft drinks and water along?

I am not sure where you are flying from, but from MDW they do offer complimentary softdrinks, juices and coffee, etc. Their 'snacks' are either a bag of peanuts or a couple of prepackaged cookies. If you are flying from a longer distance, ATA may serve some kind of small snack, but I have never encountered this going from MDW to anywhere in Florida. If you want more food than just a bag a peanuts, I would suggest bringing with you. You won't need to tote along drinks though.
