Have you seen the March 2005 issue of Better Homes and Gardens? On page 126 are instructions for Garden Pots Necklaces made from broken pieces of pottery and copper wiring. I think they are beautiful!

"Pots with gently sloping shoulders are the best candidates for these easy-to-make adornments. You will need: copper wire, wire cutters, sandpaper, beads, and pottery shards. Begin by sanding the broken edges (of pottery) smooth. Loop a small piece of wire around each piece of pottery; leave a 2" tail of wire free to attach the shard to the necklace. Cut a length of copper wire about 3" longer than the circumference of the pot. String several beads onto the necklace wire. Intersperse the shards, suspended by wire, among the beads. Wrap the finished necklace around the pot and secure it by twisting the ends of copper wire together."
