We're staying in a cabin for 2 weeks in Dec. There are 5 of us and I wondered how much storage space the cabins have. I saw in several photos there is 1 dresser in the bedroom, along with a closet and a closet in the kitchen for food. What else can I expect to see in the cabins? Will there be enough room for all of us to unpack?

Thanks for the help!! :earsboy:

The one area in the cabins that is lacking is storage space. The kitchen has plenty of storage area. The bathroom has storage under the sink. At the front of the cabin are two cabinets that could be used for storage as well as the doors under the television. However, in the bedroom, space is at a premium! There is one very small chest with 3 or 4 rather small drawers. There is a closet area (without a door) to hang some clothes. There is a nightstand with 2 very small drawers. There is space under the bed for some stuff. We are a family of 3 and we pretty much live out of our suitcases. Having said all that, though, the cabins are great and the lack of storage space isn't that big a deal for us.

Storage is tight, but manageable. I brought my 5 kids down last December for 2 weeks, and with a little prep at the beginning of our trip, we were all very comfortable. This is what we did. I unpacked right away, and stored as many of the large suitcases on the top of the closet. Since we had suitcases that fit inside each other, we were able to get all of them up there and out of the way. We unpacked the carry-ons, and stored them under the beds in the bedroom. There is a lot of room under there (make sure you check there carefully before you leave!) I assigned each older child one of the 4 drawers in the bedroom for pajamas, socks, etc. They hung the rest of their clothes up (try to not overpack!) In the living room, I used one of the two cupboards there for my clothes storage, and the other for miscelleaneous 'stuff.' They are quite roomy. I gave my youngest son the area under the t.v. We didn't feel squished at all. I think you'll have a wonderful time!
P.S. Since December was chilly, we all had coats, and I found that by hanging them on the bunk bed posts, this really kept them out of the way.

So give Kirk the "under the bathroom sink area", Jeana the "under the TV area", Jessie the "under the bed area" and you and Dennis can have the dresser to yourselves!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: You better leave Thumper and Taz home unless you think they might enjoy the broom closet!! :confused3

LOL!!

Since we won't let our kids sleep in the top bunk, we also use that area for storage.

The "vanity" in the bedroom is about 24 inches deep. Because it is so dark and the mirror so far away, we also use that area for storage.

You can also rearrange the kitchen cabinets and use the big pantry to store all kinds of things.
