View Full Version : Help me find a credit card with a low APR!
In an attempt to save money for WDW, I need to find a credit card with a low APR. I'm looking to transfer a $1,500 balance from my Gateway credit card (just bought a new computer in October, and paying 16.99% APR...ouch!) to something in the 3% or less category. Can anyone help?

Use your browser to do a search for either Visa or Master Card, there are many companies that show up.

We had a First USA because of the low APR. 9% I believe. My husband pays the bills and is never late on a payment. He sent our check at least a week and a half before the due date. On our next bill, we had a 30.00 late charge. When I called to inquire about it, I was told payment had to be sent AT LEAST 2 weeks prior to due date incase the bill gets lost in THEIR billing department. I replied, but I know the postmark is way before the duedate and its not our fault if you lose our check. She would not take off the late charge, and we cancelled our card and now we're with Capital One. I believe APR of 9 or 10 %. There are plenty out there with no annual fee and low APR.

I ran into the same issue with First USA.
Citibank has been inundating me with low interest offers in the mail. You could try their site.
I've also seen one called Aria on TV; they advertise low rates as well.
Be very certain you note how long the special interest rate period is for though. Many times these low rates are followed by a really high rate once the promotional period is over. Just mark it on your calendar so you remember to pay it off or move it to another card before the rate goes up.

Try Discover, til April 2001 I have 0 % interest rate, than it goes up to 2.9% for another 6 months.
