Would you work at one of the resorts? If so, doing what? Management (what type?)? MS? My dream used to be to take over for Art the greeter, but I could never do as great a job as he does, so my new dream: Work in the general store at OKW, then at the end of the day hop a bus back to my villa (of course I live there) or go over to Epcot for dinner and to see Illuminations (for about the 3 thousandth time). What's your dream job?

I don't want a role with DVC, but I do want to be the Fairy Godmother. I would prefer to be cast at MGM so I can wave at all of you from the boat.

I think I'd like to be a guide. I love DVC and Disney so much, I'm sure I could sell it to anybody!

I'd love to work on the editorial/design end of member communications (the e-newsletter, the print newsletter and the everything else we get as members). I really enjoy working in that line of work and would love to do it for DVC (combine my loves).

I've got a couple in mind, but I'm thinking that near the top of the list would be a Segway tour guide/demonstrator.
:moped: <--- not exactly a Segway, but close ;)
Hopefully, just a few more years...

I am going to be a front desk CM and just smile at the guest while they list out thier 20 room requests and then give them the worst view in the joint. LOL! (Just kidding, but sometimes I have seen guests who if I was checking them in that is what I would do.)
My real goal is to drive the Safari trucks at AK.

I would like to be the Quality Control expert for the DVC Golf Membership program. I would have to play golf regularly with DVC members to make sure they were enjoying themselves, and play the courses every day to make sure that maintenance, pace of play, and quality of experience is not suffering. On my off time, I would be a pin trader who was able to give out the special pins and make people's days. :)

"Secret Shopper" for Disney restaurants. Someone has to make sure everything is up to par! :teeth:

I don't wanna work for DVC, what I would love to do is be a photographer on Main Street. I"m a scrapbooker, so I love taking great pictures, and I get really tired of getting only so-so ones from photographers that don't get it right. I would love to capture that magical memory for people every day.

rayelias,
I thought of that job, too, but I rejected it for health's sake and what if things started going down hill. A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work, but a bad day in a restaurant?....I didn't want to think about it, LOL.

I've often daydreamed about this question...and ...
I would like to be a tour CM for newbies in the MK. :flower:

I would like to be the head of Customer (Guest) Service. I feel that the attitude of the castmembers falls from above and I would love to show them that not all Guests are bad people, just that they have been jaded to believe this.
Give me control of Guest Service at any location and watch the PMA explode!
I'd like to do LOTS of things. In my "younger" performer days, I would like to have been a performer at WDW...I have students who perform there now...I never realized that it was relatively easy to get on as a performer!!
But, now...I think I would REALLY like to be a WDW "decorator". They have 30 warehouses the size of aircraft hangers where they assemble Chistmas decorations YEAR-ROUND. Then, they move them all on trucks in one-night. I think I would like to be a part of that.
But, I would also like to be a seamstress for WDW...I'd love to make their costumes.
But, really....I think I would most enjoy being a DVC GUIDE!!!!

My first thought was a MS reservationist, then Room assigner, jungle cruise capt (as my non DVC choice) but I also like the idea of Decorator or landscaping.

Easy to get on as a performer? That's not what I've been told by lots of performers there. I've also known people who've auditioned multiple times. Disney has a reputation for only hiring the most talented performers. Sounds like your students are pretty talented to be performing there, not performing there just because it's "easy"-it isn't!

I want to be the guy who fills up all of the fish food machines around the world--you know--the ones you put a quarter in and out comes food for the fish. How hard can that be!? Sounds like a great retirement job!

I think I'd love working at the front desk/guest services....mainly so that I could help people get a magical start to their visit or help them resolve any difficulties they're having. Also, I find it quite amusing to kill the awful folks with kindness...you know, the ones who are going to be nasty no matter what you do? Keep smiling, do all I can and then tell them "I'll be happy to get a manager for you" and make sure I pass them along to the manager who won't give in to bullying. Actually management would be fine too...I'd really love to help folks who need it. I was really disgusted to hear a guest with sopping wet carpets in her room be told that they couldn't help her at all once at the BVW. It was the first time I was checking in there and I have to say I was scared my nightmares would come true.
My dh said he'd like to just walk around sweeping and emptying trash cans...just to be in the parks. Personally, I don't think I'd like working in the parks at all...mainly because I think it would wear off some of the magic.

Second choice would be working the front desk the same reasons.

My dream job has always been to work at the Poly. Lately I have revised that to the DVC job at the Poly... There is a DVC desk there, where the old "News from Civilization" store used to be - - right in that gorgeous lobby. The combo of DVC job/Poly seems unimaginably wonderful to me.

DW has decided that she wants to be one of the Haunted Mansion CMs. She was practising her spiel at the Shrove Tuesday Pancake dinner last night at Church. I'm going to wear the purple pants and drive a bus around WDW -- or maybe a tram somewhere.

Wow, I love this thread.
I would like to be in MS making magic for vacationers or at the front desk at the resort, welcoming people and helping them have a great vacation.
The family plan is to relocate in 2006, maybe the dream will come true.

DVC Guide!!! They have the envy of all cast members mainly because of their pocketbooks. I think last time they hired 5 DVC guides more than 1200 people applied, so says my guide.
They are pretty much great salespeople, however, more people are calling them to buy then they are calling people to buy. They are working off waiting lists -and lists -and lists- and lists while most salespeople are cold calling or working "old leads".
They are also selling a great product that makes economic sense, works and is affordable. They also have a great name behind their product---"Disney".
If I was retiring soon, however, then would choose to be a starter two days a week at Lake Buena Vista golf coursei f they would let me golf the other five days for free.
There are several jobs that would interest me, depending on how old I am when I finally move to Florida. I am currently a controller for a construction company and I want to get as far away from that as possible. I think I would like to be a DVC Guide or one of those people who do the WDW tours......My DH has always wanted to be a conductor on the MK Train......Those are our dreams.......hope the magic makes them come true!!!!

How about this one (http://jobsearch.disneycareers.newjobs.com/getjob.asp?JobID=27289013&AVSDM=2005%2D02%2D14+09%3A47%3A13&Logo=0&col=dltcj&lid=13695&lid=8678&lid=8677&sort=dt&vw=b)?
I'd love to be an engineer on the WDWRR, but I hear that's one of the hardest jobs to land. I'd settle form monorail pilot!

I've always wanted to be ARIEL either in the show or on the raft at Fantasmic. But I can't sing a note and besides that, I'm too old to wear scales.LOL
I've also dreamed of being Belle in the beauty and the beast show....same problem tho.
And finally...I think I could do a great job playing Tink on the zipline...1 minute once a day is, to me, the ideal job!!!!
