I just read some posts on another site about the Muppets taking over the GMR. It would be called the great muppet movie ride. It said that there were plans to build a Muppet movie ride in the early 90's, but it never happened. Now that they may have to change the GMR, because MGM and Disneys contract is over in June, the Muppet movie ride may be built. Now with the Muppets Wiz of OZ comming out, and other Muppet related projects in the works, mabey the Muppets can gain some new fans. I love the idea of a Muppet dark, and I hope it happens.

Well, I'd like to see the GMR revamped to include some other movies, but I don't think turning that particular ride into a Muppet theme would be an improvement. The muppets need a more "fun" ride system than the moving theater format.
As far as MGM/Disney parting ways, I could see it if MGM were successfully operating their own parks and wanted to disassociate themselves from WDW. However, the MGM park in Vegas failed and here would be no advantage to MGM to not renew the contract now.

I remember when the Muppets first came to the Studios. They used to have a live show in what now is "The Little Mermaid". More muppets would be great!

I'm confused. I thought that this was already decided on. Isn't that why they are phasing in the name change from MGM Stuidos to Disney Studios?

I heard the GMR would be turned into the Indiana Jones ride, like in disneyland.
