Cybergold Going Out of Business/ My Points Next?

If you're a member of Cybergold, you'd better cash out quick. They are ending service on August 31. Here's a link to the announcement:

Cybergold is owned by My Points. I have not heard any news regarding My Points, nor have I heard any rumors, but the closing of one does not bode well for the other, IMO.

It may be only wishful thinking on my part, but I don't think we have to worry too much about mypoints closing any time soon. Many of us read press releases which informed us that mypoints had been purchased by United Airlines recently.

Hopefully the closing of Cybergold is just the effort of the new parent company to get rid of "dead wood" and will only go to strenghen mypoints. At least I hope so.
