I've noticed several of us trying to get down to the 150's...Jen suggested a 150 Club and I agreed! It doesn't matter how much weight you need to lose to get there...1-150 pounds...just that your goal is to get into the 150's...we'd love to encourage each other down and share our experiences as each of us finally see 159 on the scale and anything below...
My highest was 258...so I guess you could say I was a 250 club...150 sounds much better...I'm right around 195 now and have 36 pounds to get there...I hope to settle around 152-155...so even if I have a bad splurge day the scales will have to fight to see 160 again.
We can use this club to encourage and share inspiring stories of how it feels to be 150 or how it feels going down that way....lots of struggles and setbacks but we can use this opportunity to unite on a goal and rejoice in each other heading down that way.
I'll try and post a weekly Club 150 vent/celebrate/encourage thread...to keep our eye on the goal....
I'd like to have a mini-celebration for each member that breaks into a new tens zone....first weigh in at 210's, 160's, 170's...just a chance for us all to say GOODBYE to that ten number we just got out of...when I break into the 180's I'll need encouragment to say GOODBYE 190's! :)

WELCOME Karen!! Girl..you may think you have a long way to go...but believe me I was in your boat not too long ago...I started WISH at 236 (on my good scale..more like 242 on my evil scale that I'm forced to use now! :)) My first 20 pounds were the hardest...the next 20 pounds just seemed to come off and I've been waffling in the next 20 for over a year...dadblastit...I'm just ready for it to come off so I can get in the next 20 pounds! :) You can do this and PLEASE report whenever you dip into the next 10 pound slot...it's a BIG DEAL!!!
Ha! Renee...I hope you won't be in the 150 club too long but please let us know when you get there so we can give you the proper ceremonial WAHOO!!!! And you've inspired me..after reading about your treadmill in the midst of personal venting...and how it surprised you..I'm getting off my duff and heading to the gym...I have so many excuses not to go..but I promised myself after my week of low carb that I'd add back in exercise...the weekend is the only time I can do it...so I'm doing my full hour at 3.7 and going to ENJOY IT!!!! Thanks for the inspiration!
150 CLUB....we need a secret handshake...or password....any ideas?
Chocolate free zone....Oh when the pounds go marching down...oh when the pounds go marching down...oh how I want to be AT THAT NUMBER (150's) when the pounds go marching down!!!! :)
Tara
I am SO in on this one. My heaviest was 220 and when I started WW August 24, 2004, I was 208. I am now down to 175 and hope to be 150 by our cruise date May 5th. I think Renee and I need to start a 130's club later on, because that's where I "should" be when I get to goal.
Good luck everyone!!!!

Tara,
What a wonderful new challenge/accountability thread! I am so in on this!!! My goal is to get to 153 which will put me at a certain percentage lost. Then to get to 150 as my final goal weight. I started off a little over a year ago at 282.5 pounds and never thought I'd be 4 pounds from losing 100 pounds but that's where I stand as of today. I am so excited to see the 180's on the scale and weigh 186.5 right now. I'm throwing a real big virtual party when I see that 179 on the scale! So like I said, I'm in and I look forward to getting to know all you other losers! :)

Toasting Tera and Lisa!!
Tera, we will do all we can to see that you hit the 150's by your cruise date...I think you can manage that especially with Spring coming on and better weather to get out in. Share any tips that have helped you make it this far!!!
Lisa...WOW!!! You are amazing!!! I am so ready to be in the 180's with you...last year I got down to where you are and even saw 178...and then I kind of gave up...the key to me giving up was getting away from WISH and the support here...there's something to be said for accountability and knowing others will benefit from our own discipline. On bad days, it's easier for me to eat well and exercise if I know I'm encouraging someone on a team...so welcome to the team...and please share some of your tips...you're a BRILLIANT loser!!
My tips....not eating after 7pm....getting exercise done early in the am...avoiding french fries and white flour products...those three things really help me stay on target....would love to hear y'alls tips!!!

I am in! My goal is to get to 155 and then re-evaluate. I am almost 5'9" and I just not sure what a good goal weight is. I have always been, ummmmm, busty, but I am weaning my DS and I am not sure how things will change.
One year ago today I weighed 230 pounds and gave birth to DS#2. I can not believe my baby is now 1! And I can not believe I weigh the same as I did when I got pregnant with him, I was really hoping to lose this weight before his first birthday. Oh well, I can't turn back time, I just have to move forward.

I can not agree enough about getting the exercise done in the morning. It really makes a huge difference. I find by the end of the day I am just too tired to do it.

I would love to join the club. I am just staring and have alot to lose to get there, but I hope to see it by my anniversary next year. I just started the journey 3 days ago and I have done well with my eating, but exercise has been a problem. I did well on Thursday, then I twisted my knee so I am having to rest it. I did use my weight beanch yesterday and just didn't do any leg exercises.
My other goal is to be below 200lbs by my December 6, trip to Disney.

I am so excited about this thread! I honestly didn't think I'd ever see the 150's but I truly do believe and know it's going to happen. WISH has been such a big part of my success and I agree with Tara that WISH is instrumental in being successful.
Second, I am a big believer in not cheating. When I get to goal, then I can have treats or be a bit more laxed but not during the weight loss phase. Also, I have found taking the weight loss journey one day at a time to be invaluable. You can get so overwhelmed when you have a lot to lose but taking it one day at a time makes it so much more managable. I also agree about early exercising. I do Firm and Cathe work outs and I get up at 5:15 in the morning during the week to make my exercise a priority. I try to work out 6-7 days per week and know that's helping me fit into clothes in a smaller size that I probably would be able to at this weight.
I am so encouraged by you all and know we'll reach the 150's and maybe even beyond if that is what we want! It's such a great feeling knowing you have control over what you goal weight will be and that you don't have to be fat if you don't want to be!

Hi to all
I would like to apply for membership to this really cool club :cool1: :cool1:
150's looks good to me........really need to be in the 130's club and that is my ultimate goal but short term of 150's looks good. I am at 170 right now and have recomitted to WW online after a frustrating 6 months on and off again.
So let's get our engines moving :moped: - give a group hug :grouphug: and to the 150's!!
Have a magical Disney Day!! :earboy2:

Christy...don't sweat the past...you're going to be fit and healthy before your little one ever has the ability to remember! :) I remember going through the promises..."I'll have it off by the time my 3rd child is 1, then 2, then one day I woke up and she was turning 4 and I said ENOUGH!!!" Just stick with us and when you have a lapse...let it pass...just don't let it consume you...each pound took time to gain...it'll take some time to lose...WELCOME!!!! As far as weight there are many opinions...here's mine....I say if you're 5'0 you should weigh 100 for every inch you are over that add 5 pounds...if you're big boned add 6-7 pounds...if you're petite add 3-4 pounds per inch. I'm 5'8 by a hair and I should weigh about 140...I'm medium build but I'll settle for 150's and work hard to get into the 140's after taking a little break from being so focused on losing weight. Ultimately, if I can fit into my dream jeans comfortably....I'm there regardless of the pounds.
RF536...take good care of yourself!! Physical setbacks are really hard...but realize you can still lose weight on those weeks you're trying to get better....don't jump back into it until you feel much better. The hardest thing for me is portion control...when I'm exercising I tend to eat more and still lose but as soon as I hit an injury I forget to cut my portions and I start backsliding. The injuries really cut down after you're below 200...it was amazing how my body responded to exercise after getting below 200...You are going to make your goal to Onederland in fine time...just use us as a sounding board when you feel challenged!!!
MissChris!! YEAH!!! You are only 11 pounds away!!! Just think how your clothes will fit with those gone...we'll be right there with you all through the 150's to help you get to the 140's...passers-thru are more than a welcome treat around here...we'll be thrilled to see you go right through the 150's...it'll encourage us all!! :)
I've posted everyone's moniker/name/weight to go until they hit 159 for all the folks I could figure it out....if you want that information on there just leave me a number of pounds until you hit 159 and I'll add it...weekly I'll post the new number and we'll celebrate all those who hit it and manage to go through the 150's! :)
150's in time and fun!

Knock! Knock!
Can I come in?
Tara, you've had a lot on your plate this past year. Me, I can't say the same, but I CAN say that I saw those 170's....and then UP she went. :( I'm hoping that I am ready to :moped: on down from where we are to the 150's. I've not had much luck with the challenges, but I NEED to get my head around the need to drop those pounds. Looks like about 40 pounds for me. :earseek: I guess that I'll take 'em one day, one pound at a time. :wizard:

Mind if I join?
I am currently 211 pounds and have 52 pounds to go before I am in the 150's. My final goal (for now) is to be 155. My highest weight was 242 pounds when I first started WW 4 years ago. I lost 49 pounds and then just quit following the program and stopped going to the meetings and gained 39 of those pounds back. I started back to WW and joined the WISH challenge in September and have since lost 21 pounds and will make my goal this time. I am really excited about this thread and look forward to getting to know everyone.

Debbie....you know all those happenings in my life are just excuses..if they hadn't happened I'm sure I would have created some kind of excuses. :) We're right here in the thick of it together...didn't the 170's feel good? I think I was there for a month before I let it all drop! :) BUT THAT'S IN THE PAST!!!! We're moving onward and downward!!!
Let's take everyone's hints and tips and try to work them into the plan....I've had exercise videos but they seem either too slow or too fast....the 4 mile WATP didn't get my heart rate up...but the Taebo tape had me falling on the floor...anyone recommend anything between the two?
Deb..I think taking those 40 pounds and celebrating every time you hit the next 10's will help you appreciate all your hard work....I kept looking at the big number 40 and it just seemed daunting...but 10 pounds at a time...and oila in 4 segments you're there! :) So let's get down to 30 with a smile on!

Hi everyone!
This is such a great idea! May I join the 150 club? I think that is a reasonable goal for me right now. Once I hit the 150 pound mark, I may try and lose more, but that is my goal weight for now.
When I started WISH in January of last year, I weighed around 224-225. I started FIRMing (Hi Lisa! ) and lost about 25 pounds. At one point, I was in Onederland, but that was before I went to WDW in December and then came the holidays. :earseek:
I weigh in twice a month and my next weigh-in is on Tuesday. I hope the scale shows a loss so that I can get closer to that 150 pound mark.
Let's go everyone! We CAN do this! :cheer2:
lmhall2000

Christie..you must have been typing when I was!!! I know how hard it is to lose and gain...but THAT'S IN THE PAST :wave2: Just wave goodbye to those days...you can do this and stay strong until you reach 150...we'll all have a few days of relapse...but we can strengthen each other by knowing we're not alone...we're in this for our own health and our own satisfaction but in the process you're lifting all the rest of us up making us believe we can do it! This is a safe haven...share your challenges and your successes and we'll see each other on to 150's!
Tracy...you'll be or are in Onederland soon! There are quite a few of us lingering around this number and don't be discouraged...whatever you put on you can take off...you proved already you could....share your tips and what your struggles are and someone will benefit from them and/or share some tips that may help you! Take it one day at a time...it'll come! :)
My struggles...portion control and sticking to exercise 5x a week.
What are y'alls struggles?

Room for another member? :) I would love to be a member of the 150 club. My ultimate goal is 144 but to get to the 150's would be a dream as I can't remember the last time I saw those numbers. :faint: My high was 243 and I'm now at 199 on the dot. I had gotten down to 185.6 but the holidays quickly took care of that when I threw caution to the wind. :faint: (Note to self - do not throw caution to the wind again. :teeth: ) So I'm 40 lbs from joining the 150's. For some reason that sounds weigh better than the 50+ lbs I need to lose to get to goal. :) Thanks for starting this thread! I can't wait to see all the members who make it to the 150s. ::yes::
I'm on WW - my tips are to get in your fruits and veggies (I strive for 4 of each daily), stick to as many whole grain and whole foods as possible - make the switch slowly if you need to, try wheat bread on your sandwich, try brown rice instead of white - eventually those changes will be second nature. ::yes:: and of course drink as much water as you can ::yes:: I'll be back with more and can't wait to read everyone else's tips! Thanks again Tara :sunny:

I'd like to join the 150 club. I'm at 169 right now so I need 10 more pounds to get to the 159 marker. It's been hard these last couple weeks and my loss has slowed down signigificanltly but maybe this goal will help to motivate me to the next step!

Hi gang,
I am currently at 212, I weighed 223 on my scale at home when I started 2 weeks ago but I realize the weight is not going to always come off this easily. I've made some changes in my overall lifestyle and while I did it cold turkey I wouldn't recommend it for everyone else, it has been hard but worth it! :flower:
Drink at least 64 oz. water daily
Exercise 6 times per week
Eat 1500 calories a day and stick with low-fat foods
No eating after 7pm with certain planned "cheat" days-like Fri movie night at home
Get at least 7 hours of sleep per night-hard to do when you get up at 4:45AM!
Start thinking more positively about myself, have a better self image. :)
I got to the gym (about 10 miles away) every weekday when they open at 5:30am and have to be back at home by 7am so DH can leave for work (can't leave DS alone!). While it is tough I keeping telling myself that if I could go there when it is -5 degrees, I can go when it is 25, etc...
I've been looking back to my WW days for some old food favorites like Laughing Cow cheese, Skinny corn chips, French Twist by Barry's Bakery and other things that help fill me up, not out!
My goal weight right now is 140, I'm 5'6, almost 5'7" so I know that falls in the "normal" range for that weight, at least according to my doc. It also depends on how much lean muscle I build over time as I am surprised at the trainers in my gym. My trainer told me she weighs 155, but is solid muscle (not the weird kind, if you KWIM?) and since a pounds of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat it is possible to be really lean and healthy at a higher weight.
We'll see how it all turns out, but I'm looking forward to the journey with my 150 friends!
Tara - Thanks again for doing this. I was glad just to get under 200 and then 190's, 180's, etc. 159 gives me a lot to shoot for.
At just under 5'4", I started out at 208 when I joined WW on August 24, 2004 and have been following the progam to a tee :teeth: I've lost 33 pounds so far, so I think I'm right on target. I think writing things down every day has been a huge help, reading labels more, drinking TONS of water (I usually drink over 100 ounces and I this is a HUGE help) and of course working out 5 days with weight training 3 days is also important. I focus on small goals (getting those pound clippies) and like Tara says, it took years for some of us to put the weight on, so it won't come and shouldn't come off too quickly. For my height, I should be between 116 and 145 pounds ( I can't even remember the last time I was in the 140's) I would like my final goal to be somewhere between 135 and 139 pounds (just to say I'm under 140 :earboy2:)
Lisa - You are an inspiration to the rest of us. Losing 95 pounds is HUGE and we all know with hard work and determination, it can be done. Congratulations on that and good luck getting to your final goal.

Aww...YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!! What great tips and ideas for keeping us on target! I've really got to work on the exercise end of things. I did complete my 60 minutes yesterday but today my hips and legs are sooo sore..I sure hope I can muster up the strength to get something done today. I have folded 6 loads of laundry...:)

I am so in on this one! Thanks for starting this thread. I am aiming for 150 then will re-evaluate to see how much after that! Three weeks ago I was 200lbs. this week I am at 185, well, that was until I bought a new scale which has me at 189. Don't think I haven't pouted at that development! :confused3 So, I am starting this challenge at 189.
Thanks for the motivation!

WOW!!! 11 or 15 pounds in 3 weeks!! Do share your success secrets!!! Don't keep them to yourself! :) And I'm soo glad that someone else has a bone to pick with their scale...I'm forced to use one that is 5 pounds more than my doctor's scale...but so beit...I'm slowly working it out and facing the music. Atleast a pound is a pound and it will show losses..so don't fear...you'll get to the 150's very soon! WELCOME!! And a little War Eagle out to ya! :thewave:
I'm trying to do low carb and just cut out potatoes and white flour products...but I'm running low on menu ideas...it seems everything I usually cooked had potatoes or white flour in it! :) Any good family dinner ideas that are low-carb friendly? I checked out the recipes up top but would love to hear some others.
Thanks!!!

I'm just checking in. Today is weigh in day for me and I'm down 1.5 pounds so that puts me at 4.5 pounds at the end of the January Lose 5 Pound Challenge that I started! I weigh 185 and am just tickled to death over it.
Tracy - Hi ya' girlie!!! It's nice to see you hear. We both can hit the 150's and then beyond! It's just like Firmin' we just have to do it!!
Teresa - Thanks so much for the encouragement. WISH has been such a big part of my success so far and these challenges are like mile markers along the way when you're on a long car trip. It helps to make the time past by so I love them and this one is right up my alley! Only 25 more pounds to go for me! We can all do this together!!
Tara - have you thought about the Firm work outs? I was doing them at my heaviest. The body sculpting system 1 is a bit less challenging than some of the later versions of the Firm work outs. I also love my new Cathe Friedrich beginner/intermediate work out. It's called Basic Step+Body Fusion. You can check out the Firm's website at www.firmdirect.com and Cathe's site is www.cathe.com - they are both great work outs and you'll see results quickly!

OH, I am *so* in! My goal is around 140, but this is close enough! I've got a looong way to go, but I'm chipping away in 10 pound increments. I'm just going to eat away at those little goals and watch them add up to the big one!

Welcome Pam!!!! You are doing the right thing!!!! 10 pound increments...they look alot better than all those single digit pass-bys! :) We're sooo glad you're joining the club...and we'll be thrilled to see you pass us right by into the 140's! You can do this...one day at a time...and keeping inspired to stay fit and healthy!!!!
Thanks so much Zeras! For the heads up on the FIRM workouts...I've seen it mentioned but never looked into them...I think it's just what I need...hope they have them at Wal-Mart...I'll go buy one tomorrow! I think I can wake up at 6am and get them knocked out before the kids rise for breakfast. I know the exercise will help HUGELY in my attitude and confidence in getting to 150.
Can't wait to try them out! Thanks again!!!!

Hi Everyone,
It looks like this is going to be a very large and successful group.
Today was a good day for me. My family (DH, DS4, DS2 and the family dog) and I were all able to get outside and go for a walk today. Living in Michigan, this is the 1st time in a few weeks that it has been warm enough to get outside for a walk with the kids. Just getting outside for a while sure helps me feel more alert and upbeat. I also had time to use my weight machine this evening. More good news for me, is that my mom bought a new treadmill and has offered me her old one. :Pinkbounc Next week we are going to pick it up and put it in the new family room in the basement, so I can start getting up earlier in the moring and exercise before work.
Tara - Thank you for the encouragement, I was feeling kinda frustrated with my knee and your encourangement was just what I needed to keep me from giving up. By the way I have 87 pounds to go to reach 159.

Good Morning Team Mates!! :cool1:
It is going to be 36 degrees in the Chicagoland area!! WOO HOO!! Hopefully we are done with the worst of winter.
Regina - how did you enjoy your walk outside? Was the sun shining?
How is the rest of the gang doing?
Got up this am and walked a mile on the TM at a pretty good clip. Felt pretty good. Have already drank a bottle of water and now am enjoying my coffee.
Today's plan is to stay OP with WW, get some more exercise in after work and pay some bills (now that is a depressing thought
Anyway everyone have a HAPPY MONDAY!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
Keep your eye on the goal of 150's - Once we start nothing can stop us but ourselves :grouphug:
Have a magical Disney Day!! :earboy2:

Regina! That is sooo great you went for a walk with the family! Especially with bad weather....you'd be walking every day in TN...so what's my excuse???? You're encouraging me to get out there!! I think we get spoiled...you wait for temperatures above freezing and I wait for the 50's! :)
I think I'll try and start every morning with just a short walk around the block with the kids...then work in an exercise video in the afternoons. That seems to be when I'm sooo tired...on mornings I can make myself get up at 6am I'll do it...I was supposed to get up this morning but my legs are still sooo sore from overdoing it at the YMCA on Saturday.
Chrismiss!! I wouldn't want to walk in those Chicago winds...but I bet it's great for building muscle tone! WOWEE! What a sweet mom! And way to go on the weight machine..that weight will come off faster with a lean body under it! :) Keep up the great work...
Am I the only one who has dreams about food? I dreamed last night I licked icing off some cookies my mother made and then all I could think of "is that enough sugar to throw me out of ketosis?" It's nuts I tell ya!
Oh! And I still weighed 196.5 for 3 days in a row...my legs are soo sore I"m hoping it's just water hanging on trying to heal the damage I did to myself...
I weigh on Thursdays and will update my progress on page one...whenever your weigh day or weigh month is (I know some may not be weighing) just post your weight change for your week and I'll change the front page to reflect the change...

Mornin', ladies! I hit the gym before work this morning and officially started my Couch to 5K plan. I'm using this as my preparation for marathon training (gotta get a Mickey Medal, ya know!)
I'm drinking my water and sticking to eating goals. By the time I turn 40 (in November) I'll be a brand new me!

Good afternoon Club 150!! :cool1:
Usually, I try to get my exercise in in the morning, but today I was working on DH's taxes. (He is self-employed.) We are trying to get all of the information to the accountant by Friday so I may not exercise as much as usual.
I did make my goal of 1000 minutes of exercise in January though! :Pinkbounc I had to really kick it up a notch the past few days, but I did it and I am :teeth: about it!
Weigh-in is tomorrow so we shall see what has happened since my last weigh in on January 15th. When I sit down and make my February goals, that may include weighing myself more than twice a month so I can monitor progress better.
Have a wonderful day today! Go team!!! :cheer2:

WOOHOO!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc And what a great goal to start a 5k in April...the tulips will be out and the birds will be singing..and you'll be on your way to a fit new you!!! Keep up the great work!!!
To the "twinkies". :sunny: ..I notice alot of us have similar weight stories...but having the same birthday and month is pretty cool!!!! WHAT A GREAT WAY to turn 40...by being fitter than you were in your 30's!!! Y'all will be an inspiration to me...can't wait to wish you both a Happy Birthday in or near 150's!!! :)
Toystory...good luck on the taxes! It must be a bear being self-employed and having to keep track of much! AND WAWOO on 1000 minutes of exercise!!! Do you realize that is AWESOME!!! And it's probably more exercise than I've done in 3 months! OUCH! But, count me in there with you...I passed on early am exercise tape for rest and soreness from working out Saturday...I really can't let that happen...I'll shoot for 1000 minutes with you for February and wouldn't it be great if we could be at 2/20 and be able to over do those minutes??? And February is a short month so we gotta get cracking! :) :dancer:

Thanks for the welcome Tara! You were asking about recipes, my main lifesaver is always keeping grilled chicken breasts in the freezer. We grill up about 32 at a time with different marinades or rubs that way when I don't have anything in mind or ready to fix for lunch/dinner I can always have chicken and veggies or a grilled chicken salad. I am trying to eat fish at least 2 nights a week and red meat only once a week because I am trying to get off the BP meds and get the cholesterol down. Ugh, what a drag!
So it is low-fat, low-sodium, low-cholesterol....no fun for me!! :)

Just checking in and having a really great day, almost too easy! Makes me wonder what I'll be hungry for later, LOL!
I've been trying to do lots of crunches at home on my AbRoller and am really starting to feel a bit of difference. For someone like me who is really heavy in the abdomen, it is nice to actually see something move when I suck my stomach in, heheee :rotfl:
Sounds like everyone is having a great start to the week, I'm getting all my stuff ready to go to the accountant on Friday as I am self-employed as well. What fun that is!
I'm 35 and will be 36 in Oct and have promised myself that a healthier me is the best present I can give myself. Hope I like it! :)
Tigger, ITA about keeping chix breasts in the freezer, it makes a huge difference when you just don't know what to make for dinner. :confused3
Tara-I love that dancing guy!

And this half of the "twinkies" HAS twinkies! LOL!
I hope for my craving sake you have twin children and not twinkies in your house!!! :) Actually, I've never been a fan of twinkies but little debbie nutty bars will get me everytime! :)
I vow never to mention junk food again...it's neither encouraging nor inspiring! :earboy2:
Any rubs you like for chicken breasts? and once you freeze them...how do you thaw them out...in the frig or oven? I'm so bad at freezing and rethawing cooked things...I'm sure it's really simple. And fish is hard for me to get in...I'm pretty good at getting tuna out of the can but my kids won't eat the grilled fillets...only the kind with breading on it...and I am too unsure about buying fresh fish...so it seems I have to pick all the breading off and eat the fish...which isn't much....any fish recipes you want to pass along please do!! Salmon is the only thing I've had luck with....I have a dill seasoning from Pampered Chef and I mix it with butter then top it on the salmon and bake until done and flaky.
We had a showing today...so I'm going to have to mention "showing" as a form of exercise...it takes me 60 minutes to do all the bathrooms, vacuum all the rooms, sweep mop kitchen and race to properly make the beds and tidy up...surely that's got to count! :) I got all that done but left my purse on the counter along with my dog leash and the dog bowl out...we try to hide those in case some buyers don't like indoor dogs. Oh well.
Onwards & Downwards gang....oh, I get to go out on Thursday to a restaurant with some gal pals (about a once a year deal) I almost never eat out...what are your favorite meals to eat out and still feel like you're sticking to plan whether it's WW or low-carb.
Oh and when I get to the 150's I'll videotape myself dancing like that dancing guy...I'm working on the moves!
Thanks!

Here's my absolute favorite marinade for the chicken
Cajun Marinade
½ C olive oil (I have reduced to 1/4 C with good results)
¼ C vinegar (I use apple cider vinegar but white works just fine)
2 cloves crushed garlic
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp salt
½ tsp ground hot red pepper
½ paprika
½ tsp black pepper
* If more heat is desired add 1/8 tsp ground cayenne pepper
Combine all ingredients and pour over chicken. Marinate at least 4 hours. Grill!
Yeild: ¾ cup – enough for 8 boneless skinless breasts
I thaw the breasts in the microwave. And as for fish I use the Gorton's Grilled Fillets, the blacked, garlic butter, and lemon pepper are pretty good. They also have a grilled salmon that's good. If we go out to eat I usually get fish too. No one else here will eat it!
I wish y'all would sprinkle some workout dust on me you seem to do great with it and I am just not into it right now!
Keep up the good work!

Hi Everyone,
It was another good day here, the weather was nice and sunny and decent out so the kids and I went out and played in the snow for about an hour after their naps. I was also able to get on my eliptical machine for about 10 min.,while the knee is feeling better it is not 100% so I am still taking it a little on the easy side.
The diet also when well today, I was able to avoid snacking when I have the kids their snacks which is always hard for me to do. I go back to work tomorrow and then it is easier to stick to my diet.
Tiggerkeeper - Your chicken marinade recipe sounds great, I'll have to give it a try next weekend.

Thanks for the great recipe...it sounds yummy! can't wait to try it...do you save the marinade and brush it on while grilling or is 4 hours marinating enough? It'll be much tastier than my plain old grilled chicken! :)
Regina...you're doing the right thing...take it slow and focus on the time you can't get the exercise up as much as you want...onto your eating...you can still lose weight without exercise ..you just generally feel better if you can. And make sure you're eating enough...I went through a slump last week with issues with our family pet and other stuff that made me lose my appetite.. I don't think I ever went over 1000 calories a day or even 500 on some...and my scales stalled....eating the right foods and enough of them makes the difference...not to mention water...I'm bad about getting enough..it seems like I drink 32 oz. and stop...need to work on that, too.
Tip of the day...I have a pair of size 10 jeans that hang in my closet along with a size M sweater...I look at that outfit and tell it to "hang in there" I'll be taking you out soon! :) Just visualizing me in them is enough to make it to lunch without snacking...then I have to come back here and check in with you guys to hold me over to dinner! :)
Tara

Hey Tera, that's great! You'll be there in no time! Where in CO are you? My Dad lives in Vail and we love it out there, such a beautiful state. Now there exercise might come easier for me so much to do! LOL!
Tara, the 4 hours is plenty and I wouldn't use the marinade for basting (safety issues) I have put the breasts and marinade in a Food Saver bag for 1 hours and it has been very flavorful! Guess the commercial are right about vacuum sealing speeding up the marinade time.
If there are any other recipes out there for chicken PLEASE share!!
Have a great day!

YEAH TERA!!! YEAH TERA!!!
Tiggerkeeper..for chicken on lowcarb I sometimes will dip a chicken breast in beaten egg then roll it in parmesan cheese....(I flatten out the chicken first) And sautee it in 2 TB olive oil...It's pretty tasty.
Any praying folks out there...we had a second showing today two days in a row from the same prospect..please say a prayer God will deliver an offer. That will go A LONG way in helping me get to goal..if dh and I were living in the same town my excuses for not exercising would diminish greatly. I'm off to do my WATP...haven't had a chance to get the FIRM ones yet...anxious to get them!

Maybe I'll join . . .
I started at 275, got down to 194, then back up to 206 after my Thanksgiving, Christmas, daughter's wedding :) :) :), now I am back down to 197.5. I have never dared to think that I could get down to the 150's, but maybe it's time to go for it!
I eat Atkins. I lost most of the weight from Jan 2003 - Jan 2004, and did real well with slow weight loss/maintenance from Jan - Nov 2004. Now I restarted induction, and I have lost 9.5 pounds in 2 weeks - yippee! I will do my darndest to keep it coming off.
I am also exercising on a treadmill now, and I really like it. I also try to walk around the office for every little task instead of sitting and waiting until I have a bunch of stuff to take care of at once. I "bounce" up and down as often as possible.
I was just at WDW 2 weeks ago, and I have to say that I was so much more comfortable and active than when I was 80 pounds heavier. I eben insisted on walking around the resort (SOG) just to see what was there AFTER a whole day in the parks. My sister thought I was nuts, but I felt great!
Good luck to us all!

but maybe it's time to go for it!
YES! DISBOO, YES!!! Welcome and HUGE APPLAUSE For your incredible weight loss already! I think when you lose that much your body needs some time to adjust and just get used to the new size...and if now is the time you feel ready to tackle the challenge again...then we're here for you!!! You and I have practically the same amount to lose...if we stick to plan and moderate weekly losses we should be in the 150's by 4th of July!!! Just think of the celebrating you could do!!! :)
And we'll help all of us stay on track and keep our eyes on the goal...we all will have bad weeks and slip-ups but the key is to make those be fewer and far between...every pound is 4 sticks of butter gone off your body somewhere! :) Every little pound/half pound adds up to a healthier new you!

Hi :wave2:
I would love to join the 150 club, if that's alright.
I got to Onderland last year, but with a couple of weeks at WDW during the summer and not getting back on plan until the last few weeks, my weight has gone back up. I lost just over 5lbs for the January challenge, so my weight now is 214lbs  .
I really need to get back to visiting WISH more often.
I have a very supportive husband who is trying to loose weight as well, also I have lots of support from my WISH buddy.
Hope everyone is having a great day

No, no, no, no...that just won't dooo! We can't tear up over something that's in the past...holidays and life get in our path and it's hard to veer around them...it's just a bump in the road and you've come to the right place to CHEER you down to Onederland again and then to 150's!! We've all been there..but don't get discouraged...what a wonderful treat to have a supportive husband who wants to get fit, too...Sometimes my husband and I will have a little challenge between the two of us...we both give up something for 100 days and hold each other to it (mine is french fries and white bread)...and the first to lose 10 pounds gets to spend $50 on something frivolous we'd never buy for ourselves...we can't do that every 10 pounds but it probably would be worth it! :)
Let us know when you dip back into the 200 single digits...that's a huge step toward GOAL!!!
Where is Nottinghamshire? Keep up the great attitude and no fretting about where you've been and where you are now..all that matters is where you'll be tomorrow and the next day...YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

Just what I needed! Some support and someone to own up to! My name is Terry and I am down to 172. I have lost 8 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks. I need to lose weight before our Easter trip and 150s would be wonderful! :) I had my 3rd child over a year ago and I weigh almost as much as I did at the end of pregnancy!!!! I am very sad about my weight since before the pregnancy I lost 40 pounds with WW and started to wear belts with shirts tucked in!!!! I want to say good bye to elastic  and hello belts!!!
I have given up a lot of my soda! I LOVE SODA!!! And started to drink lots of water instead. My downfall is making food for the kids and picking off their plates or not wanting to waste!! SO IT GOES ON MY WAIST! :sunny: I am learning!

Terry...rule #1...you can't feel bad about how or when you got where you are...you're BEAUTIFUL, STRONG, DETERMINED and FOCUSED!!! AND WOW!!! 172 is just 13 pounds away from the tip of 150's!!! And you'll be tucking in those shirts before you know it! In fact, I encourage you to buy an outfit you can tuck in for your Easter trip! :) And even if you have a no-loss week remember to measure inches....sometimes the scale won't move but you're still SMALLER!! And the way I look at it..there should be a 2 year rule for losing that baby fat! :) For me it's the 5-6 year rule! :) But at whatever juncture you're at you're at the right place for encouragment and support...lots of that going on here....we all want to hear that 150 Bell ring!!! :)
4togo!!! YES YOU CAN MAKE IT TO THE 160's by March 1st!!! Stay focused on feeding yourself well...getting your heartrate up for a good 30 minutes or more...and focusing on getting healthy...not necessarily a number....although we're the 150 club we're setting a range of 150-159 because just getting there and staying there or going lower proves that you've made healthy changes that will last you for years to come! Welcome! And can't wait to post your updates as you lose those pounds!!! :)
Have a day trip tomorrow...here's hoping I can avoid the urge for fast food driving 3 hours there and 3 hours back...loading my cupholders with water! :)

Welcome all the new faces, I hope you find the same motivation that I have in having somewhere to go to get the extra support I need, and to share my success as it comes.
Todays success was a drank my water, I struggle with this, and today I drank 68 oz. I found that today I was less hungry and had more energy to exercise this evening.

Taking tomorrow off so I can be with her and if necessary take her to the doctor. Will make time for exercise!!
Also had popcorn after 730......bad me!!

Count me in! I'll be thrilled with being in the 150's, tho I need and hope to go lower - at least 144 to be at top end of WW goal. My Dr. says 135/140 max.
I first joined WW in late Jan 2003, lost 37 lbs - made it to 162.2 and then life fell apart and I fell off program. I restarted several times but just couldn't do it. I restarted in Jan for the LAST time at 185.6 and have lost 8 lbs.
I've a wedding in FL 7/2 that I need to get into clothes for and just need to lose for health.
Thanks all for the support. I am definitely one who can't do this alone!!

I'm just checking in with guys. Today is one of those "blah" days for me. I had to force myself to take a rest day from my work outs because I'm so sore and I just feel off, I'm sure some of you regular exercisers probably can relate.
The scale is up 3 pounds for no good reason this morning. I do feel a lot of water retention and have been eating later at night than I'd like so that might have something to do with it. Sorry for the whiny post. I'm going to go and think of 5 things that I have to be happy about/grateful for and work on my attitude!
Have a great day gals and I'll check back later. :)

Good morning 150ers!
Yesterday was a disappointment for me. I weighed in and I only lost 1 pound!!! :( The reason that bothers me is because I had kicked up my workouts a few notches and thought for sure that I would see a greater loss than 1 pound! :confused3 I guess I should be happy that it isn't a gain though. ;)
Linda~ Sending big hugs your way, girl! I know that your daughter so appreciates her mom taking extra special care of her when she is sick. :grouphug: I bet she'll be ready to celebrate her birthday soon! :bday:
Tara~ Sending some prayers your way for an offer on your home. How did that go? Any good news to share with us? Thank you so much for being such an encouragement to all of us! Your posts are always full of :sunny: !
Have a great day everyone! Remember, you CAN do it!!! :cheer2:

What a cute moniker!!! I think we need to create a gold cup or trophy award that says 150's and mail it to each member who makes it to the 150's! You can keep it for as long as it takes another member to make it then you mail it to them...How does that sound??? Tangent attack...I get sidetracked easily! :) Welcome!!! Tiggerkeeper is right...this is the LAST time you'll see the 180's, the 170's AND the 160's!!! We're gonna hold ya to it! And you've got plenty of time before that wedding...so let's get at those pounds! :)
Tiggerkeeper..I LOVE your attitude...and I sooo needed it today! Had a 6 hour drive today...I'm beat...but I did avoid sugar and most carbs..except for the breading on my chicken fingers...still haven't heard on our house and the builder in the state we're supposed to be living in is pressuring me to close or he'll market it....we put SOOOO much into that house and I hate feeling pressure..we just can't handle two mortgage payments..SELL HOUSE SELL!!! (Meaning ours in TN, not AL!)
Zeraspride!!! I firmly believe you need a good solid day or two off a week when you're regularly exercising...listen to your body..when you're too tired it's telling you to rest...also just because you're not exercising try and keep your water intake up there...it's easy to miss out when you're not craving it after a big workout. And blast those scales!! I was up 2 pounds and had no carbs/plenty of water and really sticking to my guns...but I'm sure there'll be a whoosh tomorrow...I think I've had too many salty foods. But your scale is most likely reflecting a blip...I had lots of those when exercising regularly...your muscles demand things at different times and today it's demanding water....it'll let it go soon!!!
TOY STORY DUO!!! AAAAGHHHH!!! I WON'T HAVE IT!!!!! A P..P..P..POUND is HUMONGOUS!!! My husband's doctor had a sample of how much a pound of fat is and it looks bigger than a mountain of 4 butter sticks...it was all lumpy and gross. YOU NO LONGER HAVE THAT ONE!!!!! And your awesome workouts have undoubtedly tricked your body into thinking it's training for a marathon so some weeks it may try to reserve some energy...once it knows this is a habit and not a month out of the year phenomenon...the weight will steadily come down...just don't let your discouragment turn into cravings...that's my hardest...I talk myself into sabotaging myself "Gee...Tara you were sooo good on your diet...so disciplined...and you only lost a pound...you deserve a cookie!" :) YOU DESERVE A BIG PAT ON THE BACK and HURRAH for one pound gone!!!!
Sadeeyore...I didn't realize it was called Nottinghamshire...I went to Nottingham and walked the grounds of the castle ruins...even went to Sherwood Forest and that little museum they have there...that was one of my favorite areas. We're taking our kids there for their first trip abroad and trying to plan what all we can see in 10 days...not much I bet! :) When we both make it to 150's by then..you can guarantee I'll ring you up!!! Stay strong and I hope the sun starts shining for you soon and all those pretty flowers get into bloom...that always sparks my energy up! :)
Off to try and figure out some way to exercise! :) Can't find my WATP tape (guess I packed it up) and there's no way I'm getting back in that car after a 6 hour drive by myself listening to AM radio! :)
ONWARDS & DOWNWARDS!!! Let me know about the trophy..I'm serious...I'll buy it myself and snap a picture of it so you all will want to keep it at your house!! :)

Hi Everyone :wave2: How are my fellow members today? From those of you who exercise daily or pretty often what is it that inspires you? What gets you off the couch and out the door to the gym or down your street for a walk or on to the machine in the corner of your bedroom? I am struggling SO much with the exercise. I have the food plan down pretty well and am doing great but know I could really amp up the loss and get to the 150's sooner if I'd just stick to my exercise program. I have a long term goal of running a 5K in November but now can only run 1 mile so I'm a LONG way from that goal. I feel like I have tried everything. Made notes for myself reminding me to get my exercise in and how much it helps, etc., layed out my running clothes so they are waiting for me when I get home, joined a gym so the weather can't be an excuse, made a plan of what I'll do what days. I seem to be all raring to go until 4:30 when it's time to leave work and in the 5 minutes it takes me to get home my get up and go disappears and I make tons of excuses and next thing you know I'm on the internet, cooking dinner, watching TV - anything but where I want to be EXERCISING. So help me out everyone - motivate me! :teeth:

kayeandjim00 - I work out just about everyday. I find it to be such a stress releaser. Also, even when I don't feel like it, I "just do it". It has literally become part of my dail routine. I get up an extra 30-40 minutes early to get in a work out and make it a priority. I think that's my "secret". I don't eat breakfast, take a shower or do anything else (even on the weekends) until I work out. I know I can wear smaller sizes because of my daily work outs than I could if I was just doing a healthy eating plan. I weigh 185 pounds and am 5'-3/4" and wear a size 12. I didn't think I'd be in this size until I was at least 160 pounds or so. That's definitely a motivator. Plus, I do believe I can eat a little bit more since I exercise everyday and not be as strict as I would normally have to be because of the daily exercise. I hope something I said helps you out. I know it's not easy to get started but once you make it a part of your regular routine, you won't allow yourself to miss a work out!

You're no longer out in the wilderness any longer...you're in an exclusive group that will cheer you down to the 150's!!! Then I hope some groups will form some 130 clubs to catch all of you shrinking ladies! :) We'd love for you to stay here regardless so we can celebrate you hitting goal no matter where it is!!! :) So what about losing weight do you love????
Kaye...Zeraspride is soooo right! We have to somehow make it a priority..it's taken me 2 weeks to get my eating where it should be but I, too, have found all the reasons to avoid exercise....when I know I could do it. AND WAIT A SECOND...DID I HEAR YOU LAMENTING only being able to run a mile????? Girl, I could NEVER RUN A MILE!!! THAT IS HUGE!!! You should be sooo happy!!! Is it possible for you to get up early and make it the first thing you knock off your list like Zera? I'm going to try and start tomorrow...how about let's commit to working out in the am 3 days this week and see if you like it better than evening after work...the only video I have is ABS of STEEL...but I guess I could jog in place before and after...so how about it...I'm in!!!
Let's get these pounds off!!!

CHRISMISS!!! 2 POUNDS is a BANNER DAY!!!!  BRAVO! BRAVISSIMO!! You'll do fine going to pick up daughter...just remember to drink your water and tell her what a great losing week you had and she'll keep you in check with any poor food choices...It'll be great to have them all together this weekend...instead of munching on Superbowl snacks...go out and have a girls shopping trip to buy you an inspiration outfit! :) And let THEM pick it out! :)
As for me...I've lost .5 pounds since my last official weigh in...that's 1.5 pounds less than what I had down for me on our members list..so now I only have 35.5 pounds to go!!! :) This was a hard week for me...added in carbs and had a stressful go of it with life (dog's surgery, two kids with strep, 2 showings on the house waiting to sell) but I've got to realize life happens whether I'm losing or gaining...just want to be on the losing side for the next 5 months!
LET'S GET THOSE POUNDS OFF!!! ONWARDS & DOWNWARDS!!!
P.S....oh and let me know if you're weigh ins are your weekly submission...I weigh everyday but only count my Thursday weigh ins...some of you have mentioned a gain or a loss but I'm not sure if it's your weekly and I should post it for you.
Even if we have a gain, we'll be inspired by the efforts of all of us that will help us get to a losing week.

The enemy made its way into the house last night! :earseek: The chocolate chocolate chip muffins are here in a tupperware box on the counter in the kitchen! Tiggerkeeper!!! YOU DID GREAT!!!! I remember when my husband (dear isn't he) brought home an 8 pack of giant Cinnabon rolls from a business trip (the only Cinnabon near us is at the airport)....I served each of the kids one for breakfast and threw that nasty box in the garbage!!! I could have smeared it on my husband's pillow! :)
STAY STRONG... NO MUFFINS NO!!! YOU WILL NOT SABOTAGE TIGGERKEEPER!!! And if they become too much of a temptation...tell your willowy dd that you'd like to have a muffin eating contest between her and her sister and you'll videotape it.
GREAT JOB ON RESISTING TEMPTATION!!! I went to Costco today and the kids were hungry..theyhad pizza and a cinnamon sugar pretzel (wHOAH CARB OVERLOAD)...I admit I did lick the cinnamon off my fingers after I split it and had 4 pepperoni's but I didn't have a bite of anything! :)

Hi 150 club members,
I'm checking for the day. The scale is not being kind to me today but that's okay. My official weigh in day is Sunday so I know there will be fluxuations during the week . . . Hi, name is Lisa, and I'm a scale addict!
Tara - congrats on your 1.5 pound loss! That is just awesome!
chrismis - 2 pounds is a wonderful loss!! We are so proud of you!
wilderness - welcome to the club!
Tiggerkeeper - what a great job you did in resisting those muffins. I hope you don't mind if I borrow your technique. Some mornings it's harder than others for me to get up and work out (even though I do force myself) but I think seeing 150 on my Firm execise box will give me the motivation I need to work out minus the grumbling! I also might put a sticker that says 150 on the container of no sugar ice cream in my freezer!

I got up this morning and the scale did not budge an inch. :sad2: I did pretty good with the food intake and had such a good workout. Stayed on the WM for 37 min and ran 2.35 miles. It felt so good and I thought my scale would budge just a little today. For the rest of the day I just wanted to plow my head into a box of doughnuts.

It has been a rough couple of days here, DS2 started running a fever yesterday evening (103.5) and then today complained that his ear hurt. We took him to the doctor and confirmed that it is an ear infection. With him being sick it has been hard to get my exercise in and to stay with my diet. I did ok with my exercise, but my diet did not go so well today. Hopefully the medicine will kick in soon so I can get back on track. Friday is weigh-in day so hopefully I will see some success this week.

4togo - Step away from the doughnuts! They won't help the scales at all! Sometimes our bodies play tricks on us and tomorrow you might wake up with a big whoosh on the scales and you'll be so glad you didn't give in to temptation. Hang in there and the pounds will start dropping I promise.
Regina - I hope your son is feeling better soon! It must be hard to stay OP when you are taking care of sick little ones. ::yes:: Hang in there and do your best - he'll be feeling better soon and you can get back to your routine.
Lisa & Tara - Thanks so much for the encouragement. I know if I could just get in a routine some of my excuses would slip away but it's been quite the struggle to get to that point. I don't do well with videos - I take that back - I do good BUYING them just not USING them. I find it so hard to follow along with them for some reason. I am really going to consider working out in the morning it's something I've been wanting to try but just haven't figured out the logistics of getting to the gym and making it to work on time as they are in opposite directions. I'm going to think about that and see if I can make it work. Thanks again to you both. :goodvibes:
Keep up the great work everyone! Remember ever lb gone is a lb closer to 159!! :hyper:

YES!!! KAYE is soo right..STEP AWAY FROM THE DONUTS!!! Or better yet do a little jig on top of the box..then pour some bacon grease on them and trash them! :) Dontcha hate it when you have an AWESOME week of disciplined eating...manage to change your schedule to fit some powerful workouts in and the scale doesn't budge??? Well, here's the GOOD NEWS!!!! Those workouts create stronger muscle cells...they require LOTS of water and nutrients...for the first 6-8 weeks of steady exercise your body realizes this is not a trick..that you're doing this on purpose and it doesn't have to hold on to that water and extra nutrients..."Hey," says the muscle, "I can get some nutrients right here from this fat storage".....and then you become one efficient little machine....you'll find you can eat more (still good foods of course) and still lose weight! 2 months after I started walking 20 miles a week...I promise you I ate decently, even had a brownie or two and the weight still came off! So give yourself a pat on the back and realize your body's adjusting and will soon be paying off in spades!
Regina...oh I soo hope ds pulls through soon! It's very hard seeing them sick and I agree..near impossible to plan or accomplish much than keeping them comfortable. Drink your water and get some fruits in there with vitamin C to help keep your energy up...then try to get back on plan when he's well and you're well rested to add the exercise and get the right foods at the grocery. You'll do well, just stay strong!!!
Kaye, I'm right with you with the videos...that's why I packed all of them away although we haven't moved yet. I'm going to give it another shot...atleast until my hubby and I are in the same state and I can walk the sidewalks before he goes to work...it's so hard to make it to the gym, too...can you find a workout buddy there? Our YMCA has buddy systems that keep you going. I just prefer walking outdoors to treadmill or weights...ugh..more excuses!! :) We'll figure this out!! :)

Hi everyone.. I am joining in!! My end goal is 135 but I do need to get to 150 first!
I would love to be at 150 by August 1st. Then get to 135 by Dec 1st, out next trip to WDW.
I am working on drinking lots more water too. Minimum of 72 oz a day, goal of 96 oz a day. I have been doing it since the beginning of Feb. Feeling really good about it. It helps me not eat so much during the days.
Today I have already had my 72oz so only 3 more glasses to reach my goal!! I look forward to being a Great Big Loser with you all!

Got a WDW trip in May (daughter's band marching) and
would like to be well on my way to 150 and then my niece's

Sure!! You just post a weekly change (+ or -) and I'll update it on the front page..we'll be cheering everyone as they enter the 150's and hopefully for a few pass right on through! You will FEEL GREAT being fit and ready for those grand events this summer..glad you joined us so we can be inspired and encouraged by you!
Gang, I just did an hour of pilates...it's okay..never tried it before...I think it's great for lengthening your muscles and easy to do if you're not feeling raring to go...so I think I'll go buy a FIRM and use that most days and the Pilates 1-2x a week. But, hey, I actually did something and with a sore throat! :)
Call me pleased! :)
Now if I could just go drink a gallon of water...it's 5:30 and I haven't even had one glass!!! I've had 1/2 a diet coke and an orange...slap me!!! For food I did egg/sausage and turkey/cheese for lunch...where's my WATER!!! and veggies!!

Are y'all still taking members? I see some familiar folks here. I'm on my way to 135, but need to pass the 150s to get there.
I weighed 177 at the beginning of Jan, but, in starting to condition for half-marathon training, I was 174 at the beginning of Feb. That would mean 15 lbs to lose to get to 159 (that doesn't sound so bad!). I weigh daily 'cause I'm compulsive, but I only count Mondays.
I'd like to lose 20lbs or so by the time marathon training starts in Sept, then hopefully, the rest will soon follow!

Hi fellow losers,
Congradulations to all who lost this week, keep up the good work. Welcome to all of the new faces.
Today was weigh-in for me and I lost 3lbs :cheer2: :cheer2: . This week I managed to exercise everyday and drank 64oz of water 5 out of the 7 days.
One thing that helped me this week is to take short break at work a few times a day and walk the hall. The office building I work in is 1/4 mile from one end to the other and back, since I work at one end I get up and walk down and back at least 3 times a day.
Ds is feeling better and is back to his old self, unfortunatly I now have a cold. But I look at it this way, with a cold I drink more water since I have to breath through my mouth and I have to force myself to eat something the only thing suffering is my exercise.

After being so down yesterday, I read your emails and I felt so motivated again. I got back on the WM and ran for another 2.25 miles for 35 min. It felt so good and when I got back up on the scale this morning I lost 2.5 pds and I'm now at 174.5. :cool1:
You guys are the GREATEST! Tara! you keep us all going!

The water's warm and if you're not careful you might be kicked by a member doing water aerobics!! :) Humor is not my forte! :) You are doing GREAT!!!! 174 is AWESOME and sooo close to 150's!!! Just a breath into 160's and down you'll slide!!! That marathon training will whittle it off you in no time! :)
REGINA!!!   wooweeeeeeee girl!!! 3 pounds is HUGE!!!! You are SOOO inspiring me to commit to an exercise daily...and your water is AWESOME!!! So glad to hear ds is doing better...but a little icky that now you're under the weather...just remember when we go through sickie days the scales can do some strange things so don't worry if they're acting up! But the water will help you and if you have a sore throat...an old biology professor at school told me to chew a zinc tablet and swallow orange juice and boy that zinc tastes AWFUL but it really takes away the sore throat!!! :) Much better than gargling salt water! :) STAY STRONG and be encouraged by your great efforts and discipline this week!!! :)
4togo!!!!  :p I'll count the little pink face as half a pound....each pound gone is a banana!!! :) Your organs in your body and your bones are celebrating not having to nourish those 2.5 pounds of goo!!! :) You're gonna let that smooth muscle tissue SHINE THROUGH!!!! And thanks for the heads up on Superbowl...I had totally forgotten and my hubby will definitely want some snacks...wonder if he'll go for celery sticks?
I'm in there with Regina...sore throat and such...but I did manage the pilates...but tonight for dinner I was too tired to cook so I ordered pizza for the kids (didn't even tempt me) and I had some hot wings...but I made the mistake of ordering the Cinnastix...avoided those too...but couldn't help swiping the icing cup after I had poured it on them....aaagh!! That's how it starts with me...just an innocent little swig of sugar and I am eating cookie dough the next day...but I'm here to confess it and gain control before my cravings take over....no more sugar!!!! I need veggies and fruits!!! :)
Thanks guys!! You are all making me realize I can make it to the 150's...a week at a time!

Okay, Tara, you DIDN'T eat the pizza, and you DIDN'T eat the cinnastix, and you DIDN'T eat the whole cup of icing. I'd say that is FANTASTIC! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Today, you will drink (your water :cool1: ) 'til the cows come home and you will not crave the cookie dough. My DD's went out and bought cookie dough yesterday....luckily, it was chocolate chip, and if I'm going to waste calories on cookie dough, make it shortbread, please. :rotfl2:
I haven't lost weight this week, but I'm off for my third visit to Curves and this is the first week in months that I've done that. Yeah!

WOW! Debbie!!! You sounded just like Katholyn! :) I so do miss her. You're right...I can't let one uninhibited swipe of icing sabotage 16 days of WAWOO discipline!!! That's the longest I've gone disciplined with my eating in probably a year! :) So, whatever the scales say today I'm gonna suck it up and get some walking in today and hopefully with my frantic Saturday morning cleaning I will burn some of that sugar off.
And, guys, you'll see me a lot here...encouraging and supporting all your successes and challenges makes me realize I'm not alone in this....that's been my number one reason for failure...I lack the support at home...some can do well independently but I work much better in a team than alone...so I rely on y'all to help me through this...any I've always felt that I could do anything while WISH'ing! :)
ONWARDS & DOWNWARDS!!!!

Debbie - Congratulations on making it to Curves 3 times this week, that is a huge step in the right direction.
Tara - Be strong, I can totally relate to one innocent little bite of sugar leading to eating more sweets.
The weather is suppose to be in the upper 40's today and Sunday, so today we are all going to take the dog for walk again. Then on Sunday, since DH doesn't watch football, we are going to take the kids to the zoo for the day.
Good Luck everyone on avoiding the Superbowl snacks.

Well, I am one step closer to the 150 club, I just entered the 200 club (208 this am) and am thrilled. I started out 3 weeks ago in the 220's, then down to the 210's so feeling one step closer to my goal is awesome! I can't wait to see that scale get down below 200-that will really be a great day! :)
Hope everyone has a terrific weekend! :flower:

Regina, I'm not a football fan, DH is a sports JUNKIE---anything to sit in front of the t.v. Enjoy your walks. It'll be fun. Isn't it wonderful to see the sun and to feel some kind of warmth? :sunny:
Tara, I miss Katholyn, too. I see that she is still on the boards, just not here so much. :sad2: That's funny how you referred to me/her, since that is EXACTLY what I see you doing! I know, too, how motivating it is to be the cheerleader on a thread. Keep up the good work! You're fantastic! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Curves was good, and I worked out HARD. Now, I'm off for a short walk. Gotta get back on the walking track. I miss it...Sh!! :earseek:

Tmatthews! STEP AWAY FROM THE COOKIES!!! Don't let those cute little green uniforms fool you....those cookies are nothing but destruction and doom! :) And how did you get yours so earlY??? I had a poor niece who had almost no orders so this piteous aunt stepped up and bought 5 boxes of thin mints (nothing THIN about them!) and 5 boxes of Tagalongs!!! AARGH!!! Thank goodness they haven't seen my front door yet...hoping my other nieces won't mind getting cookies for their birthdays in March! :)
And yes! The weather is warming up...take advantage of it!!! (As I sit reflecting how my children have been out all day in it and I was only outside long enough to give them their picnic lunch and march right back in...my excuse was housework...but how much of that did I get done? oh about 20% !ICK!!!)
But I'm going to do well with my water today...have had 24 oz ( Iknow doesn't sound like much but that's good for me...) and I'll have another 30 oz tonight while we're playing "Pitch" with some friends of ours....doesn't card playing burn calories???
Oh...the weekends...just glad there are only 2 days in them! So hard to be disciplined!

Hi to all!!
Got back late last night from picking up my daughter. Had a great time - got to see the national touring company of 42nd Street!! Love Musicals!! :flower: :flower:
Have not done well in the last two days. No exercise, water or healthy food!! BOOOOOOOOOO to me!!
So tomorrow is a NEW DAY!! Back on track and headed to the 150's :cheer2: :cheer2:

Chrismiss can we just cut and paste your attitude about starting a new day after off plan days??? That is EXACTLY how we should handle them...textbook case in fact! Acknowledge the failure to meet specified goals and say SO LOng past and HELLO TOMORROW!!! 2 days out of 30 good ones won't mean so much! It's when we never say goodbye to the bad days and think we can't pull ourselves back on plan that we lose hope...
Here's to everyone passing this munchie filled weekend (Superbowl fans) with as much discipline as we can muster and then hit Monday flying with confidence that we'll be nearer to 150's than the day before!!!
and I LOVE musicals...what a treat to see 42nd Street!! It really makes me want to get up and dance! :)

Because it's been sooo long since I was in the 170's I'd love to hear what it's like!!!
Here's my take on the 190's for anyone that can be motivated by it...
Believe it or not...it hurts to sit on a wood chair...because I can feel my tailbone!! My XL sweatshirts hang off my arms and my arms don't feel so filled out...my shoulders are taking on more definition (bone wise..need to work on the muscles) I love shaving my legs in the tub now because from the ankle to the knee I really can see the shape of a leg not a sausage! :) And I love my ankles!! They're sticking out on both sides....I won't mention the hips...that's my problem area...but when I lay down my belly does sink below my bones! :) Trying to not get too graphic! :)
So I'm glad to be in the 190's but can't wait to get out of them! :) Onwards & Downwards gang!!!

Well I'm down .8 this week. I can't imagine a bigger wake up call than my loss the past few weeks that I NEED to exercise  I am off for a vacation for 5 days beginning Thursday and my week is crammed with things (unfortunately 2 of them include eating out  ) this week so when I get back first on my list of things to do is WORK OUT! I have to get to the 150's and at this rate it'll take a while. Onward and Downward as Tara said. :) Can't get down as a loss is a loss.

That is AWESOME!!!! .8 pounds is 3 sticks of butter plus some that will no longer be inhabiting your body!!! :) Kick those sticks of butter out the window and say So Long - don't need ya!!!
I feel for ya having to go on vacation and eat out...it does kind of panic me to eat out because in the past that's when I'd go crazy...but the last few times I've eaten out I've made good choices and I feel so much better about them...in fact last night I thought I had blown it...but this morning...even with eating quite a bit compared to what I usually do..I weighed 1.5 pounds less than yesterday! It probably helped that I actually got more than 3 16 oz. of glasses of water in...I had a caesar salad with all the dressing and the whole bowl of salsa with as few chips as I could use to scoop all that salsa in..the salsa is very filling and I avoided all french fries and chicken tenders my kids left over. And remember when you're on vacation you're usually walking alot so you can manage this next week and have a good week!
Have a great vacation and we will MISS YOU!!!!

Good morning Club 150! :sunny:
Today is a beautiful day even though I showed a gain of 2 pounds this week! Ughh!!!!! I have been exercising so much lately that I thought at the very least I would hold steady at 204. But 206????? :sad2: As my DD (age 2) says, "Not fair!"
I have decided that I need to weigh-in weekly from now on. I was only doing it twice a month (the 1st and the 15th) and wasn't really able to keep a close eye on the results. I'll try this for awhile and see how it works out. So, Sunday is the day....
I'm really not understanding why I am not showing a loss. :confused3 As I said, I have been exercising a lot lately and have been watching what I eat. I've been eating a lot of salads and healthier foods lately. So, why no loss? It's very frustrating!
On the positive side, the weather today is beautiful! So, we'll be walking and enjoying the :sunny: .
Have a great Sunday! Know that you CAN do it! :cheer2:

Tracy !!! You are doing great! It could be water... Don't fret! It is going away forever! You can do this! :cheer2:
chrismiss56
02-06-2005, 11:36 AM
Morning to all!! :flower:
Tracy - where are you in your cycle - could it be water weight? Also what have you eaten lately - anything saltier than usual? Again a reason for water weight.
I also have found out (the hard way of course ;) that if I weigh myself too often I make myself CRAZY  So now I try to hold it to once a week.
Ok here is the goal of the day for all...........
Have some of the munchies BUT watch them go into your mouth. Make the effort to stop talking to your friend and realize what your mouth is taking in. It is OK to have a few bites. I find that I need to stop and be aware of what I am eating. I am usually too busy talking (a favorite pastime- ask my DH  and don't pay attention to what I am eating and all of a sudden I have eaten enough for 3 people.
Focus on the goal and the end will always justify the means :cheer2: :cheer2: Group hug time!! :grouphug:
Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

No loss for me this week...but the Turtles are gone. :teeth:
Tracy, how do your clothes fit with the extra pounds? Tighter? Looser? Exercising should build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, hence the looser clothing. Muscle jump starts your metabolism, BUT muscle weighs heavier than fat. Sooooo, you may have lost fat, gained muscle and, in turned, gained weight.
Pick one or more from the following.
Reasons for me to be up this week:
water weight due to monthly cycles
water weight due to salt intake
fat being exchanged for muscle
Keep up the exercising. It's what our body needs and craves.
WHAT a beautiful day! My sister and I walked yesterday-3 miles-and boy did I SLEEP last night (well, and a nap in the late afternoon, too  ) Good luck everyone! We can do this....one day at a time.
lmhall2000

Tracy!! See all the support!!! Debbie and the gang put it plainly...a gain is not necessarily a gain! And the scales do strange things with our bodies...whenever I have an up scale day I take that day and drink only water and try to avoid high salt foods...chili, I've found out is a killer! But for some reason salsa seems to be good for releasing that water! And some days you think you've blown it but the next day you have a loss...whoosh fairies have ways of making the scale go WHeeeeee! So take heart that you're making the right decisions and in a couple of days you'll see a big change. You're soooo close to Onederland it will be a ONEDERFUL DAY!!!
Chrismiss!! I LIKE YOUR PLAN of the day!!! :teacher: Football can be boring with sooo many breaks (although I like the commercials) that I find myself just popping in to my mom's kitchen to see what goodies she has spread out...it's always a feast over there...but she is good at putting out cheese, olives and whole wheat crackers in addition to homemade cookies, cheetos, and potato chips with dip! :) I wish I knew how to knit or crochet I could be constructive with my hands while we watch...
Debbie!! YEAH 3 miles!!!   That's atleast 45 minutes of fat burning body changing action!!! :) Maybe I can fit in a good walk during the game...it'll still be fairly warm out (40's)...you've inspired me to get it done!!!!
We can make it through this munchie day!!!

Hi Tara! Is it too late for me to join in??? I really need something to motivate me and get me going. I have been in a holding pattern for far too long and it is about time I do something about it. I have fallen into a pattern of holiday and stress eating and I need to get out of it. I got on the scale the other day and I was back up to 165 and I hate it!!! I want to lose 10 more pounds and then I am done dieting for good. My WISH is to get to 155 and hold there, so that means I have 10 pounds to go to goal. I am starting back OP tomorrow (Monday) and hope to reach my goal by shorts weather.

:flower: I don't think I could make it to 150's without you!!!! I was sooo happy to see your post!! I loved the threads you started about starting over and I just didn't have it within me to take it to the next level...I was in the same rut you were...but I think this is a GREAT time to lose weight...time enough before Summer clothes and very few holidays where we feel like food must be a part of them...I think it's those first 5 pounds that are key...once I can get past that hump it seems it's harder to not lose weight!!!
Let's get those last 10 pounds OFF and you can wish us all on with your great report on what the 150's are like!!! :)
You can do this and be done with dieting for good...just sensible eating and exercising!!!! So glad to have you here!!!!

Yay! A fellow knitter. I just learned how about a year ago. I learned to crochet when I was 12ish (more than a couple years ago  ), but the whole two-needle thing escaped me. I'm now working on the sleeves for my first sweater! I do find it helps keep me from snacking in the evening. Hard to eat when you've got yarn threaded through your fingers!
We had some glorious weather today :sunny: Still chilly enough to wear a sweatshirt, but I'm a big thermal wimp. Anyone thinking of swimsuit season yet? I'm hoping this year's season is a little less lumpy and jiggly :Pinkbounc

Thanks everyone for your support! I've decided that two things probably have happened: 1. I did eat salty food the night before weigh-in. 2. My clothes are looser than before too! So, I guess the weight gain might be a combination of things for me.
Yesterday, I went way off program, but I did get a 60 minute run/walk in. Today, we may walk if the rain holds off for awhile. If not, then I might just take today as a rest day.

7 inches!!! And clothes fitting looser!!! That's what we want!!! The scale can not be our only measure for success...think of all those inches gone and how much less space your heart has to work to get your body nourished! We'll all have weeks of gains/maintains but inside our body is doing a major overhaul...just by doing the little exercise I have this week (3 hours of pilates) I can tell how out of shape my muscles are!! My tummy is screaming at me....I have a bad back and now I know why...my poor back has been doing all the work!!! I've got to let these ab's take some of the tasks. So stay focused with the great efforts you've put forth...and I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY on the salty foods the night before a weigh in...I had chili one night and bam the scales went up 2 pounds! But within 2 days they were down 3.5 pounds...so go figure. I just want my heart to be happy...my brain will have to get over the number on the scales! :)
GREAT JOB GUYS!!! Let's make this week a strong one!!!

Having a bad day :guilty: Looking for some good vibes!! :goodvibes
I had a 2 1/2 hour break subbing and I was sooooooooooo bored that I almost fell asleep. Well of course I started eating whatever I had in my school bag. Bad me!! Bad me!! Have eaten way too much.
And on top of it I didn't get out of bed this morning to exercise. It was dark and gloomy and misting so I just rolled over and laid there........UGH!!
So now off to the doctor for therapy..........

Chrismiss...it's sooo tough getting motivated some days, isn't it? I really don't know what gets me motivated to exercise...usually it only happens when I can't think of a good excuse not to...it needs to be the other way around...:)
Don't fret about the munchies...it was in the middle of the day...best time for munchies because your body has enough time to use all the energy from them...staying strong tonight and avoiding snacks after dinner will help you make up any difference.
Wake up in the morning and say to yourself...this is going to be a 150 day!! Just go through your day as if you're in the 150's already! I expect I'll have more energy...love the way my clothes fit...and have an extra bounce in my step not having to drag those 100 pounds I had 2 years ago! :) Keep strong and make sure you keep good munchies with you if you ever have a munchie attack again...I don't like melba toast...so I'd keep that around! :)

Chismiss- Hang in there and don't let one bad afternoon get you down, think of what you did accomplish today and start fresh tomorrow.
Zeraspride - WOW 7 inches is fantastic, it must feel really great to fit into a shirt that was not comfortable such a short time ago.
I am holding my own, I have been drinking my 68-70oz of water each day and getting some type of exercise each day. We did make it to the zoo yesterday and it was great to get out and enjoy the weather. It was overcast and about 46 degrees, which is warm considering we have had a colder than normal winter.
The good news is that my knee is better and I was able to give it a light workout today on the weight machine.

Today is a better day!! :cool1: :cool1:
Got this big old body out of bed and did a walking tape . Now I only did a 1 mile express but I am going to look at it that it is better than nothing :rotfl:
Feeling pretty good this morning. Motivated to get back on track.
Saw my osteopath last night and he wants me to focus on aerobic (light impact - have those bad knees) instead of anaerobic exercise. Actually suggested swimming which I haven't done in decades. Have to get past the mental image of a beached whale :rotfl2:
He thinks that an aerobic exercise will help more than the physical therapy I am getting for my knees and back and shoulders. Need to build up my core - you know those flabby stomach muscles.
Any suggestions? I am going to try and check out the local community center also.
Won't get on the scale right now - think I would get depressed - going to focus on getting a good exercise program going.
Rainy and slick here in Chicago..........UGH I hate winter!!
Thanks for the boost yesterday!! :grouphug: Hang in there and keep focusing on the goal :cheer2: You guys are the BEST :cool1:

Linda, that 1 mile express counts big time! :cool1: Glad you are having a better day. Have you ever done water aerobics? It is great, no stress hard workout. Water walking is also a good lower body workout and some classes add arm exercise.
Welcome HINative :wave2: Jump on in! Happy to have you in the 150 Club!
I actually got on the TM yesterday and walked the whole 30 minutes at a higher speed. No whinning! :rotfl: I received some added exercise incentive yesterday...DH and I always celebrate our first date anniversary (this is the 26th) and this year we decided to rent a cabin in Gatlinburg for a long weekend. That means HOT TUB and the ever so scary bathing suit! I have until the end of March to get rid of some of the jiggles!
Hope everyone has a good day! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yes Yes Yes!!! That's what I need!!!
Seeing the 150 Club moving some muscles!!! Any exercise is better than no exercise!!! It changes your attitude, cuts down on cravings, and makes that heart pump healthier!!!
Here's to Tiggerkeeper (WOW 26th Date Anniversary!!!) CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :lovestruc That is just such a great motivator!
Here's to Chrismiss....a mile is a mile!!! In the long run that mile will go more towards shaving off excess pounds over time...anything to train those muscles into thinking we're powerhouses!! :)
Here's to Sarahsmom...YES, we're on this journey together and we couldn't do it without you!!! Your words of encouragment and hugs go along way!!! :teeth:
Here's to the 150 Gang....Let's go out there and rock this Tuesday!!! It's actually in the 50's here in TN (oh and Gatlinburg is GREAT for romance!) so I'm going to try and get the kids out for a walk around the block and maybe a park day..gotta get my pilates in....
Oh...Chrismiss...I bought a dual DVD workout labelled Pilates/Cardiopilates...I have bad knees from seizures I suffered in college (the knees took the brunt of my seizures for 3 years...seizure free for 12 years now) so I have to be careful with them..step aerobics is OUT! But 95% of pilates on this DVD is done on the floor and does not hurt my knee...and the Cardio one is very easy on the knees...the only hard part is a lunging sequence and jumping jacks and I just kind of kick my legs in front of me for that small part...swimming is TOPS!! Also the sit cycle at a low speed to help build up those quadriceps to help protect the knee area.
Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!

Good morning Club 150! :sunny:
Today, I did 62 minutes of exercise this morning! (Super Cardio Sculpt, Kathy Smith Functionally Fit Lower Body Track 1, Super Body Sculp Abs) My total for the month so far:
412 minutes!!!
My goal for the month is 800 minutes because I figured that February is a short month, so less opportunity to exercise. ;)
You know what I figured out too? The reason I think I gained weight at weigh-in? I've been munching on pretzels daily to cut out my junk food cravings. I eat a handful or two of the big pretzels and that keeps me from munching on all the other junk. Never thought about all of the salt and water retention issues. :earseek: Any ideas for a low-fat, low carb crunchy snack with little salt?? (Besides carrots and celery?;) )
Have a great day! You CAN do it! :cheer2:

WOW!!! It must be something in the water....this 150 Club is slamming on the exercise this week!!! Keep reporting...it makes me feel guilty for not doing it!!! 800 Minutes is HUGE for a short month! Your body will LOVE you for it...and I agree...pretzels would not fare me well, either....
Hmmm...let's think of snacks...
Mozzarella cheese sticks
Handful of peanuts (careful with these...if you can get those little airplane sample size..it'll be easier to control!)
deviled eggs (if you can refrigerate them)
summer sausage - just a few slices (thin)
small apple
yogurt
Any sound good? Stick to the lower carb types...they tend to fill me up quickly....keep up the GREAT JOB!!!!

Hi Tara and Fellow 150'ers...
Sorry I haven't been visiting much the past week. You know how it goes :earseek: Just got home from WW and I've lost another 1.8 pounds, so 4.4 since joining this challenge. I am now at 170.6 pounds and should be in the 160's by next week
Exercising has been great and met my 2000 minute challenge last month and have signed up for another 2000 minutes this month with just over 500 minutes under my belt the first week. Eating has been good too, so I hope to keep this 2 pound average loss a week going....
Hope everyone is doing well and thanks again Tara for doing such a great job keeping us all modivated with this challenge.

Come on everyone...if you're like me and getting 3 days of exercise in is a "good" week let's keep Tera in our minds and know that if one of our teammates can pump it up a notch we can find the strength to follow through! I love reading about everyone's exercise...I just wish we were all close so we could have a weekly mileage walk together and cheer each other on in person...so here's some walking cheers!!!

Training for a 10k!!!! Is it in Hawaii??? Okay..we must have pictures seeing you finish that line! :) How's the training going? Although I'm not signed up for a race...I should be acting like I am...would love to hear your training schedule...
Speaking of Hawaii...heard a comment about pineapple aiding in digestion...they said just a few bites of pineapple with a big meal will help your body process the nutrients more efficiently...Hmmmm?
Always something new out there! :)
Great job HINative...keep us updated!!!

Thanks Tara - I was very excited today and look forward to having a good week and weighing in next week. How sick is that? :rotfl:
I'm lucky enough to be a SAHM, but my kids are in school fulltime and I have the mornings to myself. After I drop them off, I head straight to the gym which is right outside our subdivision. I usually do 30 minutes of weights (3 days a week), 20-30 minutes on the stairmaster, 30-40 on the elliptical and will try and walk on the treadmill to cool down. I average about 80-120 minutes atleast 3 days a week. Tuesdays is the only day that I'm not able to get much more than an hour in on the treadmill before my WW meeting.
I know when I get to my WW goal, I'll be cutting back at the gym to maybe 3 days of activity, but right now I have a lot of "toning" to do :earseek:
My goal is to be at 159 by March 15th (half way to our cruise date), so I have 5 weeks to lose 11 pounds. It's going to be tough, but I know with hard work at the gym and the support here, I'll make it.
Thanks again!!!

Teresa...with all those workouts...the scale may not show exactly 159 but your body will feel atleast 15 pounds lighter by 5 weeks!!! All those workouts will make your body feel smaller!!! But I think you can make 11 pounds easy...well, maybe not easy..but with hard work and discipline...I also find that a few days of reallly low carb helps jump start the scale for me when I'm in a lull...and cutting out any refined sugar....hope to see you get there before your date!!! :)
P.S. Guys, we've been trying to sell our home for 10 months!!! AAARGH! Actually listed for about 6 months...but today a buyer is deciding between my house and a new house....he'll be deciding over the next day...any thoughts/prayers would be greatly appreciated!!! To be able to live in the same town my husband's been working in for 10 months will go along way in getting me to 150's!!!

Wow! You guys are just what I need!
I "woke" up today to clouds and a headache. The kids at school were trying to say the least. By lunch time, I was ready to call in a supply and just come home, but, that is just too much trouble....and the afternoon was fun (for the kids) centres and Book Buddies ie. not much work for me. I took 2 ibuprofen, ate my lunch and gritted for the afternoon. It went well, and when it was over, I felt "perky" enough to change and head for Curves. I did the circuit twice and that is a GOOD thing! So count me in for 30 minutes of exercise!
Welcome to the new members of the I wanna be one fif-ty club. Don't tell anyone, but I almost want to be training for a 10k, myself. I miss the focus of training. :earseek:
Tara, sending pixiedust and prayers that the time is right for you and your house! :wizard:
Debbie - Good for you getting a workout in even though you had a rough day. It makes me feel so much better when I workout.
Tara - I know what you mean. The inches are definitely coming off, but you know how it is... we live and die by that darn scale :earseek: I'm staying focused, working on little goals to get to that end one. First I'm shooting for 2.1, which will get me to my 2nd 10% goal with Weight Watcher. After that, my 40 pound clippie and so on. Seems to be easier when I focus on those 5 pound goals. More people are commenting on how good I look, but I still feel FAT :earseek: I'm wondering when I won't feel like that.... maybe when I get my weight down to where I'm not considered obese or slightly obese??? :confused3
Good luck with selling your house. I know how you feel since we had a house for sale in St Louis when we moved here and had to deal with two houses for 6 months before it sold. I'll be saying a prayer

I just injured my ACL but not by falling or exercising....GOING OVER ON MY CLOG! Didn't tear it but stretched it with fluid. HURT LIKE THE DICKENS! THat is what inspired me to lose the weight. I'd like to join this club. I currently weigh 178 and would like to be in the 160's by my next trip to disney on May 29. I currently go to physical therapy for my knee and shoulder 3 times a week for 2 hours each time. I have a torn ligament in my shoulder making doing weights somewhat difficult. I have good intentions to stay at the gym next to the PT office but after 2 hours, I just want to get home.
Hopefully I can start losing weight and support other club members as well as get support also.

I'll keep you posted on the house...hoping I'll have good dreams tonight (did squeeze in an hour of cardiopilates (okay the DVD said 46 minutes!;))
WELCOME NYcpa...I'm starting to feel for you already...is your name related to your profession? I'm thinking you'll need a break in May if you're a cpa! :) You're at 178...YES YES!!! You can make it to the 160's easy! Injuries are hard to deal with...keep with your PT...2 hours is a LONG time to work out with an injury trying to heal...so let's focus more on your eating and give your body time to recoup...swimming is wonderful for your shoulder..hopefully there's a pool nearby where you can do some water aerobics. Also pilates (the two DVD's I've used) seem to be pretty easy on the shoulders and knee...focusing on the abs instead...that might work. Anytime I start losing weight I have to first shock my system...it's amazing what I think a regular size portion is...so the first week I either do no carb or replacement drinks for meals just to train my tummy to tell me when it's hungry not my brain! :) It also helps for me to cut out a few things...french fries, refined sugar, and white flour products...that alone will knock off pounds on me quick! :) Let us know how we can help you and we can't wait to see the vacation pictures!!!
Seizure..Terry...it is a hassle to deal with seizures!! I hated my meds..my blood levels would never stay level and they'd adjust them all the time which made me foggy..hard to be foggy as a pre-med student in college. I don't recommend this to anyone..but I took myself off the meds...my seizures were clonic-tonic...and they only happened after awakening from a nap or sleep. I'd get up walk around and be up for sometimes 10-15 minutes and all of a sudden my body's muscles would lose the electrical signal to stand...so all at once every muscle in my body lost a signal and my body would just lump to the ground...I could see everything happening I just couldn't stop it...then I'd be fine....but my knees took loads of damage. They only started after rush week in my sorority...I went 4 days with 2 hours of sleep each night and the lack of sleep triggered them. As long as I got 6-8 hours of sleep I had no problem. I'm just thankful I had a husband who would wake up with our babies to help me get that sleep when they were young! I hope you stay seizure free and can reduce the meds or off them.
Onwards and downwards gang!!!!

:( Just updated yesterday's Fitday (http://www.fitday.com) , and I discovered how many calories I'd eaten. UGH!!!
Okay, today is "Wakeup Wednesday" at school, I'm going to plan for it. And it looks like my yogurt/cottage cheese is the problem. Most of my carbs are actually coming from those two and all my fruits and veggies. That's not so bad, but when I see the calorie number :earseek: So, I'm trying to balance nutrition-calcium, vitamins, minerals- with calories. DH makes my lunch, and I guess I need to let him know that I don't need yogurt AND cottage cheese. :teeth:
Good luck everyone! Stay healthy!

I don't work out 2 hours a day, I have PT for 2 hours each time I go. Yes I am a CPA so this time of year is hectic. Everybody says you shouldn't eat after 7 PM but most nights I not even home by then. PT lasts until 6:30 and on the days I don't have PT, I try to work longer.
I am trying to eat more sensibly. Most of my non-PT workouts are either walking an indoor track or using the arctrainer (a cross between a stepper and a elliptical machine but it is much easier on the knees). I have to motivate myself to actually stay at the gym for an extra half to one hour. Doing so would make supper even later.

NYcpa...first...we've got to keep you from showing sad faces!!! You're here aren't you??? You're ready to face the day with all your buddies and pals cheering you on! We can't feel bad about our weight...but I do allow little sad faces for injuries...they can't be helped and we must get them better! Each day puts you one step closer to goal...I just think those sad faces remind us of where we've been not where we're going and YOU ARE GOING to the 150's baby!!!
Chrismiss!!! WOWZERS!!! 5am!!! :sunny: Is the sun even up yet? :) But you are on fire!!! I bet you're sleeping well, too! :) And I sure do wish I could go swimming with you...you'd keel over with laughter...I am the fastest draw in the South...east of the Mississippi...I can whip off that OVERSIZED beach towel and zip into the pool before any eyes spy the jiggling flesh...and they continue to jiggle well after I'm in the pool...but the water distorts them so it actually is better in the water..and I have been known to wait an extra 10 minutes to make sure everyone's preoccupied to notice me exiting like a bullet to grab my towel...but the important part is I GOT IN!!!! :)
Debbie....ick..I would cringe if I knew calories!! Especially the calories I had before I cut back on my eating!!! Honestly, I think 40% of my calories daily came from french fries or bread...I've got to kick up my exercising. And how sweet dh makes your lunch..I agree one or the other..but you will have great bones! :) Here's to a great menu and a great fit day!!!

SO THIS WEEK IS CRUCIAL......from a mental point of view need to get beyond the 5 pound mark :cheer2: :cheer2: Seems that just because it took 26 years to put it on that it is going to take 26 years to take it off!!
Third day in a row I am up at 5am. Today I did 30 minutes on the balance ball. Trying to vary my routine.

Today was my weigh in and although the scale showed 192 once..it really settled on 193---3 out of 4 tries it was 193..so I'm sticking with it...that's 1.5 pounds down for me this week...and I'm taking it! TOM is nearing and I didn't think I'd lose at all...I did okay on exercise...last week did pilates/cardiopilates 4x and had 2 days of showings where I had to do massive cleanings...this week I want to get my 4 mile walks in...atleast 2x...and for Valentine's goal I need to lose one more pound....inching closer to the 180's for GOOD!!!!

Wow!! Everyone is doing such a great job!
I love the motivation and encouragement I get when I come to the WISH board. About an hour ago I had to tell my boss that I am not stupid. He is very good at making people feel like idiots. The first thing I thought about as soon as I got back to my office was FOOD! Instead of eating I logged onto the WISH board and started reading. It has really calmed me down and I am so grateful to have all of you to help me through the tough times.
As I was reading the 150 Club thread I realized that I have not checked in in two weeks, so here I go. The first week I gained .5 lb. and last week I lost 1 lb. So I am now 51.5 lbs. away from the 150's. I don't post a lot but I am here a lot, I tend to be a little (lot) on the shy/timid sidebut I will try to make myself start posting more!

Christie!!! My favorite saying is "Don't let the turkeys get you down..." Ronald Reagan said it...unfortunately there are a few turkeys out there...so the next time your boss pulls that idiot mode just envision his words saying "Gobble gobble gobble" :) You were SMART to come here and vent!!! It so helps me!!
And I know it's hard to post when you think you've had a bad week or are just shy about getting out there...but I promise you...the more WISH'ing I do the more the weight comes off....it's when I get away from it that I lose control...somehow it's harder to cheat and easier to exercise when I'm encouraging everyone else to do it...practice what you preach I guess! :) And I have to preach alot for it to get through my own thick head!!!
SO WAHOO on the weight gone and KUDOS for coming in to say Hi!!! You're doing great and we'll be looking forward to your posts!!

Hi all -
Sorry I didn't check in yesterday - it's been a bit hectic at work. Hope you are all doing well...
Tara: I would go to a running shoe store and bring a pair of walking/running shoes that you have been wearing so they can see the wear on the treads. This will give them an idea if your foot pronates.
I purchase shoes based on arch support and how wide the toe box is. For some reason, shoes that "fit" me for walking tend to be too narrow when I run - and I like to try them out (a slow jog around the store or right outside) to make sure there is no rubbing on the outside of my small toes.
Don't worry about shoe size so much - but rather whether your arch is supported, if your toes have enough room, and whether the shoe provides enough width (you also don't want your foot to "float" in the shoe - too wide -this can cause blisters). I can vary in shoe size (between a 9 and 10) - depending on the brand.
Hope this helps... Let me know what you get!

Tara - Congratulations on the 1.5 pounds this week. You are doing great. :cheer2:
Tiggerkeeper - Congratulations on the 20 pounds!! Keep it up

Hello all! I just had my WI and am down .6 - now at 175.8. Less of a loss than I was hoping for, but still a loss. This is the first week in YEARS I've actually exercised and I've done 20 min on my elliptical every day and stayed totally OP. Hopefully next week will be better. I'm at that VERY unpredictable stage in life and it could be TOM approaching. Never totally sure.
Good Luck all! Hope we all lose bunches this week!

Congratulations to all who have lost in the past week. I am new to this and appreciate the support from everyone. I actually went to the gym today. I walked the track for 40 minutes and them went to group training for 60 min. I probably will be sore tomorrow as I have not exercised in 2.5 months. I was unable to do all the upper body exercises because of my shoulder but I was able to modify things to still get a decent workout. :confused3
I hope to be able to exercise agian tomorrow after PT.

:wave2: Good evening, fellow WISHers! I had a workshop today, and, I have to admit, I caved at the warm peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies. BUT I balanced it with a good workout at Curves after the session. l have vowed not to eat after supper tonight, and, with your help, I can do it! So, as soon as I finish watching Raymond, I'm going to bed!
It looks like we're on the track. We're moving....maybe not as fast as I'd like to be....but moving just the same. pirate:

Morning Team!! :flower:
Christy - Welcome to the 170's. Have been spending too much time there in recent months :) Happy to say I have moved on to the 160's. Come join me and we will moooooooooooove through it together toward the 150's :Pinkbounc
Debbie - I understand how hard it is NOT to eat after dinner. I have been known to sit on my hands . I also try to go to bed early (by 10pm). How about popping a sugar free Lifesaver Wintergreen mint? It has a strong flavor and gets rid of my urges!! Hang in there!
Kathy - We are so excited that you decided to join our team :grouphug:. You have come to the right place!!
To the rest of you - Focus on the goal - 150's and beyond!!!!!!
Keep drinking, keep moving, keep motivated!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
I have now exercised a minimum of 40 minutes for the last 4 days. Tomorrow off to Indiana to visit DD and a basketball game then home on Sunday in time for younger DD Pop Concert at the high school. Keep me in your thoughts.......have to find the motivation to watch what I eat and get back to exercising on Monday!! :wizard:
Have a magical Disney Day!!

Tiggerkeeper!!! :flower: Yep, you're on to the next 20!!!! And it will FLY by!!! Exercise is the key...if we maintain some moderate level of exercise we may have some weeks of stalls but we definitely will have WHOOSH weeks, too!!! Water, exercise, eating well....and you'll be there soon!!!!
Toystoryduo...I'm soooo sorry your dd's are sick! I really hate seeing mine under the weather...they are just so helpless and pitiful and not bright and shining like we want them to feel..I hope they're feeling better and I hope things turn around for dh's job...we've got to help you forget those late night munchies!!! One thing that sometimes works for me is hunger pains! Now, I know I'm not starving myself but after 8pm I usually start to get hungry...because we eat dinner at 5:30...I just love those hunger pains because I know that if I don't eat anything my body will start using my fat for food! So drink some water and read the girls a good book....mine loved "The Princess and the Goblin" or any of the "Little House on the Prairie series"....that will take your mind off eating late! :) Especially if you read, "The Long Winter" and see how they survived with practically nothing! You can do this!!!
HINative...Thanks for the tip on bringing the old shoes!!! I'm going today..will let you know! :) Keep up the great training!!! :cool1:
Christie!!! YEAH!!! :cheer2: Looser pants!!!! That's what we like to hear!!! That waist will be whittling down for tuck in shirts!!! Keep up the great work!!!
Goldcupmom... .6 pounds is GREAT!!!! Especially for the first week in keeping with the exercise...your body adds water to help nourish the muscles you're creating and if you keep this up and eat the same amount of food I PROMISE you that scale will be showing 2-3 pounds each week!!! The first 2-3 weeks of beginning an exercise schedule is hard on your body...you will be losing inches though so don't forget to measure that....you're a great motivator for me....I'm finally getting out and doing my first full 4-miler outside in probably 10 weeks! :) Let's make exercise a habit we won't want to break!!!
Kathy...don't fret about the upper body exercises...you must take it easy...one of those tricep lifts tore my shoulder coricoid process...PAINFUL! I don't think I'll every try that one particular machine again...and sometimes it takes 3-6 months for your body to heal so give yourself some time...those other big muscles (legs/tushie/abs) will burn more calories than your arms anyhow...so anything for those will help you make the scale move!!
Debbie!!! I went to bed very early last night or I would have been on here cheering you away from eating!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: No food after 7 means more pounds gone!!! :) I hope you had a successful night and you did GREAT with the cookie...atleast there was protein and chocolate in it..much better than a sugar cookie with all that icing! :) Make today a veggie day...all those veggies will knock out any effects of the sugar! :) You can do this!!!
Christy!!!   3 pounds is a HUGE week for one week!!! WOWZERS!!! You will BE in the 170's next week! Can't wait for you to scream with excitement when you see that number!!!! That's sooo close to the 150's!!! :) Let's go get 'em!!! :)
Linda!! You 160's BABE!! Sending you major pixie dust for a manageable weekend with daughter! AND WOWEE on the great habit of exercising you've created this week!!! That takes lots of discipline and get off your seat and do it enthusiasm!!! I think it's contagious!! You guys are convincing me to add some more in!!! THANKS!!!!
As for me...I always do this on weigh day...I just am so thankful I stayed on plan for the 6 days prior (or atleast mostly!) that I kind of reward myself by not having to "fix" the right foods...I had 2 puffy cheetos...because I wanted them no other good reason..15 semi-sweet chocolate chips...and a taco salad..(the rest of my meals were wheat toast and deviled eggs/carrots) .taco salad is not bad in a big sense but it always pushes my scale up the next day because of all the sodium....but I'm walking my 4 miles today and we're having another showing on the house...my sweet dd (6) wants to donate her long hair to Locks of Love (that'll be sweet and inspire me!) and I'm going to get new walking shoes...so all that will keep me out of my cheeto infested pantry! :)
Onwards & Downwards GANG!!! We're making big DENTS in this weight loss journey!!! :)

I have needed some inspiration to lose weight and this is great. I am around 173 but 155 would be ideal for me. I'd like to join the group!
I just can't get motivated. Back in October I lost 10 pounds before my high school reunion but I can't get back into it. I have a 2 and 3 year old, so it's hard to get anything done during the day. I know I need to get up and walk on the treadmill in the mornings, but I usually stay up late at night just to have some quiet time to myself, so I end up getting up with the kids. Once my husband gets home, I just don't have the energy.
I'm going to start in earnest this weekend so hopefully I can take off a few pounds before our next WDW trip.
Good luck to all of you - your stories are so inspiring!

I don't weigh in until tomorrow, I've only been weighing myself once a week and will be happy with a 2 pound loss. Tomorrow is also my planned "cheat" day since we'll be heading out to the Pooh movie and dinner, I promised myseld an enjoyable day and no calorie counting-first time in 28 days!!

WELCOME Henry loves Pooh!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: And soon you'll be realizing that you'll really want to eat well and exercise...something about treating your body right makes it easier over time....You're SOOOOO close to 155 now...you just don't realize it yet...You're practically 4 pounds away from saying goodbye to the 170's FOREVER!!!! Then we'll welcome the 160's and let you hang out there a bit before you know it..you'll be in the 150's and heading for GOAL!!!! Use us all you need....the more we have you here the more it helps the rest of us! :)
(Love Sarasmom's bouncy bananas....they make me want to shake my hiney!!!)
LET'S GO welovedis...YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A GREAT WEIGH IN tomorrow!!! :wizard: And my official cheat day is April 14th...I've never scheduled a cheat day...is yours monthly? I would love to have one day where I just don't watch what I eat...I'm giving up certain foods for 100 days and April 14th will be that day...so I'm staying strong until then....
I'm so happy my ramblings encourage you guys...I wish I could motivate myself as well....the more I encourage the more starts to sink in through this hard head of mine...atleast I'm losing and have got my eating under control...I need more exercise buddies to keep telling me what they do...I've almost talked myself out of my 4 mile walk today...but as soon as I finish typing this I'm going out...didn't get my new walking shoes today...but daughter did get her 10 inches cut off (soooo precious!) and I bought a big decorative pig to put on my kitchen counter so it'll remind me to AVOID CHEETOS!!! I'll try and take a picture of him and put it on here for inspiration! :) Any names for my piggy?

Okay..life is tricky..after I typed that last note I put my sweats on and headed out...them my husband said, "Did you know our neighbor had a baby?" I didn't even know she was pregnant!!! She kept it secret from everyone for 7 months (she had had several miscarriages) and somehow we never ran into each other for the last month before the baby came (early)...she works nights and sleeps days so we just never pass...so I had to go see the baby!!! And my baby is 5 now so I had to stay 30 minutes holding that sweet bundle!!!! :) So of course it gave me an excuse not to walk because by then the sun was going down...but I DID IT!!! I braved the cold winds and walked 3 miles (not 4 as originally planned) but I still was out there for 50 minutes pumping my arms and legs!!! :)
 Watch me walk this weight off now!!! Once I get started walking...it's hard to stop me...atleast if I say that it may sink in.
Also...for you 150'ers who are in the 170's or below and over 5'7....I just bought a winter coat from Talbot's online sale (was $228 now $67!!!) I haven't owned a nice winter coat in 9 years! Of course the only color they had was ORANGE! (But I'm an orange and blue fan) but I bought a size 12...is that going to be big enough to fit a sweater underneath it when I'm in the 150's??? It's been so long since I just didn't know what to buy...but it'll be inspiration wearing it now (trying it on atleast) and seeing how differently it fits in November when I'm in the 150's!!!!
Thanks guys!!! All your exercising finally got me out there..and yes, I do need new shoes!!

Hi Fellow Losers,
Today was weigh in and I lost 1lb, I am happy with that and look forward to next week. This week was rough on as far as exercise went, I ended up missing 2 workouts and had to lighten up and shorten the others due to the cold I caught over the weekend.
But Sat. is a new day and the start of a new week, so since I have my health back, I should be able to stick to plan and have a great week.
Congratulations to everyone for another great week of losses.
Welcome to the new faces.

:cool1: I managed to stay at the gym after my PT today. I intended to do 45 min on the arctrainer but only managed 30 min. I guess that was better than nothing.
Tara, your guess was correct, my name is related to my profession. I have to work saturdays now but hope to have the inclination to stop at the gym on my way home and exercise for about an hour. If I go home first, I won't go back out.
This time of year, I end up working most Sunday's also. I have a rule that I don't work past noon on Sunday. Therefore, if I plan things right I should be able to make it to the gym then also.
I was much more motivated when I had the girls home. I have one daughter in medical school in Maine while my baby is in her freshman year at Hollins University in Roanoke, Va. Since I am a single mother, it was a huge adjustment having them both away.
Getting out is good for both my weight problem and my mental health. Actually, my oldest daughter is the one who found this thread and suggested I take a look at it.
Enough babbling for now. Lets keep loosing weight

For some reason when I have a cold or such I tend to put on or maintain then the next week I have a whoosh...so for you to lose a pound with all that going on is AWESOME!!!! Drink your water and try to get some vitamin C in this week somehow...and don't over do it because you feel like you need to make up for missing workouts last week...just do what you feel up to and you'll feel stronger for it!
NYcpa...we're soo glad you found us! You've obviously got a very bright daughter there! :) Just think of how thrilled she'll be when you get to the 150's!!! If you can raise two very bright girls on your own and get them to college...it's time to focus on yourself and get yourself to a fit and fabulous you!!! Consider it your award for being a devoted mom...now you get time for you!!! :) Let's show 'em!!!
Making today a good one!!! Things are picking up on the house...still haven't heard from the couple who wants a new house but has ours as second if the new house can't be finished in 2 weeks...Couple on Thursday wants to buy our house but they have to sell their house in Atlanta...but then said they could do a bridge loan and close earlier...and the couple yesterday is coming back at 10:30 for a second look!!! :) YES!!! Good news...now I want an offer on paper! :) We might be a family back together after 11 months!!! :)

Hey everyone!
I've been reading along, but not posting so much. Everyone's doing so well!
Shhhh...don't tell my scale, but it said 173 this am. Tomorrow's official WI day, so it'll probably say 180, but I'm hoping I don't scare away the 173.
I'm a compulsive weigher, so I'm on the scale daily. I used to keep a spreadsheet and used the average weight for the week as my official weight. I just realized that the online training log I use will do that for me!

I told my DH the other day that I'm dreaming of a short khaki skirt this spring sz12. :cool1: It might seem like much to some but when I last left my summer clothes in July I was a size 22.

I have been weighing daily...I think I'll stop next week but it has really let me know how my weight fluctuates with my food choices and of course TOM...and I think it's kept me from "rewarding" myself on low weight days because I can see how quickly those numbers bounce back! :) You're doing everything right....so keep it up!!!   Let us know on your official weigh day and I'll post your red numbers on page one!!! :)

What do you guys do for rewards? I usually buy a new pair of earrings if I meet my monthly goal (lose 4lbs each month), then when I hit the numerical goals (175, 170, etc...) I buy clothes. Got my eye on a gauzy, embroidered peasant blouse when 169 shows up on the scale!

:cool1: I actually made is downstairs this morning and did 48 minutes on my stationary bike and level 1 weight loss. I almost gave up at 30 min but figured I made it that far I might as well finish.
:mickeybar I have set a goal to limit myself to one soda per day. Even though I drink diet soda, I drink way too much. I'm not a fan of water unless it is very cold so I put it in the freezer until it starts to freeze which makes it tolerable.
Since I'm trying to start my own consulting business, I need to motivate myself downstairs and start the investment analysis for my first client. I am still keeping my other job which I work at 50 hours per week, but it will be worth it in the long run, I HOPE.
Back to the grind.

Okay, I started out really well...eggs/bacon...and even a grilled chicken caesar for lunch....and 4 glasses of water...but we came home to that strawberry valentine's cake from a great bakery...I was SOOOOO good and cut a little slice probably a half a piece not an inch wide...then I went back into the kitchen to get something and noticed my daughter had not eaten her piece..and she had ROSES on it!!! AAAGH!!!! Without even slapping myself I took her plate and ate the whole thing! I was planning on skipping dinner for my transgressions..but when we went to my parents house to drop the rest of that EVIL cake off (brain cells kicking in now) my mom had ribeye steaks all fresh and hot...I had half a steak...now I know steak's not that bad but it was loaded with Dale's seasoning which is high salt and will not help my TOM weigh in tomorrow...mixed with all that sugar my body hasn't seen in 3 weeks...ugh!!!!
Just had to confess it and let it go...tomorrow is fresh and I'll stick to plan...and get my exercise in AND hopefully sell this house!!!! :)
Thanks guys! Onwards & Downwards!

Hi Tara...
I know you're feeling like crap right now, but don't dwell on it, it's not worth it. So you splurged a little. It's not like you do it every day and you'll gain 5 pounds. Just drink lots of water, get some heavy duty cardio in and you'll be fine. Good luck with the house :flower:

Good Morning Team!!
Tara, Tara, Tara - STOP beating your self up ;) Yes, you shouldn't have eaten the extra piece of cake but you did. My DD would tell you to "get over it". One way I have been told to flush out too much salt in the system is to drink even more water. So forget about yesterday, there is nothing you can do except enjoy what it tasted like and NOW it is back to the GOAL. You can do this - you have come too far to let alittle sugar and salt stand in your way :cheer2:
To the rest of the Team - KEEP MOVING!! Keep drinking :drinking1 and watch the evil sugar :p
WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER :grouphug:
I got back from Indiana and had a wonderful time with DD. Did NOT do well with water intake, exercise or food choices :bitelip: SO today I start back down the road to a healthy lifestyle. Who wants to join me?
Joining a fitness center today and going to start swimming. Doctor thought it would be a good choice for me. Anyone have an oxygen tank waiting :rotfl2:
Not working today - had too much to do including blood work for cholestral. Plus I didn't want to deal with a classroom of sugar highs - challenging enough when you are the sub but to pour sugar down them on top of it. YIKES!! Been a sub too many years to know that this is a good day to take off.
Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

I am down 2 lbs. Must be all my junk food didn't sabotage my efforts. Exercise must really help. Also drinking lots of water (which I hate).
Does anyone know why I don't get the smilies on my microsoft controlled laptop at work. I turned off the pop-up blocker but that didn't help. They work fine on my apple laptop at home
Have a great day everyone.

Kathy...2 pounds!!!!!  See!!! I keep praising all you guys for exercising and here's the proof!!! She had junk food and LOST!!! It can be done...although I'm not promoting junk food just saying that when you exercise like Kathy...your body uses FUEL!!! We need to give it premium fuel but all fuel whether junk or good can be turned into fat...it's just whether or not we give it the chance to be used...so let's get exercising!!! :)

:teeth: Good morning!
I woke up this morning feeling anxious and nauseous. Not a great way to start a Monday. :( I decided to go back to bed for awhile and after I got up, I worked out. I did Super Body Sculpt/ Upper Body and Kathy Smith Functionally Fit Lower Body. I'm feeling pretty tired now, but I'm hoping a healthy brunch and a nice, hot bath will take care of that.
Tara~ Today is a brand new day! No worries about yesterday! Hakuna Matata!! (This is the DISboards. I couldn't resist! ;) )
Jen~ I remember Valentine's Days as a teacher! I had students bring me donuts, candy, and flowers. Hang in there, Jen! :cheer2:

Betcha you're one of those really cute cheerleaders! :) :cheer2: You've got spirit...YES YOU DO!!! I just love all the encouragment from you guys!!! It really lifts me and makes me want to say YES I CAN DO THIS!!!!!
Did any of you watch Oprah today? I caught the last 10 minutes and thought...that's just what I need is a 12 week boot camp...it's a short enough time to keep me focused...looking at July 4th seems daunting at times...but 12 weeks can go by like that! So I'm going to check out her website and see what all is entailed...but it might help some of you who need a little extra push now and then. Sometimes I feel like I need a steel-toe SHOVE out the door to get moving! :) It was 68 and beautiful here today so I did make the kids walk a mile with me to a neighborhood park...and I'm going to do 45 minutes of pilates tonight too. Let's get moving and shaking guys!!!! :)
....I think the Oprah site is having too many hits...my dial-up can't get through..if any others check out this boot camp and want to share the details...please do! :)

I hope this pastes right....
You have eight workouts a week with one day of rest.
Six days a week, you do 20 minutes of resistance training using dumbbells. Choose a weight that's heavy enough to tire the muscle by the 12th rep—most women begin with five to ten pounds (Oprah's using 15 pounds for the biceps and 12 for all the other moves; the rest of the team is starting with eight). If you already weight train, go through your upper-body exercises. Try some of Oprah's favorites!
Each session includes a cardio workout. Start with 30 minutes, five days a week, and on the sixth day, double the time to an hour. But here's the trick: The more comfortable a workout is, the less effective, so the aerobics are designed to constantly up the metabolic ante. Oprah and her team are using treadmills and increasing the challenge every two minutes by raising the speed, incline, or both. The idea is to continually push yourself a little further than you thought you could go, until you get to the point where you can talk but don't want to.
Every day, take it up a notch; staying at the same level is the biggest mistake people make. Don't be afraid to jack up that incline!
Every week, extend the aerobics sessions by two minutes (week two would be 32 minutes and 64 on the long workout). So by the end of the three months, you'll be doing almost an hour a day, and double that on the sixth session.
On top of all of this, you do a second half-hour workout two days a week. This session is a combination of cardio and strength training that Oprah learned from John Travolta's trainer, Steve Maye: Every five minutes, you alternate between the treadmill and a series of floor moves: situps, squats, and biceps curls and lateral raises with the hand weights. "You sweat a lot," she says. "I wouldn't do this if I wasn't in boot camp."
Before taking even one step, sign and date your Oprah's Boot Camp contract with yourself. Stick it on your fridge as a reminder of your daily
And for the food it says stick to lean meats, two fruits a day and all the green vegetables you want...after one month you can add whole wheat grains in slowly....(ouch!) It also said you could have one cheat day where you could have a piece of cake, a bowl of pasta or something like that and I can't remember how often..maybe once a month?
I think I'll try this...anyone else willing to go 12 weeks?

Tara - THANKS so much for the post. The last two days have been horrible for the diet. I'm very glad at this point that Valentine's day is behind me because I fell off the wagon and I think I ate it. :rotfl:
I went to the Oprah web site and I realized that my workouts after 7 months are flat. After I do the first mile I'm not really breathing hard. I'm going to take it up a notch. :bounce: :bounce: I just loved their ideas and I"m definitly going to extend 2 min each week and have an 1 hr session on the weekends. :cool1:
THANKS for ALL the GREAT ideas and Motivation!

I watched the Oprah show yesterday and something that stood out for me was when she said "diet" is not will power it has nothing to do with will power it is a DECISION. Boy, that is so right! I made the decision to be healthy and I make the decision of what goes into my body. ;)
To all of you who have joined the Boot Camp we are :cheer2: you on! Now drop and give me 20!! :rotfl2:

Have no clue what I'm going to do...guess the muscle training and a cardiopilates tape...that should be about 60 minutes for today...oh and drink lots of water...mainly her boot camp will get me off my duff...I've got to think of a great reward for myself at the end of boot camp...let's see...12 weeks ends around the middle of May...hmmm. maybe a new swimsuit???
Chrismiss...How did the swimming go????? Do we need to send oxygen??? NAH!!! I know you did GREAT!!!! And think lemons....and garlic...whenever I'm going lowfat those two things help everything taste better...just a teaspoon of olive oil and a whole bunch of lemon and garlic and anything tastes good! :) Let's get that heart HAPPY!!!!
Tracy...Say GOODBYE  to yesterday..those days are OVER and new healthy fit days are ahead...kicking up your exercises will knock your loss into high gear. I remember two years ago I did a Webmaster Alex exercise challenge and lost 5 pounds in one week! I didn't change my eating at ALL but bumping my walking from 6 miles a week to over 15 really took off the weight! And INCHES!!! :cheer2: Go Tracy!!!
Iris!!! BOOT CAMP BOOT CAMP...That's our cry...we can't fail if we give it a try!!! :) Here's some pal hugs for your upcoming race :grouphug: huddle, huddle...let's get those legs moving!!! :)
Tiggerkeeper...YES!!! It is a DECISION...and you guys have helped me in choosing wisely...sure I had a bad day with the strawberry cake on Sunday...but last night..my mother made all the grandkids homemade valentine's cookies with pretty pink icing...she gave me a whole plate of those yummies...I didn't have a one!!! And I left them there for the other grandkids to eat...she also gave me a box of chocolate turtles....left them there, too. She ordered spaghetti, garlic bread, and salad from a local restaurant for everyone....I had already had my green beans and broiled chicken...and it was past my cut-off on eating...so I DECIDED not to have a bite!!! AND I took home a to go box of good salad to eat for lunch today. I WAS SOOOO PROUD of myself...and I honestly wasn't tempted....I think I realized how yucky all that sugar in the cake made me feel and I liked the clean healthy energy feeling better from fruits and veggies.
Let's DECIDE to be healthy and reward our bodies with good food! :)
Toystoryduo...this weekend was tough on a bunch of us...so don't fret...SPRING is on its way and will bring a renewed sense of growth and confidence in ourselves...find some good fresh veggies and feed your body well today....YOU ARE A LOSER...now be PROUD of it! :) 150's baby...you're gonna be there!!!
Tara
Hi Everyone!
Well my WI today wasn't as great as I had hoped, losing only .4 pounds... I know it's still a loss, but was REALLY hoping to hit the 160's this week, but will need to wait till next week :guilty: I'm down 37.8 pounds for WW and currently weigh 170.2 pounds.
I'm sure next week I'll be there and only 11 pounds to get to the 150's!!
lmhall2000
02-15-2005, 05:00 PM
Teresa... .4 pounds is really a big success at this stage in the game...I think the closer we get to goal our bodies are saying, "Are you sure you want to do this? There's still time to turn around and treat me the way you had been...I'm not used to all this good eating!" So once it's convinced you're going down to stay it will start the pounds coming off....
GREAT JOB!!!!

Hello to all.
Down 1 pound this week. I think my listing has the wrong amount. I need to loose 28 to get to 150.
Thought I would be down more which just prooves I have to get exercising.
I think I will try that Oprah plan. It definitely sounds like it would get results.
I will do that no eating thing at night as well.

Cindy!!! YEAH!!!! One POUND!!!! So LONG!!!! And this is the 150's club....so you thought we were just going to celebrate when you hit 150? No, no, no...we're going to PARTY for you from the minute you hit 159!!!! The second any of us step foot into the 150's...then YOU'VE DONE IT!!! Even if 150 is your goal (and for some it's 140's or below) we're gonna cheer you strongly all the way down or through. The only requirement for when you hit any number in the 150's is to give great reports on what you like better in the 150's than in the 160's, 170's, or above... :cheer2: We need a tag to wear when any of us reach 159 or below...any creative folks out there?
Tiggerkeeper...THANK YOU THANK YOU for the reminder about the no eating after 7pm...I finally got a chance to go grocery shopping and all that valentine candy was 50% off...that makes for very easy dessert for the kids...but can cause havoc around TOM for me....only 2-3 more days of TOM and hopefully my strong decision making skills will come back. Usually I have bad bad TOM cheat days...just those two pieces of cake this time...so that's a HUGE improvement. I'm thinking about trying to make it through the next TOM with no cheats. Hmmm? Is that possible?
Oh, and my big Oprah start...didn't she say that you get one day off a week...well, you guessed it...Tuesdays are officially my day off of exercise! :) Dog had an infection that was hiding under her fur...it looked like from a bite from that attack she had a few weeks ago...it was now a hotspot and had to take her to the vet...it was 70 today and we just had to go to the park for 3 hours...then I had to go to the grocery with 3 children...EXCUSES, EXCUSES!! But I did have a GREAT day on eating...so now let's see if I can do 6 days straight of exercising...off to slumber so I can wake up before they do and get it done! :)
Thanks!!!!!!

Linda...GREAT Job on the swimming!!!! You DID IT!!! I actually like swimming because it makes me feel fairly light to what gravity hits me with! :) AWESOME!!!! Keep strong and that body will be your friend!! :)
Sarah's mom....let's get those 12 pounds off by your birthday!!! :) Wouldn't that be AWESOME!!! I think this is the easiest stretch to lose weight in...the weather gets better...you WANT to be active...and it's before those hot summer days where you would rather soak in the pool! :) Let's blast into Spring healthier and fit!!!
Mshrm!! YOU ARE IN BABY!!! Just let us know how we can help encourage you...how far you need to go...what areas you're feeling pretty confident in and what areas you need to improve...we all have good/bad days but with this team behind you you'll be seeing more good days!!! I certainly have!!!
Toystory!!! WOW!! You have really pumped up your exercise!!! That is awesome!!! I hope the under the weather thing will slide by...sometimes when I feel out of sync I try to add some fresh fruits and that perks me up...I need to take vitamins...I'm sure that would help me when I'm slumping...anyone recommend any good vitamins? I used to take Centrum...it's been years since I've taken any..so I'm sure there are some good products out there.
I did it! I woke up before the kids and did my pilates...I need to get an aerobics workout in and I'm about to do my strength training after I post here..just 15-20 minutes of Oprah's favorite weight routines...I'm using free weights today...I only have a 10 lb. and a 3 lb...so I'll have to do one arm at a time! :) And I'm going to try and do lunges..I HATE THOSE!!! They just show me how weak my knees are.
Onwards TEAM!!!

This has not been a good week, I took Sun. off from exercising and then I ended up missing Monday as well. I guess I shouldn't have said that since I had my health back this would be good week. Sunday night/Monday morning DS4 developed croup, so after spending 2 hrs trying to make him more comfortable a home we ended up having to take him to the E.R., because he was having such a hard time breathing. After being up half the night we were all hoping to take a nap when the kids did, well it wasn't in the books for me, DS only wanted me, and wanted me to sleep on his floor, something he has never requested, so I know he felt bad, needless to say I was to exhausted to exercise Mon. night.
I am also guilty of eating when I get stressed, and since I was tired and dealing with a cranky kid, I ate and none of it was healthy.
I am hoping that I haven't done too much damage over the past couple of days. So if you have any spare pixie dust please send it my way.

Regina!! :wizard: Lots and lots of pixie dust coming your way!!!! I hope your ds is feeling better...it sure is croup weather! My grandmother always said to watch for the winds that blow from the south...you'll get croup! :) I love all those old wives beliefs...and I'm sure some are pretty true! It's hard to eat right when everything around you is out of balance...so give yourself a break and get lots of rest...when you do go off plan just try to stick to one discipline...like avoiding all sugar drinks or sugar treats...it's better to avoid something than to give in to all of it...I know my worse days I just felt like I wanted to eat a bag of cheetos...then a bag of M&M's to appease my sweet tooth..and wash it all down with a can of Coke! :) So now, if I feel like cheating...I'll pick one of the three junkies to have and not feel soo bad. And the cheat days come farther and farther apart. You stay strong and drink your water...that weight will come off!!! :)

Welome aboard agotta!
Regina...... I hear ya!! I have been having a bad two weeks!! You just keep it up.. Go one day at a time and don't beat yourself up over what is in the past... you can't change it, but you can change today and tomorrow!
chrismiss56... how's it like swimming with us?? Are you going to the "Potty all the time, potty all the time"??? I am always in there now!!
Tiggerkeeper.... I too try not to eat after 7pm. I find that once I hit 9pm I have to go upstairs or I will be snacking away, and not even realize it! DH felt like I was abandoning him at first, but now he realizes that it's not him, but ME! LOL
Tara our wonderful leader..... Congrats on signing your contract and joining Oprah's bootcamp. I am thinking of doing it myself, but I want to check out the book first and read up on it. I am not going to give up what I am doing now, but just don't know if I want to go as hard core as she is. Now if I had a trainer come to my house and push me, my own personal chef cooking yummy non-white meals, then I would really consider it! LOL
I worked so hard in Jan and lost 7 pounds. Now here it is halfway through Feb and I am the same weight :(.
The first two weeks felt like sabotage. DH would bring all this good food home.. he was helping with dinner and the kids. I couldn't resist all that yummy food, and ended up gaining 1.5 pounds back. I am finally back to my starting weight in Feb, but I keep thinking of where I could be.
I promised myself when I started this journey that I wouldn't beat myself up about things like that, but it sure is hard not to :).
Right now I am staring a chocolate cake down! I will not eat ALL of it!! I will allow myself to have a small portion if I must. But I will NOT eat ANY after 7pm. I WILL NOT eat any alone in any room!! I will NOT stand at the counter with a fork in my hand and eat it straight from the dish!!!
I MUST make better decisions for myself and my life. I WILL be breaking into the 170's before St. Patty's day.

Good Ol Gal!!! Let's rephrase that...You just can't help thinking of where you WILL be!!! :) You are soo close sweetie!! January was a GREAT month for you and now that you're back on par...let's go for a little loss this month...you could lose 3 pounds by the end of the month and be at a total loss for 2005 for 10 pounds!!! 10 pounds is GREAT!!! And then we'll celebrate you to the 160's before you know it!
Now about the chocolate cake...I look at it this way..I've had chocolate cake before...I'll have it again...unless it's a very special occasion (for me...simply a holiday  ) I can AVOID it...let's get you to your goal range and then have the best chocolate cake ever...I have an AWESOME recipe I'll save for the day you get to the 150's....I guarantee you've never tasted anything soo great! :) It's a little work to do it..but sooo worth it.
So let's get those scales moving and try and forget the cake..if you can't, make it a very small piece..and wash it with a huge glass of water! :)
Spring is ALMOST here...let's all SPRING forward into losing until the first day of Spring..March 21st...?
If I find something aerobic today I'll have had my first successful Oprah day...I did strength training (ouch!) I'm such a wuss!! and I did pilates...trying desperately to find a video...so many packed away in anticipation of our move. I've got ABS of STeel...not quite aerobic but may have to suffice today.

Why don't I exercise more if I feel so much better afterwards?

Moving it moving it...your attitude changes...you feel a tingle in all your body parts....you crave more water...you get a healthy glow on your face...and you feel STRONGER for it! Why oh why can't we KNOW this and resist the temptation to sleep in or pick up a routine the next day? Keep sharing how GREAT it feels to get out there and move your muscles...it'll start a revolution!!! :)
I couldn't find a video..so I remembered 5 key aerobics steps that I put together and did sets of 16 then 12 then 8 then 4 and repeated until the clock had passed 30 minutes...I'm wondering if there are any aerobics programs I can do on the internet??? I don't have cable and there are no shows on my programming at early am...but I'm determined to buy one tomorrow..Target should have the FIRM...Wal-Mart just had a video...I need a DVD. But I did complete the first Opray Boot DAy....even if it was a little homemade! :)

Tara great job on first day of boot camp. :cool1:
I wish I had your determintation but I can think of alot of excuses for not exercising ie:working 8-10 hours, 2 hour of pt, home at 7 and eat supper. I told dd1(future doctor aka xterratri) that i would get up at 5 am to work out :rotfl2: but ionly reset my alarm to 7 instead. it's hard to get motivated when you know it's only 18 degrees out and you may have to clean snow and ice off the car. the bed is so warm and cozy.
Only in cny can you have thunder and lightning in the middle of a snow storm. Snow is forcasted for the next 5 days. Accumulations could be any amount or none at all depending on how the storms track. So much for spring being right around the corner. :confused3 :confused3
Good Ole Gal keep up with the good work. :Pinkbounc
TINK CINDY!!! Exercise is good :cheer2: keep up the effort

Tara - I too have made a mental challenge to myself to give Oprah's boot camp a try. On Tuesday I got back on the wagon and went to lunch with a friend and had a wonderful salad for lunch. But by the time I got back to the office I was extremely ill. Long story short I had LOTS of time in the bathroom for the next 4 hrs. I got home and fixed the kids dinner (nothing for me). My DH made me drink some Gatorade (believe it or not I was freaking out about the carbs in the drink) did the homework with the kids and got them to bed. I started to think I had two choices. Go straight to bed or try to do some type of workout. I took the challenge and did some weight training. Drank a whole lot of water and still felt good and I got on the WM and made it to my 32 minutes. My DH said I was crazy but I felt OK and boy did I sleep that night.
Today I ate all good things. Lots of water. 15 min of weight training and another 32 minutes on the TM. I'm hoping the scales are good for me tomorrow. :wizard:
I do have a workout treat that I would like to share. I'm a full time working mom to two wonderful kids, DD (6) and DS (4). My workouts start after everyone has gone to bed (around 8:30) One night I was complaining to my DH that I hate to workout and watch network TV. My DH signed me up for blockbuster.com. It is so wonderful. $15.99 a month! You pick three dvd's at a time and they deliver them to my door. Mail one back and they send you another one. Plus you get two movies in your local store a month. I pick out the chickie movies that my DH would never watch with me. I usually takes about 3 days for me to watch a movie durning my workouts. I did see that they have a lot of workout dvd's to choose from. That might be helpful to you and that way you could have a variety.
I'm sorry this is so long. I thought I would pass on somthing that I do to keep me working out and out of the kitchen looking for snacks in the evening.
Have a great rest of the week everyone! Keep Sweatin. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Good morning everyone
I resisted the urge to reset the alarm to 7 and did 32 min on the stationary bike. I should have done more but i want to be at work by about 6:30. I cheated and hit the snooze once. :cool1: :cool1:
Hope everyone has a good day. By the times of some of these posts, it appears that some of us never sleep.
Off to work doing taxes. Did I ever say this time of year can be a pain :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Morning Team!!
This cheerleader needs a cheer and boost!! :sad2:
Not happy at all. I have been swimming the last two days and working out in the morning. Doing pretty good and feeling pretty good. Well I let my neighbor with her crazy dog talk me into walking with them when I got home from swimming. I like her but the dog could stay home. In the last 2 years of walking (semi regularly) with her he has never greeted me. Just doesn't acknowledge me and hates all the other dogs in the neighborhood. Anyway went with her in 30 degree windy weather and last night I was so sore that I had to take something. Was not able to work out this morning and am not going swimming after work :(
Also I snuck a peek on the scale yesterday and saw 168 YIPPEE!! Today is the official weigh in day and saw 169.5 UGH!!!!! :confused3
Help!!!! Need a hug and some advice. :grouphug: What should I do after work come home and not work out or try yoga or what..........REALLY FRUSTRATED about my soreness and the scale....grrrrrrrrrrr
Thanks for listening.
Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Are you all reading what I'm reading????
Good Ol Gal Got 72 ounces of WATER IN!!!!
TINK CINDY GOT A YMCA WORKOUT!!!!
NYCPA GOT UP BEFORE SUNRISE!!! TO EXERCISE!!!!
TRACY has a GREAT WAY to get variety in your workouts....AND she worked out after taking a beating with bad lunch.
SARAH'S MOM is always in such good spirits!!!!
Are y'all seeing a great change in all of us?? I can attest that I've never worked out or wanted to this much for the past 4 months! I avoided eating leftover bugles on my kids plates :cheer2: I drank all my water yesterday! :flower:
We're making some pretty WISE CHOICES team!!! Keep it up!!! The scales and measuring tape will be our friends! :)
Oh, and Tracy I hope you're feeling better...I don't recommend pushing yourself unless you really feel stronger...those bad lunches can wipe out your good minerals and stuff...and on the gatorade...GREAT at replenshing...with all the water you followed it up with the carbs will mean nothing! And your body probably used them before they had time to convert to anything other than fuel! :) Thanks for the tip on the videos...that sounds right up my alley! :)
ON DOWN TEAM!!!
