Our very own Towncrier made the hot seat last week. My DD and I were in the audience, also playing and lo and behold, Towncrier made it into the hot seat. His son came in 2 nd in the rouncd. Towncrier answered the first 5 questions before the show was over. He and his lovely family got to stay but my DD and I had to leave and couldn't get back in to see how he did.

Just waiting for him to return home and post his results.

How exciting! DH and I will be making our first trip as DVC members in Sept. Our DD#2 will be joining us during part of our stay. She is a big fan of WWTBAM. She can't wait to try to get in that hot seat.

Good for him! My DH was #1 and I was #2 right as the game ended for us! Talk about frustrating!!

PS - I'm so glad I got to meet you, Rosemary (and Towncrier, too) at the OKW DIS meet! Anyone have pics of that to post???

WOW!!!! You go, Towncrier!! That is such exciting news!! Wish we could have been there to see him and root him on!! Hope he posts when he gets home and lets us know how he did. We really enjoyed meeting Towncrier, Rosemary --and everyone else at the Minnie DIS meet on July 23rd. Hope we see you all again soon.

I didn't have my camera Kara, but I believe Stephen Kay and his wife had the digital camera and took a picture of the group. Towncrier and his family took pictures too.

It was great meeting you all too. Let's do it again.........Did you plan your next trip yet? I'm working on it!

My DW Sue kept dragging me back to the show. There were three times when the show ended that I was #1 and would have gone into the hot seat. But I still managed 4 trips. When my head stops spinning (we just got home 90 minutes ago), I'll post the gory details. Let's just say that I managed to make the most of the hot seat. I "sang" one of my answers (you should have seen the host's face) and got a little to confident about answering questions on my last trip to the hot seat. If you want to do well at WWTBAM, you really need to know a lot about MTV, art, and films. Not too many engineering questions. I can't wait to hear how many times gofennmom and her kids made it to the hot seat.

Glad you are home Towncrier!! We have been anxiously awaiting to hear all about your experience at Millionaire. We played three times but never made it to the hot seat. My DH did get his name up in the seventh spot. I was proud of him! Enjoyed visiting with everyone at the Minnie Dis Meet and wanted to thank you for organizing it! Will be looking forward to your post!!!!!:bounce:

When my DH and I played, he was #1 and I was #2 at the end, but time had run out, so he didn't get to go up. :( Oh, well, better luck for us next time! Goodness knows we'll be there again...and again...and again! :D

Congrats on your accomplishment, Towncrier!! Glad you got home safely. I have been watching for you to post so I'd know you and your family had survived your vacation!! LOL!! It was wonderful finally getting to meet you at the Minnie DIS meet--wish we had had more time to visit. Maybe we will be able to do it again soon. Thanks again for the "P.D."

Hi everybody

It was great to meet you all at the Dismeet. Stephen has now gone off to the Gulf for 4 months on military duty.

I was patiently waiting until everyone got back to hear their reports. Well done Towncrier getting into the hot seat.

We met Georgina and Melissa (Gofenmom) at the e-ride night before we left and Georgina managed to get into the hot seat too.

I did take photos with the digital camera, but am working my way through the 30 discs that we took with us and putting them into our album. Will post our group picture as soon as I find it.

Bye for now

Mary Kay

Both of gofenmom's children made it to the hot seat (multiple times). I PM'ed them earlier today to get all the details of exactly how many times and how far each one of them got. I know that Melissa has a 125,000 point pin, but that's about all I know.

So John, how did you do? Fill us in on the details!!!

Hot Seat #1: Missed the 8,000 point question (Alfred Hitchcock movie question)
Hot Seat #2: Missed the 125,000 point question (MTV question)
Hot Seat #3: Missed the 64,000 point question (Geography question)
Hot Seat #4: Missed the 4,000 point question (Pastoral art question)

Net result:

Two 32,000 point polo shirts.
Four 1,000 point baseball caps.
Four lanyards
Four complete sets of the first 5 pins
Two complete sets of the second 5 pins

I did give away a couple of the special hot seat pins to a set of twins who I saw in the audience of WWTBAM. It turns out that they both have Cerebral Palsey and absolutely love the game. They were both wearing lanyards, so I decided that I didn't need all those pins anyway and gave each girl one of the pins that I had won that day.

My kids think that they are each entitled to a hat. And the extra shirt has already been spoken for by my DW Sue.

I've found the photo at last, but can any of you technical people help me out on how to post a picture from a 3.5" floppy onto the discussion boards.

Thanks in anticipation !!!!!

If you email the photo to me (and any others that you might care to share), and I can post it (them) on photopoint so that they can be viewed here.

Congrats, John on your success playing the game. Sounds like you had a great time. I cant't wait to try to qualify when we are there in December.

Doctor P - My advice is to get to the first shows of the day when the crowds are small and the attraction is not completely full. Get a fastpass for the second show (which you probably won't need). And as soon as you are certain of the answer, start pressing that button like a madman.

Hi John, The round that you were in the hot seat ( that Stephanie and I were there), I was pressing the button as soon as the light went on! Stephanie was a little slower than me, (she's only 10) and she ended up placing 9th overall! I wasn't even on the board!!!! Boy am I jealous!!!

Well, I guess I have 41 more years to try to qualify!!!

By the way, did your son ever make it to the hot seat?

James never got past me to get to the hot seat. If the situation had ever arisen where he was in 2nd place, I would have gladly turned down my spot in the hot seat. James and Sarah (and Sue) were all very close many times. If we had gone to a few more shows, I'm certain that one of them would have gotten to play in the hot seat.
