Thanks to the characters

Many, many thanks to the wonderful characters that took some extra time with my 'slow-to-warm-up', 15 month old niece last weekend. Especially Chip and Dale at Chef Mickey's last Sunday morning and Minnie and Donald in Toontown last last Monday night. They would take such care of her, very slowly just stroking her hair or hand until she decided to hug, smile and wave at them! It was fantastic to see them taking time, even at the breakfast when there were many, many other kids waiting for their hugs!

Our best memories from the trip last weekend center around characters showering Alyssa (and her family) with Disney Magic and Love!

What a Great Thread.

On our last trip to WDW, which was during labor Day week 2004, we stayed at SSR during Hurricane Francis. After spending 32+ hours confined to our rooms (1 bdrm villa) we were notified that they were going to open up Artist Pallet for a special dinner and a surprise visit from the Characters.

Even though the storm was still raging outside :umbrella: . The CM's were fantastic, the Characters that came to interact with the guests were plentiful. It was like one on one. What a treat. Of couse Chip and Dale, Mickey and Minnie ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo , Stitch, Pooh, & EEYORE.

These CM's gave up being with their families and homes during this and other Hurricanes to make sure we were safe and sound and to provide us with some Magic :wizard: .

During a recent visit to WDW, time and time again, the characters all showed great patience and compassion for both youngsters and adults, especially those with disabilities. The hugs, embraces, and pats on the back said more than their words could ever have spoken. They do a very special service at the parks far beyond the autographs and the posings.
