I have two small kids (2 and 3) and would rather not deal with the crowds and hassle of being in MK for Wishes. Anyone have suggestions for a place we can have dinner that would have a view of Wishes or somewhere we can eat and then go watch Wishes, like Poly or GF? We are staying at All Star Movies this time - last time we stayed at WL with a woods view room so we watched the fireworks from our room.

Also, for those with small kids, where have you gone to watch Illuminations? Is it better to find a restaurant with seating or find a place along the lake?

It's snowing here and I can't wait to get to Florida!!

I would recommend O'Hana's at Poly - we were there on 1/13 and it was amazing - and they pipe in the music for wishes

I'd say Ohana's an Poly, too. We've only done breakfast there, but heard great thngs about dinner. You could also try Cindy's.

california grill at the cr has the best view for wishes and they too pipe the music in. just remember to make ps for any of these restaurants way in advance if you want to be there during the fireworks! :cool1:

There is a board here that lists people doing the fireworks cruise who are looking for other families to join them and split the cost. We are doing this in April and have already found people to join us. No food involved, but will only be about $15 a piece!!

I think the cruises are an excellent idea. It's very entertaining for the kids and you don't have to deal with the crowds. If you wanted to try and get a great spot for Illuminations, you're talking about staking out an area an hour in advance. The cantina in Mexico is open seating, but that fills up quickly. The Rose & Crown takes reservations, but has very limited outside tables. You could eat inside and then go out onto the patio to stand and watch the show. You are more than welcome to bring snacks and drinks on the pontoon boats.
