Just thought I would start a thread to help boost up some of our snacks ideas. I know that sometimes I get stuck in a rut eating the same old thing all the time. not really looking for recipes as much as ideas for some change-up in our snacks!

Right now my fav snack is:
1 low-cal english muffin (.5 g f, 90 cal) toasted with
1 wedge laughing cow light cheese (2 g f, 35 cal)

Very filling and the cheese is warmed up by the toasted muffin, yum!

Who's next???

My new favorite is Weight Watchers ice cream bars. They were on sale at Shoprite so I thought I would try it, I got cookies & cream and it was GOOD. I've tried the slimfast ice cream before and hated it. These are 140 calories, 5g fat and 2 points if you do WW.

This is great especially when you are having some major chocolate cravings.

My favorite is (going along with the WW ice cream bars) Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches-- the vanilla is only 2 WW points (2 sandwiches are 5 points, though), and I can't tell the difference between them and a regular ice cream sandwich!!

Thanks for some great ideas! I tend to get stuck on the same snacks each day, so this is great! Publix now carries the Weight Watcher cereals - there are 5 different kinds, and I haven't found one I didn't like! I just divide them into single serving baggies (1 to 3 points depending on the kind) - yummy! I also love the Alternative Bagel by western bagel - only 1 point, and four different flavors to choose from. If I have an extra point to spare I add my laughing cow light wedge (1 point). For those chocolate urges, I found a great recipe for chocolate haystacks made with 1 cup of fiber one and 1 - 1.55 oz hershey bar, melted. Just mix, divide into 6 haystacks, refridgerate, and enjoy (1 point each, and lots of fiber!) I need to stop - it's too close to dinner, and all these snack ideas are making me hungry! :earboy2:

crzy4pooh I'm going to have to try that haystack recipe - that sounds yummy! :)
For me I like the WW cookies and cream bars  2 points, Organic Oat Bran Pretzals 18 pretzal sticks 2 points, and Soy Milk Milkshakes (1 cup - 3 points) - that's a little high for a snack for me but it is SO good and really tastes like I'm having something I shouldn't be. :teeth: And the biggest surprise for me is FRUIT! A year ago I would have told you I really don't like fruit well turns out I do but I never ate it so I didn't know. :teeth: I am just in love with Gala Apples and Grapes! Two nights in a row I've bypassed my nightly WW ice cream for grapes which is quite a change for me. Thanks for all the ideas everyone! Great thread - keep those suggestions coming.

well not my favorite ( not yet anyway) but I have been thinking all day about this taco meat I have in the frig. Its from two nights ago and there is som uch left over. I have been brainstorming about what to do with it!

Then I though nachos!

I have LC wraps that when toasted taste just like nacho chips.
Ill add some taco meat cheddar scallions tomatoes dip in sour cream sounds good! BTW this is a low carb thing of course.

SO Ill let you all now how it when.

These wraps are great for so many things. I buy them at sams i nbulk and they are NOT small wraps. 6 net carbs each, i have made so may things with them. I almost don;t even need my LC bread anymore!

One last thing, KEMPS LC ice cream bars are definitely my fave bought snack. I also find these at sams club. Comes with 9 ice cream bars, vanilla choc covered, and 8 fudge bars!

with a handful of granola for crunch!

Strawberries are just now coming into season, so I'm eating strawberries with fat-free Cool Whip as a dip.

Hi,

I like a wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese and a Gala apple. Sometimes I use 2 wedges.

I also like pepperblack cheese with a gala apple.

Another favorite is sunflower seeds in the shell. You have to work to get in the shell, however, it keeps my mouth and hands busy and away from other snacks.

My almost-nightly snacks are pretzel sticks, 1 point worth, and/or the 94% fat free popcorn (snack size bag) with FREE butter spray added. ;) 2 points for the popcorn.

1/2 cup SF Jello is also a 0 point sweet-fix. I also like the now discontinued WW peanut crisp bars. Salsa and baked Tostitos, yummy for a Mexican treat. Sometimes FRUIT (who knew I'd say THAT a year ago?!). ;) The WW and Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches are good, as well as Edy's Grand Light ice cream (I tried the Peppermint over the holidays, and it was YUMMY!) The Nabisco treats are also good, I like the Chips Ahoy, and the Oreo's are good too.

I will admit though that tonight I had a WW eclair for 3 points and skipped the popcorn.

LOTS of Snacks to be had! :earboy2:

Hi to all!

I will second popcorn with a dash of seasoning salt or parmesan cheese. Just gives it a different flavor. If I want something sweet I will go with frozen grapes especially red ones!! Yummy!!

Have a magical Disney Day!!

My new favorite snack is lite, fat free yogurt with pretzels broken up in it. For some reason, this combination of sweet & tangy & salt is incredibly satisfying to me -- it is kind of along the lines of yogurt covered pretzels, except it is really yogurt and the creamy yogurt & crunchy pretzels are a great combo.

ADisneyMom -- your idea of cheese & an apple is great! I love when those items are in a gift basket and love to cut up the apple and eat it with the cheese, but I hadn't thought of treating myself to this on any ordinary day.

I am now hooked on whole wheat tortillas, and these are great alone or with a slice or two of healthy choice lunchmeat -- about 2.5 WW points
