Good Morning!! This is my first WISH report:

Well, back OP with WW for week 3 now...nothing great to report! I had pizza the night before my Saturday WI (I did have the points), so I was a bit disappointed in the scale report! :earseek:

I did get a new WATP DVD-Walk & Jog and have managed to complete it three days in a row now!! :cool1:

I am going to continue watching my points and doing at least 30 minutes a day of cardio throughout the week, but add strength training back starting today...just trying to plug away at it & hopefully see a payoff of some sort by the summer!

20 lbs is all I'm asking!! (Baby fat from DD, who is 4!!)

HAVE A GREAT WEEK EVERYONE!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome...I'm happy to be here!

Today is a "grazing" day so far...I've had the munchies...oatmeal for breakfast, a granola bar for a snack, chips and salsa for another snack (oops on the chips) & a Smart Ones for lunch...if I keep this up, I'm going to blow my points (with a smile on my face, unfortunately)!

Maybe it's hormones?! DD & I were both a bit sensitive this morning (not sure who was more so).

Looking forward to hitting the gym after work today, although the cardio room is undergoing a remodel, so we're all packed into the lobby of the YMCA like sardines!! I think I work harder being so close to my neighbor, so maybe this is a gooooood thing!

Have a good day all!

Hi Tracy,
Welcome to WISH!!

I made it to goal last year having pizza at least once a week! I just made sure it was veggie or plain!

20lbs by summer is so do-able! You CAN do it!

Have fun at the gym tonight!

I took the day off from exercise yesterday to just veg out on the couch after work...boy, did I enjoy that! Tonight, DD will be with her DGPs, so I am hitting the gym with gusto...easy to say at 9:30am!!

I have made the decision not to weigh in for the next two weeks at WW online, but be committed to my exercise plan & follow my WW plan as closely as possible (I'm NOT perfect) & then see how that worked. I hit a plateau back in October being vigilant & haven't been able to break through it, so maybe if I RELAX just a bit & stay off of the scale I won't get so bummed & MAYBE I'll see something good, I know it takes time (patience grasshopper)...

HAVE A PHENOMENAL WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!

Well, this weekend I ate too much...still wiping the ice cream, and key lime pie & my silly little smirk off of my face...I'm such a "sweets" addict!! DD will never have a weight problem, the only sweets she will eat are M&Ms (plain)...she doesn't like cake, cookies, candy bars or pies...if only she would get off of the chicken & french fries kick...LOL, I indulged that for awhile until I realized that she would indeed eat other things, as long as it was placed in front of her (i.e. you didn't ask her what she wanted for dinner, duh).

Now it's Monday & I'm back to the routine of oatmeal for breakfast, a Smart Ones for lunch, a granola bar for snack & a fairly normal dinner...I will be hitting the gym tonight after work, looking forward to that since I was a slacker this weekend!!

HAPPY MONDAY!!

Welcome to WISH Journals, Tracy! I am glad you have joined us.

Can you give me some more information about the WATP Walk/Jog dvd? I am a big WATP fan but have never heard of that one! Thanks!

pettyone
01-24-2005, 03:08 PM
Terry--

The WATP Walk/Jog DVD is 30 minutes...after the warm-up, it has a 2 minute interval of brisk walking followed by 2 minutes of easy jogging...I think we do 4 jogging intervals. I am doing fine with it, but am not the most graceful person on the planet, so I feel like I am all over the place--apparently, I am not getting any more graceful, although I am getting fit! :D

There is a low-impact/intensity option available where you would briskly walk and slightly modify some of the other moves, I have had days I chose that instead.

I believe Leslie says that if we were to walk/jog at the pace on the video, it would equal 2.5 miles.

I found the DVD at Target...

Hope this helps!!

Thanks, Tracy! Since I am trying to incorporate more jogging into my walking routine, this sounds like it might be a good way to start that!

You have also just given me another reason to go to Target. Thanks! :teeth:

Tracy,
Do you find that the oatmeal fills you up?

I know that oatmeal is touted as the perfect breakfast and I LOVE it myself; however, I am always starving whenever I eat it. I can never make it from breakfast to lunch without a snack and then find I'm just overly hungry all day. In looking at your first day (with the granola bar snack--I've read these are nothing but glorified candy) and then your "munchies", I was wondering if the oatmeal might not be the culprit?

I've been eating Barbara's Cinammon Puffins and they really hold me over and, I think, keep my entire day on track. I eat 1.5 to 2 recomended servings for breakfast. I get at least 9 grams of fiber and sometimes 12 if I have two servings. That is WAY more than oatmeal and stays with me much longer.

I don't know if you were really looking for suggestions, but this is something that has really worked for me. I know when I do the oatmeal breakfast I have terrible willpower the rest of the day. But, other people respond differently. It works great for my mom.

Christine--

Thanks for the info

I had a lipid profile done in December and was stunned to learn that my HDL/LDL were slightly out-of-whack. I figured that being OP with WW and walking 30-min, 5 days a week would have kept these in line; however, my Dad has cholesterol issues (takes meds) and heredity may play quite a role there...which brings me to the OATMEAL.

It's never been one of my favorite things to eat, because I didn't find it filling compared to, say, a BLT on wheat, but I've been drinking lots of water lately, so I don't feel like I'm starving after I eat it.

The granola bars were an experiment with DD...she likes cereal bars, so I figured I'd give the granola bars a try...they went over like a lead balloon, so I ended up with the Sam's Club box gathering dust in the cupboard. I am down to the last few bars now. I will do a little more research, following your info, before I munch with reckless abandon on these. :flower

HAVE A SUPER DAY EVERYONE!

GOOD MORNING!!

Well, DD & I started this morning off with a bang...

I was snoozing when DD came to say: "Hey Mommy, I want to get up now"...my reply: "It's not time to get up yet, go back to bed." (grrrrrr!)

Some time later, she comes in to say: "Hey Mommy, you're snoring! Can I get up now?" I looked at the clock...IT WAS 7:37AM!!! Usually, I get up at 5:30am & we're out the door at 7:30am on our way to preschool & work (have to be at work by 8:30am).

Long story short, I got to work on time...BUT, DD's clothes don't match (she dressed herself), I have no makeup on (horror), I forgot my lunch (digging in purse for loose change) AND I forgot my coat (it's freezing outside!)

It's all uphill from here, I figure... :rotfl: I can laugh now...

On a brighter note, DD will be starting swimming lessons at the Y on Monday & she is super excited!! I am too, I can get in some gym time without rushing to pick her up from preschool by 6:00pm & she will be swimming like a fish in no time!!

I'm still OP, taking baby steps to my goal...I think I can, I think I can, I think I can... :hourglass

HAVE A SUPER WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Hi Tracy,

You are allowing your daughter to express herself and develop her individuality and independence. I won't mention what katie wore to school today.

Great job getting to work on time. We've had a few days like that. You obviously needed the rest. I hope you found some change for a decent lunch.

Katie takes swim lessons at the Y. She is almost 5, and she can swim the lenght of the pool without a floaty. Good for you, and her.

Have a great weekend,

Greetings All!!

I made it through the weekend without any further trauma & drama! Yea!!

My scale, however, must be broken...IT'S BEEN STUCK ON THE SAME NUMBER FOR WEEKS NOW! ;) Oh, and my clothes fit just as snug as they always have...so much for "muscle building"! I know that portion size is my downfall, so I'm going to start using my salad plates to eat dinner on & I'm finally going to break down & get a scale to weigh meats/fish with...I WILL GET OFF THIS PLATEAU!!

DD starts swimming lessons today. We went by the Y where she is taking lessons this past Friday (not our usual Y) & this place is SWEET! It's brand new, spacious, airy, well-lit, state-of-the-art & has the coolest indoor pool I've seen in awhile (and only 5 minutes from my work/her preschool). My usual Y is old, dark, cramped & worn, but I still love it (2 blocks from work), it has "character". Anywho, we're pumped!

Hi-ho, hi-ho...need to be working...

Have a great day!

Good Morning!!

DD's first swimming lesson went off without a hitch...well, except for her not wanting to put her head underwater to blow bubbles...we're going to have to work on that one, LOL.

I did amazingly well yesterday food-wise...my coveted oatmeal breakfast, a WW Smart One for lunch & tilapia, asparagus & a bit of rice for dinner...now, if I could just do that EVERY DAY, I'd be in super shape!! This morning, it was all I could do not to run into the coffee shop near work for a "heart attack on a plate" breakfast...I could smell it...I could taste it...I really wanted it! Oatmeal it was, tho'. Yum!

I'm currently fighting a lunch battle at the moment...leftover fish, asparagus & rice OR take-out teriyaki veggies & Rice from Shono's...

Today is gonna be a tough one!

I envy you Tracy! I wish I could get myself to eat some more vegetables!! I finally got some celery yesterday, and some lettuce:) LOL I think that's the extent of the food group for me!

Good luck today! Great job sticking to the oatmeal!

Tracy, best wishes with whatever you decide on for lunch - they both sound good to me! :p However, I bet the takeout food has lots of salt in it, which will make you hold water (if you're anything like me) and then you'll REALLY hate how your clothes fit. Such choices we have to make.

Hope you have a great day!! :sunny:

Tracy,
I think you've hit the nail on the head with portion control. I've really learned that lesson over the past few weeks. Most of my life, I've eaten pretty healthy--oh, I have bad times here and there, but for the most part I know how to eat right. Heck, my mom was on on Weight Watchers through most of my teen years! Anyway, I eat right but I eat a LOT, and I love my desserts.

I don't know what "clicked" with me this time, but for once in my life I have been able to successfully limit my portions. Despite the food and the exercise, I think my portion control has really been the ONE thing that has helped me drop the pounds this time.

pettyone
02-01-2005, 12:49 PM
I caved in & had the veggies & rice...licked the plate, no less!! I figure I blew a whole 10 WW points on that lunch, but I still have 9 points left for dinner without adding 4 AP for the day...I think I'm in good shape!

Kelly--
Celery & lettuce?? Let's expand that veggie repertoire! With the exception of eggplant, mushrooms, & brussel sprouts, I'll eat whatever veggie you put in front of me...had a meat/fish/poultry aversion (I know, weird!) when I was pregnant with DD, so after so much corn & broccoli, I had to branch out!!

Doreen--
Holding water as we speak..."I'll have a side of rice with my soy sauce, please".

Christine--
Kudos on the portion control...when I see how much (actually how little) other people eat, I think I'm such a pig...most people's entrees are side dishes to me!

Thanks for stopping by everyone, you gave me a boost!! :Pinkbounc

Howdy!

I've been doing well the past few days with exercise & sticking to my WW plan.

Today, I had my USUAL breakfast (anyone care to guess?), leftover tilapia, asparagus & rice for lunch...I managed to get in a 30-minute walk at lunch, so I'm :sunny: about that...

DD has swimming lesson #2 tonight, so I will get some form of exercise while I'm waiting for her...pot roast & veggies for dinner (emphasis on veggies) tonight--GOTTA LOVE THE CROCKPOT!!

There are no PopTarts, Hershey's Kisses, ice cream snacks or chips in the house, so I am predicting tonight to be a success as well!!

Hope everyone has smooth sailing for the rest of the week!!

Hi, Tracey! Hope all is going well today. Good choice on finishing your tilapia, rice and asparagus for lunch today -- what a great choice! I hope your DD loves her second swim lesson, since it is so good for her and for you. How awesome that you have none of those ugly junk foods in the house. I don't know if this helps, but I have really come to enjoy ice cream after I work out. Found no pudge ice cream cones and all sorts of weight watchers ice creams that are 2-3 points a serving, usually less points than the activity points I earn by doing the exercising that I am rewarding. Does that make sense? I definitel NEED to have my treats. I have a couple new favorite snacks -- laughing cow cheese & baguettes (2 pts) and light yogurt w/fat free pretzels broken up in it (3-4 pts total and counts as a milk, too!)
Good luck tonight!

Hi Tracy :wave2: You are doing great on your food choices!!! You have definitely inspired me! I hope DD's swim lessons are going well. Last fall, I had DS in two parent/tot classes. He would put his head under water without a problem, but we never got the hang of blowing bubbles. I will have to try that in the bathtub, too. I am waiting for it to get a bit warmer before we go back for another round - the pool is heated, but outdoors... Even in Florida, it's cold when you get out of that pool!!! :cold:

I hope you have a great weekend!

Greetings everyone!

I haven't posted in a couple of days...I've had to do some research on several different federal banking regulations (snooze & snore) for an upcoming audit that I'm doing at work (joy & rapture)...

I stayed OP 90% of this week. Lo' and behold, I'm down a pound!!! :Pinkbounc I think I'll take that as a success...I was thrilled that the scale moved (or it appeared to anyway)!! I think that adding 2 extra walks (or cycling) to my usual agenda has given me a boost!

Cam--Thanks for the info on the snacks...I really should check into some of the ice cream choices, I miss ice cream!!

Beth & Lynnda--I was on the treadmill during DD's last swimming lesson, but when I went to pick her up, HER WHOLE HEAD WAS WET!! I'm taking that as a positive sign...I did pick up some goggles for her, have no clue if she will wear them or not...nothing ventured, nothing gained! She's having a blast though, and sleeps like a ROCK afterward!

Jen--Thanks for stopping in & for the :cheer2: .

A glorious Monday morning to all!!

I got up first thing this morning to do my WATP DVD, so I am quite chipper at such an early hour! Still tickled at my 1 pound weight loss--every little bit is a success!!

My food choices over the weekend were questionable, at best...Saturday I had a chicken burrito (with guacamole & cheese) and chips & salsa for lunch...followed that up with pinto beans & cornbread for dinner. Sunday I went to the Olive Garden with my folks & DD, but managed to eat half of my pasta dish & take the other half home for dinner...I was a little nervous about how it would all shake out points-wise (WW), so I came in this morning & updated my WW online journal...I actually did great!!! Used a couple of flex points on Saturday (day off from exercise), but still have 30+ to use M-F this week!!

I exercised 4.5 hours last week!!   I'm aiming for that this week...

I just got a call from DGP (Grandpa) that DD is somewhat lethargic (unusual) this morning & was running a low-grade fever last night so she's staying home from preschool today...I think DD needs some :wizard: !! Her Daddy, hereafter referred to as DFOMC (dear father of my child), has been in Colorado on business since January 12 & is coming home today...he has a cold, she has ???, and I've got a fever blister...aren't we a winning bunch?! Keep your fingers crossed that we all survive this week!

Good Morning!! :sunny: <---since it's raining here :umbrella:

I had a great day yesterday with food & exercise.

I exercised 1 1/2 hours yesterday (30 min aerobics/30 minute lunch walk/30 min TM)! Needless to say, I'm a little pooped today, but I was :Pinkbounc all day yesterday...I had enough points to spare, so we went to "Old McDonalds" for a Happy Meal--you know, they're giving out "My Little Pony" figures, so we have to get them ALL ($$$)!!

As far as I can tell, DD just had a case of the "blahs" yesterday, because she was  when I picked her up from the DGPs...she made it through her swimming lesson & was still  when we got home...she did sleep like a rock last night, never moved once she got settled.

All in all, a smashing success of a day!

I must say, I thought I was doing well today UNTIL I realized that the bag of popcorn that I demolished was not the "94% Fat Free" stuff, but the "Fully Loaded w/ Fat" kind. I believe I have 7.5 regular points and 2 (or 4 if I get motivated) activity points for dinner tonight...I really was looking forward to eating a hunk of ham steak tonight...AAAARRRGGGHHHH!

My ds had a hard time putting his face in the water for swim lessons and the goggles made a huge difference for him. He is a great swimmer now and a little too fearless (if you ask me).

Hey - I made the same popcorn mistake last week! Someone had put the last regular popcorn bag in my box of 94% FF popcorn! ACK! I thought it tasted different, but since I typically eat the 94% FF Kettle Corn, which was all gone, I figured it was just my imagination. Oops.

Well, I've finally discovered that I'm an "emotional" eater (never paid attention before). I had a crappy day yesterday, nothing specific, just a black cloud over my dear head...

I managed to "fall over" a bag of peanut M&Ms yesterday...ate 'em...liked 'em...took the lumps in my WW points for them (6!).

After work, I got stuck in the mother of all traffic jams, which completely knocked me off schedule for the evening, so DD & I went to O'Charley's...I had chips & salsa, a baked potato & a salad...I took the lumps in my Flex points for that.

I used 37.5 points yesterday, earned no AP...all in all, it was BANNER DAY!!

************************************

I had oatmeal for breakfast today, veggies are for lunch, cheese pizza tonight for dinner...oh, and I am going to the gym for some :Pinkbounc tonight...GOTTA GET BACK ON TRACK...right now, I could give a rat's you-know-what about veggies & cheese pizza...I'd like to have a chocolate cake!! I won't have a chocolate cake, but truthfully, that's what I want!! GOTTA GET BACK ON TRACK...really want cake...GOTTA GET BACK ON TRACK...really want ice cream....AAAARRRGGHHHHH!!

Afternoon greetings all!!

I skipped the Happy Meal last night & opted for a WW pizza instead...I'm really digging those!! Yesterday was absolutely OP, got in my WATP DVD, strength training at lunch & 20 min on the TM last night!! Go me!!

Today, I've had you-know-what for breakfast, a WW lunch & a bag of popcorn so far. I'm such a slacker that I didn't plan anything for dinner tonight, so we may just have beanie weenies...mac n'cheese...french fries & chicken...something quick, painless and full o'fat!!

Hopefully I can encourage myself to go to the gym (I have 13 minutes to decide)...I really want to go home & sit on my duff, though!!

I hope everyone has a good evening!!

<----needs to just go to the gym, right?

SO...O Queen of the Oatmeal.... DId ya make it to the gym?!

Yes, I did.

Today is a resistance training day...no cardio for me...I've got a lunchtime parent/teacher conference for DD...

I tried to eat "regular flavor" oatmeal today...gag!! I understand now why my Nanna used to put butter & sugar on it...ugh!! Luckily there was some raisin & spice oatmeal handy, so I choked that down instead.

Looks like today will be 100% OP...I seem to feel better about this journey when I truly look at it as one day at a time...if I even entertain the big picture with the amount of weight loss & exercise that I have to do in order to meet my goal, I get overwhelmed!!

***********************************************

On another note, I am having the dilemma of a lifetime with my upcoming Disney trip...WHERE TO STAY?!!

I figure that DD will not be able to handle an all-day park experience, so we will need a mid-day hotel break, recharge & then head back out...I'd like to have her back to our room by 8pm for bath, stories & bed...I've stayed at ASMu (Rock Inn) & loved it...but I wasn't 4/5 years old & was gone 99% of the time (was a Disney wedding weekend for a friend)...sooo, I guess my dilemma is whether or not to pay more $$$ for a mod/deluxe, given that we will probably spend more time in the hotel on this trip than on any future trip as DD gets more mobile & has more "endurance".

The contenders are:
1) Value: Pop
2) Mod: POR
3) Deluxe: AKL or WL

I'm driving myself nuts!!! Does it really matter???!!!! Regardless of where we stay, we're going to have a blast...sheesh!!! I'm sure DD would sleep in the car just to go to MK...I'm the one with the hang up...LOL.

I've seen on the resort boards that I'm not the only who is confused...so many choices!!!!

*********************************************
Have a good day...

Hello, hello!!

I've been successful staying OP this week and exercising like a fiend...UNTIL TODAY!!

Our bank's external auditors took us to lunch today at one of those fancy "dinner clubs" (ooooh, ahhhh)! I shudder to think of how many WW points I used today!! I had a shrimp/veggie salad & mixed greens, tempura catfish w/ mixed veggies and mashed potatoes, and a "pecan ball" dessert...I am stuffed!!

I never did use any flex points this week...I have to figure that they're gone now!! I will be hitting the gym for an hour of cardio & strength training tonight in the hopes of reversing some of the damage done (or at least wiping out the effects of that DREADFUL pecan ball).

Wish me luck!! I hope everyone has a great weekend...I'll be checking back in on Tuesday!!

Hello!!!

My trend of emotional eating continued...I didn't sabotage myself over my long weekend--still down a pound!--but really lost my grip on eating "healthy", that's for sure...

I discovered the joy of the Precor Eliptical over the weekend...love it!!! I logged 5.5 hours of heart/bone healthy exercise last week and managed to LOSE ANOTHER POUND!! All this effort and I'm such a slow loser!!!!

I'm feeling pretty good today, much better than over the weekend (emotionally)...DFOMC (DDs Dad, My ExBF, etc) has decided that he doesn't know if he wants to be in a relationship with me or not (isn't this a black or white decision???)...long story short, we were together on/off (lived in different cities, one or both of us had traveling jobs) for 7 years before DD, lived together for 1 1/2 years after DD was born, seperated for 2 years, then decided to give it another shot in July '04...he said he wanted to change his life, get on track, he screwed up, etc., so I thought he had some sort of epiphany!! We did well until November & it's been downhill ever since...DFOMC has a ton of childhood baggage (emotional, not physical) & it's taken ME getting therapy & 12 years to put my finger on it...unfortunately, he would rather continue living his destructive, yet "happy-go-lucky" lifestyle instead of getting help to improve his life...I pretty much placed his options out in front of him yesterday...take the easy road & continue your life as miserably as you have been OR get some help to improve your life (i.e. address the big white elephant or whatever it is)...sheesh!!! Why would you choose to wallow in misery?? I don't get it...

What I did wrong: Letting him back in without him seeking help first...thought we could work on it together since he seemed to geniunely (sp?) want to work it out...

What I did right: DD was in the dark, knew nothing, which was tricky...

What I'm going to do now: Stay busy & expect nothing...he knows where I stand as of yesterday...

*******************************************

Whew!! Sorry for the downer of a post...but I am not "stewing" anymore...had to get it out...

Have a good day & THANKS for listening!!!!

Jen & Beth--

Thanks a bunch for the :grouphug: ! I'll keep you posted on how things go (or don't go).

Thank goodness for the gym!! I gave that elliptical machine a run for it's money yesterday after work :earboy2: ...I think I hurt it!! My workout was great--except for something that was slightly creepy. I've said before that our Y is getting remodel & the cardio machines are packed in the lobby area, like sardines...well, one of my coworkers (who gives me the willies anyway) was on the machine directly BEHIND me yesterday...AAARRRGGHHHH!! He's one of these people who will say, "You look very put together today." That means, "Gee, your 'rear' or 'chest' has my attention"...(shiver).

Here's a funny one...said coworker just came by my office to comment as mentioned above...(shiver).

Anywho...had a BLT on wheat for breakfast (a treat) & doing oatmeal for lunch...pot roast for dinner...

Exercise for the day should be a 30 min walk at lunch & 20 on the elliptical this evening...we shall see...

Have a glorious day!!!

I hate creepy coworkers. Fortunately, the one we had left about a year ago. Is he someone you can tell off? Or can you report him to HR?

Have you decided where you are staying on your trip yet?

Great workout yesterday.

Hi Tracy

:grouphug: hang in there :grouphug: I have been through similar "junk" with my Dx (he gets a dear because since our divorce he has taken the "hard" road to recovery and done a great job). But, he never, never would have addressed his problems (including a serious mental illness) if I kept letting him stay as he was. Its a long hard road, believe me, but it sounds like you are doing exactly what you need to do for yourself and your daughter.

The creepy coworker is basically harmless in all respects...he's a pretty good guy with a pretty questionable mouth...I think he gets most of his "jollies" at the Y in the aerobics classes (he'd be the one in the back-LOL).

There are 2 men and 3 women in our department & one of these days he IS going to catch one of us girls in the "wrong mood"...boy, will he get it then!!
HR here is just a figurehead of a department, don't get me started, but I don't think it will need to go that far...

Thanks for coming by, I appreciate the support.

I'm not sure how much more of a wake-up call he needed after I booted him out of our house in July '02...that didn't seem to have a whole lot of impact on his life...he got to move in with his folks, pays no household bills, has fabulous meals, a "pony" keg & a cellar full of wine to partake of, & a flippin' maid!! (Can anyone say "ENABLE"???)

As you can imagine, my life is not nearly as plush as his...

I haven't spoken to him since I Monday, although I've seen him in passing while shuffling DD to/fro. He really looks like he's suffering, let me tell you...He does leave for Colorado (works there) on Monday, will not be back until March 18, or so...plenty of time for him to think...

Happy Weekend to All!!

I should be okay for weigh-in tomorrow, provided I don't blow it tonight...I'm going bowling for a Big Brothers/Big Sisters fundraiser with friends from work...we're supposed to go to dinner afterwards at Quaker Steak & Lube...

I completely forgot that it was Lent (oops) when I made the suggestion & there are FEW choices that don't have meat, LOL, guess it's a salad for me!!! Everything else would taste so good, but be so bad for this diet!!!

No exercise today, except bowling (?), but I do plan on hitting the gym in the morning...

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I'd say I stayed 50% OP this weekend...fried zucchini on Friday night didn't seem to affect my weigh-in, I was down a pound on Saturday! Unfortunately, I haven't hit that weight again since, so I'm not counting a loss this week. :sad2:

Bowling was LOTS of fun! I finally broke "100" on the last game...ha ha, I won the game (!) with 102!! The skill and form with which I bowled was truly astounding. :earboy2: You can refer to my post on the general WISH board for the rest of the story...

Happy snowy morning (it's not sticking though),

Yesterday was a pretty decent day for food, with the exception of the SLEEVE of Club Crackers that I ate...whoever left those in the kitchen here at work must be hunted down!! They're kinda like Pringles or M&Ms for me...I can't stop eating them once I've had a taste...those definetely hit the flex points!!

While DD was at swimming, I spoke to a trainer at the Y about my pulled/strained hamstring...he said to keep going with the workouts since I've had 3 days of "rest" for it (4 after today)...he also said to back the amount of weight I lift off by 1/2 & work up gradually so that I stretch, but not re-strain that muscle...sounds like a plan...I think.

I'm still going to take today off from exercise & while DD is at swimming on Wednesday, I'll find a trainer again & have them with me while I try to work out...

On another note, DEx left for Colorado today...he'll be back in 3 weeks...he said yesterday that he was "mulling over" our conversation from a week ago about how he wanted to live his life..."mulling over"...***? :confused3

I'm still trying to nail down my vacation plans...pretty much have it figured out, just need to figure out my PS & get comfortable with the logistics of it all before I book...I'm thinking about booking through DU & letting them take care of everything (I'll have my concierge experience before I go, since I can't afford to have one while I'm there...ha ha!!)

:wizard: to everyone for a super day!!!!

Be careful restretching that muscle. I think it is a good idea to have a trainer nearby - cuts down on the chance of you reinjuring yourself.

Thanks for the laugh in my journal this morning - I needed that!

Tracy, you have me :rotfl: ! Thanks for the laugh!

I'm having a hamstring issue too! My right hamstring is super tight right now for some reason so I chose not to workout today and just to stretch it carefully and gently. Pleas be careful with your hamstring!

I'm trying to nail down my vacation plans too. The thing is that I am not happy with the total amount that I have come up with so I am re-working the plan until I feel comfortable with the amount of money we will need to spend. DH said the original total was fine, but I think I am still going to work on it.

Have a great day, Tracy! :sunny:

Sorry to hear about your DEx...but it sounds like you are doing the right thing by not letting it bother you either way. Way to go on losing another lb(even though you didn't count it)

Tracy: The hamstring "feels" alot better today, so I am going to ease back into my cardio/weights today...YEA!!! I hope you are able to get your trip "tweaked" just the right way, I know what you mean, though, about being comfortable with your numbers...

Gail: Hey, thanks for stopping in, good to see ya!! I have a 3-ring binder (my own Passporter?) with Disney stuff crammed into it, so I'm not completely out of the planning...just delegating some of it! Oh, I did see my weigh-in weight this morning...if it sticks another day, I'm claiming it!!!

Beth: I got Beth from D.U. Mind you, I just received my quote, I haven't pulled the trigger yet...I've got that itchy trigger finger though...won't be long! DD & I are going Dec. 1-4...short trip since we are renting a beach house in Cape San Blas, FL for a week in July (it's gorgeous there, we love it).

Jen: If the hamstring doesn't hold up, do they have a stroller in my size?? I'd say DD needs to push or carry me for a change!!!

Howdy!!

I finally hit my weigh-in weight from Saturday again! Although, if I average my weight from Saturday-Today, I haven't lost a thing!! I really should stay off of the scale between weigh-ins, but I just got a new one & it's fun!!

The hamstring feels better, I'm going to work out for the first time today while DD is swimming...keep your fingers crossed...

I'll be fine for food during the day today, but I have no idea what we're having for dinner...I'm in one of those, "eat all the food in the house before you buy more" modes...my cabinets are starting to get quite full, so it's time to ease off a bit...I guess we'll be eating veggies or spaghetti tonight, we've already hit the freezer pretty hard, so the only meat in the house is not really a meat...chicken nuggets-whatever they REALLY are.

Tomorrow is my birthday...35...doesn't sound so bad! My folks are making t-bone steaks with all of the trimmings & I'm having my usual chocolate cake/cream cheese icing with bittersweet chocolate "dribbles" on it...YUM!! I don't expect to lose any weight this week with the hamstring issue & my birthday, but that's okay, I WANT LOTS OF CAKE!!! I love that cake...my Nanna used to make it for me before we moved to TN, so Mom took over the tradition & she does a phenomenal job with it!

I am rambling... :rolleyes1

I survived DD's first sleepover!! We had a great time! The girls were really tired after their late party last night, so they were quite subdued by the time we got home...woohoo!!

I also found out yesterday that DEx's Mom REALLY wants to go to Disney with DD & I. She is going to check to make sure she can get off of work on the dates that I have already planned...shouldn't be a problem, she's a "float pool" nurse and only works 2-3 days per week. It certainly throws a wrench into the works with all of the plans that I had floating around in my little brain, but we should be able to work around those (I hope). I think it will be fun & will take a small bit of the financial burden off of me (splitting the hotel)...oh, and we're actually going to come in on the afternoon of November 30, instead of the morning of December 1!!! Yea! We can hit the ground running on the 1st!!

I haven't discussed any further vacation plans with DEx's Mom, although she has already (since Saturday) tried to change the hotel from AKL to Dolphin/Swan, tried to change the dates (from December to February), and she did succeed in changing the Orlando departure time from 8:30pm to 1:30pm...that I can live with, since we will be coming in earlier than I had planned anyway...now, if she messes with my BOMA/CRT/CP plans, I'm going to screech!! Breathe, breathe...it's only March...breathe...

Have a good evening!!

Way to go Tracy!!!

My mom and I are talking about doing a M/D trip right around that time...and we're considering AKL!! So...maybe I'll see you there!! I'll know more after my trip in June...she doesn't want to start planning yet to hurt my brothers feelings since she just got back from going with him and his family...and we don't want to upset my kids too much since it will be just her and I!! But we've done this before and it's great for us to do.

Enjoy the rest of your day...back away from the Big Mac!

Morning!!

I DID NOT HAVE THE BIG MAC...I did get a side salad & a double cheeseburger from the dollar menu though...not too bad, actually...until you add the portion of DD's McFlurry that I ate...I broke even on points, used my daily points and ate my activity points...didn't use any flex...

Today's menu is the usual for breakfast, a Lean Cuisine something-or-other for lunch, and ham & veggies for dinner.

I do plan on hitting the gym after work for an elliptical or treadmill session...

Today should be a good day!!

WOW Tracy!

You skipped a Big Mac??? :earseek: That is some strong willpower you have there! I love Big Macs and would have had a hard time saying no. Way to go, Tracy! :cheer2:

Disney planning is fun isn't it? I hope everything works out the way you would like it to. We just revised our plans for December for the millionth time yesterday. However, it looks like it will just be DH, DDs, and myself going instead of DH's entire family. Makes planning a bit easier, but it would have been fun to have everyone go!

Hi Tracy,

I have to agree with the sainthood statement. When we went with my parents, it was made clear that I did the planning. I asked what their top 3 things would be, and then I ran with it.

Hope you had a great workout.

Good Morning!!

DD & I decided to visit my folks last night, so we didn't have ham & veggies...I had a BLT & some chips for dinner...BARELY made my points, had only one to spare after that!! Although I have been eating at the top of my points range, I'm not beating myself up...I'm hungry & I want FOOD!! My weight loss journey may be a slow one, but I am not going to starve or deprive myself!!

I had an interesting workout on the elliptical last night. I decided to try one of cross-training routines that the machine was pre-set for...I was huffing & puffing along when it said "PEDAL BACKWARD"....oooo-kay!! Half of the workout was on a ridiculously steep incline AND backwards!! Boy, was I sweating after that!! It was fun to do...not sure I'd want to do that everyday, though...may try it again while Reagan is swimming tonight, to see if it was really fun, or if I was just in a state of delirium...

I must be on a bacon kick--it comes and goes. This morning I had a BLT on a biscuit (no butter)...I really like those...I really like biscuits...sigh...I'll have a Lean Cuisine for lunch, then I stuck a chicken in the crockpot for dinner. I'm not sure how the chicken is going to hold up...put it in at 7am & we will get home at 8pm...at the very least, we'll have soup!!

Yesterday was a great day all the way around!!

I didn't have chicken soup when I got home, but I have to say that the chicken was the most tender chicken that I have ever made! I enjoyed it. Had some corn with it & picked up a few of DD's french fries...I stayed under my daily points allowance & still earned 5 AP...I had 9.5 points left over, not counting flex. I could have eaten quite a bit more & been fine, but we had homework to do, a bath to take & ALIAS to watch before turning in last night...I just sat on the couch like a lump!! :earboy2:

*************************************
We had a turning point with swimming last night:

REAGAN PUT HER WHOLE BODY UNDER WATER!!!!

I was stunned!! I told her that her swimming lessons would be over next Wednesday unless she got really comfortable with the whole "face in the water" thing...that motivated her, apparently. I just couldn't see putting her through a 3rd beginner class when she was so adverse to getting her face wet...I thought we'd just finish up this class & spend lots of time at the pool this summer...now, she REALLY wants to go up to the next level of classes, which I would absolutely support...it's the "strike while the iron's hot" theory, in the case!! I am proud of her...the little stinker...

**************************************

DEx's Mom DID get the dates off that we need for vacation!! I was happy about that...I didn't really want to go in February this time...she did leave a message on my machine last night saying that she was going to look into the nurse's discount at the Dolphin/Swan for our dates...well, Gran, I've got the hotel booked already (which I've already told her...twice) AND I'm allergic to dander/down, so I can't sleep in a "Heavenly Bed"!!!! Don't get me wrong, I love down pillows, down comforters, couches stuffed with down...I just don't like having crusty eyes & a sniffly nose when I wake up, so I gave that stuff up 5 years ago...just wasn't worth dealing with daily...anyway, this is Reagan's trip & she'll have a ball at AKL...of course, if a great code comes out, I would consider switching, but we're not staying at Dolphin/Swan...maybe POLY! POLY! POLY!

Now that my adrenaline is going, I guess I should get to work!!!

Have a super day!!

Good Morning!!

I'm sorry that I haven't been around much!! Work has become quite bizarre over the past week, so I will be in and out at odd times here!

I had a "pig-out" day yesterday...I was doing really well until about 2:00pm, when I decided to have the whole bag of "Butter Lovers" popcorn...then I had a granola bar...of course, I had to follow that up with a piece of chocolate cake & some ice cream...I had a piece of ham & some carrots for dinner...oh, then I had a snack bag of fudge-stripe cookies!!! I'm sure my 30-minute walk at lunch & 30-minutes on the elliptical after work didn't even begin to touch all of that!!!! I wasn't eating emotionally yesterday, it was more of a case of no self-control...I saw food and I ate it!!

Today I'm having this nasty oatmeal (low-sugar, yuck) for breakfast, a Lean Cuisine for lunch...off to the Y for DDs last beginner (I hope) swimming session...then I promised DD I would take her to Wendy's for dinner to celebrate (she could have asked for Red Lobster, Chili's...but, no...WENDY'S).
I should be OP today & should get in 30 minutes of cardio and 20-30 minutes of strength training...I'm hoping that the fact that there is a big chocolate cake two offices down from mine doesn't sabotage me...I AM WEAK!! I love chocolate...

I took the St. Patty's Day challenge...I signed up for 8 pounds to lose between Valentine's & St. Patty's...only lost 4.5 lbs, but I am considering that a HUGE SUCCESS!!! I think my next challenge will be to lose 5 lbs. between St. Patty's Day and April 29...I found out yesterday that one of my all-time favorite rock bands, the Black Crowes, will be coming to Knoxville on April 29!!! Back before DD was born, I was in the music biz, so I went to alot of shows...since DD, I have been to about 5 shows in almost 5 years! I am as giddy as a schoolgirl about this show!! :Pinkbounc I would like to fit into a pair of Ralph Lauren jeans that were pre-DD by the show...right now, I can get them zipped and buttoned...can't move, bend or breathe, though...so that is my goal...5lbs & those jeans should be close enough to wearable that I could suffer through it to wear them to the concert!!! :rotfl: It's all about the small things...

On to trip planning...I'm awfully chatty this morning...I believe our itinerary is going to shape up as follows:

Nov. 30-Wed-arrive at WDW-AKL, dinner at Boma
Dec. 1-Thu-AK in the AM; dinner at LTT; MVMCP
Dec. 2-Fri-MK with CP for lunch; Campfire at FW
Dec. 3-Sat-MK with CRT sometime
Dec. 4-Sun-breakfast at CM before flying home

I hope that leaves us some breathing room...I'm probably going overboard on the character meals, but I figure if we need to have a sit down meal once a day to rest & relax (?), we might as well have characters there...

Have a super day!!!

Hi, Tracy! Ouch on the food yesterday -- just like me this past Sunday! Isn't it weird when we do that? At least you worked out! I didn't even do that! The big difference for me was that I actually recognized I was overeating (2+ pork chops, popcorn at the movies, pria bar, etc) and wrote it all down and used my WW flex points for that food.
Congrats on the 4.5 pounds! AWESOME!!! Just think, you did that in 4 weeks -- doing it again over the next 6 weeks will be very do-able! Good luck!

Tracy-- It could be worse! I used 22 flex points Sunday! It was UGLY!!! Fortunately, they were satisfying points as far as flavor and addressing a real salt craving, but I was feeling so sick by the end of it all. Thank God there is always the next meal to do it right. Congratulations for getting back on track so quickly! Aren't flex points wonderful? An affirmation of our human-ness. I didn't even have to give up my cheat-free clippie, since I had the FPs to use and used them. Hard to believe we can do that -- just one more thing I LOVE about weight watchers!
Have a wonderful day!

Greetings and Happy Friday!!

I hope everyone had a great St. Patty's day...we had a sneaky leprechaun at DDs school, my folks house, & at our house...he turned over furniture, moved shoes & dropped gold coins & candy everywhere!!!

I've been doing well since my binge of a few days ago!! I've stayed OP with food and exercise...had a HUGE salad for dinner last night...it was SOOOO good!! Now that the St. Patty's Day challenge is over, I'm starting the Black Crowes Challenge!!! My goal is to fit into those Ralph Lauren blue jeans by April 29...five pounds or so...I'll update on my progress with that challenge on Mondays...woo-hoo!!

DD progressed to the next level of swimming classes!! :thewave:
She was in the "Pike" class, now she's an "Eel"!! We start those on April 4, so I will have to tweak my exercise plan for the next two weeks since there are no classes between now & then...

This weekend should uneventful for a change...I've got to go to the gym & get started on the housecleaning/laundry tonight...tomorrow, I truly have nothing scheduled (gym?)...Sunday, maybe a day off from the gym & dinner at Kanpai of Tokyo...all in all, I think this weekend is going to be relaxing & less productive than usual (YES!!!). Who knows? Maybe I'll even take a nap!!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!! See ya Monday!!

Good morning!!

Well, I had a big weekend of eating!! I went out Saturday for Mexican food (lunch)...also had pork roast at Mom's with a baked potato & peas/carrots...had a muffelata (sp?) and chips at a deli after church yesterday, then I went out for Japanese last night with friends...oh, and there was some ice cream and M&Ms in there somewhere...sigh...

I checked my weight yesterday & was 1/2 pound over the past two weeks...I didn't give that a second thought, really. This morning, however, I was up 4.5 pounds!!! I'm thinking that the lunch meat/olive salad/potato chips from the deli in addition to all of the soy sauce from my dinner yesterday really did me in...Today is my official weigh-in day, but I'm going to see what the scale says tomorrow after I've been OP today & I'll just average the last three days together or something!!

I've decided to cut out some of the carbs for the next few weeks...I'm not going Atkins, but I'm not going to have any bread/pasta/cereal/rice for a bit. I love my carbs, but I've got to scale back some!

DD has no swimming lessons this week, so I will be walking at lunch & hitting the gym for quick cardio after work...no major 1 1/2 hour workouts planned this week, just a little here, a little there...

Time to be productive!

:Pinkbounc

Good news!! The 4.5 pounds that showed up on the scale yesterday is gone...I did feel all bloated & yucky yesterday...now I know that there were other forces at play & that was not a TRUE weight gain!

With that being said, the scale hasn't moved in two weeks, so my "Black Crowes Blue Jeans Challenge" is about to get even more challenging!! I'm up for it though!

My biggest obstacle this week will be, of course, Easter. My father is getting baptized, confirmed & making his First Holy Communion Saturday night at the Easter Vigil mass (GO DAD!) and we are going out to dinner beforehand (I think) to celebrate...this will be a toughie, I love dessert after a really nice meal...maybe I could have dessert instead of the meal?? Hi Tracy,
What a special Easter this will be for you and your Dad! Maybe you could try the "3 bite" strategy for dessert. Ask someone else to order and just have three bites. I've never tried this, but I've heard it works!

Congrats on losing the mysterious 4.5!

Every little bt of exercise counts. it all adds up.
Congrats to your dad.

Wow you guys have some big Easter plans! That is awesome! I'm not good at the take a bite or two of something - which is probably why I was never successful with Weight Watchers. Portion control is not a strong point of mine. For instance they say "You can eat pizza, but limit it to one slice w/veggies and have a salad." All I hear is "You can eat pizza!" GREAT! This is the diet for me! :rotfl: So if you are able to do the 3 bite challenge then more power to ya sister!

Glad to hear the 4.5 lbs is gone - more then likely your body just retained some extra water from all the fun eating. I love Japanese food!

Happy Wednesday!!

I stayed OP last night with soup & salad for dinner!! I got in a good 30 minutes of cardio at the Y, too! All in all, it was a successful day!

Today I am hoping to get in a long session at the Y since DD is staying with her DGPs and her Daddy (just back from Colorado)...unfortunately, though, I think I may have the beginning of a urinary tract infection...that may derail my plans. I put a call into my OB/GYN & am awaiting a response as I type...let me just say that the drive to work today was pure torture...I was BEYOND squirmy by the time I got here!! :rotfl:

Kristin--Hey!! Thanks for coming by!!

Sunny & Beth--The 3 bite thing could work since I'll have my folks there, we could share a dessert...I KNOW that I could never institute that rule at home, DD isn't much on "my kind" of desserts, so there would be nobody to share with & I certainly don't have enough discipline to put a dessert away or to throw it away...

Amanda--For instance they say "You can eat pizza, but limit it to one slice w/veggies and have a salad." All I hear is "You can eat pizza!" GREAT! This is the diet for me! AND WE SAY THAT MEN HAVE SELECTIVE HEARING...RIGHT!? I'm with you on that one!!

Have a great day!!!

I'm feeling a bit better today--well on my way to recovery, I'd say! I've got 5 more days of antibiotics to take, just to be sure it's gone...and yes, look out yogurt here I come, just to be safe!!

I went to the Y yesterday and did the "gluteal" program (!) on the elliptical, I feel lifted and toned today! :earboy2: That was a booger!! I also went out shopping...wanted a black poncho to wear...all over town, I go...finally, at 9pm, I found one at Ross'...I crack myself up, though...I'm SOOOOO conservative that I don't know whether I will actually wear this thing or not!! I think that if I skip the camisole and wear more of a "shirt" under it, I'll be fine BUT it looks good with the cami, so I should just wear it & quit being so dull, right?!

I got up this morning to go to the Y for my cardio(they close early today) ...I plan to strength train at lunch, then off after work to rescue Mom from DD...or DD from Mom...Rea was out of school today, so Mom volunteered to keep her...I figure that by 10:30am, Mom will be worn out!

I hope everyone has a happy & safe Easter with lots of quality "family" time this weekend! :grouphug:

Good Morning!!

I had a WONDERFUL Easter weekend & hope you all did too!!

MY WEIGHT:
No weight lost this week...no weight gained either!! I alternate programs on the elliptical trainer & vary the routes/intensities of my lunchtime walks, so I'm thinking that I may need to tweak the strength training a bit to get over the hump here...I'm still plugging away...I'm sure those jeans will fit by the 29th!! I'm thinking that the WHOOSH fairy is on her way, she must have gotten lost on the way to my place!!

FOOD:
I did very well with my food choices this weekend & even shared dessert with Mom & Dad last night, so I didn't go overboard. I was in a salad mood this weekend...couldn't seem to get enough green stuff!!

DAD:
Dad's festivities at church went well, the mass was very nice & there was a short reception afterward (lots of cake, I had a bite of fudge cake, but I heard the carrot cake was glorious).

HEALTH:
I'm still battling the UTI...waiting on a call now from the OB/GYN nurse...my back is killing me!! I'm just squirmy...not miserable, just squirmy...keep your fingers crossed that we find the right med this time!!

TODAY:
Had to have some bacon this morning for breakfast, I was really having a craving...I have a big salad for lunch...I believe we'll have Lite Kielbasa & veggies for dinner.

Exercise is up in the air today...I would like to get my strength training in at lunch & do cardio after work, but need to see how my back feels & what the nurse says...

:cheer2:

Have a great day!!

Howdy!

HEALTH & EXERCISE:
I did get new meds for the UTI yesterday, so I'm hoping that we've got the right formula this time! I actually had to go back in for an exam & another round of labs, so I didn't get to exercise at lunch yesterday like I had planned.

I did not make it to the gym after work either...my back was aching...

FOOD:
Don't even ask!! I did well yesterday while at work and it went downhill after that...I dropped my prescription off at the pharmacy after work, took DD out to eat while we were waiting, picked up the prescription & headed home to the Easter candy!!

MOOD:
I think I'm a little sensitive today! I just feel pooped...I feel like the mother of a newborn who's getting adjusted to sleep deprivation--oh, how I remember this all too well...I'm just not stumbly & babbling or bawling!!!

TODAY'S PLAN:
DD is going to dinner with the DGPs & DEx, so I fully intend to get in 30 minutes of cardio & my strength training before I pick her up. I have got to really hit it hard this week to make up for missing workouts on Sunday & Monday. I think a good workout would improve my mood too!!

I brought breakfast & lunch to work today, so I will stay OP during the day...I did manage to PUT AWAY the candy bowl at home so that I don't just grab something everytime I pass it. I still don't know about dinner for me tonight, I know I have salad fixings...we shall see.

Sorry to be such a party pooper today, this too shall pass!!

************************************************** *******

Update: 12:15pm EST
I went for a walk at lunch...the temperature was 59 with blue skies & sun...MY MOOD HAS IMPROVED!! I think that's just what I needed!! :flower:

Hi Hon,

Your back pain sounds to me like your infection is now in the kidney. Not serious, but make sure you push your water and take ALL your antibiotics on time. Try some motrin for the back pain.

Good Afternoon!!

WAY TO GO ME!! UH-OH DD!!
I DID NOT hit the Easter candy last night! I'm mighty proud of myself too! Unfortunately, my distraction from it was a "banged up" DD. Rea took a tumble while playing basketball with her Daddy & she skinned herself up EVERYWHERE! Bless her heart, she was miserable!! I had to give her a "bird bath" last night because she refused to get in the tub...9 bandaids later, I put her to bed. She was stiff this morning & walking VERY slowly...

HEALTH:
I'm feeling better...my back is still slightly achy, but I think I'm getting over the hump with this UTI. Thanks for all of the tips, I've taken heed!!

FOOD:
I had lunch for breakfast & breakfast for lunch today, but I'm 100% OP so far...no clue on dinner yet...

EXERCISE:
I was able to hit the elliptical last night & it was a tough one!! Nothing like a whole 3 days of not exercising to make you realize how easy it would be not to exercise at all! DD offered to go to the Y with me tonight, so I should get in AT LEAST a cardio session, if not the strength training that I haven't been able to do this week.

I hope to make the rounds on the journals tomorrow...today has been a crazy one!!

:wizard: to everyone for a good afternoon!!

Sorry I haven't been around!! Work has been busy for a change!

My poor stove croaked yesterday! It was on it's last legs when I bought my condo, so I called myself being prepared for it's passing...I now know that this is the beginning of a nightmare known as "the kitchen remodel"...replace the stove & venthood...might as well strip the funky wallpaper & paint the kitchen (what color???!!)...get a new dishwasher (it's ill as well)...replace the fridge (not ill, but not aging gracefully)...oh yeah, replace the countertops...get a new sink...

I am not rolling in $$, nor do I have a rich uncle (or a Sugar Daddy), so the 5 year plan for remodeling has begun!!

I bought a Kenmore Stainless Steel stove yesterday & a new venthood...OFF WE GO!! Tonight I have to prepare the kitchen for it's arrival & strip the wallpaper...

Pray for me!!

No, I'm not OP at the moment (stressing?!)

I hope you all have a good weekend...I'll update when I can...

KITCHEN "REMODEL":
The wallpaper is 80% down...the other 20% may never come down...I have NEVER seen such destruction on drywall in my life...no matter how careful I was, the drywall damage was immense! I am going to finish up this coming weekend with the remaining wallpaper & hopefully begin the repair work necessary to be able to paint...

NEW STOVE:
Wow!! I love my stove!! Sounds silly, but I have always loved to cook, so a new stove makes me a wannabe dancing banana:  . I've been unable to really bake anything for almost 3 years (crappy oven)...yesterday I baked cookies, cinammon rolls, a cake & a pizza...everything came out perfect, I wanted to cry!! I had two of the cookies & a piece of cake, but the rest was for Reagan (which she didn't eat either). I brought the cake to work today...ha ha...my coworkers have less self control than I do, I'm sure I'll be going home with a very clean cake pan...

Of course, with a new stove, I had to get new cookware--my T-Fal was a decade old...I got Cuisinart Stainless & it is VERY nice--I'll probably burn a few things until I get used to it...

EXERCISE:
Over the weekend, I didn't manage to make it to the gym...I did spend 18 hours in the kitchen with the wallpaper removal (it was hideous), that should count for something...yesterday I was sooooo pooped, I did absolutely nothing except bake & go to mass...

FOOD:
Sears was 7 hours late bringing my stove on Saturday evening...I was the master of grab-n-go food this weekend...definetely not OP. My breakfast & lunch are OP today & I'll be taking DD to McDonald's tonight (swimming lessons start up again)...I really enjoy the McDonald's side salads (only $), so I may have one (or two) of those...

BEING OP:
I'm disappointed that I haven't been OP this past week with exercise or food, but it reinforces the fact that I'm truly an emotional eater...I need to find another coping mechanism, or at least make healthier choices when I do choose to eat emotionally---I've never heard of anyone binging on grapes or apples though...hmmmm...

Have a great day everyone...hoping (again) to catch up on the journals sometime in the next day or two...

You may have been off the exercise, but think of all the work you did to get the wall paper down. I KNOW that is not easy and it is exercise. Why people put it on drywall, I will never understand. Here's a better one........wallpaper that was painted over. We have that here, in fact I was so fed up with it that after I got the paint off, I gave up on trying to get the wall paper off and it has been that way for 5 years! :scared1: ........Time flies? :confused3 .......It's just a small section in the house and one of my goals to finish over the next few weeks.

Anyway, isn't it great to be able to bake? Not that we need the extra right now, but........ Our oven sounds like your old one, so I don't do much with it either. Hoping for my kitchen remodel in the next 3 years. I really do love the professional stainless steel cookware. To me there is nothing better. You'll have fun preparing all those healthy meals.

Today is a new day and you can get back OP. Have fun working on your kitchen. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Wow Tracy!

Sounds like you have a lot of remodeling going on now. ::yes:: When we lived at our previous home, we took the wallpaper off and it did a lot of damage to our drywall too. It was worth it though because the wallpaper in our kitchen was from the 1960's, was plaid with huge yellow flowers, and had tons of cigarette smoke stains. :earseek:

I would definitely count tearing down the wallpaper as exercise. :teeth: That's a lot of work! ::yes::

Have a great week and enjoy your new stove! :Pinkbounc

IT'S A KIDNEY STONE!! So, I don't have a UTI afterall...I had a really rough day with this thing! I'm hoping to pass it...if not, I've got a procedure scheduled for Friday at 6:30am to seek & destroy!

I'm glad it's not anything any worse than a stone...it feels like the hideous "back labor" that I had when I was hatching DD, so I know I can handle it (sure don't have to be happy about it though).

HEALTH:

I "think" I passed my stone on Wednesday or Thursday...didn't manage to catch it, though...I took a Percocet Wednesday night as a precaution & WHOA, did that have a kick to it! Within 30-45 minutes, I was slurring my words...decided to only take a half if I needed to after that...sheesh! Mom shot another abdominal x-ray & a CT on me last night...saw no stone. I was symptom-free all day yesterday, so I called at 5:00am to cancel the surgery for this morning...well, at 7am, I started having "spasms" (but no pain) again. Called the Dr.'s office back & they said I could still have some irritation/infection lingering, advised me to force fluids & to call them on Monday if I wasn't any better. I hope the spasms go away, I am tired of this!

I am way off program now, I'm hoping to get back on track after this weekend...

Tracy, Beth, Lesli & Pearlieq--Thanks for stopping in!!

Beth--the Dr. was quite a looker...probably early 40's, premature gray hair, nice (tanned) complexion, big blue eyes...he got a little snippy with my Mom about the CT, so that was a crushing blow to my perception of him. He apparently wanted to go on a "fishing expedition" this morning anyway, although we knew that there were no stones as of 8:00pm last night...that's another story in itself...

I'm hanging in there!

Happy Monday!!

I am on the mend!! I feel so much better!! And I only gained one pound with the sporadic exercise & hideous eating that I've been doing!!

HEALTH:
I believe I have recovered from my kidney stone-birthing experience! A little residual infection to clear up, but I've almost knocked it out!

FOOD:
I have been so bad! I gave in to the "comfort food" cravings, which means that I've had LOADS of crappy carbs (bread, ice cream, candy, pasta, potatoes)...I'm back OP with food...we've eaten all of the "good" Easter candy, so the house is safe (and I'm broke, so I can't buy anything fun this week).

EXERCISE:
I haven't been to the gym in over a week, so I believe I will do strength training while DD is swimming tonight...I think I'll take a leisurly walk for lunch today...no sense in pushing it too hard, I'm going to try to get back to full speed (elliptical & weights in one session) by Friday this week...no excuses after that!! I've got a bit more energy today than I've had during the past week, so I'm ready...

KITCHEN:
It is going to cost me $325 to have a friend fix the drywall disaster...I'll be scheduling that for July when DD & I are at the beach...there goes my dishwasher money!! I am going to spray paint the face-plate to the dishwasher black (is now almond) until I can get a new one (next year?)...at least it will look kinda new...that poor dishwasher is as old as the recently deceased stove...it struggles...

Nothing else juicy to tell...ho-hum, life is back to normal!! :earboy2:

Good Morning!

I was OP Monday & Tuesday with food and exercise! I even had only HALF of an ice cream soda last night...this week has started off well. :flower:
I did an hour of exercise Monday & also on Tuesday...I have to admit that the elliptical wore me out yesterday...

FOOD:
I am really enjoying the Southwestern EggBeaters...there is just enough kick in those to make them quite tasty. I'm back in salad mode...I need more leafy greens to cure my craving! Last night I had a HUGE salad with shrimp & balsamic vinagrette...yum! Today, I've got leftovers...a hamburger patty with peppers & onions and green beans. DD has a swimming lesson, so dinner is up in the air...I really wish her food tastes weren't so predictable--now that I have the new stove, I WANT TO COOK!! I've read quite a few articles on introducing new foods to finicky kids, so I think I'll try to expand her food choices gradually with the creative methods that other Moms have used.

EXERCISE:
The weather here is nasty, so I believe I'll take a walk at lunch in the parking garage & then hit the weights while DD is swimming.

HEALTH:
Nothing to report!! All is well!!

UPCOMING CHALLENGE:
DD, DMom & I will be going to visit my "Mammaw" next Thursday-Saturday in lovely Arkansas (my home state)...Mammaw is a rather robust woman who cooks for an army everyday--even though there is no army. A typical lunch/dinner menu is fried chicken/pork chops/ham and fried potatoes, fried okra, broccoli & cheese, mac & cheese, creamed corn, sweet potato casserole & biscuits/cornbread...meal after meal, very little variation...don't get me wrong, I love all of the above (except the okra), but she cooks a heart attack on a plate daily. Oh, and breakfast is biscuits & gravy, bacon & sausage with fried eggs. She will even make chocolate "gravy" for DD, if DD is so inclined...there's nothing like chocolate gravy & biscuits!!

On Saturday evening, we'll go visit Mom's brother & sister-in-law (DD's Godparents)...being an Italian family, I am forseeing a trip to Lazari's...

There is no gym anywhere near where we'll be...no sidewalks in the podunk cities that we're going to...so, I'll venture that exercise will be missed during the trip...so, if you look at all of that food with no exercise, I have a feeling that my "Black Crowes Blue Jean Challenge" is going to be tough to meet!

I think my plan will be to be as OP as possible this week & next week to make up for the unhealthy gluttony of next weekend...Mammaw is (soon-to-be) 81 years old, and I dearly love her cooking, so I have got to be good in the meantime!!!

Gotta go...boss in my office.

Morning all!!

I've been super-busy at work this week...making up for last week's time off!

FOOD:
I've never met a biscuit that I haven't liked...LOL...other than a biscuit & gravy yesterday and a biscuit w/ honey this morning, I've been OP. I'll say I've been 90% OP, which is my goal. I think my biscuit craving has been satisfied...time to move on.

EXERCISE:
I made it to the Y yesterday for strength training & the elliptical. I had to go out of sequence with my strength training (other people in the way) and that was bizarre! I was bushed when I finished it! The elliptical is still quite effective in wearing me out. Needless to say, I went to bed at 9:30pm & slept like a baby...

WEEKEND:
DD has a tea party tomorrow & we'll be carting her partner-in-crime along for the party. The terror twins will then be bunking at our place tomorrow night. I'm pretty pumped...I had lots of fun the last time that Rea & Mary were at the house--they were a hoot!

I'm from the "definitely ugly" part of Arkansas...no kidding!! I'm from Brinkley, which is an hour and a half away from Hot Springs--which is gorgeous. The area between Memphis, TN & Little Rock, AR on I-40 is the armpit of Arkansas. Good Afternoon Everyone!

I had a fun, but frustrating weekend! I began having those pre-kidney stone symptoms again on Saturday & was up all night last night with spasms. The urologist's office should be calling shortly to set up a procedure to check out what's going on--an IVP, iodine via vein to "illuminate" my urinary tract, which is then x-rayed...

I'm not a happy camper at the moment...just frustrated...I'm tired too (lack of sleep makes me a bit fragile)...

Anywho, I've had my beloved oatmeal (been a while) for breakfast & a mini-bag of 94% FF popcorn so far to eat today...not one of my best days for eating, but I'm truthfully not hungry. I had intended to get in some cardio while DD is practicing her newest "fishy" moves at the Y; however, I don't even think I'm up for that...

On a brighter note, I love my stove!! Also, DD was a ham this weekend, the house is clean, the garden has been weeded & "prettied up", and all of the laundry is done!! You could say that I was quite productive between potty breaks this weekend!

Have a great day!

Greetings!!! It's been awhile...so, here's the update!

HEALTH:
The IVP was fine...nothing out of the ordinary there, no more kidney stones...Dr. Hottie gave me 2 weeks worth of antibiodics which I am currently choking down as directed...hate those things...I am still having "issues" and am quite "perturbed", but I still have 7 days of antibiodics to go before I have a little chat with Dr. Hottie.

FOOD:
Well, if it was bad for me, I ate it this past week. I'm looking at getting back OP next Monday...really, I just "carb loaded" myself silly at my Grandmother's...I haven't been bad so far this week, but my choices could be much better...or, much worse...

EXERCISE:
Haven't been to the gym in a while...that's going to come back to bite me...it just annoys the heck out of me to have to stop 3 times in the middle of my cardio to go potty...I have been getting outside quite a bit with DD, so I'm not a complete lump of uselessness...looking forward to getting a workout in tomorrow if my potty situation improves a bit.

TRIP:
We had a blast on our trip to Arkansas! The food was great, all of my family members there seem to be in decent health, the weather was perfect & DD did better than expected during the long car ride.

CHALLENGE:
My Black Crowes Blue Jean Challenge has fizzled due to lack of exercise, so now I will have to come up with another challenge...hmmm...what to do?

I hope everyone is doing well, I'll be checking journals later this afternoon...right now, I'M GOING TO GET A MAMMO!!!!  I'm so excited (can't you tell?)!!
