Just found this story on the local news channel. As we leave in less than 2 weeks, we would like to take advantage of this but don't know alot about it.

Any ideas or has anyone flown out of Pittsburgh recently and been able to use this?

I heard that report over the weekend and didn't understand it. USAirways resumed curbside check in Pittsburgh a long time ago. When I used Air Tran last month, they did not have curbside check. I dropped my mom off with the luggage and then parked. Once inside the terminal we had to get our luggage tagged at the Air Tran counter and then take it over to the scanning machine. That is the step that is eliminated from what I understand. If you check-in inside for USAir, you still have to take it over to the scanner yourself.

From the airport website:

>>Am I able to use curbside check-in?
Curbside check-in is a service provided by the airline. Currently, US Airways, United, Delta, Southwest and American allow curbside check-in. <<<

Thanks Debbie,

we'll probably just have to fly by the seat of our pants next weekend when we get there. Our flight is in the morning and I was already planning to get there early. I just have to remind DH not to wear his Steel Toed boots again like he did last time. They really pounced on him when he went through the metal detectors while I just strolled right on through. I thought that they were going to strip search him.

I understand at MCO, airtran has curbside service, is that right?

There is curbside at MCO for AirTran. They can also print your boarding passes there. We really liked them when we flew with them last month. We arrived at the counter at PIT over an hour ahead, there was no line, we were at the gate in no time.
