Ok, so now is the time of the year that I start my Fariy Godmail campaign

Last year we did over 125 of them, this year we plan to do more.

They will be from the princesses (for girls) and Mickey (for boys)
Last year I included stickers in all mailers, it was great!

We are planning to mail them around Oct 1st once we arrive in WDW

:confused3 I am very interested in this whole idea of Pay It Forward. Can someone please take a few moments and explain to me what exactly it entails? I think: I send someone the name and addresses of my nieces.
Someone sends them a postcard from WDW while they are there.
In return, I do the same thing while we are there.

Does this sound right? I assume the person sending the cards writes the message, since my nieces will probably recognize my writing. Do I need to send the cards to the person mailing them, or are they purchased by the mailer? And about how far ahead of time do I need to plan this? We are going in September, and I don't really want the cards coming too early, so do I look for someone going like 2 weeks before us? The kids are 10 and 12, and it is their first trip. Do you think they are too old for this? I appreciate any information anyone would like to pass on.

Basically you provide one of the folks that have volunteered w/ your childs name and mailing info via P.M., in turn while that DIS board member is at WDW, they will purchase and mail the child w/ a post card w/ a personalized message from a character there. Some folks will even ask what character or what you'd want the card to say....

You in turn, get a child or children's names to send a post card to while you are in WDW...that's all there is to it!

Yes, that is why I'm confused....I assumed if you were asking people to send them to you, you were mailing the items from here. If you are planning on mailing your post cards while in the USA, why not just buy the stamps there? (Not that this is any of my business of course!! Just curious!!) :flower3:

When we were there last September, I very neatly printed a message to the child, then had the character sign. It was pretty easy since we had several character meals (I think we sent 10 postcards, all but 2 with different characters). The only one I had a problem with was Aurora, never did see her, so I had to sign that one myself.

Every gift for every holiday since last summer has been Disney themed! He now has YOMD light up Mickey ears, a Mickey Mouse Denim Jacket, Tshirt, Hitch Cover, Bathroom Accesories..the list goes on!

My wife and I just returned today from a 4 day trip to the world with a girl and her family. My wife is the girl's teacher and has gotten very close to her and her family. The girl has been fighting leukemia for 3 years and the family has been told that she only has a few weeks to live. Her wish was to meet the princesses. Make a Wish Foundation got the family there and we went to help them get around and be sure that Disney did the magic we love. The cast members were just fabulous and paying special attention to this special 10 yr old girl. I can not tell you all the special moments that were created from the princesses to the cast member at the exit gate at the end of the day.

There is one more thing I would like to do for her in the little time she has with us. I would like to have a post card mailed to her from the world. If you can help out in the next few weeks please e-mail me and I will get you the information.

When you receive a PM private message you will get a pop up that tells you that you have one. I have PM'd you so you should have gotten one. You can reply to the PM just as you would to an e-mail.

Ok, I'll try this way. Your daughter is definitely the gal for one of my 4 yr old twin sons. We almost lost him last year when my husband accidentally ran him over in our driveway. He spent more than 5 weeks in the hospital. He was in intensive care for more than a week. God bless the peditricians that did not give up on him in the er when he wasn't breathing or had a pulse. Both of my boys want to go see Mickey and the gang, and how could we say no? As far as characters, he dresses up as Woody EVERYDAY. Please email me if you want to send a card. So this year we are aiming to send out 200 Fairy God mail letters (already 140 on the list) we mail them out in envelopes from WDW , when we are down there (will be mailing Oct 1st) these are predone letters saying “happy to hear you are coming etc. . . . .”

Okay we have gotten our list for postcards. Thank you to all who have pm the info. Now for the best part I Just told DH about our trip. I planned it as a surprize 25th wedding anv. He was thrilled. I also told him about the postcards and how I agreed to send 10 and he said we will add 15 more so we are sending out as many post cards as years we have been married. If you have not done this please do it. We got our 3 cards in the mail this week and kids were blown away that Mickey and the girls knew them and that they were coming. Oldest son sat down and wrote Mickey a letter telling when he would be there and where to meet. It was so cool.

We look forward to sending our cards on our trip the week of Sept 9.

My daughter just received her card and is CONVINCED that Tink has an office in the castle and thats why noone ever sees her is because she is busy writing postcards all day!!!!!!!!:goodvibes I am so glad that she continues to carry the magic in her heart at 10! I am hoping that the card sent to my neice conjures similar feelings but she has never been to WDW and is NOT EXCITED AT ALL! She just thinks its a bunch of roller coasters and food:confused3 There's no changing her mind until we get there I suppose. ANd like the poster above, the parents are totally to blame for letting the magic slip from this childs heart :sad2:

It is wonderful here right now! Great weather - not too muggy, crowds... what crowds? It's pretty quiet. This is probably our best vacation ever, except for the fact that DS is now at college which makes this our first time down here without him :(
