Hello! We got home on Oct.18th from a week trip to Florida, we did 3 days at WDW. I had PM somebody about 1 month before our trip and she was suppose to send my kids a postcard from Mickey saying that he couldnt wait to see them, but unfortunatly to unknown circumstances we never got it :confused3 . Well we sent out 5 mystery cards from WDW to other families, and now I am wondering since my kids never were able to experience the thrill of getting a postcard, if someone could send them one now? :earseek:

We met Wendy (Peter Pan) at MK and they both got her autograph. Maybe it could be from her and say that she enjoyed seeing them at the MK, she loved chatting and getting her pic taken with Allyson but too bad Alec was too shy to get his photo taken with her.

You contact a person who's dates are prior to your trip and provide the needed and requested information to them. Usually you do this through a PM, private message. Peaple will contact you in the same manner but in your case you provided your e-mail so they may do it that way.

Yep! you got it straight. You can PM anyone who is there before you, I would say 1 month before is good. You would need someone going next week to get to your child on time. Go read balc and find someone going now and ask them. Also anyone going about a month after you, can PM you their info for you to send them out. Also, you can tell the person what to write on the post card. FUN huh! :banana:

Thanks also to the person who sent her the Mickey and The Gang postcard. We thought it was cute. I actually identified each type of character on the card for her for example Goofy he is a dog so that she got a lesson from it to.

Just a quick note to all you fairy godmailers out there. We just got back from WDW and I was surprised at how hard it was to find my postcards. We stayed at Pop Century and the gift shop there had very few to choose from and even in all the shopping we did (and we did some shopping) I did not see very many postcards. The lack of choice of characters was astonishing to me, I thought I would have my pick of cards to chose from.

I'm not saying don't do this. I loved the ones sent to our group and I loved sending out the ones I did. I guess if anyone knows a better place to find cards that would be excellent info to have.

I was surprised at the limited number of postcards at the hotel...but found a nice selection at the parks.

Easy to find postcards are the staples...Mickey, Minney, Princesses (in a group -- couldn't find postcards of them by themselves -- well, except for the Princess Pack -- but wasn't fond of those), Tinkerbell.

More difficult postcards were Nemo (found a postcard of the Nemo exhibit -- and used that instead)& Villains (never did find one).

You can definitely find SOMETHING that fits within the categories, just might not be exactly what was requested.

Either way, it was such a wonderful experience for me. I sent 8 cards -- and tried to get most of them done my first day there.

I haven't read the whole thread, so forgive me if this is duplicate info, but just wanted to mention that there are Disney "Friends are Forever" postcards at the Post Office (and usps.com) - from the first set of Disney friends stamps (Mickey-Donald-Goofy; Pinocchio-Jimminy Cricket; Bambi-Thumper; Simba+Mufasa). They are $.25 each.

They also have sets of 20 pre-stamped ones from the first and second sets of stamps - $9.75 ? The second set is about celebrations and includes (Mickey-Pluto; Alice-Mad Hatter; Ariel-Flounder; Snow White-Dopey).

He was sooo cute when I gave it to him, he read it out loud and said "Mommy Santa must have told Mickey we were coming! From my understanding you just post and someone will PM you with their address and then you mail out a postcard from Disney World. The person may or may not give you a message to print on the card. So really all that is involved is the purchase of the postcard and stamp and the time it takes to put it in the mail. This is a great thing to do.

We're leaving Saturday. We got our postcards over the last few weeks. The kids taped them on the wall above their beds.

Be prepared if you have more than one child in case all the postcards don't come on the same day. This caused a little dilema for us.

OK...Don't think I am trying to put a bad spin on this because I love the idea and have already had someone offer to do this for my kids this year. (Thanks again).

I just thought I would make a suggestion when you give someone your info to mail your child(ren) the postcards...Do not tell them the exact dates you will be going. Take your count down off your signature too. Think about it for a second...You are giving a complete stranger your home address, and dates you will be away from home.

We have house guest that will be here to "house sit" while we are gone so it was no big deal for me but...I am sure we are not all going to have this opt.

Just give them a month you are reguesting them send it in.

I would love to think only honest & loving :hippie: users are on here but can never be to careful...

But please keep this going. It is a great idea and I am sure my children will think it is wonderful!

TARAinFL, my boys were so excited to get the Mickey Card! They couldn't believe that he already knew they were going to see him.

dreamer423-WOW where my nieces surprised-so was my sis-Didn't tell her it was coming-That it had the Orlando postmark had them confused as to who could possibly know and send one from there. Ha! It was great! I told her about the wonderful people who are on this board.

The advice, the willingness to do such fun things for others, well, this is just a great place to be when you can't be in Disney for real.
