Hi- been to wdw many times but never Universal. I like to stay at the value resorts at WDW. Is there something comprarable near Universal? A few more questions.
I am looking for a good value- under $100 per night- near Universal (with shuttle maybe) that is clean and has a decent pool.
Where is the best place to find price comparisons for Universal area hotels?
Are there any hotels that offer shuttle service to and from MCO?
Thanks

Thanks- also- can you get rooms on-site for below rack rate like you can at WDW? Where is the best place to look for deals?
When are you going. Rates change drastically throughout peak and non-peak season. I am getting Hard Rock Hotel for $139 in two weeks and the Royal Pacific is going for $119. These are about as low as the rates go. During peak times, you can add $100 to those rates.

You can look at the offsite hotels on my site here
http://www.nogodforme.com/offsite.htm
The 3 onsite hotels of Universal cost more than the value resorts of Disney, so you'll end up staying offsite.
My favorite offsite hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn because it's new.
I wouldn't use hotel shuttles because they are not reliable. That's why I tell people to rent a car, even if it means paying the parking fee.
For my trip up on March 5th, I'm staying at the Amerisuites for $94 a night, which is within walking distance.
