I saw on another board that I was visiting trying to get organized for our trip that Dumbo was out doing meet and greets while his ride is being worked on, he is a real cutie,I have e-mailed Disney right away saying that I think Dumbo should be a permant fixture at Disney,I mean they already have the ride so it would only make sense to keep him out doing meet and greets near and around his ride.I know our family would love to see him in May when we visit, so just thought I would share this news since I know there are a lot of character junkies like us over here,you might want to e-mail Disney and maybe together we could get Dumbo out on a regular basis for meet and greets,how cool!! :rockband:

We are going from February 10-15. Is the ride still going to be closed then??? Our 3 1/2 DD has her heart set on riding Dumbo. It will be her first trip and that's the only ride she ever mentions about going on. Auuuuggghhh!!!! Please please please tell me it will be open by then!!! :earseek: :earseek: :guilty: :guilty:

Dumbo the Flying Elephant in Fantasyland will be closed for refurbishment January 10 - February 12, 2005.

We were not very happy about this. My DD loves Dumbo - hopefully we will see him next week when we go. You seem to be lucky enough to be there for the re-opening. Have fun! I hope they complete it ontime.

You know, I just noticed that he looks like he is an "old costume." He reminds me of those old 7 dwarf costumes that they used to have. Maybe that is why they don't have him out very often.

i agree there. he does look a bit...um...weathered. but he's still aodrable! if they could update his costume just a little bit then he should definitely be a regular in the parks. lol.

I am going in Feb. Dumbo is not listed on the operational updates list online. Only Winnie the Pooh is. Where did this info come from??? I love this ride - i am so upset!
