Hey Everyone! My name is Rachel. I am 19 years old and I am joining WISH because it seems to have the most support of any discussion board. Right now I'm working on losing weight for my Disney Vacation in may but of course I dont' want to put it back on after either! Haha Well here's what's going on!

Starting Weight: 171
Today's Weight 166

Weight loss to date is 5 lbs! Yeah :Pinkbounc

My weight loss goal is eventually 120 lbs but for now for February 1, 2005 is to be at 158 lbs. I think I can make it! I have to work on the exercise thing and I definately plan to when I get back to college (Etown in PA).

I hope you all will be supportive and I hope to make my success story here on disWish as so many others have! :grouphug:

Hi Rachel and Welcome to the WISH Journals!!
You can't find a nicer group of people! I started journaling as I was preparing for the 2005 WDW marathon and now I am going to keep journaling as I shrink this body into a new size and dimension! (Just not shorter, I hope! ;) ) Check our some other journals - you will find lots of info and inspiration just reading how some of the WISHers work towards their own goals! ::yes::

Hey everyone! Just checking in for today! :cool1:
I weighed myself this morning and still 166. Hopefully I'll see a change in the next few days. By the way, I'm on the low-carb way of eating. I did this once before and lost 30 lbs so I'm psyched about it and hopefully it will work as well as last time. Thanks for all the great comments. I will check in later! :Pinkbounc

I just made an interesting low-carb snack that's really yummy. Get salami or the bologna that looks like salami and spread cream cheese on them roll them up and enjoy. It's Really GOOD! :cloud9:

Hey Everyone! :cool1:

I haven't been around because I moved back to college for the spring semester in the last few days and didn't have access to the internet. So anyways. Three days ago I got another pound lost to 165. Today I reached 164.5! Yeah 6.5 lbs lost and never coming back! Haha! Hopefully I can do real good at college and continue the weight loss. :Pinkbounc

I had a goal to be at 164.5 on the 19th and I'm here a few days early so that makes me feel awesome! Everyone is so wonderful on here to me and I love all of your comments.

Talk to you all later!

Hey guys,

I'm having a great day today! :flower1: It was the first day of classes and I had 8am linear algebra and 9:30 English. Not too fond of the English class but I'll just have to suck it up. Should be eating lunch here around 12:30.

So it was another losing day! I weighed in today at 163.5 making it a 1 lb loss from yesterday! Can't wait till I make it into the 150's. Hehe.

Well Keep up the great work everyone. :cheer2: I know you will all get to your goals!

Have a great day! :Pinkbounc

Hi

Just wanted to say, I loved my linear algebra classes and in the end I've used what I learned in Linear Algebra more than any other class! What is your major? http://livinglively.com/clipart/new/smileybluebook.gif Good luck.

Hey Sundie - My major is actuarial science. I don't really mind linear algebra, it's just different from what I am used to.

All your comments were right, I got on the scale this morning and was down to 162.5! I've been at it for almost two weeks now and it doesn't even seem like a chore. I can't believe I've already lost 8.5 lbs! It's amazing. Thanks everyone for all of your comments. Haha! I have class in like 20 minutes so I'm off but I'll be back later!

Thanks so much Michelle for the encouragement. Coming on here everyday helps me get through the days and to look for progress as I go along.

Well, today was a pretty busy and hectic day. I had linear algebra this morning and it wasn't too bad but it's still difficult to understand. Then I was off to English 100. I didn't like my first professor so I switched and I like the new woman much better. Then lunch, then back to the room. I worked on Econ and Calc for a long time; from 1:30 until 7:00 and then I had cheerleading. Cheerleading is always an adventure. I felt good tonight so it didn't seem too bad. Plus I get in exercise!!! Then I got back to the room and worked from 9:45 to 10:10 to finish the homework. And I am so exhausted!!!

Like I said earlier, I've been doing really well with my weight! I'm not sure if I've ever told anyone my whole story but I have time now so I will!

I never even thought about my weight for the most part until highschool. I never worried if I was fat or skinny or anything. I believe part of that was because I went to a Catholic School and we had to wear uniforms. So in ninth grade, I started noticing the difference between me and other girls. I wasn't the biggest but I was definately far from being the smallest. In January, my mom and I started the Atkins diet and we began going to aerobics three times a week. I started with a weight of 150 and by the end of the school year I had gotten down to 130. Even then I really didn't think too much of it, I just knew that I could buy new clothes! Then over the summer I gained back about 5 lbs. So the next school year I started low-carb again and I was lifting weights for gym class and going to cheerleading and I went down to 120 by the middle of winter. I was feeling great and looking great.

Then as I got into summer I probably weighed about 125 at most and was just happy. So I met my boyfriend that summer and slowly but surely saw the weight come back. I was eating out all the time with him and I was eating a lot. Because I was comfortable with myself, I didn't watch as much. Then for prom I wasn't too big, about 135, and I wore a size 6 dress. I felt and looked good still. Then over senior year I got on birth control and continued the obsessive overeating. I ballooned up to 150 by the end of the year and ended up in a size 12 dress for prom.

I was very disturbed about my weight and just couldn't seem to get anywhere. Then I started college, and of course my weight went up even more. So when I began my weight loss on the seventh of January I was at 171. Now I am down to 162.5 and feel great. I cannot weight to get down to the 150's. I'm just taking it one day at a time and hoping only good will come out of it.

So a little more about myself, My name is Rachel and I was born and grew up in a small town in western PA. I love cheerleading and have been doing it since 4th grade. I have a brother and sister. My boyfriend is my best friend and I love him to pieces. He even bought me a trip to Disney for Christmas (which, of course, is how I found this site!). I am going to college at a small private school in eastern PA and majoring in Actuarial Science. Lots of Math!

Well that's it for now, Sleep is calling and I just cannot resist. So I will check back in tomorrow morning with my weighin.

Well, got on today and I was still at 162.5, so not the best but at least I'm maintaining. I'd rather do that then gain! So I'm getting ready for class and will post later on! Hope everyone has a wonderful day today!

So I met my boyfriend that summer and slowly but surely saw the weight come back. I was eating out all the time with him and I was eating a lot. Because I was comfortable with myself, I didn't watch as much.

I can relate to that. I first started putting on weight when DH and I got engaged. Keep up the good work and you'll be down to your goal in no time. You're young and your metabolism will just burn all that away.

Good Morning Everyone! :flower1:

Today is such a great day! Hehe! But I'll start with yesterday! Yesterday, I didn't see any change from my 162.5 and was a little discouraged but I was definately going to try really hard to make the scale go down! So I didn't eat in the cafeteria at all yesterday and just went with the food that was in my room (all low-carb of course)! :jumping2: So I ended up having some cheese slices for lunch and I wasn't very hungry anyways. So I went to the store with a friend to get a prescription filled and bought some low-carb chocolate (very tasty by the way ::MickeyMo ) Well we went to leave and the car would not start! Haha! We thought we were stuck because the battery was just dead! But this nice guy helped us jump the car and we got back to school! Well two of my friends had a birthday this week, so we were having a party! Well they ordered pizza and I ordered Chinese! So I was able to stay on track mostly! The only other thing I had was some of that chocolate I had bought earlier! But that chinese that did not sit well in my stomach and I felt like crap most of the night!

But I got on the scale this morning and told myself that if it was too high that I'd just deal with it and work on it today! Well I got on and well I was down a pound and a half to 161.0! I was like OMG!!! :jumping1: I have made it to 10 lbs! I'm so excited that I've done so well! Hehe! :Pinkbounc

I am down 10 lbs and they will never come back if I have anything to do about it! I can only go down from here! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Well I'm out for now! Got some homework to finish and I'm gonna watch the Disney movie "Hercules". So I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and I will be on later to read journals!

Bye bye!

10 pounds is a GREAT achievement!!!! It sounds so good and feels so much better!!! :) I ENCOURAGE you to stick with it and by summer you'll be down where you want to be. College is a great place to lose weight...I lost 90 pounds my freshman year and kept it off for 10 years (until babies started coming)...I walked, walked, walked....I didn't have a car so I had to walk to the bank, the grocery, everywhere! I didn't even try to lose the weight it just came off....so if you can ever walk instead of ride....try it! It will make the weight come off soooo fast!

Keep journaling...your success and enthusiasm is such a reward for us all!!!

Tara, thanks so much for the encouragement! It seems that college was very good to you! haha! Well I do walk everywhere but the college food gets to me too, so I actually gained about 15 lbs when I first got here. So, I'm working on getting back down to my goal weight of 120! I can't wait and now I'm 10 lbs closer to my goal! I'm glad to be such an inspiration and motivator to so many others as they are to me!

Thanks everyone...I'm cheering you on! :cheer2:

Sundie, Gail, sarahsmom - thanks so much for your words of encouragement, without them I would not be as successful and full of confidence as I am!

Wow, I guess the winter weather got to me last night. I fell asleep around midnight and didn't wake up until 10:00!!! Yikes, that's late even for me. So I finally got up and went over to the scale and well, I'm down another pound to 160! I'm so excited because soon I will never see the 160's again! I'm going into the 150's and never looking back! My body and diet have been so good to me and that makes me happy.

Well we got a ton of snow yesterday. It was covering everything and the maintenance were plowing the sidewalks like 4 times yesterday and the snow would just come and lay down some more. But I got up this morning and its so windy that just all the snow has been drifting in just every direction. Oh well, at least there's still snow out there!

Well I got a ton of things to do today! I am currently eating low-carb yogurt, very tasty. I need to finish homework, do laundry, get a shower, watch the football games, and go to cheerleading practice! Man am I going to be busy today! So I'm off to read some others journals and then to work!

:Pinkbounc Hey Everyone! Just stopping by this afternoon to report a grilled chix salad for lunch with diet decafinated iced tea and an Atkins bar for a snack. I did 15 minutes on the stair climber and some arm exercises for a total of a 30 min workout. I've only just begun working out so I want to take it slow and get used to it! But hey every little bit counts.

:jumping3: I'm doing laundry now and I'm gonna get my calc homework done while I wait for the clothes to dry. BTW my jeans fit pretty loose today :cool1:

:bounce: I have a game to cheer for tonight so there's exercise there also. I haven't decided what's for dinner but I have a while before then anyways. Hope everyone is having a good day and that their weight loss is coming easy! :cheer2:

Well everyone have a fantastic day and I'll be back later to read journals! I actually think a nap is in order for today! That exercise yesterday really got to me!

Ok, so I know its not good to weigh yourself everyday because of daily weight fluctuations, but I do and it always irks me to see the scale go up. I mean if it at least stayed the same then it wouldn't be so bad. Today, I had gone up a 1/2 a lb. I know that's not bad and that it could have been worse. But I only added one slice of wheat bread yesterday and it didn't get me anywhere but up a 1/2 lb. I just hope tomorrow brings me right back down to 158.5. I need to be at 158.0 for Feb 1st. That was my month goal and I intend to make it. I suppose I should be glad that I am not above the 150s but its still so hard.

Well hey I'm down a total of 14 lbs since the beginning. I'm beginning to feel that I can do this. I'm almost a fourth of the way there so I'm excited!

Rachel!

you have been doing such a great job! Don't beat yourself up! OK... You hit a stumbling block.. Today is a new day! It is Feb 6th... Let's look at a 1lb a week loss to be conservative... That will put you back in the 150's by the end of the month and that is conservative... If you feel the urge to snack jump on line and journall... Up your water and add 5 minutes more to your exercize.. That extra 5 minutes is 5 minutes you won't snack and 5 minutes more per day is more minutes per month... Let's get that metabolism moving girl!!! :cool1: I'm right behing ya pushing you all the way!!! :grouphug:

I know its bad but I'm in fear of going to the cafe and just breaking down and eating anything in site; especially all the yummy desserts. I'm not sure how to get over this but I am trying. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great.

I also have a problem with pop. I am a major diet pepsi/coke fan, no caffeine of course, but still addicted. I know I should start drinking water, but I really like just the flavor. I was thinking of getting some of that flavored water from wal-mart and drink that. At least it won't be the pop, but is it still bad if it has carbonation. I don't know. If anyone could clear that up, that would be great.

So, I am down like I mentioned this morning to 157.5, which is better than any number in the 160s so I am happy. I really want to be in the lower 150s by the end of the month. I hope I can lose about 2 lbs a week for the next three weeks. That would be 8 lbs and hopefully in the 140s by Spring Break. I think that its possible.

If anyone has any suggestions about my eating. I do have cheerleading practice :cheer2: , but it doesn't keep my heart rate up for the whole 2 hours, so I really need to find other exercise. I have ordered The Firm and hopefully that will come within the next few weeks. Till then, I do have a Pilates DVD, an exercise ball, and access to the campus gym. I like to go to the gym on Friday and Saturday when it's not too busy. So I guess I need to push myself to exercise on the other days. I need motivation and yet losing weight should be that MOTIVATION! Hehe. I know that but need to get my priorities in order.

I hope that everyone is having an awesome day. My BF is coming down this weekend so that we can celebrate Valentine's Day together! I am so excited, as I haven't seen him since I came back to school in January.

I will update you later,
Rachel :wave2:

Pettyone, Sarahsmom, and Geetey ~ Thanks so much for all of your encouraging words and I will try to have a great weekend! I hope you all have good Valentine's Days as well.

Great day so far! I had a Taco Salad (sans taco chips) and a piece of kiwi for lunch today. They had tropical fruit in the cafe today, starfruit, kiwi, mangoes, oranges, pineapple, and they all looked so good but kiwi is definately my favorite!

I also got a package from my Grandpa today and it had Christmas ornaments with my name and my BF name...it was so cute so I had to call and thank him! He's down in Florida enjoying the sunshine!

Have a great day everybody!

Hehe, Well it's been a pretty good day. I was down to 155 today, so that makes it my third time at 155 and its not because I gained. Hehe. Yeah My new goal is to get below 155 for the first time in a long time. I am so excited. I cannot wait for my 140s. I also joined the St. Patty's Challenge and I am 2.5 for 8 lbs. So I should be in the 140s at the end of the challenge.

Yippie, have a great day!

Well, I know how I write that I do not eat very much and its usually the same thing, well yesterday I ate some salad with cheese, carrots, tomatoes, and almonds and it was SOOO GOOOD! I think it helps me to lose more weight because this morning I weighed in at 152.5 (That's a 1.5 loss from yesterday.) I am so excited about how this is going. I go home for spring break in about 2 weeks and I'd like to be around 147ish! So I am working very hard to achieve this goal. I am off to breakfast with all my friends here around 11:30 and then I have cheerleading :cheer2: for boys bball at 3:00 this afternoon, so it is going to be a busy day!!!

Take care everyone and have a great Saturday!

Hehe! Today has been a wonderful day as well. Aside from the fact that it is just about freezing and going to snow later on, I have had a great day. I had a game this morning and it went by quick. Its one of our last games that we are cheering at.

But the really good news is that I got on the scale this morning and I was met with a wonderful surprise. I weighed in at 149.5!!!!! Which is amazing. That's a 3 lb loss from yesterday and it's below 150!!! Yippie! Now I just hope that I can keep it off for the remainder of the month! I am so excited!

Hope that everyone had a great weekend and I will be back tomorrow with another update!

Hi everyone! Wow! It's been a while. I've had spring break and been very busy with school. Although I've been working hard on my diet I have stayed steady at 150 for about 2-3 weeks. I am so ready to be down to 140! Hehe!
I just got into my third week of The Firm and I really like exercising with those tapes. Hopefully my measurements will go down even if my weight doesn't! Wish me Luck! :bounce:

I am also excited about the fact that I am going to disney ::MickeyMo in 2 months! Yeah. My goal is to lose 20 lbs by then! I wanted to be at 120 but my current plateau has forced me to rethink my goal. 130 is still awesome and I am on my way. I woke up late today and Have done my Firm workout and had some porkrinds and water. I also had a sugar-free jello! Gonna go for dinner in an hour. Then dancing tonight. I have so much confidence in myself right now. Hopefully the scale will begin to go down once again. I hope everyone is doing well!
