I just read that the princesses are coming to Akershus for lunch and dinner too. Link Here (http://www.allearsnet.com/din/restnews.htm) I'm not sure what I think about this. We love Akershus for dinner as it is now. However, we also have 2 little girls who will love the princesses. So, for us, this may end up being a really great change. Although, I'm sure for folks who love Akershus but don't want the "chaos" of a character meal, this could be a really unfortunate change.

I should be happy about this. I've wanted to do the Princess breakfast at Norway for a couple years, but we've never eaten breakfast in a restaurant at WDW. Now I'll have a better opportunity for this character meal.
But I'm not happy. I much prefer the unique opportunity to interact with young people from the host country of Norway. This is just as delightful, and what World Showcase is supposed to be about.
If they wanted to expand Princess meal opportunities, it would have made more sense to do so at Cinderella's Castle. Why not lunch and dinner there?
While apparently the food offerings at Akershus for lunch and dinner won't change, it's a sure bet the price will increase.

I guess they're just trying to give the people more of what they want! I think the choice of lunch and dinner could be a good thing; and there will be a lot less disappointed little princes and princesses! (and their parents as well!) :D

I think they are also trying to get better crowds at epcot and akershus.Last time we were there the crowd at the restaurantwas pretty small. My dd is 13 and likes characters but doesn t go crazy about them but any chance we get to dine with characters we go for it just for the added magic.

I am glad it doesn't start until later in the year! We have dinner at Akershus planned and I wasn't anticipating having the princesses there! Good info to have, though!

The breakfast is like a buffet, right? It doesn't seem to be a menu from Norway to me. They won't change the lunch and dinner to be like this, will they?
The breakfast is sit down family style.
Don't they have a lot of weird fishy stuff for dinner there? Yuck :earseek:

From what I heard the princess dinner will change to being served family style too.
Not a princess person, and liked their buffet/table service combo. Sorry to see it go. But I can understand. I will just need to cross that off once the change occurs.
I think it is May, isn't it?
ooo -- just read April. I need to get in a few more dinners there before the change.
Personally I think the prices are too high. Is this the increase in prices we all were speculating may happen with the new DDE distribution?

I've never been to a princess meal. It's just DH and I and I want to try Restaurant Akershus. How can I expect the character meal to play out? Do the princesses walk around from table to table. Or do they stay in one place and you have to go visit them - this is how CRT works right?

I'm glad that they are increasing the Princess meals, but I don't like that they are in the Norway resturant. Of all the resturants at WDW that is the one menu I can't find even one thing I think I would eat. I've heard it's not been very popular, so instead of adding food that people will eat to the menu, they are adding Princess enticements to get peole to try the food. We will still do breakfast, but still not eat lunch or dinner.

We've done both CRT and Norway Princess Bfast - at both the princesses will go to each table to sign autographs and take pics - if you do not want to have them visit you can tell them or your server _ at both places I have seen adults with no kids - some interacted with the princesses some didn't. It is a personal choice - so go and enjoy.

I just made reservations for the princess dinner in April. The CM told me that they were revamping the menu for dinner, since he even thought the original food was un-appetizing there. I wondering when they will release the new menu?

I actually didn't think the food there was so bad, it was actually one of our must-dos. I too can understand why they might be doing it, but am sorry to see the change. We will no longer be going because of the Princesses, but plenty of other restaurants to take its place, I'm sure.
