Count me in! I did the Firm lower body (legs, hips,) I can't remember the official name. I have a question, though. Was a mat supposed to come with the box? When they do "lay on the tilted box" stuff and they have mats, I am slipping off mine. Thanks!

Good evening Firmies!

Just a quick check in. I did BSS3 Total Muscle Shaping this morning with Stephanie. I think this is the toughest of the 3 new work outs. I feel great though and this work out is really growing on me.

Sheree - great job as always with your work out! Thanks for getting us started on another Firmin' week!

Sundie - The friend that lent me her Firm 3 work outs gave me a matt that she purchased separately. It makes all the difference in doing the table work. It's just a yoga type matt but it's wonderfully cushiony and makes the moves a bit easier. When I asked her why she bought a separate matt, she said one did not come with the box, which makes no sense to me at all.

Good morning, rode the eliptical bike (ok I know I spelt that wrong) but I was able to move it up a notch and make it a little tougher. Got in about 25 minutes and it's a nice compliment to the tapes. Can I whine? Is it me or when your over your "friend" do you feel ten pounds lighter. Man hitting forty really changed me physically. Wha wha wha. OK better now.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day

Ok Sundie, for my FIRM box I use one of those shelf liners to not slip off my box. Those somewhat sticky kind. Get a roll for $3 at Walmart and it matches the color of my box. It helps though.

I missed Saturdays workout because I was at an all day crop so I decided to do Saturdays today because it is more challenging than cardio sculpt. Well I didn't get to Express cardio yet and only did Complete Body Sculpting. I got too winded, and light headed. I think it has to do with this cold that is creeping up on me and I am trying to nip it before it gets me. So I will do Express cardio tonight.

Hello Firmies!

Happy Monday to us all!!! This morning I did Cathe's basic step. I like this work out. Cathe's style is fresh and different from the Firm instructors (not better or worse, just different.) I'm not having as tough a time learning her basic moves as I thought I would but I am doing the beginner/intermediate work out so I know she's taking it easy on us.

I'm down 1/2 pound this week and that's amazing for me. I don't usually use anything from week to week but last week it was one pound and 1/2 pound this week, I can go for 3-6 weeks and not see a drop on the scale so I'm happy!

s&ksmom - I'll be 40 in a few years, nice to know what I have to look forward to when my friend leaves! Ha!

Sundie - I should have figured money has something to do with a matt not coming with the Box. You spend enough money on the videos and equipment, I think the least they could do is give you a cheap matt for the thing. I do like the box better than the fl simply because you don't have to always look down and make sure you aiming your foot to hit the box.

Hi Sheree, hi cobbler!

I hope you all have a wonderful Firmin' Monday! :cool1:

Good morning all!

I accidentally posted yesterday's (Sunday) workout on last week's thread. Yesterday I did Calorie Killer and the second part of Firm Abs.

Ok, my turn to whine. I can't workout this morning because we are having water heater problems, so I can't take a shower. Boo-hoo! :( Hopefully, I can get back on track tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a great new year!
I'm back and ready for "Firming"!

For those who remember me- DH had to have a triple by-pass last Sept, and between that and work- the diet and exercise just kind of slipped to the back burner.

Thankfully, he came thru with flying colors- he is doing his Physical rehab now, so the whole family is back on the diet/exercise plan.

I gained back 15 of the 65 pounds I lost- but I have already lost 4.5 of that so I should be back to where I left off by the end of the month.

Now as for Firming- I have to say, I don't recommend a 4 month vacation. I did my first tape since Sept -Sat night- Cardio Sculpt with Allie - I got all the way thru it- but no weights -and I am still feeling it in my thighs today. I hate that I lost all the endurance. Well I know I did it before- so just gotta work thru it.

It's great to see some familar names and some news one too- I look forward to a great year of Firming!

WELCOME BACK JULIE!!! It is so good to see you posting again! I left a message for you in your journal. Great job getting back into the swing of things, girl! :cool1:

Well, I am still battling a a cold and so Total Sculpt and Day 5 of Five Day Abs was a challenge. I so needed it though! We are looking for a new car and I have been stressed (re: eating) like crazy! Ugh!!

Have a great Tuesday!

gadizlover, thanks for the good news on your husband.

toysstoryduo, we've had that cold here too, finally getting over it.

No work out today as a little princess I live with was playing with the alarm and it didn't go off.

Nancy Tucker tape tomorrow, Lord I still want to take that woman out to eat and feed her!!

On the rotation schedule, it was a rest day. So I rested........from the firm that is :)

I did cathe's body fusion workout instead. I just left out the weights. The music is like stephanies express cardio and I do the firm so much, I kept hearing Stephanie's voice and it almost made me mess up!!! However I hung in there and did it all with no mess ups. Once the music changed, I could hear Cathe's voice and everything was all good. All that tells me is that I firm toooooo much

Julie - welcome back! We'll glad to hear good things about your DH and his surgery. You picked a nice difficult routine with Allie to get back into the Firm way of things. Good for you!

This morning I did Super Body Sculpt (upper body and abs).

Sheree - I have a question about Body Fusion. Is this part of the Basic Step+Body Fusion DVD? If it is, can you tell me the difficulty level of this one. I haven't gone beyond the Basic Step and I think I'm ready!

sm4987
01-11-2005, 10:23 PM
Lisa, yes it's a part of it. At least it's on my DVD. It is a little harder than the newer firm workouts. However, some of the beginning moves are exactly like the firm. They seemed to have taken a lot of moves from Cathe's body fusion workout. Honestly since Christa's workout is your favorite, there are moves from her workout in Cathe's. Also some of the newer ones, the moves are from Cathe. It does tire you out. I have done the whole body fusion with the weights and it was awesome. I just needed the cario for today. She does a lot of turning moves and rock steps with impact. It takes a time or two to catch on, but when you do, you can whiz through the workout (but break a real sweat). I thought that the pure beginner workout was to easy. I think you can do it!!! It might be right up your alley for now.

Good morning today was super cardio sculpt with Nancy Tucker. I finally figured out I think I have a sinus infection which is why I think I've been rather lackluster working out. But I got most of the tape in before DS woke up. I'm dying for my new tapes to come. I think I'm gonna get 10lbs weights to. Just for the lower body workouts as I think I really need to "shock" my butt!

I'm finally able to post for today! I didn't work out this morning but was determined to do so when I got home. I think the phone rang 5 times and kept interrupting me everytime I went to be the DVD in the player! I did Cathe's Basic Step+Body Fusion. I picked the lower body work out and the ab work out. Boy was that one tough 30 minutes! My abs, gluts, knees and thighs are all screaming at me! In a good way but still. My abs feel so tight right now, it's unbelieveable. I feel like I'm walking straighter too! Cathe is one tough cookie but I'm loving it. The abs portion is only 10 minutes long and I thought how bad could it be, especially since I don't even have a stability ball and did the moves with the instructor on the floor. Boy oh boy was I wrong. That was one long and tough 10 minute ab set. I do have to thank my Firm BSS3 work outs though because I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to get through that ab section without first doing some ab strengthening on TMC and CBS.

Sheree - as always your advice is right on the money. I do feel ready to step it up a bit, but of course never truly leave my Firming behind. Cathe is just what I have been looking for. I just love her style. She doesn't mind saying how tough the sets are and I love when she shouts out because I am usually thinking I want to shout out too!! I'll try the body fusion segment on Saturday or Sunday when I have 50 minutes to devote to working out. I'll post and let you know if I survived!

Have a great Wednesday night ladies!

Today was advanced cardio blast and express cardio. I swear ACB must be the hardest workout of the new series. I love the kick but boy does your body feel it while you are working out. :cheer2:

Hey all my FIRMing buddies!!!

Well I'm back from the Marathon and I can't wait to start Firming again. My big toe is hurting me from a fall I had during the race but it feels much better today. I may get up and FIRM tomorrow if I can get my sneakers on without too much pain and it doesn't hurt to walk.

A huge Thank You to all my FIRM friends for all the support last year while I was a regular FIRM gal. All that FIRMing really gave me the leg muscles I needed to be able to accomplish the marathon.

So it's been so long.............what FIRM tape should I try tomorrow. I'm thinking maybe going back and starting with BSS2 (where I started last year).

Morning, finally got on the exercise bike today it's one of those eliptical (sp?) so though you feel it's easy when you get off your huffing and puffing. Got in 30 minutes and a few moments with the dumbells. I have to admit I'm having such a hard time with my mid section it's just out there! I'm about 125 so my weight is good but I can't get rid of my jelly belly. That's the whine for today!

Julie-
I don't know you but welcome back :)

SM-
I think Nancy is trying to kill people ;) I did ACB and EC yesterday, WHOA!!! I swear it gives super cardio a run or its money. It may be even a wee bit harder. I soo wanted to stop after ACB and not even do EC but I did. And tomorrow :faint: whew, I think I am going to be tired.

Melanie -
Great job on the marathon, I want to be able to go and do one, I think '07 will be the first time I will get the chance.

Everyone else
Hope all is going well with you and have a good day :)

Last night I went home and did Cathe's BS+BF (lower body and abs sections) again last night and this morning it was Firm Super Cardio Sculpt with Nancy Tucker.

Melanie - Let us know which work out you pick. Do you have any of the Series 3 work outs? My recommendation would be my personal fav - Complete Body Sculpting with Christa. You want to build your muscles, this one will do it!

Have a great weekend Firmies!

Cobbler, I don't have super cardio. Hmmm, may have to get it. I always sub a workout for it. I do think Nancy is trying to kill us. I swear that woman must thing we're made of iron. The funny thing is I do double workouts all the time, but this week, they've been tiring me out!!!

Are we talking about Nancy "needs a hamburger and fries" Tucker. Oh what I wouldn't give for her waist.

01-14-2005, 07:56 PM
I have grown fond of Nancy (needs to eat a burger) over the last year. Pam Meriwether from the BSS3 series has her beat with looking emaciated. I did Super Cardio Sculpt this morning and boy did Nancy give me a good work out!

sm4987
01-14-2005, 08:58 PM
Yup, talking about Nancy "needs a hamburger and fries". She is hosting the firm rotation this month. Every workout just about is a double. Tomorrow's workout is almost an hour and a half!! I like Nancy a lot. I don't mind the hard work, that jus means that I'll be in great shape at the end of the month.

I do love Nancy and she can be tough but she is always so upbeat. No workout this am but I have decided I need to really boost my workouts to make a dent (so to speak) in my waistline. I think DD is coming down with an ear infection and I think getting the new tapes will motivate me. The firm rotation you guys were talking about is that on the firm club?

Hey all!!

I just did FIRM Sculpt plus Abs! Woo hoo it felt good to get back to FIRMing. I've forgotten all the steps though. I'll have to learn them all over!

Wow an hour an a half doing Double FIRM with Nancy! Woo Hoo now those are some workouts. I remember doing Standing Legs and an upper body one right after the other. Boy was I in pain the next day!!!

sm4987
01-15-2005, 12:13 PM
Today was total muscle shaping and fat blasting cardio. I really should learn to do the all cardio first and then the weight lifting. Lifting then cardio makes me tired.

s&k's mom, yeah, they post a new rotation on the website every month. At the end of last year, they did a three month rotation. With Lisa first making the workout, then Christa and then Stephanie ended December. Stephanie was the hardest until Nancy this month with the double workout. It is great, I feel wonderful, just tired. I like the challenges they present every month. They have some great rotations, some for the butt, legs, tummy workout and circuit training. THere is definately something for everyone.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!!!!!!

I haven't posted in several days, so here's a quick rundown of my workouts. Wednesday - Super Cardio Sculpt and part of Firm Abs. Thursday and Friday - no workout. Today - C.A.W.T. and Cardio Sculpt Blaster. I felt like I needed a longer workout to partially make up for Thursday and Friday. TOM finally arrived and I feel a gazillion times better. I've been eating chocolate the last 9 or 10 days to feel better emotionally. Fortunately, I didn't gain any weight. And I haven't had any chocolate cravings yet today. I'm 48 and can't wait 'til I don't have to deal with this stuff every month. It seems to have gotten worse as I've gotten older. Thanks for letting me vent.

Have a great weekend!!

Do you mind having a new face on the FIRMies thread???

I just did my first FIRM tape today - BSS2's MCB+Abs w/ Allie. I didn't use the fanny lifter or the sculpting stick - was just trying to get the lay of the land, so to speak. I was sweating! Boy, do I have a long way to go!

I can see it will take some time for me to get the steps down but that's OK. The time really flies by because I have to pay such close attention! :p

MelanieC
01-15-2005, 03:50 PM
Hey Doreen,
Welcome to the FIRM thread!! FIRMing is so much fun!! It will take a little while to get used to the moves. You also may experience some knee pain in the beginning, but hopefully your muscles around your knee are built up from the walking. This goes away once you build up the muscles around your knee.
I swear FIRMing last year is what got me through the marathon since I had quite training until very late in the game!

Welcome Doreen!

I remember sweating A LOT when I first started Firming. I didn't mind though because I knew it meant my body was working hard. Before you know it you'll have all the steps memorized; just keep at it. Add weights slowly after you're comfortable with the moves. Keep us posted on your progress.

Today is a rest day for me, except I would possibly like to get FIRM yoga in. I'm also sore from my Total Sculpt workout yesterday. It's amazing that you could get sore from a 13 mile workout the week prior and be sore in totaly different muscles from doing the FIRM. It just proves why you need to use weights to help with walking and running. Even my butt is sore today.

Tomorrow I am going to start training that will include 2 days a week to cross train. I will use those days to concentrate on sculpting.
