I've lurked for awhile and am jealous of all the success you guys have had! Now that most of my life is in order (yeah, right! :earseek: ) it's time to focus on me.

I'm 39, have a 6 year old ds and almost 10 month old ds's. My goal is simple--I want to be a SLAMMIN' 40 year old! LOL!

I used to be very active and athletic and I'd like to make that part of my life again. I'm making plans to join Team in Training this fall and do the WDW Marathon. I'm starting to work out now with a trainer to get my flab off and get some strength back so I'm ready to train come fall.

I look forward to getting to know you!

Good for you!! It definitely can be done. All it takes is one day at a time. :)

Welcome to Wish!

I have also recently "delurked" and I'm so happy I did. You've taken the first step of making the decision to get back on the right track. Set short-term goals for yourself and before you know it the active, athletic person lurking inside you will also be "delurked."

Good luck on your journey. Check in often to let us know how you're doing. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for the welcome! I *know* I can do this, it's just realizing it won't be easy that makes it daunting! Sharing support and tips helps very much, though, so I can see why this has been a successful bunch!

Welcome to WISH and the 5 pound off challege in January. I didn't realize you were a lurker. You've done the right thing in posting. There is so much encouragement and so much energy on this thread. I look forward to coming here everyday and soaking up the successful vibes. We look forward to getting to know you better.

By the way, I hope to run/job/walk in the 1/2 marathon next year too. Can you tell me what the Team in Training is?

Welcome to WISH, zagafi. I'm glad you decided to join us. You will find lots of motivation and support here.

We have a WISH chat every Monday night at 9pm est. That would 8pm for you I'm guessing (the only silver arch I know of is in St. Louis and that's central time, right?) I hope you will join us.

Visit WISH as often as you can and participate. You help us and we'll help you. I just love the way WISH works :)

Yep, I'm near St. Louis, but on the IL side of the river. I'll try to make the chat, but that's my targeted gym time. Of course much depends on the little people in my household! LOL!

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to WISH and out of lurkerhood, zagafi!!

I firmly believe that you can only make a change in one area of your life when the other areas are settled down. Good for you for getting everything else in order so quickly (my DD was about 3 1/2 when I finally tackled all that post-pregnancy weight) and focusing on yourself for a welcome change!!

You know, that really *is* key. I've never thought about it like that before but one life change at a time is enough--and this has to be that--a life change.

I'm remembering very quickly why endorphins are my friend and am seeking them out more often. Exercise is good for me and my family!
