I'm not interested in all the supplements that "block carbs" or "delete fat" or whatever. I am wondering if there's something, SAFE, that suppresses the appetite. Just something simple that makes you think you're full, not hungry. I know that's controlled by some part of the brain and I don't want to chemically mess with it. :smooth: Is there anything safe and natural?

Lots and lots of water! Have you tried using fiber pills? I tried them but I think my appetite was supressed due to all the water I had to drink to get the pills down.

Thanks Sandy,
I'm trying to analyze my eating habits and I've found that once I feel the tiniest of hunger pains, I obssess until I've eaten something. I'll try the fiber and water. I wish I could just turn off that brain switch!
Have a wonderful week.

This isn't exactly what youre looking for, but it is completely natural. If you find vitamins with EGCG in them, it will increase your metabolism. EGCG is a protein found in green tea.
sidenote: Researchers are starting to prove that EGCG is also able to prevent certain types of brain cancer from spreading! Itr doesnt get much better than this!

I agree with water, but for some other reasons. Most Americans are walking around dehydrated and their bodies have forgotten to tell the difference between the signals that say you need water and you need food... most people interpret the signal that they want water as increased appetite. If you keep yourself properly hydrated, your body will stop sending those dehydration signals that you are interpreting as appetite. It also does help with the feeling of fullness and general well being too.

I agree with everything said about water above, and just want to add that what made an enormous difference to my own appetite was completely cutting out processed carbs like white flour and sugar. After my first several days of Atkins (and this remains true on South Beach), I found myself wondering at mealtimes if I really *had* to eat all that food I had made for myself, and it was just the same amount as before.
