Just curious how many PS's you make on an average trip to Disney?

The first year we stayed for 5 days and made no PS's. I kinda liked just going with the flow, but missed the great dining.

The second year we made a PS for almost each day that we were there..7 days. It was great eating all of that wonderful food, but I felt like I was held a little captive by having that many PS's.

So..how many PS's do you make during the length of your trip?

Last year I made 1 PS for 3 night and 4 days. This Feb. made 2 PS for 4 nights and 5 days. The reason 1 is CRT and I know you can't just walk in and get a seat. I myself also don't really want a schedule to follow on my holidays. The rest of the meals will be decided when were hungry.

I generally only make same day PS's from my Disney Resort hotels as we do not like to plan far in advance. We have had good luck with our choices, only being disappointed once on our last trip, for example.

we have a PS for CRT and LeCellier for this trip...that's it.

At least one a day and usually that is a dinner one.

I find it helps with planning your itinerary.. just one thing a day - where you know you have to be somewhere... a target, keeps you on track :)

:D Usually we only make one or two, this trip we have so many that the lady at wdw dine was laughing telling us we will have to do alot of walking! Even in the summer time we usually have no problem eating without ps.

We usually make at least one per day and it varies on which meal depending on our plans for the day. Because we are a family of 5, getting seated in a timely manner on our first trip took forever. Since that time we have always made PS. My DH jokes that he only goes for the food!

We have a young DD, so we make a few PS's for character breakfasts. We also have PS's for dinner almost every night. (We usually go for 8 days/7 nights). We had 10 PS's in total for our last trip, but we often cancel at least 1 or 2 if we change our minds. You want to have enough PS's so that you don't get stuck looking for someplace that will take you at the last minute, and at the same time not feel like you always have to stop what you're doing for a scheduled dinner. We've struck a balance that suits us well, since we love to have fun at WDW and we love to eat!

In general we make 1 PS for each day. There are so many good places though, sometimes we have to make 2, breakfast & dinner, to get in everything we want. If we do 2 sit down meals in a day we usually skip lunch or just have snacks.
On my last trip I went for 4 days with no PSs. Surprisingly it worked well.;)

Usually I make one a day. I don't feel tied to them though, and we always end up cancelling at least one and substituting something else instead. But because we visit at busy times, I like knowing we'll have a decent meal without a long wait if we choose to keep the PS.

A lot depends on who I'm visiting with too. If I'm there with my family, we tend to keep more of our PS's because DH and DS's need the sit-down and relax breaks. When I was there with my friend in December though, we ended up cancelling all but 2 of our PS's, and one of those was a prepaid CP dinner package.

1 per day also. We find it easier to cancel if we are not in the mood then to try to get in at the last minute. We do often rearrange some of our PSs after arriving if our taste changes. But like knowing that I have a place to eat daily if I need it. We may do a PS for lunch one day, and a PS for dinner another day. Never 2 PS in one day--we tried that and it was too much. We have our favorites so never want to miss them even though we visit every couple of months.

We make two per day -- sit down park lunch (a must for our little ones) and dinner. I plan our trips pretty carefully as the boys need structure and routine.

That said, we have put our plans aside, and that includes our PSs, when we want to. I don't make "frivolous" PSs, but I am not hesitant to change my mind, even at the last minute, if that's what's best for our family. A PS is (usually) not a reservation and WDW plans on a certain percentage not showing up anyway. So we don't feel bound by them at all.

We are going in March for a week, four of those days are Disney days. We have a PS for our first night at Chef Mickey's for dinner, second night for Biergarten in Epcot's Germany, a non-park day at Whispering Canyon Cafe for lunch, and one for dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. So out of our week-long trip, we have 4 PS...2 for in the parks, and 2 for non-park days. The other meals, we'll wing it!

We make PS for most of the nights we will be there but we always leave one or two nights open for those let the wind take us nights. Often those carefree nights lead us to places we wouldn't normally have tried.

We make about 1 1/2 per day (some days one, some days two) for lunch and/or dinner. I find that regardless of how busy the restaurant is, you get seated more quickly if you have a PS; we almost never have to wait more than five minutes. I'd rather have several unnecessary PSes than not have one when you really need one.

We're a group of 11, so 1lunch PS per day to at least meet up with the entire group for a meal to re-group, and split up according to height requirements on rides, park hoppping, etc.
We do have a Good morning Gathering breakfast PS as part of Magical Gatherings, HDD and PSB as well as a PS everyday for lunch

I would make one per day. On our honeymoon trip, I made too many and we were kind of held captive by our dining plans. I did cancel some of the PSs we'd made, but I have since learned not to be a slave to my plans. I will always make a PS for CG and am interested in trying many new restaurants suggested by folks here.

Depends on the type of trip. If it's just me & my DS (16), I may only make 1 PS every 3 days, if that. We usually fly by the seat of our pants & eat where ever we wind up.

If we are going with DH, or if my parents or other family members are joining us, we tend to make 1 PS a day. DH's favorite part of Disney is the restaurant experience. On top of that, he isn't very patient, so PS's become important for him.

Next trip (April) is a Family Trip & is alot about dining & relaxing. We have plans for 10 PS's for 9 days.

August is just my son & I for a week & we'll probably only make 1 PS.

December is extended family, including my 2 Step-Grandchildren. I imagine we will need to make at least one PS a day. Schedules are really important to them & their comfort.

My and my DD (9) don't do Disney camando style. So I make at point to have one relaxing, sit down meal everyday. I enjoy taking a break after all of that walking.

We usually only make on 1 or 2 per week up front for places we know we want to try. We will usually make 1 per day once we are there depending on our park schedule for the day. I've never had trouble getting a PS for the same day, but that's probably because we make the difficult places in advance.

We have a PS for every dinner nightly, a couple of special lunches, and one or 2 breakfasts. Our stay is usually 8-9 days long. We've gone to LTT for dinner, and had a group of 4-5 people come in ahead of us w/o a PS while we had one. We got seated before them, ate our dinner and were leaving, and I noticed them still waiting. I never leave home with out my PS's!

We always have at least one PS per day. If we do a character breakfast, we will usually have a PS for a dinner that evening and only snack in between. I've been working on our schedule for our summer trip and have 10 PSs to squeeze in! I'm constantly looking at the list, trying to pick a restaurant or two to eliminate, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I'd also much rather have too many PSs than not enough. I've seen too many people turned away or told they would have a 3 hour wait not to have them at all.

Ive been told "have 1 PS for each day especially in the summer"
sooo Im planning on 1 dinner PS (arrival day)
2 char brkfst (days we're changing hotels)
and 11 lunch PS - thinking about 1230/1pm after spending a morning in a park we'll eat and then head back to our resort - a few times Im thinking of either an 11am lunch PS or late brkfst 10am PS followed by pool time

except for the 2 brkfst PS Im planning on making PS at places where we choose what we'll eat - that way I can order a few chicken salads, etc and not feel like I need to eat alot

and the 2 days with char brkfst PS we'll skip lunch

I make 3 for every trip, one Breakfast PS, one lunch PS and one Dinner PS.. however we spread them out because doing them all on one day would be nuts.

This years trip ( this Saturday!!!!) We have PS for Valentines Day Dinner at Tony's, A PS for lunch later in the week at Prime Time and one on our last day for Breakfast at Chef Mickey's

Mmmm I cant wait, its going to be yummy!!

..and watched people being turned away from many restaurants when they did not have a PS. I always make at least dinner PSs for each night of our stay with the occasional breakfast or lunch PS thrown in . (If I make a buffet breakfast PS, I do not do lunch) :mickeybar

We have one ps per day. Going in higher peak time this is a wise thing to do. Ya know chicken strips, pizza, and burgers do get old especailly when you go for 12 days!!

We usually eat at all, have had to cancell 1 or 2. Nothing major!!

None--we just walk in. We have been very lucky, plus we often go very early (4:30) or very late (8:45), and don't go during the busiest seasons.

We like to be spontaneous at Disney and just do whatever strikes us--so far this has worked well for us for the 8 trips we've made since we first started buying annual passes in October 2003.
