Which Boardwalk Restaurant with kids?

We will be at WDW in April and would like to spend an evening at the Boardwalk area. Any suggestions for a good place to eat dinner with 2 kids age 7 and 4? They are not overly picky.

Try the Big River Grille. Never a long wait and decent food. Was fun to sit outside and look out over the water.

Does Big River Grille take priority seatings?

If they are sports fans,I suggest ESPN. My DSs love it there and its a must do. We have always had very good meals there...love the nachos. ;)

I agree with Camcolt about ESPN if they are sports fans. I ate there last month. I was solo, but there were several children there and they seemed to really like the place (so did I!). My sons are older, but I think they would've enjoyed ESPN at those ages.

Does Big River Grille take priority seatings?

Here's another recommendation for Big River Grille - pretty good food and really good beers. However, I don't think they do Priority Seatings. If you eat at a slightly off hour (like not right at 6:00), it shouldn't be too hard to get a table quickly. Also, even if the tables are full, you can eat in the bar area, which usually is not full.

One weird thing about Big River Grille..no french fries! It seemed that the meals came with potato chips which is pretty cheap for them I think- they may have them for kids but we didnt notice that

I would say the ESPN club too and you dont have to be a sports freak - the food is good

Big River Grill does now take PS's (we were there this week). No fried foods at all on menu, hence no french fries. We ate there and Food is OK, nothing to write home about.

Depends on what you want to spend. Big River is moderately priced with moderate quality food. Spoodles is a little more $$ but much improved food offerings. Flying Fish is very $$$ but great food. All are OK with kids.,

If you had asked me this prior to Thanksgiving, I would have said Beaches & Cream. We don't have kids and we love it, I can only imagine that kids would adore it. Prior to our most recent trip on Thanksgiving, B&C was a must do for us. We like the fancier places but we always saved one or two meals (lunch or dinner) for B&C because they have (HAD) the best burgers on property. Went there this past time and they totally changed the burgers to the nasty square ones like they serve in the parks. I was so upset.

We love Blue Zoo and Yachtsman Steakhouse, but you're talking about kids so maybe those aren't the best choices for you. I absolutely HATE Spoodles...worst sit-down meal we've ever had at Disney. So I can't with good conscious recommend that one. So, I'm thinking Kimonos for Sushi...just kidding. That's another fave of ours.

How about Cape May Seafood Buffet - if they like seafood...although they have kid friendly food. I believe it's a character dinner.

Cape May is a character breakfast, but dinner is characterless.

Spoodles is hit or miss. Its a good place for kids and adults....I didn't like my entree, but chose poorly (it was good, just wrong for me). Everyone elses entrees were fine.

If you've used park admission for the day - and can hop - the BW is right out the back door of Epcot. Many WS restaurants can be considered "in the BW area."

If you do consider cape may buffet at the beach club, for entertainment there is white butcher paper on your table and they give you a little pail of crayons, that would keep your kids busy, also you might want to consider gullivers at the swan. They have 2 characters at their buffet several nights a week. Our 3 ds like espn, but heah, they are sports nuts. I think its fun for kids enough to hold their attention. They even gave our kids a little hand held game to keep while we were waiting in line for our table, it wasnt long and my ds handed it back, they said, no its yours to keep. They were happy. They dont take reservations at espn, but cape may does. Good luck deciding.

I would recommend Flying Fish - when I was making plans for our trip in November, I planned on FF being a mom and dad dinner with DD going to a kids club. (DD is 5.) When she found out she wouldn't be going to FF, she said but that's my favorite restaurant. So I changed plans to include her. She was great - the food was great!!! It is interesting for kids - there is a list somewhere of things for them to look for in the restaurant. It is a resort theme - DD found a roller coaster and flying fish (of course!!)

If your kids are younger than 10, I would also go with Cape May...no charactesr, but great kid-friendly food and atmosphere. Something for everyone.

I think they would enjoy the atmosphere at Spoodles. The food is good, and you can always ask for a seat near a window, so they can watch all of people walking by. Then play some arcade games, rent a surrey bike, get a hair wrap, etc.
