View Full Version : I have a silly egg white question...

When I made my Christmas cookies with MIL back on December 10th, I saved all of the egg whites (wouldn't you know the recipe only called for yolks :earseek: ) when we made 16 batches. I put them in a rubbermaid container in the fridge, for when I decided to get back on the "eating right wagon".
Well, I'm back on that wagon, and I'm ready for some yummy egg white omelets.
Question - does anyone know if the egg whites are still good, almost a month later? Do eggs go bad?
Just thought I'd ask...
Thanks!

Seems like they are only good for week, sorry!

Yeah - I think it's safest to throw them away. I know it's a huge waste but better than you getting deathly ill.

If you're in the same situation next year, I think (although IANAD) that you can freeze them for much longer than they'll keep in the fridge.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, thanks! That's really good to know! We make those cookies every year!! And every year after New Years I seem to be dieting, so I'll definitely do that next year!
BTW....what does IANAD mean?

I believe it's an acronym for "I am not a doctor". :D
