Do I need to bring one or are there big signs telling you the mile number and time?

Anyone else bringing one? I would have to go get a battery today and it would be another thing to wear or bring along on the race. Trying to determine if it's not worth it to bring. I've always used the treadmill so I haven't used it.

Do I just hit the stopwatch when I cross the finish to see if I'm keeping pace or do you stop it at each mile marker?

Melanie, take a deep breath. You're sounding a bit stressed. :p I'm going to rely on my watch. It's my understanding that they do have a big sign with the time at every mile marker - someone please correct me if I'm wrong. You can check your time at the start and then just keep adding 16 to it. I'll be relying on my watch - trying to hit another mile marker every 15 minutes. I think you'll be just fine.

I'll be wearing mine, because I have run with it all along so that's what I am used to.

The time at the mile markers will be based on the when the run actually started. So you need to look at the big clock as you cross the start. If you cross at 18 minutes, then at each mile marker you have to had 18 minutes to what it says.

I don't want to worry about doing that so I will wear my own watch and start it, as I cross the start line, then all my mile times are actually mine.

Does that make sense?

Thanks guys. I'm just trying to figure out if I want to spend my time running to get a battery at this point. Actually I'm feeling pretty good. I'm mostly packed and just have a few last minute things to get packed.

I just have a few last minute things that are in my head that I want to get ironed out. Since I didn't stay current with my training or the training thread I missed out on a lot of the discussions about these things.

Thanks again,
