This is our first time ever visiting WDW. So I know nothing about the restaurants. I would also like to know does anyone take their kids to CA. Grill? I heard some people say it is a good romantic restaurant for a couple. Just need to know about the kiddos.
Thanks

I've heard that Cape May Cafe is a real nice restaurant. Its a seafood buffet and they do have characters.

Kids are always welcome at any of the WDW Resort Restaurants (V&A does not have a kids menu, so that kind of tells you that it really isn't the atmosphere for kids). The servers will always make them feel comfortable in any of the restaurants, and there are menus or pricing especially for them. Usually we plan one dinner just for DH and me while DD gets to go to the Neverland Club (one of her favorite things to do). The others, DD goes with us. One of her absolute favorites is 'Ohana, followed by Cape May Cafe, Coral Reef and 50's Prime Time Cafe. When DH and I go for our special night we like Yachtsman Steakhouse, Alfredo's, Fulton's or Narcoosee's.
As for seafood, our favorite is Fulton's Crabhouse. They have a wonderful selection of fresh seafood and if you are a seafood purist (we grew up on the Chesapeake Bay) you cannot find anything on property or off that can beat it. The Crab Feast for Two is outstanding! We like it because the seafood is steamed, and doesn't have all of the sauces (like vanilla sauce on lobster, etc), and extras that we think cover the taste of the seafood. Of course, they do have entrees with those accompaniments, too. For us, it is either drawn butter or cocktail sauce and we are in seafood heaven!
Good luck with choosing your dining venues... for us, that is half the fun!:)

NOT Coral Reef in the Sea...its just overpriced and few bad options. We gave it another try last year and have decided we will not go back!!

I have dined several times at Cal Grill and there have been kids there every time. They have always been well behaved and that waitstaff has been very good with them. Food is fantastic in my opinion.
Jiko also gets high marks for seafood-- they do some really interesting things you aren't oft to find on menus other places. The waitstaff there is among the best I have ever encountered.
bluezoo at the Dolphin hotel is new and has a seafood based menu. Supposedly pricey but very good as well (haven't had a chance yet to eat there.)
The best theme park seafood I have had was at the Brown Derby. Quite good as well.
Enjoy!

In November I had the best piece of mahi mahi at Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. Snapper was great too. They both beat Islamorada Fish Company which i didn't think could be done. Oddly enough the DW had the strip steak which was also great.
I remember Narcooses being quite good too, but that was a number of years ago.

We try to eat at Fulton's in DTD every time we go but be prepared it is the most expensive restaraunt I have ever eaten at in WDW. :earseek:

Actually the buffet at Cape May Cafe does have seafood on it, but it is not "a seafood buffet". You will find steamed clams, shrimp and mussels, along with pasta, chicken and a beef or pork dish. They do have a wonderful dessert bar, so save room.
The breakfast is a character meal, but dinner is not.

I like Flying Fish, Artist Point, Jiko, and Blue Zoo for seafood. Blue Zoo has perhaps the best "pure seafood" menu of that group.
And has already been said, kids are welcome at virtually all WDW restaurants.
Another vote for Fulton's at DTD. An incredible meal! (Very expensive though). There were plenty of kids at the CG when we ate there, (not all of them well behaved), alot more families with children then couples. The atmosphere was not romantic at all.

Flying Fish gets my vote. Also had a great Sesame crusted Ahi Tuna at Brown Derby.

For seafood, I like Fulton's.
We took our twins, who were just shy of 3 at the time, to California Grill, and it was fine. They were far from the only kids there.

We love CA Grille - don't have kids so I really can't answer that question. But, you asked about seafood. There are great choices: Narcoosee's, Blue Zoo, Kimonos at the Swan (Sushi), Cape May.
