Holly....I just noticed that your last post was #500!!!
I'm not sure if they still sell the pirates wrist bands at DL. I'll probably be going next weekend (gotta pick up those passes & DD's hat) so I'll check the pirate shop.

Finished my door signs! Here's one that I made for DH's cousin. Ours are the same except for the names on the bottom. I printed them out on 11x17 cardstock & will use magnetic tape to stick them to our door.

Wow. You could start a business with that stuff Rae Ann. Cool Stuff. :cool1:
The BBQ sounds awesome. I really hope they keep it for our cruise. Steak, shrimp, mmmmmm....sorry doc, the cholesterol's going UP on this trip.
Is it me, or now that we're within a month has time just come to a crawl. Every day takes FOREVER to go by, and it seems like we're checking the days off of the calendar very slowly.
On the cruise shopping front, well...not much to report. Thanks to all of you I got the dress socks :rotfl2: , the kids got a couple swim suits, and DW seems to be content that she's got enough stuff to be comfortable. Oh, and I got Goofy tie for semi-formal night. ("Gawrsh!") Only things left are medicines, more suntan lotion, and some 2-way radios.
Come on May, get over with, already!

Wow! Lots of posts to catch up on! :flower: Yesterday was super busy. Turns out DD1 does have an ear infection, so after our dr appt we got to hang out at the pharmacy! Could there be two more germy places? :confused3 Then we spent the afternoon doing last minute stuff for 4th grade Gold Rush Day today. The fourth graders form groups of 4-5 kids and become "49-ers" (in costume) for the day. They have to stake a claim on the soccer field, and file the deed in "town" (softball field) then they have to pitch a tent that they have previously made. The field is seeded with "gold painted" pea gravel which they mine. The kids can go to "town" and buy things at the general store and the saloon. It is a lot of fun!
The BBQ does sound awesome! I wonder what day? Guess will have to wait until after next weeks cruise to find out. That sounds so weird -- The first CA cruise is next week! It seems like it has always been so far away and now it is really here!! Are any of you going to the port on Saturday to see the ship? I tried to talk DH into it, but no go. He thinks I am crazy to "voluntarily" drive anywhere on Memorial Day weekend. :rotfl2:
Rae Ann: great door signs! I need to finish mine up this weekend so I can check that off the list :rotfl:
Holly: Glad your friend got her docs! We stayed home from swim practice on Monday (actually forgot that practice time had changed so we sorta missed it! :rolleyes1 ) so we could try on clothes and see what we still needed! It was fun! We are definitely getting excited also.
Have a great time in Yosemite! Mom said they have had trouble with all the snow melting so quickly and flooding concerns with the river. Be careful! :wizard:
C Ethyl: Yay, I was thinking about the horse book too! :rotfl2: And she really is going to want to bring the darn thing with her!! It is a coffee table book that could BE a coffee table it is so big! :rotfl2: DD is very excited also about "hanging out" with your DD. She checks her email all the time now  I am glad we got them together.
On the cruise shopping front, everyone except DH is in pretty good shape now. :rotfl2: DH needs new shorts (Where are your all your shorts? :confused3 ). Still need to do med's etc. We TRIED to do that this morning, but 30 minutes into our shopping trip to Target, I realized that DD1 was no longer playing with the car keys :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
I retraced our steps for 15 - 20 minutes, checked at Guest Services - nope. Called DH. He works 1/2 hour away. Checked the parking lot to make sure the car was still there. :rotfl: After another 15-20 minutes someone turned them in to the fitting room attendant who brought them to Guest Services  Called DH again so he could turn around and go back to work! Guess who no longer plays with the car keys???
Needless to say, we didn't finish our shopping and now I'm gonna have to go back!

We'll probably be hitting the memorial day sales this weekend to finish shopping for DH & DS. DS wears oxford shoes to school so we're picking up a new pair for the formal/semi-formal nights that he can also wear next school year.
Yep...May is definitely crawling by. DS has 2 more weeks of school and I have 80 more hours of work.

Cool Door Signs!
Mine are very very simple. My MIL will freak if I put any names or pictures on the door signs. I like the ones I made just fine. You said it when you said the days are crawling by...these last few days of May are just crawling on their belly out the door at a snail's pace. June we will all be just NUTS with excitement!

Holly: Enjoy camping! I'd love to be with you. Some day I will get to camp there too! Enjoy a s'more for me! :flower:
Rae Ann: Great door signs! They'll look great! I haven't done any of that fancy stuff but maybe I should try??
DB: We're glad you got your socks...be sure to pack them in your luggage! :goodvibes Still need to get socks for DS's big feet (visualize a growing puppy - huge feet!)
Anna: "Mizz M" is so excited and happy. I had to look up the Matterhorn ride and print it for her. I think they'll match well. Although M's not currently involved in any athletic sports per se, she's a very active kid and does enjoy lots of sports; especially if they involve running! Good luck with that book - I was afraid to ask how big it is! Order cabin-service and use it as the "table" (just kidding) :goodvibes We're one deck below you guys. We were in family veranda cabin last time we cruised, but couldn't get them this time, so we "settled" for the deluxe veranda this time.
I agree with everyone! May is draggin'! :guilty: Most people aren't here at work and things are too slow for my comfort! I need to be busier! Arggghhh!
Fortunately once we (finally) hit June, I am sure that things will speed up!
Tues (5/31) is dress rehersal for dance, then the usually scheduled after-school activities for that week and then MIL visits to see Mizz M in her dance recital and boom (that's the weekend before we leave for beau-ti-ful California! :sunny: ) Schools out for our kids June 7th! The 8th is haircut day for me and follow-up check up for both kids. The 9th and 10th at work will probably be crazy because it usually happens that way just before a vacation! (meanwhile I am going nuts now...) :rolleyes1
Let there be sun! Let there be sun! :sunny:
Please have a safe weekend everyone! I want to see you happy on the boat!

Good Morning everyone! When I was at Disneyland a couple of weeks ago and they had the Pirate wristbands. DM booked us on the Canopy Tour for 11:00 so we are looking forward to meeting with our fellow DISers! :cool1: Made a Target run yesterday for meds and toiletries, $170 later (okay so I also bought a pair of white denim capris and a really cute straw bag!) I came home! :faint: Well DM is bugging me to get busy on our door sign so I have to go to another store!
Have a great weekend everyone! :earsgirl:

Yay...more DISers on the 11 am canopy tour. I'm sure we'll all have a blast!
LOL - I know what you mean about Target. I always end up spending lots of $$ there and I'm sooo excited 'cause they're building a brand new Target even closer to home.
I called DCL about my documents. They sent it out on May 25th and I'll be receiving them next Tuesday. Oh well... at least I won't have to stalk the UPS guy anymore. Last I heard he was taking out a restraining order on me.

I got DH's cruise shopping done! In addition to a 3 pack of dress socks, we also got him 2 new shirts & ties...one is a DIS-ish green. He's usually very conservative so it took some convincing before he finally agreed to get it. He's planning to wear it on Palo night (which is currently scheduled for Friday night for us). Please refrain from commenting on his DIS green shirt 'cause he doesn't know the bright green shirt and tie were bought to show his "DIS spirit". LOL. :teeth:
I tried to get him to buy a bright orange and yellow shirt to wear on the Canopy Adventure so he will be "easily identifiable in pictures and video" but he refused because he said it would be easier to shoot him with a tranquilizer dart when he's zipping from tree to tree in PV. :rotfl: He's so goofy!
I hope everyone's having a nice weekend. We went to see Star Wars this morning while my aunt watched DD. We're off to dinner at a friends house soon.
Are you sure no one wants a DIS meet? I have something small for the DIS kids. :flower:

Well, I'm pretty sure none of you are serial killers or anything - I'd be happy to put faces to names...for me it'd make the trip more fun, since it'll feel more like cruising with a bunch of people I "know" instead of just my in-laws. :rotfl2:
Sorry for my ignorance on this, but...
1) What is DIS Green?
2) What normally happens at a "cruise meet"?
For those of you looking for a dress shirt for the boys 4-8, Kohl's was having a sale on the dress shirt / clip-on tie set. We weren't planning on dressing up my oldest, but he actually picked it out for himself.

Rae Annm thanks so much for all the info/pic's/etc you have posted! It has been great! :worship:
DH is definitely in your DH's camp regarding DIS color and thinks he has a good point about the canopy tour too! :rotfl2: DH is patient with my DIS "habit", but definitely considers it an addiction :rotfl2: :rolleyes1
I am game with a cruise meet. We are not travelling with an extended group (just us) so it will be fun to "meet" everyone and know other people on the ship.
Reading the live reports has been great. It is wonderful to finally get some solid information to plan with! I must say I am not surprised about it being cold on the ship -- It is sailing "in" the June Gloom. Hopefully, it will be warmer by tomorrow. :sunny:
For those of you not from Southern Ca, June Gloom is the marine layer along the coast in May and June. It is overcast, foggy, and occasionally even drizzly in the morning. As the day heats up, the marine layer burns off or recedes back over the ocean so it is generally sunny and nice in the late morning and afternoon. The marine layer rolls back in for the evening and night. It has something to do with the desert heating up and "sucking" the moisture inland from the ocean, I think? Dave or Rae Ann, maybe you can help out if this explaination is confusing?
CruisingCA2005
05-30-2005, 01:06 PM
Explanation for June Gloom? :confused3 A light sweater/jacket will usually suffice but it's a lot cooler when you're on the water. We're planning on bringing sweatshirts & jeans for the 1st day at sea and the last day at sea.
I read a post about the Repo cruisers taking a while to get through customs because customs didn't clear the boat until 8 am. Keep in mind that the Magic didn't get to the pier until approximately 7 am because they left Cabo 3 hours later than planned. Hopefully debarkation will go smoother if the ship leaves Cabo on time.
DB - DIS green is a bright lime green color that DISers often wear. Some DISers get Mickey paint chips at Home Depot in a green...sorry can't remember the name of the green. Alien Green? I don't know what they do with the paint chips but I've seen it mentioned in several threads.
I found a post about Mickey Heads:
Here's a pin someone on my last cruise made so DIS people could find each other. She used the Home Depot paint chips and heavy duty laminate with a craft pin glued to the back.
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid165/p8ee56de2cc7a08c61610edad6518717d/f466a7c9.jpg
A DIS meet is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to the other DISers who have been posting. It sounds like 3pm is a popular meeting time but I'm not sure where we should meet. Deck 10 mid-ship sounds great but so does Scoops or the Promenade Lounge. Any ideas?
I can't guarantee that everyone in my party will be at the meet but I'll definitely be there. Please PM or email me if you're going to be there with the # of kids in your group (whether they'll be at the meet or not). I'll get a list going & will pass on the info.
3 pm has worked very well for us on our last two cruises. We meet up on deck 10 mid-ship on the same side as the port. This is above the Goofy pool. At 3pm it isn't too crowded yet so you can all meet and hear each other. You get to meet for a good 30-45 minutes before you need to head for the drill. Then after the drill meet up at the same spot and you are in a great spot for the sailaway party (though some may opt to go down on the dance floor).

3 pm seems like a good time. Where? Scoops or Deck 10 seem like good choices. My kids are going to want to try the slide at the Mickey Pool, so if we get lucky on the weather, that is where they will be.
No June Gloom today. :sunny: It actually has been very light for us this year, so maybe it will be nice on the 18th. :wizard: I had already planned on long pants for Sunday and Friday, though, just in case.
Happy Memorial Day everyone! :flower1:

My kids will probably be in the Mickey Pool area too so maybe Scoops/starboard side of the Mickey's pool is a good idea.

Holly and Rae Ann, and Anne: Did you see that Randi has a pinata for the kids of the Disney cruises? No "sandy candy" inside but there is confetti and the fun of doing the pinata!

As Frank said the Magic pulled in on Wed. She really is Magic. A beautiful ship, well from the outside. That's all we get to see.
We were at the terminal a bit later than Frank, his folks were off fast, as were ours, there were just more of them.
We had a gaggle of children and all of them had a great time both on the horses and at Victors. My children's guides were at the top of their game, which they always are. biggrin.gif
There were jelly fish, darn the luck, sad.gif so I pulled all the kids out of the water. They had lunch and then the Disney treat. We had the first Disney piņata party. Well the first Randi's Happy Horses piņata party. biggrin.gif We knew that we were going to have lots and lots of kids so between all of us, Victor and Alma included, we strung up the piņata. The kids had a ball. We didn't have the candy inside, didn't want the sand in the candy thing, just confetti but they had a great time. The young man that broke the last piņata got to take the "piņata stick" with him. He was one proud young man. It kinda looks like a bull fighting stick. Decorated and all that.
The Disney Magic was a big hit, lol, with us and are looking forward to a great season with them.
Come joing the fun, piņatas only for Disney unless you have lots of kids in your group. If this be the case, just let me know in advance and I can arrange it.
Happy Cruising on whatever line you choose. cool.gif

Thank you for posting the link about Randi's - what fun!
VBug: good luck with the rest of your week and the dance recital. My girls only danced one year. Then after spending two afternoons a week at the studio for 10 months, I missed the recital! DD#3 decided to arrive a week early! It's worth it though!

Hi Gang!
I am so behind on reading the posts on this board! End of the freshman school year for 2 in college here, one in high school and 2 in elementary. I know you know how it can be! Today is my DS's(10) recorder concert and my DD 's (6)Madeline Play. Book Fair tonight too! Kids are getting out of school on different schedules every day, with park trips and parties. I have a couple of graduations to attend next week too.
For the record...I am not done shopping(my DS still needs dress socks, I told him that and he said "What for? I am not wearing a dress!-10 yr. old humor you understand), and haven't begun packing yet. Our camping trip was wonderful, but as usual I am slow in recovering laundry wise. We are getting really excited around here, and I was soooo glad to read they have fireworks with Pirate Night! pirate: My mother in law was so happy to hear that too.

Holly: I saw your post about the jellyfish in Mexico. They are affected by the cycles of the moon (because of the tides) and they're expecting a full moon on June 22nd. Two things that are good for jellyfish stings: a credit card and meat tenderizer. You can scrape off the stinging cells with a credit card (you can't see the cells). Then a paste of meat tenderizer breaks up the protein in the stinging cells.
Hollyster2
06-02-2005, 10:24 AM
So I am thinking we should cancel the jellyfish, uhh I mean snorkeling excursion in cabo? I ordered some Sea Safe, but it sounds like there are just too many jelly fish. What is everyone else doing in Cabo?

Yes, it's a busy time of year.
Update on the missing costume! Yea! It was found and is waiting for us to pick it up on Saturday. (whew!)
Still not more packed. Haven't done any of that in a while. Getting vistors this weekend (MIL & SIL who will be sailing with us; come to see DD's dancin') so trying to get the house in some semblence of reasonableness!
End of fiscal year reports due 6/15 so I'm busy trying to finish that up before I leave next week.
Glad to see everyone is excited and busy with life. Count 4 of us for the informal "meet" up there by Scoops. I need to find out this weekend re the other two in our total party but you'll at least meet the four from Pit. I'll PM Rae Ann the info regarding the others on Monday to make a final headcount. Quick :wave2: to everyone.
Sounds like jellyfish will be a factor for us since we will have a full moon the day we are in Mazatlan. I read somewhere (can't remember where now!) that baking soda works for stings?
Rae Ann, do you know if this works or should I buy meat tenderizer? DD9 has gotten stung twice now and she really swells up, so I want to be prepared.
Where did you find Randi's post about the pinata? My kids had planned on spending the afternoon in the water at Randi's, but I am glad Randi has a "Plan B"
Holly, we had the recorder concert last week. Aren't you glad recorder "practice" is over? :rotfl2:

When we'd go camping at the beach in Hawaii, someone usually brings a bottle of meat tenderizer in case of stings. Vinegar also works but it's usually easier to bring a small bottle of meat tenderizer. Once my cousin got stung really badly by a portuguese man-o-war (blue bottle jellyfish). While he was swimming he picked up the jellyfish because he wanted to see what it "looks like" and the jellyfish slid all over his body.

Thank you Rae Ann! Just took a box of baking soda out of the pantry and put it in the suitcase. I already have cortaid. My husband is going to think I have gone off the deep end, if I bring a bottle of vinegar to the beach! :rotfl2: but it does sound like it is the recommended solution.

Best wishes on a good Dr.'s Appt., CACruisin'.....I broke my leg a few years ago and definitely relate to wanting to get "the boot" off. You would make a good peg-leg for Pirate Night, though. pirate: Hey, just trying to find a bright side...but hoping that you're dancing the cruise away sans boot.
Regarding room tours, I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in coming down to "steerage", but I'll volunteer a showing of my Cat 9 room.... :teeth:
Is anyone else with younger kids bringing along special toys for them to play with on the ship? I'm also considering bringing a laptop and some DVDs for movie time in the room - I haven't found a lot of information about the in-room programming.

My little recorder star just got home and informed me he wants electric guitar lessons.
I am going to follow Rae Ann's advice and use my key to the world card and a bottle of meat tenderizer to doctor any stings. My family is unanimous about sticking with the snorkel excursion and taking our chances. Of course we won't go in the water if we are advised not to. At least I won't. :rotfl:
So many families in our group and we have not figured out the time frames for arrival at the Port, so I can't commit to the scoops meet yet. I do hope I run into you all! I have to go back and try to memorize the names and see if I can figure it all out. We are picking up people at hotels on the way to the Port from Disneyland so I am at the mercy of others. Did Disney mark the port in anyway?

It's at the cruisemexico.org site.... Randi sent the link in an email.
I have officially started packing!! I printed out our packing lists, got our big suitcase out & started putting some of our cruise purchases in there.
V-Bug (or anyone else who has to travel far to get to the port): I found the little trial size Tide liquid (good for 4 loads) at Target, if you're planning on doing laundry onboard, let me know & I'll bring one onboard for you.

Lanyards and keyholders are still on the "To Do" list. Any suggestions of where to look?
We will have DVD's, crayons and books for baby girl. And of course we don't go anywhere without her pink "silkie" and bear. Even assuming that she loves Flounders (hopefully!!!) she will still be spending the majority of her time with us. I also have mad libs and playing cards for the older two.
Just read the cruisemexico site -- Thank you! I remember reading this site when we first booked the cruise, but I had forgotten about it. We are really looking forward to our day with Randi and everyone else!

I have a bunch of lanyards (plain black) and some cardholders from work. The cardholders are pretty nice. They're a rigid plastic with a thumb notch in the back that allows you to take out your card easily.

Also, for those of you who have cruised before, do you find 2-way radios useful? I'm thinking they would come in handy, but would prefer not to drag them along if they're not really necesary.
Thanks for letting me leverage the collective experience of the group. :moped: I'm still trying to write the list of the things to pack - never mind actually packing!

The lanyard/cardholder is a convenient way to hold your Key to the World card. The cardholders that I mentioned let the card slide out easily to pay for drinks or souvenirs in the gift shop or open your stateroom door but the cards won't fall out on their own.
Disneyland does have a bunch of lanyards/cardholders for sale. The cardholders there are the little plastic ziploc pouch things.
We brought two-way radios on our last cruise because we were at WDW for a week before the cruise. I don't think we used them often.
DS should be losing a tooth soon if he'd ever shake it. He has a problem shaking his baby teeth. His permanent tooth is fully out but he won't shake his loose tooth. He's lost 4 on the bottom and 3 on the top so far. 4 baby teeth had to be pulled by the dentist (he looked like a shark with 2 rows of teeth on the bottom), I pulled 1 baby tooth (and he's never forgotten that), and the 2 front teeth he waited until they literally fell out of his mouth. I've got some Disney Dollars ready in case he loses his tooth on the cruise.
I think I read somewhere that guest services will give you "pixie dust" (glitter) for the tooth fairy.

Capt' Ann...how did your doctor's appointment go? Ready to try on your dancing shoes?

I am out of my fracture boot - sort of! I don't have to wear it now all the time, just if I am going to be walking a lot. Otherwise, I need to wear a running type shoe to support and protect my foot for the next 2-3 weeks. Most of my pretty sandals don't qualify :sad2: However, I'm bringing them anyway and I will just see how it feels! So yes, I am out of my boot  but it does get to come on the cruise with me. :rotfl:
Most of what we are doing on the cruise doesn't really involve a lot of walking, luckily. I had wanted to wander around PV after the canopy tour, but that is not necessary -- I'll just have more time to explore and relax on the ship. :Pinkbounc

DD11's swim meet is going well. In her past meets she has worked herself into a real mess with nerves, but so far this time everything has gone well. She is beating her times and not disqualified in any strokes. She just moved into a new age bracket (11-12). Wow - there is a big spread in sizes and speed from the newly 11's to the nearly 13's! Tomorrow's events are her stronger strokes so hopefully the day will go well. :cheer2:

FYI - Deb Wills has the May 28th navigators posted at allearsnet.com in pdf format (much easier to read than the ones on Barb's site).
It looks like I may be going to the port EARLY on Saturday so that I can check us in with our passports & get a low boarding #. DH is going to drop me off then will return later with everyone else. In one of the posts, a 5/28 cruiser said that some people who got to the port later had to wait up to 3 hours to board. Sounds like embarkation & debarkation at the San Pedro terminal is a mess. They do say that passports are a big plus (all people in your party must have a passport to go in the passport line).

He seemed excited about Scoops but when I asked him if he wanted to post anything to this thread he said...."isn't that just for the ladies?" :earseek: I told him that there are many guys who post on the Disboards and only DB has been brave enough to post on the June 18th thread.

LOL -- Most of the time DH is tolerant of my DIS addiction because he likes that everything goes smoothly (Information is power!). However, last night when I was trying to catch up on all the posts from the weekend, DH had that "you've gone overboard" look again!! But there was so much good stuff from the returning cruisers, I had to read it all!!! :rotfl2:
No way is he going to post though! He also didn't want our names on our door sign. You'll just have to meet him in person on the ship! He really is a nice guy!
I really hope that DCL does something for Father's Day. DH deserves a nice day!! I scheduled our couples massage for Sunday Afternoon as a treat (OK, so I want a nice day too!)
Glad the weekend is over. Swim meet went well, but long. The PTA Newsletter goes to the printer tomorrow morning ... hopefully, no more changes between now and then .... :badpc:

DB: Double that! Geesh! Away from the computer (alas that's a whole story in itself! Aieeee! :earseek: ) for 2.5 days and a whole lotta catchin' up to do!
Now don't be asking me to help anyone "iron anything out" because I certainly will put deep creases in whatever my iron touches! I am the self-proclaimed "WIW" (Worst Ironer in the World) and will happily prove it if asked. I plan to stay away from the ironing board (what IS that thing?) completely. Don't tell me I look wrinkled, because my clothes may match my laugh lines! :goodvibes
Arrrr! I be in me 44th year, so I should be entitled to them thar wrinkles! In de clothes and mug! Arrrrrr! pirate:
:) Everyone askin' about the recital! Hey! Thank you, thank you! I am pleased to report that "tiny dancer" did just fine and enjoyed it tremendously. This year we did not forget something! (ballet shoes, tap, shoes, stockings, fluffy feather things, lipstick, ...etc) THAT is a first! :rotfl:
No wonder I dread packing! :rotfl: :goodvibes
DMIL and DSIL were visiting and they're convinced to wear pirate costumes, so if ye be sitting in our dinin' rotation (late; requested PLA) then ye be warned! pirate:
We're taking the Disney-bus transfers, so we'll be tryin' to make it to the 3 PM meet, but maties per the news I can't be saying if we be there on times 'ya know. Arrrrr! I be usin' me flint-iron on dem bilge rats -them's not ironin' what needs ironin'! That be the only ironin' for me! Arrrrrr! (translation: We'll try our best to make the meet, but we're depending on the Disney bus to get us there and with the current waiting times to get on board...it's out of our hands unless DCL gets something "ironed out" to make the boarding times faster and smoother!)
Hearty YO HO! pirate: to all the new folks signin' up on this board! It's been fun planning and learning! Nice crew of mates! pirate:
Our family has those waterproof (otter boxes type) holders, which we use for the KTW and DL and $$ and whatever else. I like that they "lock" shut and I can swim with them and not worry. They're in bright colors, so everyone in the family has their own color. Started out with the DCL lanyard, but ended up with the boxes (credit card sized) and have used them ever since for all trips to WDW. Will be using them at DL!
Yes, busy, busy! Today was the monthly meeting and ugh, it went from 11 to 2 PM! Now I got to finish that report and we have to work on the meeting minutes. Lots to do, so I gotta get crackin'!
Wanted just to say "hi" to all and welcome to everyone new! I am soooo excited! Will stop by tomorrow as time permits!

loved the reference to Jack N in the shining - my friends look at me a little crazy when I tell them I am learning SOOO much from a great group I have never met!!! Thanks to those kids (girls) who have responded to my daughters post - she is traveling this trip solo (no friend this time) and is excited that so many "pre-teen" girls are going!!! There is a great restaurant at the San Pedro pier called "ports of call" and it would be a perfect place for the main group to hang out and get in the vacation mode while one designated family member waits in line!!!

Capt Anne: We got them at the Merchandise shops on the Wonder in 2002. Well, actually we got at least one at Castaway Cay (she sells), because they had some different colors there. No doubt they're more "pricey" than the lanyards, but for the number of times we've used them, and the "souvineer" value, that's been great. Actually I would like the larger size, so that way I could keep a lip balm/lip stick in there. :goodvibes
It's the last day of school for my kiddies! Tomorrow I'm off.
We got no working telephone line in our house at the moment, so can't connect (yup still stuck with dial-up at home) to the internet from there.
Here's a funny...yesterday 3 PM...blip! No electricity! Well, this has happened several times in the past few weeks, but usually it is restored very quickly. Not so yesterday...I left at 3:30 PM because most of our work is computer-based (database, email, word documents, etc...) so we were unable to get anything done! Crazy place to work!

Happy Wednesday everyone!
I haven't seen anything new recently. We've been trying to figure out what time to arrive at the port but it seems like no matter what time you arrive, you'll have a 3 hour wait. :confused3
Do you think we should reschedule the Scoops meet?
We started packing DS's clothes yesterday but it took a while because he had to try on every single pair of pants & shorts to see which ones still fit! :teeth: At least he's growing! (I have a little guy...he's almost 9 & weighs 55 on a good day).

I can't believe Disney can't figure out a way to get people on the ship a bit faster than a 3-hour wait!! What the heck do you do with kids for 3 hours in a terminal? Ack. My oldest will probably be melting down wondering why we're not getting on the ship. For those of you sharing terminal space with us, I apologize in advance. :sad2:
I think my family might shoot for arriving around 11:30 or 12, with the hope that at least all of the passengers from the previous cruise will be off by then.
As for the meet - I don't think we should move it. With the safety drill and departure party quickly transitioning into the early seating dinner, there's not a lot of other times available on Saturday. Maybe we should plan a second (or alternative) meeting on Sunday morning? I know some of you have spa appointments, family plans, etc., but hopefully something around 10AM won't be too early for the late-risers, but not so late as to disrupt the day's activities at sea. :confused3

Good Morning, All
My kids and DH are very curious about this whole DIS thing. It makes for fun dinner conversation. I think it would be great for the girls to met other children prior to getting into the lab. We look forward to 3 PM at Scoops. Whereever that is. :rotfl: We will find it!! It looks like waiting in the terminal for most of Saturday may give the girls the opportunity to meet kids, too! :goodvibes
We are getting very close now!! Yippee. I hope I'm ready. Seems as tho I've been planning this trip forever!!
We will be arriving in San Pedro about 10 AM. Look for us. The family of four, two kids, can't be many of those!!

Coastal - there appears to be quite a few DD's on this cruise who are within range of your DD's! They'll have a grand time, I'm sure! :goodvibes
Crusin'CA: Got your PM from your DD- printed the message to deliver to "Mizz M" - she's been sad not to be able to contact your DD, but is really looking forward to meeting her on the Magic! Is that foot doing better? Sorry to hear about the pegleg coming aboard...will you wear it for pirate nite? Harrr! pirate:
As with some other posters (DB...) regarding the meet ---
-- we're arriving via the Disney "bus", so we'll probably get to the port relatively "late" (Pick up at PPH ~ 12:10 PM; and I have no clue as to the time to travel to port--hopefully no car jacking/stopping traffic things! :earseek: ) I imagine 3:00 should still be "okay".
We have yet to see how the June 11th boarding is handled... maybe better each time? It could happen!
Tomorrow is my last day at work - thus last day to post here. (Will you guys be glad or what! :rotfl: )
Packing is on-going. Still need to get "suspenders" for DH. Doin' that tonight. Drama Queen Mizz M has decided that she also needs a pair of sandels (other than what she has) and so we may be shopping for that too! I keep taking "stuff" out of her suitcase and she keeps putting more stuff in! Gotta love her -she's the baby!

If I don't see you at Scoops, I'll be delivering something to your "fish" (the little mail holders). I'm bringing a clipboard to stick on my door so the DISers can post messages on meets, etc.
I just read that the Carnival Pride will be in Mazatlan on Wednesdays now because they'll doing a day at sea, cabo, mazatlan, pv, day at sea, day at sea (the reverse of the Magic). I bet the Pride passengers will have slim pickings on the excursions they can take in Mazatlan.
MORE SIGNS??? LOL, I'm already going to be the "crazy lady down the hall with all those door signs". I guess one more sign won't hurt. Maybe I can be the "crazy lady with the sign around her neck." LOL :teeth:

THEN, we finally get to the port - but I'm sure someone will want lunch, have to pick up one more thing from Target, etc., etc.

Anyone else freaked out about the onboard strain of stomach flu? I read itis not just a ship flu, but one going around CA. We haven't had it here, (knock on my wooden head) but I am intimidated. Well, I just happen to have a somewhat lime green shirt that I could wear. My DH would not be caught dead wearing something so that others could find him. He has not been on this board and has not a clue as to how addicting it is!! :)
DB-you're killing me with the kids in the car skidding around the corner. Got my laughs in early today. Funny!
I am also thinking (have I completely lost it?) that maybe some Home Depot Disney paint chips (green of course) cut out and a pin glued to the back would make a decent name tag. I read about that somewhere here. Maybe someone is already doing this, and that is why this idea sounds so great? Sorry, it has been a long week and time keeps speeding up. Anyhow, maybe I will make some for my girls. Question is would they wear them? Me in lime green, girls with Mickey heads on their shirts and husband trying to avoid us at all costs :earsgirl: . Hi Everyone! This is my last day posting before the cruise. We're off beginning Saturday for our 'grand- adventure'!
At the terminal you can recognize the four of us wearing our "patriotic Mickey" T-shirts. They're white with the mouse and a flag on the front. We're all in the blonde-shades of hair color (only mine is enhanced to camoflage the greys). Mizz M has the blondest hair and long; probably in a ponytail. DH is 6'1" and DS is 5'10". I wear glasses (so does hubbie) and am in the "vertically challenged" catagory (I like to say that I am 5'3", but that's a half-inch exaggeration). Come say "hi" if you want to meet the "bug" (ha...I AM a LITTLE slap happy today, I daresay! Sorry! )

Have the best time in disneyland you guys! I will be down there on Wednesday, but we are going to sit by the pool and then take in Medieval Times. I will be in the parks on Thursday and Friday! YAHOO!
I had a horrible dream last night that we got down there and they cancelled the cruise-actually all cruises until next February because of the flu thing. I was so relieved to wake up from that one! Ashleigh and I decided we will be grateful for everyday we have that we escape the bug.
I haven't begun packing yet.....Today is the day!

I read through my docs today (with all the great info you all have been providing I hadn't read all the inf they sent!!). They are saying the port opens at 10 am - it sounds like getting there right at 10 might be the best bet. I have been lurking other sites and have heard that the wait is less than 45 minutes if you arrive right when they open. DD is so excited she would like to be there at 9:30!!!
See you all on board in less than a week. I will be the one carrying the lime green purse - you can't miss it!

I was the only one in our family to feel the quake. It was just a slight rolling motion here. Here's a cool site that shows the recent earthquakes in S. California. http://quake.usgs.gov/recenteqs/latest.htm

Everyone felt it here. I was on the computer :teeth: everyone else was still lounging in bed.
That website is always the first place I look.
I am so excited there is a live thread for the current cruise. I didn't think we would be getting info from that one.
We will be at the port around 11. We will be the family of 5 in the blue maui mickey wear. (How I got DH to agree to that, I will never know!)

Looks like my DW has woke up and realized that we are cruising this Saturday. She is now in drill sargeant mode and 100 push-ups to all who fail to follow orders, lol. She has been very busy with her job for the last month and had the cruise pushed aside. I was the one doing all of the research and reservations. Boy, that has changed now! We will be flying in on Friday with DBIL, DSIL, DNW(18) DNW(15) and DS(24). This is the big celebration for DW 50th this year and we are also celebrating DNW high school graduation.
I have been lurking around for months reading everyones great comments and DW just ordered me to do a posting (I am not very good at doing pushups, lol).
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the cruise.

Hi All,
Anyone else concerned about the stomach virus going around the ship? Up here in Shell Beach we have no flu's going around. I really hope it gets cleared up. I have not seen anything from the June 4-11 cruise regarding this.

My DB's family in Monterey had an awful flu a couple of months ago and we have friends in Riverside area and WA state who have also been hit in the last couple of months, so there is definitely a really nasty bug still around. We have not seen it locally though (Knock on wood!).
DD's pack and play and all of her own bedding just went back on the "Pack" list. I am sure Disney sanitizes their PNP's but I don't want to take any chances.
For pirate night we will be in tropical wear with pirate accessories (assuming the Oriental Trading Co order shows up in time!) pirate:
DH is packed (he'll be gone the rest of the week, so he had to be packed before he left.) I have a bunch of stuff laid out for me. Now I just need to make final decisions.
DD's on the other hand keep wearing the stuff I want to take on the cruise! I need to get them packed today while they are at school and close their suitcases so they can't get into them.
youngest DD is easy. She doesn't pick out her own clothes yet, and as the third girl she has more clothes than the rest of us put together! :rotfl:
What's harder for her is getting her toys and books packed up. That will likely be a Friday thing.
Well off to Target again ... I forgot to buy diapers! How could I forget diapers?

Got to the park nice and early (for us) yesterday - park was pretty crowded but not absurdly so. We did manage to work around Adventureland and Fantasyland, where most of the crowds tend to be.
Buzz is an awesome ride, even if it does bore Rae Ann to tears (Nice picture, by the way, Rae Ann). Unfortunately, the Star Tours fast-pass was down, but it was still only a 30-minute wait. DS loves that ride. I like it until the exit drops you off in the gift shop and DS starts begging for yet another Star Wars toy.
Rolled around Toon-town for awhile - typically crowded, but the boys got to play with some of the interactive stuff near City Hall and the Fireworks factory.
Had lunch at Taste Pilot's grill in CA. Still one of the better places for a burger or chicken sandwich. Got Fast passes for Soarin' Over CA, but they were having problems with the ride which would come back to bite us later.
After lunch was Bug's Land - hardly any lines. Got the kids on the Ladybug ride (like the Teacups, but you can't spin them yourself), Flik's Balloon ride, and Heimlich's. Next, we went to go to California Screamin', but it was SHUT DOWN. :earseek: DW was very bummed....but we got the kids on Tritan's carousel, which everyone liked.
Kids said they were hungry again and they wanted Happy Meals (Ugh!), but you know what - if your kids eat the food, the Happy Meals are a deal. $5 for the typical McD's meal, plus the toy they give you would easily cost $5 in any of the shops, if not more. There are other restaurants near the McD's in CA, so that might be a good way to do lunch.
Took DS on Mulhullond Madness - a great little coaster for kids 4+. Then it was off to Soarin.....it was working again, but so many people had gotten Re-Entry passes from it being down that even the fastpass line was 45 minutes. It was worth it. It was DS's first time, and he was grinning from ear to ear, after a brief moment of "I don't want to go" after I strapped him in. We had some first-timers next to me on the other side, and the mom was kind of freaking out when she saw the preview of being lifted off the ground - she thought it was going to be like Star Tours. She ended up really liking it though. For those of you who haven't been, this really is a must-do ride - be sure to use all of your senses! (Don't want to give too much away) You might want to avoid it if you have fear of heights or vertigo, though.
After that, it was over to the Brother Bear Adenture area. Both kids tore around on the netting, swinging bridges, slides, etc. It gave me and DW a little workout, too! Finally, we caught the Block Party Bash. If your kids like the Pixar characters like mine, it's a good one.
After all that, both kids pretty much passed out. :cool1:
OK, sometime this week I have to find the suitcases......

Yes everyone we knew on board was sick at some point during the week of June 4th. There is one person writing that she saw noone sick but maybe that is because they were in their rooms puking. 4 out of 6 of us were ill. Many of the staff were ill, they suspended the galley tour due to increased incidence of GI disorders, we were late boarding due to extra bleach wiping down of everything------HOWEVER it is only as good as the weakest link. We were talking on the way back to the airport about the buses and vans. the hotels, the carpets, ....its endless......Good news is it only lasted a few hours. I truly don't think DCL wants to keep stats on it because many of the people that were sick tried to contact medical and noone ever replied. My mom missed one of our excursions and she was told if she went to medical they would refund her money but they weren't open and when they finally were, she was well. As for myself, I was fine, but 2 of my kids experienced it and I never reported it due to her experience. I just think they do not want it getting out that DCL has been having this occur. Hurts business.

I just wanted to start by saying how much I enjoyed reading all your posts before you left for your cruise. :goodvibes I have appreciated your letting us know how cold it was the first couple days and the last day so we could bring a couple of warmer outfits. But, Judy, now that we know all these things can you go back to your POSITIVE comments and your enthusiasm that you had before you went. I want to hear all the great things that were on the ship. Sorry I did not meanto make you sad about the only 2 cons. Like I said it was great and they pack the roster full of activities on the colder sea days so that you honestly do not care if its cold. I just wanted you to be prepared because we only were prepared thanks to someone from the previous week who told us to pack warm clothes THUS I handled it much better than I would had if I had not had a sweatshirt. It was fine. We never sat around gloomily believe me.
The 2nd thing I mentioned I only posted here because someone stated that they had not heard of anyone on the June 4th trip who had been ill. I was just letting you know that was not true. You really can't control those things so why worry about them. Would it keep me off the Magic????NO WAY. I have been on multiple times and this was the first time but also I must say the seas were very rough and it could have just been sea sickness. Who knows.
You are going to have a ball. Cabo looks like the name Mexican Riviera. We can't wait to go back there. Great food and margaritas as big as fish bowls. Water was refreshing, clean, and everything was accessible.
I am sorry if you took comments to be negative I guess people on some of these boards do not want to hear reality.I shouldn't have told you and then you could have had a miserable time cold and sick. I am so sick of posters living in this sugarcoated world where everything has to be perfect. Its not. I was only trying to make you better prepared as the group before us did for us. Excuse me.

I will tell you there was nothing I disliked. (except maybe my son's decision to stay in kids club every night til MN which is 3am Orlando time AUGH!!!!!!
Saturday- I loved the sailaway like always. This is probably my favorite thing all week. Right after that was dinner and bingo. Even if you have never played bingo its fun and they give away tons of $$. Jackpot at end of week was $5000++. Welcome aboard show was great. Lots of characters.
Sunday even though it is "June gloom" as you CA all it (hey where were you when I was booking my dates----I think July/Aug was full anyway. There was something scheduled every half hour. The things we did were trivia, bingo, art auction, course ate about 5 meals in there. and then they have afternoon Golden Mickeys which is great because my daughter loves to see it twice. They had great movies showing in the theatre that we had seen but did not mind seeing again. They also had a huge after party but no balloondrop like on the previous week. We thought they were going to because the balloons in the nets in the lobby were golden but I guess that was due to the golden anniversary.
Monday- This was our character breakfast day. There were characters everywhere. It was a big picture autograph day. Trivia again, bingo, behind the scenes, races, games, Pacifier movie in WDT. Castaway Club reception was this night, we also had ressies for Palos but unfortunately this was the day my daughter got sick at breakfast so we rescheduled for Fri. One thing we had so much fun doing wsa the Family Magic Quest. Don't know if anyone has done this before but you come in and are given a team number. Renee, or Ang will call out an item you need to ahow her to get points. (a MM watch, a DL, a room card, a piece of fruit, a candy wrapper, a belt, ....)Be prepared. We went with a bag of goodies cause you do not know what they will call. Don't be nice like we were and loan everything to your neighboring team. I felt generous to the little girl next to us and they ended up winning. Anyway its so fun. The show was bad this night but we did not care we were tired.
Tuesday-PV is gorgeous. If you can still do Las Caletas do it. It was awesome. Nice acreage with delicious lunch. My kids loved it. We ate in PV instead of the ship this night. I get a little sick of rich food and needed a nacho, queso type dinner. Most satisfying for my craving. We went to Carlos Obriens/Senor Frogs and I had the margarita in a yard glass. WHEW.
Wed- Mazatlan is OK. I think everyones least favorite port. You dock at the shrimp dock and ride a tram to main building. Port is UGLY! We did the taxe to EL Cid hotel. That was awesome and if I ever went back would do the same. I am not one that enjoys the vendors on the beach and found it annoying. I just want to relax. We went down to ocean for awhile but really loved the pool there. Ate a mexican lunch and erturned to ship. All aboard was at 4:30 which was earlier than our docs had said (8:30) but we did not care we had enough. Twice Charmed was great. Also be sure and enjoy the pools on T/W/TH because it will be the best time. PLUS its hot there. How can it be so cold and then so hot?
Thurs- our most fun day of all. We got off and started haggling for water taxis at pier which was quite intimidating because I was not sure they would come back and pick us up later but all their prices were round trip. We finally saw some fellow DCL people going with a vendor and we went with them. He took us in a glassbottom boat over reefs, around pelican rock, seal rock, and around Los Arcos. He then dropped us off at Lovers Beach ( which is inaccesible except by boat) for 1 1/2 hours, came back and picked us up and droped my family off at "The Office" beach and party place and the rest of them at the tender dock. We paid $45 for 6 including kids. The other family paid $125. I thought we got a good deal til I was at kids club and one of the counselors told me it was $5pp. I really did not care though because we had such a geat time. Where they dropped us off at this "Office" beach, it was a gorgeous beach with gentle waves perfect for kids, several restaurants right on the beach. We ate at Mango____ Best food the whole trip. Great salsa, Guac, tacos, nachos....We ordered marg.,when they came they brought 2 for 1 in fishbowls. We were doing good to get back on the water taxi with all 3 kids. It was a fun atmosphere. They were pulling people out of the audience and making them do things after they had a couple of tequila shots. Fun place to people watch. Can't wait to go back. Would love it to be Whale season. It was bizarre in that it was HOT in CAbo and when we departed port, we rounded the corner around the peninsula and it suddenly got COLD.
FRi- It was cold but we all had packing and again they had tons going on. We went and purchased a few last minute things, found our photos in shutters, saw a movie.....They put "Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer" in the afternoon , followed by the final bingo, and the kids "graduation", then on to dinner, show, bags out and BOO HOO HOO it was over.
Debarkation was a HUGE improvement from the last cruise we were on at Christmas. No waiting in line. It was smooth and Quick and I had been panicked about making our flight and as it ended up we waited in the airport 3 hours. (9:15-12:15)Almost could have made the earlier flight but several of my fellow DIS ers did get to.

I just heard that on the news as well. They said a 7.0 quake 80 miles off N Ca? How long does it take a tsunami to move 80 miles? Wait I guess that is only if it comes straight in but if it goes south it would be more miles. I will pray for you all

thanks for the wonderful report the best one I have read. We are on the June 25, 2005 cruise I just popped in to see what was happening with the cruisers on the cruise right before us. I have you have a wonderful cruise I know I am. And talking about movies I wonder if they are going to show HERBIE THE CAR MOVIE it opens on June 22,2006 Some say they did not see the new movies when they open but they played the week after. That is the week we will be on the ship. We will be looking forward in your reports I remember that I posted from PV right there at the dock and I will try and do so again

HI all!
I'm getting a little nervous about the clothes I can't get into my suitcase. I think I will have to borrow a suitcase (i've used all of the ones we own) just for the evening attire!! :goodvibes
I will be making one more trip to Walmart, just heard that Imodium is better than Pepto! Just in case the virus hits, I'll have something!!
Got a little nervous last night with the tsunami, we are right on the coast. Lots of phone calls checking for the latest information. Scary.
I hope I get to meet you all on Saturday. This has been a very fun way to get information. I appreciate everyones input. :teeth:

There's a brand new Walmart opening up today. It's right off the 405 freeway & Normandie (near the 405/110 interchange)....just in case you need to stop for something.

And great door sign, BTW! Say it on a different thread.
I am so inept. I am still trying to load the disney font so I can make something! Thought a "Happy Father's Day" sign would be appropriate. I did a family one and then several smaller "day" ones: DD's birthday, father's day, pirate night, etc.
Just got back from 4th grade end of year party -- ALMOST made it back to the car before youngest daughter melted down (she didn't want to leave!) 5th grade end of year party is on Friday.

Yes, I would say that Rae Ann has a greater need for the Magic Packing Wand! I'll be waiting for its magic powers though, when she's done! :goodvibes
Good Luck Rae Ann packing and picking the relatives up from the airport. Hopefully, they aren't flying in until the evening. :) Are they flying into Long Beach or do you have to go to LAX? The drive to LAX for us stinks, but the fare prices make it worthwhile most of the time, even when we stay in a hotel the night before.
DD9 wanted a playdate this afternoon instead of going to swim practice. Since she was already super wired from her class party, I let her go. Bonus for me is I had an hour to pack before DD11's swim practice. I actually got one suitcase zipped closed! :cheer2: Now just how many to go ..... ?

I now have four bags packed for our family of 4. I think our pharmaceutical's will take a bag of their own-suncscreen, aloe vera, Imodium (please, Lord, keep us stomach virus-free!), allergie meds, Bonnie, etc. As a Girl Scout I understand the need to be prepared!! Still trying to figure out a way to squeeze in the tequilla and mixer!! Not so "Scoutish". :rotfl:
I think the door sign is the only thing missing. May have to forego it completely at this rate. Not my strong point anyway. My nails and toes need to be done, yet!!! That is a higher priority. :earsgirl:

LOL - as Rene pulled me on stage, she told me "The answer is Venus". DH enjoyed the free shot of the day for me 'cause I have a weird thing about not drinking or eating anything blue.
It seemed like I was always 1 away from excitement on the last day. During the Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer show, the computer picked the empty seat to the right of me. Then during the final jackpot bingo I needed G 55 to win the jackpot and Dessler announced G...........FIIIIIIIIIFFFFFTYYYYYYYYYY.......Two. Drats!! He then proceeded to call 3 other numbers until someone else got bingo. Sigh....My next disney cruise could have been paid for!

Wow! What a wonderful week we had and it was made so much better by getting to know each of you in person!
Rae Ann, we clearly had the same ideas for Palo. Everytime we went, you were there too! Rene, we enjoyed our "grown up" afternoon on Friday with brunch and tequila tasting. It was fun to bump into you both times. dlander, I hope your DH enjoyed the galley tour and tequila tasting also.
The zipline in PV were AWESOME! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Mickie for watching our youngest so I could "ride the lines" too. It was a great day!
It was such fun to be there with RaeAnn and dlander's families.
Randi's was as good as we hoped. No jellyfish! DD2 and I played in the water for a couple of hours while RaeAnn's crew, Holly's crew, and Bev's crew all rode the horses with DH and the older kids. TallMidgetGirl, DD had a great time riding with you! Bev, DD had fun playing with your DD on wednesday, too. I'm sorry that we never got them hooked up again. DD's just really weren't that into the Lab.
DB, fun to bump into your family on the Cabo tender. Hope you had a good time at the beach. We ended up renting a couple of waverunners for 40 minutes and had a blast before returning to the ship to retrieve our youngest from Flounders.
Rae Ann, thanks for the wonderful goodie box. Our youngest loved the squishy ball and it was always part of our dinner "entertainment" One night she apparently left it at our table because it was waiting for her the next day at her plate. Our assistant server, Gemma, had found it and had fun playing with it too.
All of the wonderful fish items througout the week were wonderful -- thanks Jen!
Dave, your Music CD ended up in DH's computer bag and has already returned home (the kids and I are spending the week at my parents), but I can't wait to listen to it. Thanks!
We did rebook onboard for a 7 day eastern next spring and a 7 day western next summer. Our plan is to move one or maybe both of those into 2007/8 however. Although we had plenty of time at Flounders and DD loved going there, I don't want to cruise with a 2 year old again, and maybe not until she is out of the "nap" years. The two days that she had a decent nap she was her usual wonderful self. The other days were not pretty by dinner time. She did love the three main stage shows, but the variety shows/comedians didn't hold her interest so either DH or I ended up taking her back to the stateroom. In general we did missed a lot of the night time activities.
Again, we had a wonderful time with all of you! The world stopped "rocking" today so now I am tackling the mountain of laundry. We'll be uploading pictures in a week or so. PM if you would like a cd.
Take care!

I thought I had finished the laundry, but just found some more that had been "stashed" in the sand bucket. I can't really put things away yet since we are visiting my parents this week in Northern CA. I have repacked everything though so the kids only need to look in 1 suitcase a piece to find their stuff -- not digging through 15 suitcases and bags. :rotfl:
We had a great time with everyone. Thanks again for a great cruise!

Raeann: Your DH is a hoot!!
Anna: I am glad you made it through (most) of your laundry :rotfl: I am glad I was able to do laundry early morning in Cabo. Met another nice guy doing his laundry. DH and I enjoyed chatting. It is so nice meeting great people everywhere on the ship!
I sure do miss running into everyone on the ship. :sad2:

I'm still working on my trip report, but I got some pictures up. Unfortunately, it's at the Costco Photo Center site, and it requires registration.

Thanks again to everyone for your advice, assistance, gifts, humor, and friendly "hellos" onboard. It was easily one of the best vacations I've ever had.
I hope to run into you all again around DIS or the parks or even a cruise ship.
Best wishes,

Hi,
Was anxious to see your photos. I logged on to the Costco site using my account and password but could not get the photos. Can you give me some help? :confused3 I would really like to see them. It was such fun meeting everyone. I too had a fabulous time. :cool1:

Bummer. Let's try this again. I think I gave you an "owner" link instead of a regular link - so of course it worked for me and no one else.

Great pics DB!
I'm still in the process of uploading our pics online. Our guests left this morning to return to Hawaii and we've been quite busy since the cruise. They've been to Long Beach Aquarium, Disneyland, California Adventure, Universal Studios, Legoland, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, and Magic Mountain. They've also gone shopping at several malls, the Orange County swap meet, Ikea, & Trader Joes. For some strange reason, folks from Hawaii like to visit Ikea and Trader Joes. They also like the California Hotel in Las Vegas but thank goodness they didn't have time for Vegas this trip. Phew....I'm still recovering!!
I'll post links of our pictures soon....but until then, you can see a few of my pictures in my trip report on the trip report forum.

Thanks...DW was in charge of the camera for most of the trip. I wish we had gotten a few more of the ship or some of the ports. I can't believe I forgot to take it on the Canopy Adventure. Doh! My SIL has those pictures, but they aren't digital - and she hasn't gotten them developed yet.
Wow, sounds like your company had the complete DE-luxe SoCal Vacation experience! I'd be complete gassed, if I were you. We're going to try to get to Sea World sometime this week, pending my workload.
We were actually at Disneyland Friday night - mostly for the fireworks. What an INCREDIBLE show. July 4th was somewhat anti-climatic.
Here's to a restful rest of the summer,

Dave, great pics! DH also missed a lot of "around the ship" shots I had wanted to take. I guess we just need to take another cruise! :rotfl2:
Rae Ann, your pics are awesome too! You sure have been busy with the relatives - whew!
I will work on getting some of ours pics up soon. lvrodmic, I have a great one of you and my "sacked out" DD in PV - Once again thank you! PM me and I'll send it to you, if you like.
We are into a nice summer routine finally. Have a great summer everyone!

Your Pics are great Dave! I still miss being on the ship. We decided to wait for 2007 for our next chance. We will spend 2 weeks in Florida next year instead. :sunny:

Yes, I think my family caught Disney-itis on the ship. Disneyland last Friday and again in August (thank goodness for Annual passes) We have the Castaway Cay double-dip cruise booked for 2006, and we are currently making plans for a week in Orlando in 2007.
I should have bought Disney stock before I spent all the money paying for vacations! :rotfl2:
Hope everyone is having a fun, safe, and relaxing summer. We're going to try to hit Sea World tomorrow - the boys love the shows and feeding the dolphins.

You'll be getting this answer twice, as I also responded to the other thread - but just in case other folks are only watching this one...
It's luck of the draw. You can tell Disney that you have an early flight and they can move up your disembarkation time.
Given how close Long Beach is to San Pedro, plus how small Long Beach is, I don't think you'll have any problem, so long as you are off the ship by 8:30.
Have a good trip,

Dave - We hit Disneyland twice this week! We are all so happy Space Mountain is back in service :Pinkbounc The crowds were heavy but I have to say we never waited more than 30 minutes in a couple of lines (love that Fastpass!). We are going back July 26 and then on August 14 we are spending a couple of days at the Grand Californian. Although it would be so much more fun seeing the DISers around the park! :wave2:

Oooh - they're doing soft openings of Space Mountain? Good info to have! It sounds awesome - can't wait!
I think we're also going on the 14th (or is it the 21st - I have to check with the social director - DW).
