I've seen so many references to shaker boxes here & on 2peas, but still am not really sure what they are or how they're used.

Would someone please enlighten me?

it's kind of like a snowglobe, only flat. :D search shaker box on 2peas and I'm sure you will find a zillion different kinds. they are pretty easy to make too. maggie

I've done a search on 2peas...that's why I'm so interested in them. They look [B]so[B] neat! So they're just a "snow globe" for a scrap page of some item that "goes with" the page? Maybe some special items (small) you've collected....like Mickey-fetti from a WDW haircut?

Now - I'm just not sure how to actually do them. Can you give me an idea how to actually make one?

They are very easy to make. You just have to remember that you need something transparent (I usually use cut up sheet protector), foam tape (to provide dimension so the things can shake around and hold the back to the front) and something to stick in (like the Mickey confetti you mentioned). Cut out a frame from cardstock and a back. Affix the sheet protector to the frame. Put the confetti (or whatever you want to shake) in, then stick foam tape to each side and stick the frame to the back. That's it!

Here (http://www.diynet.com/diy/cr_scrapbooking/article/0,2025,DIY_13776_2385585,00.html) is an article I found on how to make one if you need pictures (or didn't understand my quick directions!).

Thanks for the directions (Yes, they made sense!) and the link! Now I guess I need a trip to Michael's/AC Moore for foam tape. I'd never heard of that before.

As for the adhesive, I'm assuming you don't mean something like a tape runner? I'm not sure a couple pieces of that would keep the "shakees" inside the box...

Yeah, foam tape works the best because it has bulk so your shaker box is not entirely flat. I think I have a roll made by 3M so it should be in the adhesive section of the craft store or even the grocery store. Good luck!

You hit the nail on the head with the disney head from the barber thing -
that was my FIRST shaker box over 2 years ago!!!!

You can make them a lot of ways too -
using foam(tape of regular craft foam cut to fit!) - double sided tape but then they don't shake as they are too flat - slides (the EASIEST and you can use page protectors cut up to make it completely see-through so you see your paper through it!

Have fun!
