MCO - National counter service for EC members?

I've reserved a compact next month for our trip. Booked through the EC portal, but for compacts only counter service is offered.

Will reserving as an EC member make my counter check-in go more quickly?

With only two of us, there's no need for a bigger vehicle, and going with the compact will save us about $23 over an Emerald Aisle reservation.

(Also, what cars does National usually have for compacts?)

well...

depends on the time of day when you get there how busy the counter is....

as to your choice.....you will have choice of the Compact aisle....

when we rented a compact/economy car in atlanta last august we choose a sunfire

it was a nice car ....just did not have a lot of the power "thingies" of the interm/full size cars....(but i think it did have a cd player)....it was actually a nice car...

i think they also have cavaliers too in compact....but also would have others i am sure

Arriving at 6:30 in the morning, there has never been any line to speak of. Usually, in fact, there's no line. So that's not a big deal.

Normally, counter service means having to answer questions, decline the optional coverages, decline them again, probably decline a third time, sign and initial in several places, and so on. Do I get the pleasure of this experience if I reserve as an EC member?

Sounds like I get a quasi-Emerald service in that I get to choose my own vehicle, though it's not quite Emerald Choice.

The irony is that I don't want to use an Emerald Aisle reservation and then find only cars too big for us. On our last visit, I remember there were no intermediates on the EA - great for your family of four or more, but totally overkill for us.

think if they offer emerald choice you do not have to go to the counter .....

you just check out as you would as if you were in the Emerald Aisle....only you choose from the compact aisle
