We have an opportunity to stay in a friends timeshare resort Westgate Town Center 2 bedroom unit for $500.00 in March. I know Westgate has a bad rap on this board for their high pressure tactics. We will not be subject to these tactics because our friends owns there and is letting us purchase his week.

What are your thoughts on this location?

He also recommened the town center because it's newer. Is this the case?

I would like an answer to this also. Westgate is so big that there always seems to be availability. It's tempting sometimes to try it.

For those that have stayed there, what would be your order of preference, the Villas, TownCenter or Lakes Resort & Spa??

Westgate can be very nice.

However I am an owner that does not stop the sales people from calling me every morning at 7:00am - despite me telling them not too....

Hopefully that won't happen to you - but with Westgate no guaranteeds ever.

there is always something wrong - otherwise you won't go to the maintence meeting correct (this is there sales meeting).

these people do not understand "NO" - you need to repeat it, repeat it, repeat it and repeat it....

they also lie to their owners and tell them when at other places they can go to the owners of that timeshares meeting.....

I stayed there once on a SkyAuctioin sale and had no problems. No one ever called. My unit was fine.

Carol A - You are far luckier than I.

there was also someone else who owned at Westgate and stayed there every year sometime twice and NEVER got a phone call.

He use to post here - hopefully he will again.

Although on the skyauction bid I won - I got no phone calls either....maybe it is skyauction?

What do you think about the price? Is it fair? 500.00 for 2 or 3 bedroom(we have our choice) for 7 nights?

yes because they are paying out more in annual fees

however - no - because most of the time you can do better using
www.skyauction.com

just depends upon how hard to get the week you are asking for.

an easy week - summer, May, most of fall - no it is not

holiday week - Memorial Day, July 4, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc - definitely worth it - most of the time.

He told us we can get any week in Feb, March or April. We just have to decide on when to go. We are probably going 3 week in March.
