My priest is from India which also was hit by the tsunami. His family was living in the state right next to the one that was hit. His family was safe.

Also, my uncle who lives in taiwan was going to go to one of the beaches that was hit for vacation in February. I guess he can't anymore.

It is really sad, to look at pictures of the beaches, and then to realize that all the people that look so happy, are all dead now, or seriously hurt... Even the little kids...On the news they said that an entire generation was lost. And the people over there, digging out the bodies, having to look into the cold, dead faces of children... It is so sad. What about the kids that survived, no home, no parents, no family, nothing, nowhere... It is soo sad.
well leave it to me to depress everyone...

We adopt kids that live in one of the countrys that got hit. We found out that one of the kids is ok but we dont know about the other one. Hopely they will hear from the school soon but all we can do now is pray!

The worst part is that some rich tourists have already returned to ****et, Thailand and have complained about the bad service and poor quality of the beaches...
how insensitive and rude! One Hundred and Fifty THOUSAND were killed

I can't even imagine what those people are going through. There are many tragedies that can be prevented, such as violence, but unfortunately something like a tsunami cannot be prevented. I'm so glad to hear that many countries are helping out with the relief aid.

You know what else is sad is that Disney only gave 1 million and Sandra Bulock gave a million too. I mean how long does it take disney to make a million?

150,000 dead
5,000,000 homeless
and it is estimated that 100,000 more will die from disase.
An Enitire generation of Children was lost.
The bodies are piling up so fast that burial has stopped and now bodies are pillied up and burned to prevent spread of a pleauge.
Now show elephants have been drafted to go to the remote part of Indoniesia, Srylanka (sp), And India.
This is all I have got now, but I will have more later...

I also agree. That's horrible. Not only those, most haven't even been found yet. I heard there were tons of wedding honeymoons out and the resort was washed out, and all of the couples were. They can't find any of them. I feel pretty bad. I donated some aid to my church, it's not much, but anything makes a difference, right?

EVERYTHING helps! if you have $0.50, that will help. That .50 will be added to another 1.50 and it will buy a pair of underwear for some one. Don't hesitate to give, because yu don't think it is enough, give everything you can! Now I am not saying to go bankrupt giving, but at least give something! Please! If you were out picking through debrie looking for your family, wouldn't you want some one to give to you? people say that Indoniesia wouldn't have given any thing if we were in their shoes... But that is not true! Everyone would have given what they had, like we are now. So please, when you pass a person collecting money for this, think, "what if it was me?" I think you may give some more then...

I heard this one story from my mom.
This one family lived in a mud hut right by the beach. They had three boys, a 2-year old, a 4-year old, and a 7 year old,and thier dog. The father was up on a hill, and he saw the tsunami coming. He yelled down to his wife telling her to get thier sons and run up the hill. The wife grabbed the two youngest children and figured that the 7 year old would follow. He didn't. He was so scared he ran back into the hut. The wife couldn't do anything, so she just kept running. Amazingly, the dog turned around and dragged the boy out of the hut and onto the hill to safety.
I heard that the wave was 50 ft. at some points.
My science teacher told us that the wold was shifted so much that we shifted on the axis, and there were 3/1,000,000 or a second added on to our year. So in a million years, we will have to add three seconds to our year.

I heard about this little fouryear old. She was knocked out by a flying peice of debrie and was burried under a lot of stuff. The rescuers found her, and thinking that she was dead, they sent her to a hospital (because she was so young). She woke up in the middle of the mourge. They had her taken outside. She was like the only survivor from where she was... Isn't that amazing?

I heard that a people on a boat (a freighter or something like that) found a survivor. He was floating on a branch about 100 miles away from the nearest shore.
I also heard about the shifting of the axis. That's pretty amazing.

This is another story that I heard...
A man (who couldn't swim!!!) was washed out to sea. He clung to a branch for 4 hours. Her finally gave up, and let go. He washed up on an island like 2 kilometers from where he started. This villager saw him a carried him on his back to to village. The villager's sister took him to a hospital. He called his family. Only 4 people in his WHOLE family got washed out, there were like 30 something of them. He was airlifted back to Indoneisa...
