I was wondering if anyone had stayed in the vacation homes offered in the areas and if you could give me any names of companies that y'all have used. Thank you.

Hi Stnet,
I haven't stayed in a home yet, but I have booked one for June through 5 Star Vacations...the web site is justfloridavacations.com. They have pictures of the actual home you will be renting and the prices were pretty good. We're getting a 4 BR pool home for $149.00 including taxes and pet fee. I did a LOT of research and looked at least 50 sites before I decided on this one.
Good Luck!

This is a great way to spend your time in WDW area. We did this in Oct/Nov 2003. We actually had 2 homes rented as we had a large group of people on our trip. We used the website orlandovillas.com these are all privately owned villas for rent. We got some really good deals and the homes were spectacular.
When you find a home you want be sure to do a lot of research on the home. If it's privately owned verify they have a rental managment company as well as the home actually existing. If it's a company renting the home verify the company with the BBB as there are some scammers out there. There are lots of threads on this topic so you may find it helpful to do a search on rental homes.

We stayed at Highlands Reserve this past April. Beautiful pool home with all the amenities and approximately 10 minutes from the gates of Disney. Set on a golf course, though we aren't golfers, but the setting was beautiful. They have a property management company that is top notch. We had problems with a smoke detector going off and when we called they were right on it. We dealt with Barry Pike through the web site www.highlandsreservevillas.com and he was excellent. Gave me many references to check out, all which were glowing, belongs to the BBB. Monies were done through PayPal.

We just left a condo at Windsor Palms booked through All Star Vacations and it was excellent. We had a 3br, 2 bath condo and it was clean, close to all of the attractions and had a great community pool/clubhouse for the kids. Definetely worth using. :)

Just back from our second visit to a vacation home we found on www.vrbo.com . 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, private pool, hot tub, and a gameroom. We love renting the house for the extra room and privacy!

We have rented a 4 BR pool home in the Indian Creek Subdivision for our November trip. This is our first time renting by owner in FL, but have done it previous times at Mrytle Beach and Hilton Head Island and have always had a great experience. This rental is through www.onlinefloridavillas.com, although we have gone through www.vrbo.com before. We are very excited and have a great price- or at least I think so. 8 nights with pool heating, taxes, cleaning, etc. for $975.00. Thats only about $121.00 per night for our traveling party of 8. Couldnt get two rooms at a decent hotel for that. We will have plenty of room to spread out and not be crowded :crowded:. We have spoken by phone with the owners, they are in the UK. I would suggest renting from a place where you rent directly from the owner instead of a company where you might not be given the villa you are shown on the internet. I have seen pictures of the home we are renting and spoken with them and feel very confident of our choice. Good luck searching. Finding our rental home took me a long time and I am glad it is behind me!! :cat:

Rented a home at Windsor Palms through Global. We are renting this home again for the 3rd time and the owners are rening on their own know as opposed to a company. We love it. We also checked out vbro.com and there were some great owners that got right back to us and were very helpful! :flower:

We can highly recommend www.villadirect.com . We've used them multiple times and will be using them again for the second half our our vacation this summer. You can see the exact house you rent, they're very responsive with customer service and the value can't be beat. We had a brand new 4 bedroom/3 bath home with private pool and spa, overlooking a wetland area, themed kids bedrooms, jacuzzi tub, gorgeous furnishings, big screen TV, etc, etc...all for $130/night!! Ours was the Sunshine Bay Villa at Oak Island Cove, but they have a ton of homes and condos to choose from. It was literally about 2 minutes to Disney too.

We stayed in a two bedroom villa for $89 per night. It wasn't luxurious or anything, but it had a washer and dryer and it was comfortable! Pool area, arcade, it was well worth the money :)

We just stayed at Windsor Palms and rented through orlandovacationhomes.com; Global Real Estate manages the townhome we rented.

We had a 3 bedroom, 3 bath townhome with a hot tub on the lanai. I would highly recommend this townhome. In low season, it was $109 per night.

As others mentioned, you want to make sure if you are actually getting the home pictured (if that's what you want of course).

The only downfall was we were not close to the clubhouse/swimming pool.

There are a ton of pool home sites out there. We went 2 years ago and booked through www.loyaltyusa.com. You can see pictures of the exact home you will be renting as well as the calendar to see if they are booked in the time frame you are looking for. I beleive the subdivision we were in was Indian Ridge Oaks, very accessible to Disney! We had a 4 bedroom with pool. I would rent from them again in a heartbeat!

We are just back from the Lake Berkeley Vacation Homes. The house was nice...spacious with a nice kitchen and pool. The only downside is that the pool was NOT heated(I think that was an extra charge) and only certain homes had a jacuzzi. The clubhouse was nice but the HapiMag's(the resort in the same gate as LB) clubhouse was better. They had a pool bar and music...entertainment. It is a nice place to go with a pretty decent location. It's right around the corner from a Super Wal-Mart and Medieval Times.

Hi this is a copy of post on the thread called "rental homes."

Hi again,
I think this thread and the thread right above are pretty good examples of how many homes, agencies, manangement companies, and websites there are...
Take your time....you will find the right place... and no it won't be the best deal anyone ever got nor will you will it be the worst deal in history...It will be a special deal because your family are the occupants!

My final thought is YOU ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD and where you stay is important but not the center of your trip.

Our first of over 35 trips to Disney was in 1973 in a 1965 Pontiac with kids 6 and 3. We stayed in small motel room on a very tight budget. Our last trip was staying in a nice home with kids and grandkids 9 and 6. I honestly believe that first trip with the old grainy 8MM movies was still the most special of all. The wonder of Disney for all of us, and the room was the last thing we worried about...

Peace and have a great time....Ted

Hi, We just returned...rented a 4 br 3.5 bath pool home in Rolling Hills through www.justfloridavacations.com. It was GREAT! It was so clean, private, and spacious. Had a pool, hot tub and jacuzzi. I would highly recommend this company. They were the owners of this particular home and were very professional.
