:sunny: :sunny: :jumping1: My whole family is very excited to be going to WDW and on the Wonder. My wife and I told our two girls on Christmas day. We had given them gifts like Sunscreen, Aloe Vera, Sunglasses, but they did not put it together until they opened the new suitcases that we were going someplace. We then told them where and when. Anybody else going on this trip???

Hi Hawaii50,
Ours are (will be) 6 and 11. We haven't decided what excursions yet, but are having fun thinking about it. See you in July. Are you doing WDW before cruisng?
hawaii5o
03-09-2005, 08:43 AM
Yes, we are going to WDW before the cruise. Arriving on July 9th and then going on the cruise the 14th. We are staying at pop century for now. I am waiting for a deal to come in the mail. They usually send something for an upgraded hotel, but I have not gotten anything yet. Oh and my husband did the same thing for xmas, he gave us the disney passes, so I said lets do the cruise too!!!! Have you been to disneyworld before? :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

My DW & I have been to WDW many times. We are both ex-CM from Anaheim. This will be the first time for our DD's. We are staying at the AKL starting on the 10th. We will look for you guys.

Just wanted to drop in and say Hi. We will also be on the 7/14/05 DC. My two children ages 8 & 9 will be going with us. This will be their 1st cruise, and my first Disney cruise. I just can't wait. We did WDW in December of 2004, it was great and beautifully decorated for the holidays. Any input or info regarding the cruise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you doing disney before or after the cruise? I think you said you were from the west coast, California??? Did you think of any excursions yet?

In hopes Hawaii50 was refering to me. Our DD's will be 6 and 11. The DD11 gets along well with younger kids.
Yes this is our first cruise, DCL or otherwise. We will be at the AKL from the 10th to the 14th. We will have a magnetic sign on our cabin, but won't at the AKL.

That's OK, I believe I was just mentioning about my daughters experience with the Rock n Roll Roller coaster and some other things, which I can't remember now. Sorry.
So what site was it that you went to? Also my daughters think it is neat that I'm corresponding with people on the cruise with us and that there will be other kids their age on board. Talk Later

Do a search using titles only and put in magnetic and you will find them. I have to still find a source for the magnetic paper. I might have to buy them online.

Do the people on the boards know something we dont know??? LOL.... I cant believe us 3 families are the only ones so far that are going...... did you guys think about your excursions yet? Oh and what is ps??? I cant figure that out.
alanapapa
04-02-2005, 04:36 PM
Well, if we are the only ones, we are sure to have superb service :rotfl:
No, we haven't figured out our excursions. there are a few things we want to do, but haven't put anything down on paper. Part of it depends on our two DD's. We have them in swim classes so we can go snorkeling in CC. My DW had Lazik surgery yesterday so she could see while snorkeling.
PS is "Priority Seating" at restaurants at WDW. They are in essence reservations. Most of the places that take PS's only do them 90 days out. We have our reservation for the "Hoop-de-Doo Revue" already as that one you can make 730 days out.

Check out the new DCL site. I went ahead and registered the kids

Our two DD's have been excited since we told them, now that we are less than 2 months out I can't tell who is more excited, the two of them or my DW & I. We made some of our excursion ressies and our Palo's yesterday. The upgrades to the DCL site are awesome. :cheer2:
What excursions are you guys thinking about? We think all we want to do in Nassau is take the city tour and then walk on our own. DW wants to parasail in CC, but don't know what else.
4dysarts
05-07-2005, 04:08 PM
I know 2 months away!! I have not made any excursion decisions yet. I have also been thinking about the historical city tour or the Ardastra garden and city tour. I have read mixed reviews about it though. However, my mother has never been to the Bahamas so I hate for her not to see it or experience it. My kids birthdays are in May, I got them each their own snorkel set (@ Walmart). The ones birthday has already passed so she has gotten hers and that has just made her more excited. Well, talk later. ::MickeyMo

Hi ya'll, just found this thread on the 3rd page :rotfl: but I knew I had to come across someone else going on the 14-17th!! We just booked the cruise a couple of days ago and I'm so excited! I have a 15yo DD, 12yo DS, a 2yo DS and my little one just turned 10mos. The kids have never been on a cruise so this should be an awsome adventure for them! We're also staying at WDW at the Polynesian after the cruise till July 22nd.
I was really surprised of the availability of rooms left at this late date. We were able to get two adjoining rooms on deck 7 with verandahs! I hear they will drastically discount the prices 30 days out and offer it to the Disney families, lucky them
Now I'm very curious about the magnetic thingy on the doors so I'm about to do a search now :p
Since I found these boards yesterday I've been glued to reading testimonials, tips and stuff!
Looking forward to chatting with you guys :flower:

I think I may stop by Home Depot where they sell the disney paint and pick up some of those mouse ears myself! I'm not creative enough to come up with anything myself ;)
Yes, I'm from Long Island, New York! Just about 20 miles or so from the city or 35 mins. on a train ride!

Hi Laura,
AKL stand for "Animal Kingdom Lodge" at WDW. And it was not a stupid question, some of these initials and acronyms are very confusing.:confused3

Andrew sent me a file for some artsy door pictures, I'm going to try and do something similar in the coming few weeks!
My dh booked the land portion of our trip yesterday! We're staying at the Polynesian in a lagoon view concierge until the 22nd! Woot!!! I'm so excited! Oh, and he also booked the romance package for the ship! Does anyone know how I can reserve our spa massage ahead of time? I've already reserved some of the babysitting, signed my 12 yo. for Oceanears Lab, and reserved Palo  Oh, and we're just about to look into the excursions for CC and Nassau. Trying to figure out what we can all do together with the age diff. 1, 2, 12 and 15. I'd really like to see Atlantis but don't want it to be more work with the two little ones, this is a vacation afterall right?

Hi All,
Thanks for the Pixie Dust. I just talked to the TA (in Denver) on the phone and she said the doc's came in yesterday (6-29-05) and were "mailed out" the same, and that we should get them soon. I am hoping that she either FedEx'ed them or UPS'ed instead of US Snail. Even UPS ground from Denver would arrive Tuesday, but US Snail might not make it until Thurs or Fri and we fly out Sat at 7:40AM. Sorry, but I am venting.

Don't feel sorry for venting. Waiting for the DOC's can make our anxiety level rise. Our passports just came 2 days ago. I know that you technically don't need them yet, but I wanted to have them. Especially since the kids and I are traveling without my husband. I was beigning to wonder since our birth certificates were with the passports. It took a litttle over 6 weeks to get them.
I hope that you get them. Did you get a tracking number so you can look to see where they might be. Good Luck and here is some more Pixie Dust. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

We missed it also, lost track of time after we got on board :).
We saw y'all on the top deck during the fireworks show, but I didn't realize it till later it was you. I even asked if you were using all your chairs and it was too dark to see your face. So I didn't reconize you (from your sig picture) then.
Great trip even with all the small problems we ran into. We rented scooters on Nassau and went to do a u-turn. My wife's scooter couldn't make the turn and she crashed on the curb hurting her foot. Luckly it was only bruised and cut. And if anyone finds a man's wedding band in the water at Castaway Cay, that would be mine. We were out on some floats when I went to pull myself up on the float and the handle I was grabing for caught my ring slipping it off my finger. Water was ~7-8 foot deep there and too cloudly to find it even with a mask :(
Even with all that, we can't wait to do another dis cruise :)
