Hi all!
I am back!
I did really well at the beginning of last year, but then I went into Road Warrior mode! I was out of town at least part of every week between May and December (and most weeks I was out all of the week!) Somehow that messed me up and not only did I quit losing I gained!!!!
However, I have a few weeks at home and have decided to pack up and move to Atlanta this year. (since that is where the work is!) Not sure when the move will occur, depends on when the house sales.
After doing some research I have decided to try the South Beach Diet. My MD indicated that I have some risk of Diabetes since I have mild hypoglycemia and based on the reading this would be a good long term plan for me. I am on day two and so far so good.
I am 5'5" and according to my scales I weigh 182 (and that is probably low!) I can't belive I just told anyone that YIKES! Ideally I would like to lose an average of one pound a week. I have 35 weeks before my goal event, the DVC member cruise so that would be 35 pounds which sounds pretty good to me!
Any suggestions are welcome, you guys are great!

Welcome to WISH, Carol. You will get lots of tips from others about SB, it is a very popular eating plan with many WISH'ers. I think that eating "healthy" unprocessed carbs is a very smart idea and so much better for our bodies. I know alot of my bloating occurs when I eat too many bad carbs.
Good luck and post here often!

Hi Carol!
Welcome to WISH journaling! You will find a lot of support and encouragement here. ::yes:: I WISH you the best of luck with South Beach. I know a lot of people who have had success with it.
Take care Carol and have a great Sunday!

Thanks for all you support!
Day two went very well. I know I need to start excerising, but I seem to have developed a horrid cold over Christmas. I am recoving and once I quit coughing all the time I am at least going to start hiking around the neighborhood.
Today's goal is just to keep on track!

Hi Carol!
I do Atkins, and I am on day 3 of Atkins... ( I lost at total of 74lbs since the birth of dd who is now almost 3 1/2).. I got lazy and gained back 15 lbs.... So I am doing induction again and I know after feeling crummy today I'll be off and running!
I just wanted to tell you how much better I feel when I do the Low Carb way... I too get awfully bloated when I eat junk!
Good Luck! You will do great!

Thanks everyone for your support.
I have been reading the other journals and even though I don't post often you guys are really inspiring.
Yesterday went pretty well. I stayed within the food groups, but probably had a few too many low fat cheese stickes. I did go out and walk for half an hour. I need to pick it up, but didn't want to set off a coughing spell. I think I have almost put this cold behind me.
I am in my actual office for the first time in MONTHS! (The calendar was still set to October)
I need to find something for breakfast. I made the veggie quiche things from the SB cookbook. Ummm.... I don't really like spanich and actually gagged on them coming to work. So I had some cottage cheese for my afternoon snack and I ate that for breakfast. I can always pick up something around lunch when I plan to walk around downtown and see what has changed over the past few months!

Day 4 went good. (Except for the Breakfast fiasco mentioned in yesterday's post!)
I was very proud of myself. We had a management meeting here at work and they had all kinds of baked goods including my fav, Chocolate Chip Muffins and after the meeting they put them in the break room where I go for my water (with the muffin just yelling at me!) I did not even take a bite!! YEAH!!!
Stayed OP on food, but I am thinking that I may have to go to Phase II after 13 days. It just looks like it will be easier while traveling.
I did a 30 minute walk last night and then the PM yoga CD. Could not belive how stiff I was..so I got up this morning and did AM yoga and went ahead and did another 30 minute walk. (It is suppose to get colder here and it was 55 degrees this AM so the time was good.)
I need to go change my timer.
Have a great day everyone!

Hi Terry!
I live on the South of Nashville just over the Davidson County line from Brentwood. I really like it here, but I am probably going to pack up and move to Atlanta for work this year.
Yesterday went well. I am doing well with water and food. I think I may be eating too much cheese though. The SB book is a little unclear on the substitution things and I was not doing their diet plan. That was too much for one person. Let's get real most of these receipes feed four. So I make one and eat it for four meals.
Did do PM yoga last night, but overslept this morning and didn't get to do AM yoga. I am working from home this afternoon so if the rain lets up I will head out of a walk.
Good luck to our walkers Sunday, I PROMISE to be there next year. (Hope you all come back with me!)

Hey Carol!!! :teeth:
I was actually surprised to see you here since you always have looked great any time that I've seen you at Disney. I'm sure you still look great! ::yes::
I'm on SB too and I have to tell ya, I'm in complete agreement about those quiche cups, nastiest things I've ever tasted!
It looks like you are already off to a fabulous start. You will reach your goal, I have no doubt.
Good luck with the move! You'll be even closer to WDW! :teeth:

Good Morning!
Michelle, Thanks so MUCH for this kind words. Trust me I probably weigh a little more then last December (which is I think the last time I saw you!)
I got on the scale this morning and the WOOSH fairy has made an appearance. 4.5 POUNDS GONE!!! YEAH!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I know that lots of that was the easy water weight at the start of any program, but I am happy! My scale says 177.5 (and I got on three times to check!) I think it is actually a little low, but I figure it's the one I use and I will just be consistent and stick with it!
Yesterday, I wanted to skip the excersise, but then I got online and read some of your journals and was inspired so upstairs to do the Kathy Smith Weight video (can't recall the full name) I thought that so many of you do so much that I had NO excuse. I mean I am single so it's not like I have kids and spouse so lots less to take up my time there. (And the boyfriend lives 200 miles away!)
Did well with meals yesteday. I met a friend for lunch and was good, ignored the bread and had chicken with steamed broccoli and a salad. I am being domestic (for me) and cooking breakfast!
Thanks for inspring me. :rockband:

 Hi, Carol. Thanks for stopping by my journal. . .of course, I had to come over and see yours. Boy, am I glad I did! I was thinking of making the dread nasty quiche cups! Your post (and Michelle's) stopped me in the nick of time!!!
Congrats on the 4.5 lbs. you lost! That's wonderful! We'll learn about South Beach together, OK? I made the roasted chickpeas last night and they were, well, hmmm, they were unusual. The recipe said to roast them 'til they "rattle" in the pan. . .well, I roasted them for 50 minutes and I think they should have been roasted for about 80. DH said "a few weeks wouldn't be long enough". . . Oh, well, we're on a SB Adventure!
(Edit: I had to edit this to add that I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia, too, and have an extensive family history of diabetes. I LOVE how I feel on SBeach (and I'm on Phase II). I really think that having controlled blood sugar levels is making an incredible difference in my energy and craving levels.
Do you find the same thing?)
Have a good weekend and stay OP! You're doing an amazing job!

This weekend has gone very well. (I even passed up Chocolate Birthday cake at my Girl Scout meeting today, went out to the car and got my cheese stick!)
I took yesterday off from excerise (except for the AM Yoga DVD). I did the Kathy Smith video today and plan to walk tomorrow.

Hi I am back!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I was out of town and had very little internet access.
I did slip a little, but I am back on track today! One of the reasons I chose SB was that you can go back to Phase I when you slip to get back on track and I found Phase I easier that Atkins induction! So I am back on Phase I.
I did wear a pedometer while I was away and averaged around 10,000 steps a day! It is COLD today so I will probably do a workout video!
I am off to see how you guys are doing to inspire me!

I didn't do the video last night. (Motivational issues) I am going to try and go to the local ice rink at lunch today and skate. (I read someplace that skating burns like 600 calories an hour, who knows if that is right, but I did it a few years ago and really liked it. It does tone your backside!)
Meals went well yesterday so things are going OK.
I love reading all the journals even if I don't post often. Everyone is so inspiring!

Well today was good. I think I had a few too many nuts, but I did ice skate! I think I am going to be sore tomorrow. I forgot that it uses muscles I don't normally use.
The neat thing was that the public session was EMPTY. For most of the time I was the only one in the rink (that way the little kids don't fly by me as they laugh at the old lady!)
I am heading out of town tomorrow for two days. Got to do better then I did last week!

It's confession time.
I fell completly off the wagon yesterday! :guilty: I think it was a combination of TOM and just not having any good choices avaialbe. I was going to get Breakfast delivered from the hotel, but the only thing they had that was SB friendly on either thier room service or dining room menu was $23!!! While I could have done it, that is more than a Character Breakfast at Disney. :earseek:
So... I wound up eating a danish at the training class. :guilty: THen I had a sandwich and a cookie at lunch. :guilty: And Dinner was.....beer and Trail Mix at the airport. :guilty:
So... back on track today. I have to weigh Saturday! I am going to do some excerise today. Haven't decided if I will walk or ice skate. (watching the weather for my decision!)
Hope all of you do better then me! :cheer2:

Ice Skating in Nashville! Who would have thought that was even possible? ;) I hope you decide to ice skate again! It does sound like lots of fun!! But like Michelle, I would get my exercise getting up off the ice over and over and over again.

CarolA
01-22-2005, 09:25 AM
Hey!
I wound up not doing either skating or walking yesterday. I was just flat out tired. I had late flights both Wed and Thursday and between that and TOM I felt like I had been hit by a truck LOL!
However, stayed OP (Phase I again!) for food! :D
And I got on the scale this morning. 176! Another pound and a half gone! YEAH!!!! :flower1: Since my goal is to average 1 pound a week and so far in January I have done 6 pounds I am on track (I know there will be slow downs so getting a head start now would be good) That also means I met my January Challange.
Not sure what I am going to do today. The weather is an issue. It may "snow" here. Now for those of you who shovel daily (HI BETH!) this may sound funny, but here in Nashville we don't do snow here. First as soon as they mention snow we all :moped: to the grocery to stock up..... for the next year LOL! Then at snowflake one we all drive into each other. We are pathetic! I would like to walk so I might just need to get off the PC and start hiking before it gets cold and starts raining (which would proceed any snow!)
I would like to join a gym, but since I will list the house this week and hopefully move soon, it doesn't seem worth it.

Well is snowed. Now you folks from up north would be rolling on the floor with laughter. It kind of covered the streets and the media is out in full force yelling about us staying off the roads. I will until much later since I live on the side of small mountain (and we don't get any snow/ice removal here!)
Yesterday I wound up doing the Kathy Smith video. Not sure what my excerise will be today. I don't like to ice skate on the weekends. The rink does a lousy job of maintaining control and there are always kids doing stupid stuff like sliding thier body on the ice to stop. If it warms up to above freezing I might walk. (NOTE: I don't really own clothes for walking/running in the bitter cold! LOL)
Stayed OP with food yesterday, but I didn't count my waters and don't think I drank enough. Will have to mointor that today.

I can well remember how everything closes even with the prediction of snow. ;) Having no snow removal equipment really does make things difficult. Well the snow is all gone. LOL!
There was more salt on the road then snow!
Did pretty well yesterday. However, I waited so long to post I am clueless about what I ate. I did grill a steak in the George Foreman grill and set off the smoke alarm. Only I forgot the alarm is tied to the monitioring company. They called the fire department. (They were able to recall the fire department) So tonight I will just do a salad, less risk.
I just got back from a 35 minute walk. It has warmend up some here and since I was working from home it was easy to sneak out.
Thanks for dropping by!

Hello!
Not much to report today. I am on track with food and water. (I am cheating and having a second Diet Coke, but I figure it keeps me from falling asleep during the class I am suppose to be listenng to)
I don't know what I will do for excerise, but my Brownie Troop is doing the Good Sports Try It tonight so I should get some work in there!
I am currently wrestling with some "life changes" I had decided that I was going to pack up and move to Atlanta with my current job. I like the work, like my boss etc...Today I got a job interview with a company here in town. I am highly qualified for the job I am being interviewed for. It is basically what I did for years at my last company. SO... do I want to stay here, do I want to go back to what I used to do? I hate these type of decisions.
geetey
01-25-2005, 01:50 PM
That's a very difficult decision, Carol.
We moved this July from Nashville to St Louis. I love being back in a Baseball town but there are lots of things I miss about Nashville too.
Some things to consider...
Where are you from originally?
Do you have family you would be leaving?
Have you considered the traffic? (I hear Atlanta is horrid! )
Do the bennies and pay work out?
What are the cost of living differences?
Have you discussed this possibility with your SO/family members?
IF the new job didn't work out, would you have other placement available in Nashville or would you need to move?
How's your relo package? Will they buyout your home? Help with expenses?
Just some things we went through trying to make the best decision we could. We moved closer to family (which is both good and bad), left behind a wonderful community of school and friends. The weather isn't better. The cost of living is higher. The schools are better. No other job possibilities in the Nashville area for DH, so we would end up moving regardless. We had a 60 day buyout on our home, so no worries there. It's a list of pros and cons. I know it isn't an answer but I hope it helps a little. :)
CarolA
01-25-2005, 04:12 PM
Terry,
Thanks!
A lot of these were considered with the decision to move. I have been here a LONG time, but I do have family and a boyfriend in Atlanta. My relocation package is not great, but there is also no timeline. They are paying me a flat fee. (NOTE: This is not a standard relocation so the terms are different, it was basically my choice to move.)
Atlanta traffic and cost of living went on the negative side of the move LOL!
I am in healthcare consulting so there are usually at least some jobs in Nashville.
I think money may be the deciding factor. I don't think I will take the new job unless it is a sizeable raise. I just don't know if I am excited about doing Patient Accounting installs all over again! LOL!
geetey
01-25-2005, 06:10 PM
Ah, if you are in Healthcare, there should be plenty of opportunities in Nashville. DH is in retail. Not too many big retailers with headquarters in TN. ;) That's a world that is becoming smaller and smaller.
I hope they come through with the big bucks for you! Have you found the cost of living comparison sites? You can see how much your Nashville $$ would be worth in Atlanta.
Good luck with your decision! It certainly isn't an easy one.
CarolA

Today's updated.
I did well on food yesterday, but didn't get my excerise in. I went to the Brownie meeting (I have not made once since Thanksgiving due to my travel. :earseek: ) The girls were so cute and we did move around the entire meeting. It was all games last night so maybe that helped some. However, we had a problem locking the school so I volunteered to hang around until the person with the key showed up so it was fairly late when I got home.
Had my job interview today. They have "moved" me to another job that I am also qualified for, but is not as interesting to me. So... unless hey show up with lots of money off to Atlanta I go. :moped:
Terry I think in reality I am taking a pay cut when yo look at the cost of living, but since I am downsizing my house I don't think I will feel the cut as much.
Today has been good so far. My salad did have some strawberries in it, but I ate them anyway (Aren't they allowed on Phase II of SBD?) I plan to work out when I get home tonight.
See you!
geetey
01-26-2005, 06:55 PM
No problem taking a pay cut, especially when you know you are. DH took a significant paycut to come to Nashville and it worked out great for us. We were shocked at how much housing had gone up here in STL and I, personally, still don't think he really realized how much higher the cost of living was here in STL. We are okay, just not as good as before. (Electricity is expensive in other cities!!)
It sounds like you had fun with the Brownies last night. That was very sweet of you to offer to wait at the gym. You are doing great on your SB! Keep it up!! :bounce: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Hello!
Still plodding along. Yesterday for excersie I did the Kathy Smith weight video. I must be getting better, the leg things didn't kill me this time.
Have done good on food and water and today I went for a 30 minute walk around the subdivision.
Got a call from the HR person on the job I interviewed for yesterday. That makes me nervous. I am afraid they are going to offer it to me and I don't know.... maybe the $ will make the final decision. I called him back and while waiting for him to call I could feel the "nervous eating" coming on so I decided to go walk. I am calmer now. I convinced myself it would be like the Disney job a few months ago and be such a huge paycut the decision would be made. (I sent them a resume for a job on thier website. The screener called and it was a 50% pay cut. :rotfl2: For that much money I can go to Disney a LOT!)
now on light note. My SIL made a deal with the kids. When they turned 8 they could pick the color of your bedroom. Just be careful when making deals with kids. (Hopefully there will be a photo below)

Hi Carol,
If it wasn't a perfect fit, then it is for the best that they turned you down. It is their loss. You can always keep looking right?
I think they did a good job on the bedroom. Not the colors I'd choose, but at least it was done well. When we bought our house, the masterbedroom was painted light green with 1 wall being green and lavender stripes. Again, not my colors of choice, but the worst part about it was that the stripes were painted freehand and were all crooked. It drove me crazy.
You did an awesome job going for a walk and not munching. Keep up the great work.

Very early post today since I have a packed day.
I weighed this morning since I will be out of town visiting my mom tomorrow. Down 1.5 pounds to 174.5. That makes a total of 9.5 in January.
The next few weeks are the real challange, back on the road. I am determined to do better though. Hopefully coming over here to confess every day will keep me on the straight and narrow!
Everyone have a great weekend!

Well for an accountant I can't do math. It should be 7.5 for the month LOL! I still think I did pretty well
Visited family this weekend and for the MOST part I stayed on track. Had a slip or two, but... I did make a point of walking at least 10,000 steps every day.
On a NSV note. I am wearing a pair of jeans that I had to SQUEZZE into a few weeks ago. They fit and zipped up easily! YEAH!!
Off to CT this week. (I bet it is really cold) I am in the airport now so I probably won't have time to read all the updates since my last vist!

Congrats on that 1.5 loss AND 7.5 for the month!! That's awesome!!
I am glad the job issue resolved itself. Sometimes things just aren't meant to happen. I am glad this ended rather quickly for you. It's really hard when things like this drag on and on and on... and you end up in limbo.

Well I am home from this week and I had good days and bad days. However, I think the bad days outweighed the good ones. :guilty:
We are changing hotels next week. This one had a PATHETIC fitness center and there is no way I am walking outside in single digits. I am a southern girl! That should help.
I don't think I will even weigh this week. Just kick it hard next week and see how it goes.
I promise to get to reading this week. You guys inspire me to keep on track!
Hope everyone has a good Weekend!

Sorry about the Blecky fitness center, Carol. I am glad you will be able to switch to a different hotel. I hope the accomodations are significantly better! :Pinkbounc Just keeping watching what you eat, drinking your water and grabbing some extra steps where you can.

This is what happens when you don't journal. You fall to page two and you don't lose any weight! LOL
I think I am going to have to actually start posting my food and excersise to keep me "honest" Just a few too many cheats and I am already stuck.
So today (Saturday)
Breakfast was eggbeaters scrambled eggs with onion, pepper and lowfat cheese (#T)
Snack was a cheese stick
Lunch was Talipa and Broccoli at Ruby Tuesdays (had to evaucate the house for a showing)
Not sure about the mid afternoon snack
Dinner will be chicken on the George Foreman and broccoli. (I am only home until Tuesday night and I don't want to stock up so I am eating out of the freezer, this meal will be repeated LOL!)
I woke up with a cold! YECH! But since the house has a third showing today at 3:30 at 3 I am heading to a local park for an hour walk.
Ok the Walk hit a roadblock! The car won't start so now I have to hang around the house waiting on AAA to jump me off. Aren't batteries suppose to warn you they are dying. The stupid car tells me it is low on washer fluid but fails to mention the battery is dying.... WHO care about washer fluid?
Well it's not the battery, maybe the starter.... the car went away on a tow truck. I will go get a rental tomorrow.
CarolA

Well, I am down 0.5 pounds. (Hey it's a loss! I will take any and all!)
Breakfast was cottage cheese,
Lunch will be a salad made with the leftover chicken
and dinner (see yesterday)
Not sure what I am doing for excersise. It is raining... a friend is on her way to take me to the rental car place. Of course this morning it occured to me that the car might be under warranty and... I am pretty sure it is. So tomorrow I have to have it towed to the dealer. (Blond moment, I was thinking since I was out of the "free" maintenance I was out of warranty. I have a few thousand miles before the 4 year/50,000 miles runs out.)
CarolA
02-14-2005, 03:41 PM
Well I am still hanging around....
Excersise is not happening. I can't breath. I have managed to get the cold that everyone else I work with had over the last few weeks. At least I am working from home today and tomorrow so maybe I won't infect anyone else.
Breakfast today was low fat yogurt eaten while waiting on the tow truck to move the car.
Lunch was a salad with grilled chicken.
Had a few cheesesticks as treats since i feel bad.
Happy Valentines Day everyone!

Thanks Tracy!
I feel better today, but not great. (I can at least breath LOL!)
I cheated, I got on the scale. I am not normally a scale person, but this morning while waiting on the shower to warm up I hopped on and..... I am down a pound. 173!!! YEAH! :cheer2:
Hopefully I will feel like walking around lunch. It is suppose to be 72 Degress here so I really want to take advantage of the weather.
Guess I better go work so I can play later!
edit 1: Breakast was eggbeaters scramble with 3T lowfat cheese, peppers and onions.
(Need to start on water have only had one glass and it is 9:30.) I have been fighting with the office PC. Glad no one can hear me say nasty things about our software and Bill Gates! LOL!
Edit 2 6 PM. Have done good with food today. Forgot to track my water and I think I am a little short so I will try to drink a few glasses this evening.
Went for an hour walk. Did the walk with a few 2 minute jogs and did about 3.5 miles. Not great, but I was really trying not to push myself since I feel pretty under the weather.
Gotta go pack for Atlanta :moped:

Hi All!
Thanks for your comments.
I did OK while I was on my business trip, but yesterday was a bust.... There was NOTHING SB Friendly about any of my meals LOL!
I did walk for about 30 minutes Wed evening and worked three two min jogs in there.
Today I went for a walk at my local park. Doing my 5 min walk, 2 min jog method I did 2.4 miles in 36 minutes so not too bad.
Doing well on food today, but need to drink some water!
Hope everything has a good weekend.

Hello again!
Yesterday had it's ups and downs. I woke with a MAJOR headache, but had to be out of the house at 10:30 for a showing so I did it. Returned home at 11... they were still here. Went to grocery, returned at 11:30 they were still here.... sat in car on street for half an hour... and then eating disaster... I went for Mexican :sad2:
However, I did resist buying a box of Girl Scout cookies at my troops booth sale. (It helped that by the time the booth sale ended we only had 12 boxes left and those were not the dreaded Thin Mints)
While I was at the sale, I got a call I had an offer on the house. I countered and on the way home found out they accepted. I was so stressed I didn't even eat dinner and there were no snacks yesterday afternoon so maybe that will make up for the Mexican.
Not sure what I am going to do about my walking today. It is raining pretty hard, but maybe it will let up.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday!

Well I had a run in with some Girl Scout cookies yesterday. Thin mints are evil. I think it was stress. Yesterday was just crazy and I somehow doubt the next 45 days are going to be get better.
But there was good news. Got on the scale today and I am down .5 pounds to 172.5. Not great but I will take it! (At least it went down and not up!)
Off to Houston for a business trip. Wish me luck staying on track.
Edit at 5 PM. I hit the treadmill at the hotel and did 1.86 miles in 30 minutes. It amazes me how the quality of the treadmill makes a big difference. This one is very cheap and that 1.86 miles was harder then 2 miles on a good treadmill.

Hi carol,
Thin Mints are evil. I had a run in myself. You are right about the quality of the exercise equipment. Walking on a cheap treadmill screws up my knees for days.
Have a great trip.

Hello all
I have not been doing good about checking in. Life has been just crazy, plus last week we worked until about 10 every night!
This week I am at home and have gone back to Phase I on the SBD. Breakfast was egg beaters with lowfat cheese, onions and peppers. Lunch was chicken salad and dinner will be grilled chicken and broccoli. (My meals are being driven by the desire to clean out the frig and freezer over the next month LOL!)
Of course I am sitting here watching the Travel Channel Disney special. It is making me hungry... They are at Victoria and Alberts!

Lunch was chicken salad and dinner will be grilled chicken and broccoli. (My meals are being driven by the desire to clean out the frig and freezer over the next month LOL!)
So I thought being at home would be easier. I forgot that I work for idiots LOL! Last week was a nightmare. Lack of planning and oversight by the team managing the project I am working on meant that the worker bees were abused last week. LOL! I just ate what I wanted to live thur it. (But I didn't tell off any of the idiots so that gives me some bonus points)
Got back on track this weekend. Have been walking and watching my food and today I am down to 171.5 Proof that stress causes you to lose weight (I wake up every night thinking of things I have not done LOL) That means that since I started this year I am down 10.5 lbs!
I am not setting any speed records for weight loss, but at least the overall trend is down.
My original goal was 1 pound a week. If I can just do some type of down between now and late April when the move will be over I will consider that a victory! I am joining the Y in Atlanta so that should help!
Thanks everyone!

I moved and I think I lived!
However, Sunday morning I discovered that my shower drains into my kitchen light. NOT GOOD! LOL! So today I am waiting on the plumber.... He was suppose to be here between 8 and 1.... It's 3:30 and now they are saying after 5 today! :confused3
The cable guy came to move the cable (the first wire is on the front of the condo, homeowners association was NOT happy about that LOL!) and his drill died. He promised to be back first thing tomorrow....we'll see!
On a good note, I restarted SBD Phase I today. I really need to go to the grocery, but don't know if I can ever get out of here between waiting on contractors.
CarolA
05-03-2005, 07:55 AM
Well I did good yesterday.
I have decided to make one modification to SBD and that is breakfast! I am letting myself have some strawberries and cottage cheese for breakfast. I just don't have time for the egg stuff!
Today I am going to see about running by the Y on my way to work (after Cable guy gets done!) and signing up.
On a good note, the plumber did come and it was no near as horrid as I expected. Now the electrician has to come fix the light! The prior owner of this home had purchased a home warranty and I am making use of it. (My agent also gave me one, but the agent one does not seem to be as good!)

Yesterday was good food, water and excerise wise. (Walked for 45 minutes)
I packed my lunch for work today to keep me on track.
However, last night I came downstairs and water was coming thru the kitchen light again.
So I cancelled the electrician and the plumber returns Saturday. I think we have it figured out... it's the overflow drain on the guest bath tub. Wonder how you fix that? The warranty folks have been great. There is no "service fee" on this visit. I just hope that everything is covered!
I have always had brand new houses so this is a learning adventure!
CarolA
05-05-2005, 09:39 AM
Did good yesterday on food and water, but didn't do any excersise. Instead I went to Lowes and bought a new facuet for the master bath for the plumbers to install Saturday while they are fixing the leak!
However, on a bright note... nothing else broke yesterday LOL!
CarolA
05-06-2005, 10:04 AM
Yesterday was another good day for food and water, but "Bad" on the excersise.
On a good note, my boyfriend got me signed up at the Y. (We are on the family plan. No, we are not married, but we have been dating for almost 15 years so we might as well be.) Got to go this weekend and get my pass and sign up for thier orientation.
However, now I will be out of town the next few weeks where it is harder to resist temptation.
Even if I don't post, I do read lots of your journals and you guys are so inspiring!

Well, I fell off the wagon a little yesterday. We had a lunch for my Boss's Birthday. Lunch wasn't too bad, but then the cake! OMG!!!! This cake was SO worth the fall! It was by far the BEST cake I have ever eaten......So I really don't regret it. I think I could have passed it up if it had been basic sheet cake, but.....
The rest of the day was good and I did a 55 minute walk last night!
Today I "hope" to go to the Y. A lot depends on what time the plumber shows up!
CarolA
05-08-2005, 10:25 AM
Yesterday was NOT a good day.
At 11:30 the plumbers called. Now 8-1 had become 3:30 to 4:30... Haven't we been down this road once this week? Man now has a new body fluid exit and I have a "promise" that they will be here EARLY Tuesday. He even had the never to say "we understand your time is valable" :rotfl2: So that's why you are 4 hours late???? You respect my time!
The whole incident just set me off and I basically was 10 second from tears all afternoon. (Picture this, I am walking through the mall just about to burst into tears....it was not pretty LOL!)
I did breakdown and eat a chocolate bar, but other then that food was good.
Part of this was PMS, but still...
I also decided that part of the reason I am unhappy is that I hate my living room. My long term BF keeps acting like I am stupid to want to replace all the furniture etc... "you might only stay here a few years" SO??? Why should I be miserable for a few years. The room is too small for the furniture and the PAINT! The former owner did not belive in light. THe paint is ALL dark and dingy! :sad2:
So... who cares what he thinks. I found a bright yellow loveseat yesterday and I may just go buy it and start over. LOL! :wizard:
I realize that NONE of this has to do with food and/or excerise, but I just wanted to put down in black and white what is driving me crazy!!!!
Have a great Sunday!
CarolA
05-09-2005, 10:56 AM
Yesterday was a much better day... Nothing broke in the condo. (Hey it doesn't take much to make my day!)
Went to the Y for a work out, but they have "new fangeled" Cybex machines hooked up to a computer and on Sunday there was no one to help me. So I just walked/jogged (mostly walked) for 45 minutes.
I think that tomorrow I am going to be brave and weigh myself (LOL!) I haven't weighed in WEEKS!
Have a good day!
Hmm... I slipped. I was so mad at the plumbers I ate a Reese's Peanut Butter cup (Actually two of them!)
The IDIOTS are now back to sometime between 8 and 1. Well on Saturday I told them I had to walk out the front door of my house no later then 1:30 and they agreed. The "Witch" who does the scheduling is like..."I can't help you" If I knew of a reliable plumber I would just pay to be done with this!
