Hi all, Poker Central is 8002. After the dust settles, give us a call or look for us at a table near the Quiet Cove pool for a game. We're up front on the ship. We were anxious to get there first. Wes pirate:

We are there as well. :cool1: There have been a couple other threads for this cruise, but very few responses. I guess there will be just a few of us on this cruise.

Hi guys. We only have a few weeks left and we aren't organized very well. Has anyone out there ever orgaized the DIS meets? I know on our last cruise they all did so much together. We are in rooms 8564 and 7570. It is myself, my hunk of burning love, my 8 yo son, 5yo son and 2yo daughter. My mom is coming as well. We are coming in the night before and as we always enjoy spending the full day enjoying the pool , we will be arriving early for boarding.

We are still waiting on our room assignment. Oh, well. Soon enough we will have our documents and hopefully will know.
We also are coming in the night before. We haven'r decided where we are staying but we also want to be at the port early. What time do you think you are getting there?
I have never planned a meet, but I went to one.

A Bailey's colada is a pinacolada with Baileys--very yummy.
We are staying at the Embassy Suites South. Free transportation to and from the airport. Then we have reserved a van to go to port at 9:00 something. It would be fun if we met before the cruise.
7570 should be great. We have been in most of the numbers right through there and they are great.
What is everyones ETA for the port? When should we meet? Before or after boat drill?

Hi, I'm brand new to the boards - well I've been reading a lurking for just a little bit, but knowing that our ship is on it's way to the west coast has brought me out of the woodwork. Well that and we finally worked out my DH passport issues. It's me DH, DS 9, DD 2 on the curise and we'll be staying two days prior to sailing at the Hyatt Long Beach.
Please explain what dis meets and t-shirts etc, are? Do members of the discussion boards organize things? I've been thinking about printing magnets for our door, and I'm so disappointed that Shirley doesn't have a west coast vendor, but I'm trying to put together my own baskets - any ideas would be great. :earsboy:

We have been on several DCL cruises and in the past the DIS people have always had matching door signs that one person created for everyone and over Christmas they had a connection for tshirts and all had gorgeous lime green tshirts. They met after embarkation and had various times that they would meet up. They also played room tag which I am not quite sure how it works. I did not get involved before our cruise because I had no idea of how much fun they would have together. We saw them everywhere laughing and having a great time together. They hung out on excursions, sat together at bingo, shows, had photos made together, visited each other at home...Now all of them rebooked together and are all on the repo cruise gone right now.
It sounds like several of us have children about the same ages It also is fun for them to meet some other friends.
So far I can count 11 families from here and previous thread.Hope that answers your questions with the little knowledge I have of it.

We could also do DIS survivor buffs which we could use to recognize everyone. Tshirts atleast with our messy eaters can only be worn once.
MousseauMob
05-14-2005, 05:28 PM
What are survivor buffs?
I did read a thread about the tag. If I understood it correctly, I think what happened is someone made a door magnet and then everyone posted their stateroom numbers. Everyone took the list of stateroom numbers and then the door tag was placed on a door. Each person would then tag the next person by placing on another door - and hopefully not getting caught.
I'm happy to start this one and create a door magnet. Can everyone post their stateroom door so we can start the list.
We're in 8100.
windermerejudy
05-14-2005, 06:15 PM
OK you aren't a survivor fan ? They are bandanas that each team wears in any fashion they choose (around the wrist, neck, as a hat, tied to a bag, as a belt, I know one cruise they had buttons made.
We are in 8564 and my mom is in 7570.
WRH3MD is in 8002.
Those are the only room numbers we know.
8100 looks awesome. Have you stayed in there before?
MousseauMob
05-14-2005, 06:19 PM
Nope, not a survivor fan - I've never seen the show.
This is our first cruise on the Disney Cruise line so we've never stayed in any staterooms. My DS 9 is already a bit disappointed because our room has the solid metal veranda rail instead of plexiglass. I'm sure he'll forget ALL about that once he's on board and having fun! :rotfl:
windermerejudy
05-14-2005, 06:29 PM
I have seen those balconies from above and they are HUGE. You will love it. Not of course to mention the extra space in the cabin. :cheer2:
I am so excited for you. DCL is awesome. Everything first class. Shows will blow you away. When we board the first thing you need to do is book Palo reservations in the lounge. We found out over Christmas that brunch is great and not to be missed. We were just talking about what day to shoot for. The last cruise we booked it for the 2nd day and that ended up to be our character breakfast assignment. Do you live out west?
windermerejudy
05-14-2005, 06:31 PM
MousseauMob, I forgot to tell you I also have a DS8 (almost 9) DS5, and DD2
MousseauMob
05-14-2005, 06:48 PM
Great, our kids are together in age. My DS plays with the twin boys next door and they are 5 also - he plays with all ages and gender. So, he'll be happy with both the 8 (almost 9) year old and/or the 5 year old.
We're very excited and I'm a big planner so we've already made our reservations for brunch, tea, shore excursions and spa on the website. I love this feature, we won't have anything to do once we board but have FUN! :)
We are out west. We're in Utah and we'll be driving down. Are you out west? I was wondering if these cruises would be made up of mostly west coasters or if it was going to be a mix.
windermerejudy
05-14-2005, 06:54 PM
No we live in Orlando and still can't get enough. It is so nice to just have a different itinerary so we immediately wanted to do west coast. Normally it is so easy from here-- a 40 min drive and we are on vacation. This is a little harder.
If you go to the live repo pictures go to posting #214 and the deck below where the people are standing withall the glass you will see really wide balconies. Thats your room.
I did not know you could do Palo's ahead. When did they start that? How do I do that? Is it the same number that i used to book shore excursions?
MousseauMob
05-14-2005, 06:55 PM
I'm going to start a friendly :) game of stateroom door tag once we board the ship! Please post your stateroom number to this thread and be sure and bring a list with you so you can Tag the next dis member after you've been tagged! :dancer:

They just started it, May 4th or 5th. You go to the disney cruise website and click My Disney Cruise (upper right link) from there you need to use the button to Retrieve Reservation. You'll be asked for your confirmation number and birthdate. This is typically the birthdate of the primary person on the reservation. I think you also have to be a member of the website but that's a simple registration much like what you did to have access to these boards. From there you'll see all your reservation information and you can click My Cruise Plans to book reservations. Hope this helps! :teeth:
Thanks for the info on the veranda, I'm going to go try and see them now.

OK I went to book Palos but they only had dinner and high tea. Did they have brunch and now it is full or is that not being offered anymore, or is it still first come first serve once on board?

Mickeyfan66 & I are in room 7125-So should we make a door magnet for our stateroom door???
MousseauMob
05-14-2005, 07:13 PM
Gosh, I don't know. When I did it they had two brunch listings. I have read that they have had some problems and don't have everything available on the website. So, maybe they've closed it for online reservations. I hoped they're not booked so you can get a reservation. You could call you TA or Disney. :confused3
MousseauMob
05-14-2005, 07:16 PM
I don't think so, I was planning on just making the 1 (well I'll probably bring a spare in case one gets lost) and then having it make the rounds. So whenever it's found a door it would move to the next. But, I don't know maybe it would be a good idea to have a couple making the rounds. I'm new at this, what do you think?
windermerejudy
05-14-2005, 07:24 PM
Thanks for the info about Palos. Hopefully they withhold some reservations like the dw restaurants do for bozos like me that had no clue. What night did you all get for dinner? It is so hard to decide because you don't want to miss the themed nights. Someone commented that the boat was full however I was just talking to one of the reservationist about this whole Palos thing and she said a lot of cabins had recently come available. Why I don't know. Anyway I hope it stays like that. More room in the Mickey pool.
We went down to MGM last night for a couple of hours. Tonight we are meandering over to Epcot--kids want to ride Soaring again. Parks seem empty.
MousseauMob
05-14-2005, 07:37 PM
We aren't doing dinner. I couldn't figure out the rotation thing with the theme nights and we're not sure how well DD 2 will do in the Nursery, so we decided to just do brunch on Friday at 10:30am. I have a reservation for tea on Sunday at 3:00 for myself alone, so if anyone what's to join me, I'll be the one with my nose buried in a book. DH doesn't do tea, my DS would - he loves doing afternoon tea, but no kids allowed. ;)
I was clueless about the website ressies also! I just happened to stumble upon a thread the day after it went live.
I wonder why the cabins became available? If rooms are freeing up, the ressie's might free up - you might want to check periodically. Although I guess the cabins freeing up maybe the TA's releasing reserved rooms. Gee, I wonder if I can upgrade now? :teeth:

Are you trying to move to a different room still 1br or to a 2 br or Royal Suite I know those rarely cancel being that there are only 2 each. Did you find the post that showed your balcony? I don't know how the ride is in the back though. I know I don't like the slosh in the front myself.

I also saw that a cabins had begun to open up. I thought it was odd considering how booked it orginally was.
We are still waiting on our cabin number. I was able to book Palo dinner and brunch and a couple of spa appointments.
Now we are hopelessly waiting for something in the swim with dolphin excursion to open up.

Well not really "trying" we were more "hoping”. :wizard: We really wanted to splurge since it was going to be so close. I envy your 40 minutes from Port. So, since this was a rare occurrence for us, we tried booking a Cat 2 but they didn’t have any available on any of the west coast cruises. It would be cool if we could, but by no means are we disappointed! We’re just SO thrilled to be going!
I couldn’t find the picture, I thought I was in the right place but post #214 was Veranda Mans signature picture and it’s with the Captain on the bridge, so I don’t think I was in the right place.
I’ve heard that aft is a great place to be, that it’s really quite and calmer. I did read one complaint about water pressure. Hopefully that won’t be a problem though and with as early as my DD 2 goes to sleep, quiet is good!

If you go back to the druise forum page and go into the live from repo the picture is on posting from buzzman #212 AND 214. Now I am so bummed that brunch reservations are full. We will have to go stand by on that. Sounds like there are many new things going on on board.I don't know if that is because of it being a 14 day cruise or if we will get all the new stuff too. (New shows, new menus)Seeing the live images today got me so excited.
By the way, we ate our words tonight about the parks being empty. We decided to go to MK and it looked like a holiday. Filled to overflowing. :sad2:

So, I was thinking, (a dangerous past time, I know) since we seem to be such a small group - only 5 or 6 staterooms - that instead of playing room tag we should do something a bit different. If each stateroom, made or bought (nothing too expensive) a magnet for each of the other staterooms, then we could leave them on the doors. This way when we leave we'll each have a set of magnet keepsakes to remember our great time. Also it might be fun to try and guess which stateroom had made which magnets. What do you think? :Pinkbounc

Hey you guys I was trying to find a place where we could get tshirts done. Check out www.DisneyInkShop.com If we could just decide on a color and wording everyone could order their own in the sizes needed but they are pricier than ordering alll together.

I heard that someone died on castaway Cay. How horrible!! The poor family. Any news on how?
Thanks for offering to get stuff at DW. I hadn't really thought about it.
I want to play the "new" or old game too. I just don't have a room number.

I had also heard of the tragedy on CC. My heart goes out to the family and my thoughts are with them in this trying time. It's so heartbreaking to think about. :grouphug:
I’ve started working on the magnet for the tag game. I’m thinking about putting the stateroom numbers right on the magnet so we won’t have to look them up. Poohs4me we can add your stateroom number as soon as you know it. I’m bringing along a marker so we can add anyone who doesn’t have a room designation until check-in.
I probably won’t be able to do the t-shirts. I’m a bit past my budget on clothes. A couple of weeks ago I went to DisneyDirect.com and bought us a couple of t-shirts each, as well as their personalized one – which turned out really cute. BTW, they have their cute beach towels for sale. I did LOVE that website for t-shirts - I wish I had known about it a few weeks ago.
I could probably do bandanas or something like that though – or even wrist bands. Has everyone seen those LiveStrong wrist bands? They are waterproof, sweatproof, and masculine enough for the guys also. Also, if you buy them direct from livestrong.org the money goes to charity – which is nice. They are only a dollar apiece but you have to buy in a pack. Of course Ebay has them also. Just some other ideas.
I’m just so new to this I don’t even have any ideas of what to do. I tried looking at other meets to get some ideas, but I didn’t really have the time, so I haven’t made it very far in my research. Do we have veteran Disers on our cruise? What have you done in the past? What other ideas have you read about? Anyone? :scratchin

I just read in one thread they all went to Home Depot which has the Mickey paint and got a green paint chip card and used them like placard or name tags. I guess that is to recognize each other in line. I am new to DIS boards since our last cruise too so I am clueless. I did email wrh3md to see if they knew how to organize this stuff. I like the idea of something smaller that we could wear even if we are off on shore to recognize each other. Tshirts look nice but are pricier for families and once they are dirty forget it. I kinda like the Livestrong bracelet idea my sons love them.
Poohs4me where are you located in Florida. When are you going to fly out to CA? We fly out on Friday afternoon.

Hey this is the deadest thread of any of the upcoming cruises in the next month. I really don't understand.
I have no idea but it was just a guess maybe they have the plastic thing like we use for volunteers at my kids school and slip it in there?????????
I posted a help on 2 threads that seem to have a lot of organization for help in what to do.
I guess we can definitely plan on meeting up at the Mickey pool after boarding. Maybe we can all meet for Sail Away Deck Party. That is one of my favorite things.

I know what you mean. Truthfully, I'm starting to get discouraged because the thread is so dead. I almost feel like giving up.
The lanyard thing works for me. Where again did you say the paint chip things were. Was it Home Depot?
We'll be headed to the Mickey pool first thing after boarding and the Sail Away sounds fun. Is it usually a BIG crowd? Do we pick some sort of meeting area so we can find each other?

Good to get you back addicted to checking those threads. I think we should say as you look at the stage the right side close to the stage with our lanyards on. Course if you are near the Mickey pool before boat drill we will be hanging out if room allows.
What time is everyone going to port. I don't guess anyone knows how San Pedro will handle boarding but the last time we arrived at 11:00 and the line was curved around and around. 100s of people there. I think they were already boarding it was just backed up/ We were going to leave from the airport area around 9:20.
I know MousseauMob is staying over at Hyatt?

Normally from Pensacola, right now I am temporarily in Arizona, so we are going to drive out on Friday, which also brings me to my availability posting. It seems by the time I get to post everyone is gone.
I also like the laynard thing. I do not know if I the home depot nearby has any of the right shade of green though. I will have to check.
I am not sure about meeting at the sailway party. There is so much activity going on that we might miss someone, plus I always lose my boyfriend (he loves watching the ship cast off).

According to Disney, the transfers from the Resort Hotels are are supposed to start leaving for the port at either 10:00 or 10:30 (:confused3 can't remember and I am not at home to look at my papers). We plan on being on the first shuttle. We want to get on board as soon as possible. We have only been on The Wonder so we want to be able to explore as much as possible.

I also like the laynard thing. I do not know if I the home depot nearby has any of the right shade of green though. I will have to check.
I am not sure about meeting at the sailway party. There is so much activity going on that we might miss someone, plus I always lose my boyfriend (he loves watching the ship cast off).
We can pick some paint chips up for you if need them. We have several Home Depot's near us.
Also what about meeting at a specific time after Sail away??

I hope the people on the May 28th cruise provide some live reports, so we can gauge when they will start checking people in. I would hate to get there too late, but I also don't want to be all by myself waiting in line.

Hey everybody! I'm new to the Disboards since my last cruise too. I like the idea of meeting, but have no clue about the games you guys are talking about. Can someone fill me in? I'm actually leaving NC on Thursday afternoon. I'm planning a LA excursion Friday since I've never been. I like the idea of door magnets as well. Can't wait to be there!! :flower:

Thanks! I've seen this thread before...lots of good information! I can't wait to hear the live posts from the May 28th cruise. That way we can actually get an idea of what to expect at the port. Like Mickeyfan66 said we are going to get on the first shuttle from PP to the port. We've heard that they start leaving the Dland resort at 10am.....
It's just around the corner!!!! :cool1:

I think the problem is: Most of us are newbies. But, we've been reading the other threads to come up with ideas. I'm going to do a room tag game. I'm making a magnet and will put it on a fellow disers door when we arrive. When that person has discovered it, they will put it on another door etc. I'm hoping to have the list of staterooms on the tag so we know the numbers to take it to. Do you know your stateroom number yet?
It's amazing all the things some of the other groups are planning. The repo cruise has been talking about little gifts everyday - I have no idea how they are doing this. Also, the May 28th cruise is planning Champagne, Beer, and Wine tasting parties. As well as I saw something about a basketball game. I'm considering hosting a party - but I have to talk to DH first :love2: . I'm not sure I can talk him into it but I'm going to try.

I like the idea of meeting, but have no clue about the games you guys are talking about. Can someone fill me in?
I may be wrong, so someone please correct me if I am. As I understand it, there is a magnet with everyone's user name and stateroom number on it. It is then placed on one of the doors like you would "tag" someone. Then you take it and try and "tag" another door with the magnet. However, the goal is to not be seen while doing this. Have I got this correct?
windermerejudy
05-16-2005, 11:40 PM
You are correct. See guys now we got it going here. MousseauMob is right I think we are all newbies so its the blind leading the blind (I guess that makes us 3+ blind mice as in Mickey)
I tend to be kind of a spur of the moment girl on vacation but there are some definites:
Mickey Pool 11:30 or so
Boat Drill 4:00?
Sail Away 5:00 or so it may start before this Meet right hand side near stage. Come ready to party and dance, jump, sing and cry when they play the horn. For you guys who haven't been before, this is a interactive dance character show.Bring video cameras and enjoy your kids faces.
Dinner 6:00
Show 8:30 Welcome aboard variety show. Brand new on our Xmas cruise awesome with characters. We could meet on right side of Walt Disney Theatre.
I will tell you I am not usually a person to play bingo but when we went at Xmas we took my mom and I went with her to play everyday. The bingo staff is hilarious fun and they get to know you throughout the cruise. I won $100 about day 4 but being that it was a 10 day cruise the jackpot accumulated to be around $8000. "Trust me it is a wild party time. I also love the Trivia challenges. Between all of our careers, we are bound to have the bases covered.
If you guys go over to Cruisetoberfest Papa wrote us advice about what we should be doing.

Ok so now what did we decide to do for embarkation. Sounds like you DL crew won't arrive until 11. Mickey pool maybe the first time we meet up. We will be the ones with the white towels LOL. :rotfl:
I am not sure if we should count some of these people in our numbers or not. Some of these names were fromfirst thread and they may have even canceled. What do you say we just go on who has posted here since this is current. I hate to bring something for someone who doesn't exist.

That's a good idea. We should go by this thread... We are hoping that we won't hit too much traffic on the way to the port from Anaheim. What time do you think that they will start boarding? So we will meet up at the Mickey Pool at what time????

I LOVE the idea of bringing something from our state for everyone. I'm in Utah, so should I bring a couple of extra wives for everyone? :earseek: kidding!
I also think we should update our list on who has posted recently. It sounds like the May repo cruise has something on their door to leave little gifts in. Unless I totally misunderstood the description. Maybe they are just leaving them on the floor in front of the door. :confused3
I read somewhere we can't board until 1:00. I have no idea if this is true or not, but if so I'm going to have to take the kids to eat before heading to the Mickey pool. But then we'll definitely be there - and what a coincidence - we'll have white towels also. :rotfl2:

I private messaged a couple of folks to see if they were going. Heard back from jmatias and they are out. We will miss you. Viking is emailing me some forms that they have used for Cruisetoberfest. I appreciate your alls help to us newbies. We have to be taught all these tag fairy things. I will let you guys know what info to email me so I can print it out before our cruise.
I know personally we are arriving at about 10:30. I anticipate 11:00 for embarkation. We usually rush to the lounge to get Palos resies and since we were unable to get brunch via internet we willl do tht againl Then we usually begin our eating fest by going to Beach Blanket Buffet for lunch usually sitting to side out by pool to eat so kids who always finish first can go start to play and then we will be at the pool until they kick us out.
It seems like the last cruise they had moved boat drills up an hour. I can't remember. All I CAN remember is it came way too quickly. I know they let us down to our cabins at 1:00 and our luggage was already there so we unpacked a little before boat drill.
Mousseau Mob-- they organized a pub crawl on the next cruise so that everyone could see all the categories of rooms represented. So far I think we only have 2 but don't feel like you have to host a party there. There are so many good places to meet up if you aren't sure. I would love to see a 1 br though at some time. I can't wait to experience your first time awe with you. Your mouth is going to be on the floor atleast half of the cruise. Course we don't know what they are going to do with Poohs4me. WindermereJudy I just read the replies to you cruisetoberfest question, and I like the logo idea. As long as I'm printing the tag game magnet, I'd be happy to print us each a logo magnet as a keepsake. Does anyone what to design it? Oh I must have been confused, maybe it was the stateroom availability that I read was at 1:00pm. We'll meet you at Mickey's pool. We may eat in Parrot Cay when we board. I'm worried if I go straight to the pool, my kids won't eat. They're already going to be so excited they are bouncing off the walls. :Pinkbounc But, if you're going for ressies first thing, we shouldn't be too far behind you at the pool. My DD 2 is SO excited she tells everyone she talkes to and asks them to come with us. She truly is on :cloud9:
I think you're right, my jaw is going to drop constantly! The only cruise we've ever done was a decade ago on The Big Red Boat by Premier (I don't think they are in business any longer) and it was a REALLY old ship. It was nice, but nowhere near the cruise ships of today and definitely not "Disney". Just the pictures I've seen have left me in awe! I also read about the pub crawl, but so far I think we're all on decks 7 and 8 - so all our rooms should be similar shouldn't they? :confused3 In any case I'd be happy to show anyone the 1 br if they are interested at anytime. I'd love to get a peek at a Royal Suite. :earseek:
I keep thinking the Cove Cafe is going to be one of my favorite places. Cafe Mocha in the mornings or evenings... yum!

Oh the picture idea sounds really cute. The messages idea is also great. A sticky pad (post it's) would probably work also. Ok guys I have raided the dollar store today trying to find dry erase minis for each door. I will also make the signs for everyone's doors if they will email me a picture of themselves /family. Don't worry no reason to feel unsafe about having your picture on your door. We kind of enjoyed seeing who was on our hall even though we did not have one.
Scavenger hunt sounds fun. There ws one event they had a few cruises ago that was so very fun and we waited for it on 10 day and they never had it. I willl have to look back and see what the official name was but everyone was in the lounge and they would call out something you had to have like a MM sticker and everyone would run up and gain points for their team for having those items. Obviously many had played before because we had nothing and some came with a bag of props. We still had a blast so we will all have to keep our eyes open for that.

I too like the idea of the Post-It Notes. Diznefan76 ~ 1 more thing to add to the weekend Target list for the Cruise.
No Lime Green Shirt, but we do have our Lime Green Mickey Heads from Home Depot! If anyone needs them, just let us know before the end of the month how many you need (we leave early on June 1st) and we will be happy to get them.
So is the plan to meet at the Mickey Pool at 1:00 if possible then for sure the Deck Party?
Has anyone done to Palo Brunch before? We are going on Friday for Brunch but decided not to dinner as we didn't want to miss anything in the dinning rooms. What seating do you all have for dinner. We decided to go to the late seating as we have no kids and don't want to feel rushed on Port Days.

We have early seating. It is a huge debate. Late is nice to not rush back to but early is nice for kids. The one time we had late they were all asleep at the table everynight (Hey considering --that may not be a bad thing. )

I loved the dinner at Palos until this last time when we went to Brunch. It is heavenly. The only down side is after the mimosas and heavy food all you want to do the rest of the day is lay on the lounge chair. So many delicious things. That is definitely where they hide the good food. They have this stolenbread that they talk you into preparing with jam, berries and whipped cream. I thought the filet was better than in the evening. I am sold. We did not even try for evening resies so not to miss the theme dinners. You know they now have table service in topsiders at night. You can go anytime you like. It was quick and had some of the stuff from downstairs. We missed dinner one night due to a late arriving shore excursion. Maybe we will shoot for Friday if they have anything left once on board.
What shore excursions are you guys doing?

Wow! Teach all day and this board comes alive. Amazing what a few hours will do. I THINK I can meet at the Mickey pool at 1pm. The first thing I plan to do when I get on board is which my dining time. We got waitlisted for early seating. We are currently on 2nd seating dining. I've had that one time and did not like it at all. Besides living in NC, if I have late seating dining that's like eating at 11:30pm here. NO thanks. I just hope I can get it switched. Probably stupid question, but which side is the right side of the stage. Is that the right as you are looking at the stage from the back of the pool? Just making sure I was on the right, right side. :)
My stateroom is 7000. There will only be 2 of us in our room. Two teachers that are celebrating the end of school!
We are doing the city tour in PV. We are taking in the beach escape in Mazatlan. We had to do that since we don't have a Castaway Cay day. We don't have anything scheduled in Cabo yet. That might be the main shopping day! :teeth: We also booked brunch but ours is on Sunday. I know that is formal night...hoping that is our only other meal for the day.

A couple of more questions: Do we know how many staterooms we actually have yet? Just wondering how many NC things to pick up. I'd love to smuggle one of our soft drinks, Cheerwine on board for y'all. But I don't think I'm going to risk putting them in my suitcase to fly across country just to have them explode and ruin my clothes. :)
This is more of a comment than a question, but if anyone IS staying in a one, two bedroom I would love to take a look! I've only seen those on the virtual tour. I would like to take a 'real' tour if possible. :cool1:

There is a thread about Mexico excursions talking specifically on El Cid Castilla allowing you to come use facilities as long as you consume their food. Nice pool and beach but being that you are ALL going on the beach break we may just have to do it too.
LOL tarheel girl just what a couple of teachers want is kids around when they get out of school. I know you'll be by Quite Cove not Mickey Pool.
Mousseau what do you do (deployment) military?
As for myself, I ran an Emergency Room until I had kids, now I stay at home with them and volunteer in my son's school atleast one day a week. DH is ENT physician.

MickeyFan66 and Diznefan76 thankyou for the photo it was awesome. I was going to use one of our photos form xmas. BTW Mousseau are you the only 1st timer? Well I will tell you one piece of advice about the ship photographers. Buy the photo package. I always end up leaving the ship with atleast 10 of their pics. They are awesome. Much better in my mind that any professional sitting. All of our best pics in our house have come from DCL.
Any golfers? Mousseau what about your DH? We do not. We wanted to do the deep sea fishing too but kids not old enough. We may do the harbor cruise though. I love sea lions. It is so hard to know which excursions to go on since we are the 2nd batch of guinea pigs.
Okay so tonight over Chipotle grill tacos we decided to rebook western for April 8th (kids are out) . My kids really loved stingray city and want to go back. I guess that is if hurricane season is kind to GC. Other than that swapping for Costa Maya they are the same.

As for myself, I ran an Emergency Room until I had kids, now I stay at home with them and volunteer in my son's school atleast one day a week. DH is ENT physician.
No not military, although my DH was in the air force when we met. He now stays home with the kiddies. My deployment was of software. I'm a software engineer. Any self-respecting military would throw me out because I would be analyzing and questioning every order. :rotfl2: I analyze EVERYTHING, I can't stop, it's a sickness it's a curse! Now that I've exposed my character flaws, I hope you will all still talk to me.

Thanks for the tip on the photo package, we will definitely look into them, even if I do hate my self in photos. :earboy2:
That's why we're splitting up in Cabo. DH really wanted to go deep sea fishing, but our kids are too young also. We're trading, I'll have the kids in Cabo so he can go fishing, and he's responsible for them on Monday when I'm at the spa. I also, really wanted to go to Los Arcos (lovers beach, I think), but I didn't think my little one would do well on the boat ride over.
We don't golf either, although for some reason my DS 9 has decided he loves it and is always bugging me to take him. He's had one lesson and we've only played twice, but he always wants to go.

Yes you get charged the $10pp Palo fee and then whatever you drink and tip. You get a bill at the end for charging to your room.
I was just remembering that last time the left side of the stage at Sail away had noone on it. Go to the least crowded side and look for the green Mickey tags. I don't dare where we go just so we have room to do "Stomp", "Hey Baby" "Upside down dancin on the ceiling" ...
MousseauMob is your DD2 closer to 2 or 3.My little Cinderella will be 3 in July. princess:

My little princess will be 3 in July also! She LOVES dressing up and wearing dresses, so I'm going to go see if I can find her a princess character dress in her size. Last time I looked I couldn't find one, the smallest was a 3. She's on the small side and is only in a 2T so send me some pixie dust in the hopes that I find one. :wizard:

Let me know if you cannot find one. Thew huge World of Disney store down here has their own really nice ones. Blake has Cinderella, Tink, Snow White, and Minnie all in 2-4. She can dress up like whoever is having a photo op and they look so cute together.
They should be great playmates then. I was so heartbroken the other night. MyDS5 and she were playing in the closet and she came out with a clump right in the front cut out of her long hair.

Thanks so much for the offer! I'll let you know. Having the character dress for the photo ops is an adorable idea. Is Blake her name? How cute!
That's so sad about her hair. Did they cut it? Are you going to have to cut it now so it's all even? Sydney's hair is short, she refuses to have anything in it, so it's just easier to have it short and out of her eyes.

You know we have never eaten lunch in a restaurant only buffets entire time on board. I guess I figure if I'm going to confine my kids for a 2 hr. meal at night, we should make lunch fast. We always shoot for breakfast and lunch at Topsiders, I personally like to get out by the Mickey Pool while there are still chairs.
Our last cruise it was so cold that noone wanted to get in the pool only the jacuzzis. Our CC day they had lost their predator nets and had 2 sharks in the lagoon so they would not allow anyone in but honestly it was so cold and windy I am not sure if I would have anyway.

 Well, we have the princess dresses. We couldn't decide between the Snow White and Cinderella so we got both. Which is funny because I thought she was going to go for the sleeping beauty. They are a 3 and big, but she's not tripping over them (like she was last time) and this way she'll be able to wear it longer.
We had planned on eating in Parrot Cay when we arrived, but I hadn't thought about the need to hit the pool to get chairs. :scratchin I may have to rethink this.
Gift exchange or gifts for all is fine with me. I'm happy with whatever is decided on. Oh heck, I'm just so excited to be going, I don't care what we do. The excitement is killing me. :Pinkbounc

From the May Repo Cruise Blog at http://www.comstation.com/cruise/
Quote:
News Flash, really funny
There is a passenger here onboard that had t shirts flown in to Curacao in the matter of a day and a half, they say,
Disney Cruise—$8,000
Logo T Shirt—-Sold Out
Waiting in Line Sleeping on Floor
PRICELESS
Now if this guy can do this with Fed Ex in the matter of days why cannot Disney do this with their own t shirts and pins. I think they need to hire this guy for their purchases or at least delievery. Now we will work on the pins next,,,,
If you read the blog he also mentioned that Roy Disney and Eisner were getting on the ship in Cabo and sailing to LA. That should make for some interesting fireworks! :rolleyes1

They ae so lucky to have Taylor Mason. Have you all seen him? He has been on almost all our cruises coincidentally. I laugh so hard I can hardly breathe. I love reading all their excitement. Eisner and Roy should make for interesting news. Guess we know whos in the Roy and Walt Disney Suites.

Anyone have any ideas since we have never done this to know what people normally would give? Pins, keychains...that sort of trinket or ???

I'm not sure what other's have given before....I'm new at this too...but i'm sure that we could just give little trinkets that represent our state..at least that's what we were thinking.
I'm not necessarily a fanatic when it comes to pin collecting but i do have a few. I definently plan on getting one when we are in Dland for the celebration! and of course the golden mickey ears! :rotfl2:

I like the idea of the 'state' trinkets...even though I am still thinking as to what it should be from NC. I'm also not a big pin person but have a few around a picture. I bought a corked frame at MK probably 4 or 5 years ago. Holds pins very nicely.
Whatever we do, are we going to bring something for each stateroom? I really like that idea since we are such a small group. What do you all think?

Since we are such a small group, I think we should do the one per person/group also. I say person/group because, don't we have a couple of staterooms that are being shared by friends?
This is what I was thinking for gifts: I bought these little stick up plush disney characters (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto) that I was going to give to the kids. They are really small and cute with velcro sticky back so they can put them on a backpack or something. Then I was also going to get some local salt water taffy made from salt from the Great Salt Lake for each stateroom - or per person/group. I'm also considering key chains or something for the adults - if I see something I like. Anyway, that's my ideas at this point, but I'm open for suggestions. If we do the gift exchange I have a different idea for the gift.
I made it to the Home Depot today and picked up our green mickey head for our lanyard. So I'm all set, except the gift shopping!
We're not big into pins either, although I do have a few. I love the cork frame idea, I'm going to have to do that so my pins aren't just sitting in a drawer.
Off the top of my head, other small gift ideas I can think of are:
Small picture frames
Pen (instead of pins... :rotfl: )
Key chains
Magnets
Pirate gear (little things like eye patches or bandana's etc.) pirate:
Stickers (does anyone else scrapbook?)
DW or DL small souveniers

On the transportation for the excursions what do you do with the little ones and a car seat! I'm quite nervous about this because most cabs I've taken the drivers drive VERY fast. I understand their motivation, since the faster they get you to your destination the faster they can move on to their next fare, but it really stresses me out.

On the subject of car seats. I have never taken one. Most of the time it is a bus with no seatbelts anyway. I hate to say "You'll be okay" but you will.
I personally think since it is only the 5 groups that if you are going to consider my mom a seperate entity then certainly you both should be counted. There really is no difference since my mom is part of our group too.

Cruisers if you can PM me your email, I will send you a page that I threw together with everyones pictures on it.
First you have to upload your pictures to a site that will let you link to them. You can use http://photobucket.com its a free service that you sign up for and they will send you and email that you activate. Once you've done that, you upload the pictures you want. Then with in a message you're sending you can insert an image, which gives you a pop-up and from there paste in the URL that photobucket displays for the photo you uploaded.
Hope this helps.

I notice several boys. Do any of the 8-9 year old boys like to play with 9 year old girls? My daughter 9 is some what of a tomboy and has more male friends than female friends at school. She likes Legos and computer games.
We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel prior to the cruise and taking Super Shuttle.

I"M SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!! Skeegan is back in. Yeah. We thought maybe your plans had changed. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I don't know if you got caught up but here it is in a nut shell:
We are all staying all over the place and coming in at different times.
Noone else has really said when they are leaving but we are leaving for the airport at 9:20 per Super Shuttle as well. We are hoping to be there around 10:30. Embarkation we are guessing is at 11:00. If we can find each other in line that would be great. The means for recognizing us at this point is a lime green home depot paint chip placed in a lanyard. Does anyone need a lanyard or plastic thing for the bottom?
Once inside, the plan is to clear up what unmade ressies and dining changes we have. I wonder if we could request to sit near each other ? After that is a rapid lunch at Beach Blanket Buffet for us so we can get a place to sit at the Mickey Pool. We should be hanging out there most of the day. I at some point between time we can get into rooms and boat drill like unpacking so its done. Boat drill (big sigh) and then my favorite part of the cruise----Sail away Party. We definitely want the kids to meet up there.Wear lime green if you have it or your lanyard. We have a door magnet for tag fairy made by MousseauMob and I am making door signs for all with a picture of your family so if you could email me one and leave your email address and I will return a compilation of all the cruisers thus far. We are collecting trinkets for surprises to be left at our doors. The metal fish outside the door is approx 4 inches maybe 3. its clibboard style. I may put my mom on this one. She sews and could probably make a pocket and we could put magnets on the back. Did I miss anything?????
I know my son likes to play with everyone. He is very sweet and kind. It sounds like MousseauMob's son likes everyone too. Poohs4me has to tell us more about her "stepdaughter". I think she is 8. That means they will all be in lab together. They should have fun. I think bearjon had a daughter 15 but they choose not to be a part of us. I guess it was our poor sense of humor. :rotfl:
Poohs4me I don't have your cabin number. Do you not have one YET?
List is this:
windermerejudy (Judy, Dale Drew8, Dane5, Blake Ellise2 GMJeanne) 8564/7570
MousseauMob (Tim, Ellen, Bryce9, Sydney2)------------------------8100
Skeegan (DW, DH, DS16, DD9) ------------------------------------7574
MickeyFan66?Diznefan76 (Elizabeth, Janese)------------------------7125
tarheel_girl (Sherry, Pam)------------------------------------------7000
poohs4me (DD9)--------------------------------------------------?????
I only need poohs4me, and skeegan's photos and we will be done. Unless we find others... Skeegan so good to have you back.

Oh I HAD to share. I'm working on our door decorations and I found a really cute Mickey (in a green shirt) at the computer and I had to add the text Dis Member Onboard. I'd love to hear what you think about him.

Also, here is the magnet for Stateroom Tag. Any ideas, comments, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just realized my last message was misleading. When I said I was working on our door decorations, I meant my own door decorations. Judy is doing our wonderful Dis member picture decorations for everyone. For which she deserves a great deal of appreciation and thanks. As well as for being list keeper and chief organizer for our rag-tag group. :grouphug:

Ok fellow scrapbookers I just wanted to share some sites I had for disney clip art and fonts. The fonts are cool - they have Disneyland and Walt's signature font as well as a number of others.

http://hometown.aol.com/TendrHart/tndrhart.html

Even if you don't scrapbook, the last site has coloring pages for the kids.

Hi guys. I ve been out shopping for the gift fairy and we found exciting things. Yes I too am excited about going every time it doesn't go away. I still get tears in my eyes at watching my childrens faces and hearing the Mickey horn and especially at the characters final farewell---call me silly. I get excited to go down to the parks. I am not sure who wants to go more, me or my kids.
Yes, MousseauMob I would love to use the Mickey at the computer on our signs. Could you please send it to me? You computer people are so much better at all of this than I am. I watch the panama canal video and I realize how computer illiterate I am. It would take me a month to figure out how to do that, if I ever did.
I want to find this secret balcony they all talk about. I've never seen it.

I emailed you the image. Let me know if there's anything else you'd like me to do.
Wasn't the Panama Canal video awesome! I loved it and so did the family. DD2 especially loved seeing Captain Mickey and DS9 enjoyed watching how they raise and lower the ship through the locks.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one that gets a bit weepy - I can't help it and the older I get the more sentimental I get.

It is so quiet today here on our thread. What is everyone up to? As for us, just got home from church and eating and we are trying to get 3 monkeys to bed. We had a close call---the school nurse called me Friday to pick up my oldest because he felt like he was going to throw up.Luckily he never did. On the way home from school Friday I was counting how many days it would take to make its way through our entire family. I don't want to spend another cruise sick.
See you tomorrow (Well--- chat with you tomorrow, see ya' in 14 more days.)

Hey Everybody! Got a gift fairy question. Are we doing a gift per stateroom or per family, or per guest? I FINALLY found what I'm going to bring. I just need to know how many to buy.
I love the magnet!! Judy, when you emailed me the pictures all I got was an X. :) Do you mind resending them to me? It's probably my email, but I'd like to try one more time. Thanks! As far as leaving for the port, I plan to be on the first shuttle from the airport. I want to get to the port as early as possible.

Skeegan, what we had decided to do is to have little "pockets" on our doors (BTW my mom volunteered to make those-- we were still looking for them til today) and the "gift fairy would drop little things off occasionally. I got little things. Trinkets. If there is something from your hometown that is neat, little candies, ...It is just for fun.
Pirate night--- I have decorations for pirate night for our door. fUsually people wear tropical attire or a pirate tshirt. The wait staff gives out pirate bandanas. I got the kids light up swords if they survive that long. Lots of black, red, and white. There are also plenty of people that do not dress up too.
I heard the Golden Mickeys is the 2nd night which seems weird to me but we might like to take a group photo when we are all dressed up.

Judy, tell your mom...THANK YOU!!!!! How sweet of her to make those for us! Also, I think that it's a great idea for us to take a group photo on Formal night! I LOVE that idea!
By the way, have we come up with a cute slogan for our cruise??? For instance the May repo cruise is "Kingdom to Kingdom..." What shall we call our cruise?? The only thing that I could come up with was "Cruisin' with Mickey..West Coast style"...kinda corny but what do you guys think???? Also, is someone making our lanyard tags? or are we making our own?
dizneykids
05-22-2005, 08:45 PM
...so I quit coming over to the cruise meets. Seems like that was a big mistake!
Let me introduce us...I'm dizneykids (so named because I used to be an assistant sysop on Expedia's Themeparks board and ran a Sunday night chat on travelling to Disney with Kids), Beth to most of my friends; DH, Tim (not Tom...I'm working with a soft cast on my right hand and am having trouble typing well!); and 3 DS...Sean, who'll turn 13 the day after we board, Colin, 11 1/2 and Liam, 6 1/2. Also travelling are our mothers, Maurine (mine) and Shirlee (Tim's). We are in a cat 4, they are in a cat 3; 8538 and 8534 respectively. We decided to do this quite last-minute, so we didn't get our usual stateroom...we've had the Walt Suite on our last three cruises. It's going to be hard adjusting back to a cat 4! Seriously, I'm sure we can do something so those who want to see the 1br can. We're still holding our breath that our dear DCL agent finds us another 1br or better, but I suspect we've run out of time.
We've been on the cruise several times...I think this is number 7 or so. Last time was 2003. That's the photo I plan to send you, Judy...us on formal night. I need DH to work on connecting me back up to my external hard drive. I've tried in the past to set up DIS meets and have never had a whole lot of success. Last time was probably our best with meeting up with over 10 families off and on. We did have a wine&cheese party one afternoon in the suite. After that, we'd run into each other, but nothing planned.
I love the idea of the magnet tag. I wonder, though, if it will survive... will a non-DISer like it so much they decide to keep it? Same with the bags and goodies. I've seen (and had) things taken in the past.
One thing we did for the last cruise was a private website for our cruisers only on MSN. We set up a spreadsheet for people to log in their excursions, seating times, etc. It also allowed for private posting of pics for those of us squeamish about posting a picture for the whole web to see. If y'all want, I can replicate it for us. It would be by invitation only, so I'd need y'all's emails.
Another idea for the Mickey paint chips...you can buy self-adhesive pinbacks at Michaels, if you don't like wearing a lanyard.
As for a slogan...I'm planning on putting together t-shirts for our family with "California cruising...Disney-style". I don't mind sharing.
Sorry I've not been here before now. If I can answer any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
windermerejudy
05-22-2005, 11:42 PM
Me too. It was a long time before I checked back in because everytime I came noone had posted. I am so glad we found a group.
In regards to making our own lanyard tags---please explain what you mean. What are we doing with our home depot mickeys? I am lost again. I amy get the self adhesive pins.I am also wearing a disney shirt I have that is lime green. I loved the DIS merchandise but I am not sure there is enough time left. The only slogan I came up with was "Disney Cruisin' in June to a Mexican Tune"
I hope we end up doing more than seeing each other in passing. I just did not want to make further plans since we have no idea of scheduling on board. I guess we will know more next week.
Can we go over again who is on ist and 2nd seating? I know WJ is 1, MM 1,
MF/DF 2? tarHG 2...

Dizneykids... Glad you could join us.
Judy, can't beleive your mom agreed to make the door bags for us. Tell her Thanks for us. Thanks for the info on Pirate Night. Not sure what I'm going to do for that one yet. Maybe I will have to buy something from Pirates in Disneyland. :cool1:
If I counted correctly we are now at 9 staterooms. It looks like we are mostly on decks 7 & 8 so trying to play tag without getting caught could wind up being the challenge.
I can't wait to go. 14 Days from this very minute I will be in the dinning room for formal night (that is if the information from the boards about formal, semi-formal, and pirate nights are correct.)

For the lanyard tags I just made up a tag ( the size of the KTTW) with the mickey head on it. I just states my name/DIS name and the date! The pin idea is good too. That way if you don't want anything around your neck you can just put the pin on!!! Great idea diznekids!!!!!! :earboy2:
Judy- I LOVE your slogan!!! Should we use that???
Your right..we are on 2nd seating. Maybe after we have our 1st meeting (at sail away) we can plan a second get together. I hope that we can get together more than just the one time too.

It's by invitation only and is not listed in the Yahoo! Groups directory, which adds an additional layer of security. If you'd like to access the site, just pm me with your email address.
Judy, with this website, we can all go in and add our own information re: names, addresses, birthdates, etc. I'm not trying to usurp your role, just trying to make things easier for you. Workdays are finished....now I can really think about the cruise. Doing my 'summer laundry' right now. I'm just going to pack them as soon as the dryer goes off. Guess I'll have to continue to wear my teacher clothes for a couple of more days. :rotfl:
Someone tell me more about the iron-on transfers. Can you print those from the computer? Does Wal-Mart sell the paper that is needed? If not, where can I get it? Thanks for the info!!
windermerejudy

Walmart may sell it as well. I got it at Office Depot. I am going to try and put some time into designing something today. Walmart does however have the tshirts a beautiful lime green. Mens dept. not hanging but on a tall shelf--Fruit of the Loom (matching ones in the kids dept. too.)

Thanks for the info on the shirts/paper! I'll have to go today and get both. I own a lot of lime green, but it never hurts to have more. :goodvibes

I did get on the yahoo site and it is very cool and I love the area to add all of info except I ended it too soon and could not find an edit button so I am listed twice ---sorry guys. You should all sign in there because then we won't even have to take our information on board it will be waiting for us at home.

i deleted the first one which was incomplete. glad y'all like the site. we found this worked best on our last cruise because people posted pics of themselves so that we could recognize each other more easily from the start.
that said, i guess i better go add our picture...

windermerejudy,
I've used the Avery t-shirt transfers before and they turned out great. I just printed them on an ink-jet printer and ironed them on. Just be sure and follow the directions closely and they'll look great!
I've been meaning to ask is your DD2 potty trained? Our DD2 isn't, she did it once and danced around singing a song she made up about how everyone was so proud of her because she was a big girl, but then that was it. She no longer had any interest. I'm wondering how I'm going to be able to keep her in the Mickey ear at that Mickey pool that allows swim diapers unless she has a friend or someone else there.

Those of you that want to....are we designing our own shirts using the logo that Judy came up with or are we going to have one design that we can email to each other so that we all have the same? Also, tell me about the pin again. I really don't want to do the lanyard thing.(Have to do that at school) I re-read the posts, but evidently not too well because I didn't read where I could find these. Thanks for your help!! :flower:

Tarheelgirl...goodluck...lol :rotfl2:
Thanks I'll need it! I think the only thing getting her on a plane is knowing that she'll get to see our 'summer home' once we land. This has become a tradition since 2000 with us. As soon as school is over, we head for the Magic. I did ask her if we needed to be on separate flights. :teeth:

I believe that you can find the pin backings at any fabric store but also if you have a Michaels near you...then i'm sure that they would have some. I'm gonna bring both the lanyard and the pin. Depending on what I'm wearing will decide what which one I'll put on. I just don't know which one I'll wear...so I'll bring both! :teeth:

Hi guys. My tshirt thing came out very cute but I did make a couple of mistakes.
1. Cut off as much transfer as you can.
2.Make sure it is ironed on overly well. I did it like they said and they still were stuck to the paper.
3. Don't try to go back and fix it. That only makes it worse.
I am going to make another Walmart pit stop and replace a couple of my mistakes. Glad I only spent $3 per shirt.

Good Morning Everyone,
We are only 8 Days Out! I can't wait. Only 1 more day of work and I can get into vacation mode.

I keep picking up spyware somewhere that has had me cleaning the computer the last couple of days continually. I did visit alot of clip art sites that is the only place I have been other than here and yahoo board. Door signs are almost finished too.
Poohs4me----where are you? We need your cabin number, names, picture...
Tarheel girl---I will gladly trade you and fly with Megara and you can fly with the 8, 5, and 2 year old. The 8 and 5 are easy with gameboys and pixters, the 2 year old is constant attention. I am missing Port Canaveral already. It seems so bizarre for us to have to fly to DCL. Guess we are spoiled.
MousseauMob- As far as Blake is concerned withpotty training, she had been great until my fathers death and she regressed. I would have to say it is most of the time however we keep her in pull ups. She has swam in the Mickey pool everytime we have been. She would definitely not go potty in the poolhowever on the ship the bathrooms are rather hard to find for a 2 year old. She could have gone to kids club being that she is one month away from turning 3 however they can not wear pullups in there and I was afraid she would have an accident. Guess next time. You do know that when they have cute events in the club you can still go as a guest as long as you stay with them if they are not potty trained. They had a pretty cute dancing with Snow White that Blake and Iwent to., Flubber, pajama party with Pumbaa....

Ok guys....it's getting pretty close to that time were we will all be busy packing and getting ready to migrate to LA!!!! :moped: And I just want to verify a few things..
1. So we have established our first meeting will be on embarkation day at the Sail Away party right???
2.Did we decide if it was going to be on the right or left side of the stage??
3. Also, I know that it was mentioned before and I can't remember if anything was decided...Are we going to get a group photo?? Should it be on Formal night when everyone is all dressed up? or should we do thise on Pirate pirate: night???? What does everyone else think?
I'm sitting here at work...and I'm so excited about going I'm not getting anything done!!!...lol... :rotfl:

windermerejudy - I didn't know she could go to the club if I stayed with her. That's wonderful! I was wondering about it, because I can see how she would like to participate but I knew she couldn't attend because she wasn't potty trained yet. That's really great news, thank you!
diznefan76 - I have one question to add to yours. Are our little gifts to be annonymous? I'm trying to decide if I should print little cards/labels like: MousseauMob strikes again.
We're not going to be doing the t-shirt thing - I hope that's OK with everyone. I will have my lanyard though with the green mickey head from Home Depot.
It's probably just me, but I can't wait to try one of these: :mickeybar

1. Yes, our first 'official' meeting, but some of us will also meet by Mickey's pool in the afternoon of the first day.
2. I think we ended up with the less crowded with the speculation being the right side. My guess is we'll just congregate where the green t-shirts and lanyards are. :)
3. I think we said formal night, but pirate night would also be good. Of course I still have nothing together for pirate night... :sad2:

Right side facing the stage or the audience? :confused3
I vote for formal night on the group photo.

It does not matter on the side of the stage if someone gets there and there is noone on one particular side then the rest of us will find you.
You guys remember to take a jacket for those California evenings. (ok maybe not you WA gals , or Utah, maybe not even SC girls, ----but as for the rest of us it has been chilly in the evenings there.
We are probably going to raid Pirates of the Caribbean this weekend. My 5 yr old is the only one that is set for that. We have bandanas from a school party we did but will see what else we can find. It sure has caught on. At Xmas noone dressed up.
Yes the kids club has an open door philosophy. There is a schedule for each age level and you can go through and find all the play times, character events... My kids love the Lilo and Stitch dance party usually on the first night. There is also a ship type tree house with slides and bridges that they can play on when it is free play. You just tell them you are a visitor when you go to the desk. There are times for playdoh, finger painting, cars, drawing, ...The bigger kids have computer time, experiments, playstation, wacky races...
We will have to figure out how to get both dinner seatings in to a photo.

Mouseaumob- I Unless you want them to be anonymous then I think that we should say who our gifts are from. Although it would be kinda neat to try to figure out what state they are from!...lol
I too have nothing prepared for pirate night! I think that I will have to shop in New Orleans Square at the Pirates of the Caribbean shop in Dland!!!
Tarheelgirl-I say we take pictures on formal night too. And if we want to we can always take them on Pirate night too!!!

I'm sure that in between dinner and the shows that we can somehow get a picture in!!
Did any of you check out the Repo cruise thread? They had pictures of some people in their Pirate costumes and all I can say is WOW!!!...they looked like they just got out of wardrobe from Pirates of the Caribbean (the movie)!

I was on the Magic last October. There was no one but children dressed up for Pirate night. Looking at the repo pics though, I may be the only one NOT dressed this time. Can you imagine packing some of those costumes? Bet that took a lot of room in the suitcase!

Don't worry! I won't be dressed up like that either! I'm not gonna have any room in my luggage as it is...let alone enough to put a whole costume in there!!..lol :rotfl: I'll probably just wear the bandana and eye patch!!!

Glad to hear that I'm not going to be the only non-pirate on pirate night. It's strange to me that we're having a pirate night. Last time, it was called pirates IN the caribbean. We won't be in the caribbean but I guess they thought most people had experienced the tropical/mexican theme nights. It's a fun night regardless of where we'll be!

I didn't really want them to be anonymous, I kind of liked the idea of a little tag that said: MousseauMob Strikes Again! On the other hand, I also thought it might be fun to try and guess - although this might be really hard, as some of the stuff I have would be difficult or impossible to guess.
So what is everyone else doing - will you be tagging the gift fairy items, so we know who they are from?
