I have read that there are government discounts and think I have read something about dicounts for teachers. Does anyone know anything about this ? Thank you ! laura

Those discounts are only for room reservations and only at the Walt Disney World Swan or Dolphin Resorts. The Disney-owned resorts do not offer such discounts.

That is correct! The current rate for the year 2001 is $129 a night. If you go to the resort board, look for the swan and Dolphin FAQ. That will give you all the info you need!

We have stayed at the Radisson on Palm Parkway just outside of the West gate near Downtown Disney. The current government rate is $79.00 per night. The pool is really nice and the hotel is not bad either.
You might check some of the other chains to see if they offer government employee discounts, too.
