Ok I have the Mickey gloves, the blue hat now I found the right fabric for the cape, does anyone know where I can find a pattern??
My four year old really wants this costume for Halloween. Can anyone help. I know that I could just make a cape, but I was hoping for something closer to the doll.

Go to your local fabric store and look in the pattern books. The new ones for fall with the costumes are out already and they have some wonderful Disney ones out now! I didn't see Mickey, but I wasn't looking for him either, so he could have been in there. Good luck!

What a great idea for a Halloween costume - I love it!! :)
I think his cape is actually more like a cloak, isn't it? Since Harry Potter is so big now, I bet you could find a pattern for a cloak quite easily. I would imagine there are all kinds of Harry Potter costume patterns out there.
Good luck, and let us know how it turns out!

I'm looking for the very same thing! My 5 yr. old really wants to be Sorcerer Mickey too. I've already searched the internet, but no luck. I was hoping to find one at TDS(they have such nice, well made costumes), but no Sorcerer Mickey. If I have to, I'll just make the robe. I know I'll have no problem with the big glove hands, since I saw them everywhere last Halloween. I'm asking friends of ours to pick me up a sorcerers hat with the ears at Fantasmic. The big floppy brown shoes might be a problem. If anyone visiting the parks sees any part of this ensemble, please let us know.

I think it looks more like a robe with a gold braided tie than a cape. Would a pattern for a robe work? I don't sew, so I am looking for something ready made. If anyone finds a red velvet robe let me know! I would also like to have a pail for her trick or treat bucket (you know like the one Mickey used) any ideas on where to find one?
I thought her costume would be original this year. It sounds like lots of you had the same idea!

valeriekc, I love the bucket/treat bag idea! I'm going to use it too, if I can find a similar bucket. I have to watch Fantasia again to see what this bucket looks like. I thought it was a metal bucket, but not sure. As for the costume, I've emailed Disney, who did a merchandise search to see if an outfit existed, but they found nothing. I guess I'll buy a pattern for a robe costume( I remember looking at these when my son needed a wise man costume at Christmas)

I was telling my husband about this post and how I thought it would make a really cool costume and my son overheard. Now he REALLY wants to be Sorcerer Mickey for Halloween too! Guess who needs to find a costume NOW? LOL!
It's a good thing we're going to WDW in September so I can get the hat and the gloves! And I love the bucket idea too, isn't it a wooden bucket?
After Halloween we should all post the pictures of our very own Sorcerer Mickey's! :)

BethC, now that you mention it, I think it might be a wooden bucket. Lucky for you that you're going to WDW before Halloween. We go right after, but I have family and some neighbors who could pick things up for me if I need them to. The hat that they sell at Fantasmic is $30! It's a really nice hat, but at this rate, this costume is going to cost me a fortune! If anyone sees the hat for less, please post. Thanks.

Nickymouse, there is a complete Mickey Sorcerer's Apprentice Costume available from a company called Sensational Beginnings. They have a web site www.sb-kids.com. I haven't been here so I don't know if the Mickey costume is here or not, anyway it's $39.95 and comes with the hat, gloves, 2 piece robe and pant set and wand. It wouldn't work for me as my 9 year old will be wearing the costume and it's only available in 2-4 or 4-6. Also, we bought the hat and gloves last May at Disney, so I'm just looking for the robe and bucket. (I'd like to dress as a broom myself!) I don't sew, but still thought I would try to find a pattern and someone to make the robe. Does Disney have patterns? If anyone finds something let me know!

Just saw a picture in the Disney Magazine of a little boy wearing a Sorcerer costume. You might want to check it out. It might give you some ideas.

Valeriekc, thanks for the info! I think my son will be able to wear the size 4-6. You've saved me the trouble of having to make it.

I have been searching for costumes online this week and have seen this costume on several websites - unfortunately I didn't bookmark any of them. However, if you do a search for children's costumes you may be able to find is on another site.

Hi Guys, sorry my link was bad...I typed what was printed in the catalog, I guess I should have checked it myself before posting.
Has anyone found a robe/cape elsewhere? I already have the hat and gloves. I would love to hear if anyone found something.

My nephew has the hat, gloves and shoes. My SIL bought him a red robe to wear over his clothes. He wore long blue pants underneath just like Mickey. And BIL had a large yellow tassle as a belt. I have to admit it did look cute. But he was hot. He went trick or treating with my son at a campground last weekend.

The Mickey Sorcerer costume is on the cover of the Fall 2001 Sensational Beginnings catalog...
If you got the sb-kids.com site, and enter in the search field C15551 you will see the full costume for $39.95
