We'll be there. We rebooked onboard during the 10 day Holiday cruise. There will be:
Mike (aka ohiomickey)
Karen (aka ohiominnie)
KT dd--11 at cruise time
Nick ds--turns 9 on 1/5/06
We'll be in a cat 6, deck 6 midship-ish area, but can't remember what number.
Also sailing with us will be my parents, Dick and Fran, on their third Disney cruise. They will be next door (but not connecting)
Looking forward to getting our group going. We had about 150 of us from the 10 day thread and we had a BLAST mostly b/c of all the other ppl we knew and did things with!

Hi All,
I just booked the Magic Eastern 1/7/06 for my 2 kids--dd 10 and ds 4-- and my mom and me. I took the kids to DW last Christmas for 10 days and we had a blast, but as a single mom, I felt a little frantic by the end of the vacation. I'm hoping the DC will give us lots of fun family time, but a little more "mom relaxation time" than WDW alllows!

**Bump**
Griffin33,
We are staying overnight at the Radisson near the port. We stayed there last year and had a nice time. We fell asleep early because we had gotten up at 3:00 AM for a 4:30 AM pick up for a 6:30 flight! We wanted to get in early to see friends who live in Celebration. I just booked our flight for January and we are on a 7:00 AM flight on Friday so that we can visit with the same friends again. :cool1:
We liked being able to get up and to the terminal early to walk around and relax. Also with flying out of NY in January, who knows what the weather will be like. Flying in the same day as departure leaves no room for delays! :confused3
How is everyone doing with all this hurricane news? I hope that everyone here and their families are safe and well.

Booked my Palo reservations today. Last time we made the mistake of doing Palo dinner the night before Palo brunch....it was too much too close together. This time I decided to do Palo brunch on the second day at sea (Monday) and dinner on Wednesday night. As long as the kids are happy in the clubs we should be able to stick to those plans!

I have a question :) ON formal night do the kids(namely the lil ones) really dress up?? Jaykob and Mikey have suits and Mikey is soo ready to wear his LOL Jaykob on the other hand(this is his wish BTW from Make a wish :) He has had 3 open heart surgeries and his scar can be bother some by shirts like his button downs KWIM :( He loves to dress up but I know he would never keep a tie on KWIM. Does he really have to wear one or is ok for just his jacket KWIM. The girls all 3 of them(well plus mommy nana meme) cant wait to dress up LOL. Something we dont get to do much. Is a simple black dress ok for my preteens?? Do you think it would be ok for my youngest daughter to wear her bell dress that mommy made?? :lovestruc
Griffin33
10-13-2005, 12:04 PM
If the kids want to dress up and are comfortable in dressy clothing, great. If you son doesn't want to wear a button down shirt or tie, it doesn't matter one little bit IMHO.
There is a great deal of latitude in what the grownups wear on formal night and even more latitude for the kids! Last time, my son wore a nice golf shirt and khakis. He looked sharp and was comfy.
Your preteens will look great in black dresses.
My party will be the ones not wearing tuxedos, not wearing formal ball gowns, not wearing ties. We play dress up enough in the real world. We will wear nice, comfortable clothing and will have a great time.
The exception, of course, is Palo night....I'll wear a sport coat but no tie.
lilofan
10-13-2005, 12:52 PM
We are celebrating an anniversary so we will dress up big time on one formal night but go more casual on the other. As others have said, there is a great deal of latitude and the most important thing to wear is a smile.

You can count me and my daughter in. We are making this our 2nd cruise and celebrating her 21st birthday. Her birthday is actually 12/26 and she informs me that she is going to celebrating it everyday until we get back. We both can't wait. We are going to WDW 5 days before to enjoy the parks. I am even using my air miles to get there from CA and flying 1st class all the way for $20 can't bet that.
:Pinkbounc this is how we are feeling. We are getting all our clothing ready. Last time we didn't know about the theme nights, bet we are going to be ready this time. I know some don't like to dress up but we are going all the way. 1 formal night, 1 semi-formal, 1 pirates pirate: night, and some cools stuff for the adults only lounge 60' 70' and 80's themes. Hey for the adults going it really is great at Rock'n Bar D you gotta just go and do things that you might not do at home. My daughter a music major in college is going to sign up for the guest talent show and she is really excited about that. Last cruise we didn't go, but heard it was a riot. Some really good and some not so good.
We can't wait to see Castaway Cay, last time the current was going the wrong direction and we couldn't pull into port, the Capt'n tried 3 times, we were disappointed, but still had a great time on the ship.
I enjoy reading about everyone elses adventures and expectations, keep writing now that it is getting so close. :hourglass

Question to some of you veteran cruisers, if we book Palo on the last night (Friday) will we miss anything special or is that a good night to go? ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo
Griffin33
10-16-2005, 06:52 PM
Lilofan -
The general feeling from people is that Friday is not a good night for Palo reservations for a number of reasons. First, you will have just had an exhausting, sandy day on Castaway Cay and may not want to dress your best. Secondly, you may need some extra time packing and getting your suitcases out so you may not want to have a late night. And third, you will not see your servers on the last night when they usually do something special for the kids and also traditionally are thanked and given their gratuities.
That being said, if the only night you can do it is Friday, then by all means, you should do it anyway!

Hi all,
We enjoy dressing up for the formal and semi formal nights, but we don't go crazy. Just something long and pretty. But then being 2 'mature' ladies what else have we got to do?
I missed pirates night on our last cruise because I was confined to the room due to a stomach virus. i am looking forward to it this time around.
I was just reading in my Pasporter that the most misses of docking at CC are in January & February :worried: I am telling myself not to worry. If we made it last time (we the first ones back to CC after Hurricane Frances) then we will make it this time. :goodvibes
Hmm I forgot we could make our Palo ressies already. I have no clue what night we want to go. I better get planning!

Hi NancyDVC, I hope for goovibes also as last year Feb 5-12 my daughter and I made the same cruise and we didn't get to go into to CC port, we were disappointed as we were mostly excited about laying out on the beach and really enjoying the ocean we really didn't do that at the other two ports, but it didn't happen. Also we saved all our gadget and small gift spending money for CC so our friends all got the same souvenirs from the ships limited shopping. Soooooo I hope we make it.
FYI I booked at Palo's on Sunday night at 8pm is seemed to be the most open night to us. Based on Last Years events schedule.
Hope to maybe meet you on the crusie. TTYL

Mommy2abunch---I'm not sure how old your little ones are but by the second night on our first cruise we found that it just wasn't worth getting the kids dressed for dinner each night and having them sit for a formal dinner (especially since they would only eat chicken nuggets or hot dogs). We started checking them into the kid's club before we went to dinner. They ate there (if you had them there by a certain time) and had a great time while the grown-ups enjoyed a nice dinner without the whine! We felt like geniuses after we started doing this!

Hello to everyone. Glad to see this thread has had some action lately. I started it a while ago, but then was worried that I was going to have to cancel the cruise. My doctors thought I had thyroid cancer. I just had it removed a week ago (of course right when my final payment was due). I received the biopsy reports and it was benign -- no cancer! First thing I did after calling family members was book our air arrangements for January. Finally, the trip feels real and I can't wait.
lilofan - In regards to your question about dining the last night at Palo, it can be nice. We've done it twice. It just takes some planning. Tip your waiters on Thursday night. That's not really a big deal. Packing isn't that bad because you're just loading up dirty clothes into a bag. Dinner at Palo ends the cruise on a real high note.

We took this same tour in Feb 2005, this is what the schedule was then.
Sat - Set sail
Sun - Day at Sea
Mon - Day at Sea - Golden Mickey - Formal Night
Tue - Day at St. Marteen - Priates Night. We bought islandware for the evening event, because we didn't know about the theme nights.
Wed - St. Thomas
Thur - Day at Sea - Semi Formal Night
Fri- Was suppose to be CC day, but we had a day at Sea
Sat - Arrive back in port
We were a party of 2 adults my DD and I, at a table of 8, all were couples except us and our rotation was LAP late seating. I have heard late seating adults groups have been getting this rotation. Do not if it is just coincidental or not.

I wanted to thank all of the people who posted at this forum. It mad planning our first cruise very easy. We especially appreciated the advice on Palo (late night Sunday for us). The on-line booking feature will definitely cut down on stress the first day.
Does anyone have information on the St. John Island tour? We are planning on doing this as a family with our four year old daughter and are worried about the length and whether this would be fun for her.
Also, I've noticed that people have mentioned that there are wine tastings, beer tastings, martini tastings, and even tequilla tastings. I don't suppose there are any Bourbon tastings?
Again, thanks and we look forward to meeting all of you.

I don't suppose there are any Bourbon tastings?
Hi WiscBill!
Happy to have you with us. The Bourbon tastings are scheduled exactly at the times you want them to be scheduled. It goes like this:
1. Go to any bar on the ship.
2. Order any number of bourbons you want.
3. Taste them.
I will be the guy next to you having my own scotch tasting. :wave2:

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that you have to have a passport now to get off and on at the islands. This new law starts Jan 1, 2006. It usually takes about 6 weeks to process a new passport and we are at 8 1/2 weeks out now. We had our pictures all taken today at the Super Target. We all look like criminals! Not smiling for pictures is my kids favorite pastime! Better luck to ya'll on your photos!

Hi All,
We are all getting very excited! Two months can speed by so quickly, and I appreciate having great posts like all of yours to read whenever I need a little "teaser" for the cruise!
I have a question about Sanibel Island. I want to take my DD 10 and DS 4 to Sanibel since I have heard it is a great shelling beach. Has anyone been there and do you have any tips/advice? Would you recommend going before the cruise or driving all the way over to the gulf coast after debarkation--we don't fly out until Sunday evening after the cruise and will be at WDW for a few days prior, as well. Would the weather be hit or miss at this time of the year?
Also, To MyLove4Disney--I noticed we're nearly neighbors! I'm across the causeway in Sacramento and used to work in Davis.
Thanks everyone! Looking forward to January!

Thank you for this update. I didn't realize, thought we only needed birthcertifs until end of 2006. Question on this, did you have to have your pictures the day you applied or does that happen later. How did you go about it. I know there is a special form and you can apply to places on line that will do fast turn around, but wasn't sure how they get the photos and the birthcertifs. Can you tell me what you did. Thanks a bunch. Now I am a little worried.

Some post office branches will take the pictures and process the passport applications all at the same time. Usually, you need to make an appointment (at least around here we did.)

I am so sorry to worry everyone!! My travel agent called me today and said that they have moved the date back on that to any bookings after December 28, 2006. So passports will not be necessary this time, birth certificates will still be fine. I feel terrible because my parents just turned in their paperwork the day before yesterday and paid almost $200 for them. It seems that even in the passport office they thought the Jan 2006 date would be in effect., but my dh and I looked it up tonight online to double check and we will not need them! So sorry for the confusion!!!! (I'm glad I can throw away those horrible pictures though!)

I got this press release from the following web page on the US Department of State.
http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2626.html
So it looks like they have postphoned it a year.
Press Release: Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative Formally Sumbitted for Public Comment
Initiative Designed to Expedite Travel in the Western Hemisphere While Enhancing Security
Washington, D.C. – The Departments of Homeland Security and State formally submitted the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative proposal for public comment. The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative will require all U.S. citizens, citizens of the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda, and citizens of Canada and Mexico to have a passport or other accepted secure document that establishes the bearer’s identity and nationality to enter or re-enter the United States by January 1, 2008.
The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 mandated that the Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Secretary of State, develop and implement a plan to require U.S. citizens and foreign nationals to present a passport, or other secure document when entering the United States.
In the proposed implementation plan, the Initiative will be rolled out in phases, providing as much advance notice as possible to the affected public to enable them to meet the terms of the new guidelines. The proposed timeline will be as follows:
December 31, 2006 – Requirement applied to all air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.
December 31, 2007 – Requirement extended to all land border crossings as well as air and sea travel.
In April 2005, the Departments of State (State) and Homeland Security (DHS) announced a proposed plan to be implemented in three phases beginning on December 31, 2005 for the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. After further review and considering the delay in publishing the public notice in the Federal Register, State and DHS recognized that implementing the December 31, 2005, phase would be problematic for travelers. This new timeline will simplify the implementation and provide a longer lead-time for travelers to come into compliance with the requirements.
As previously noted, the passport will be the document of choice for travel within the Western Hemisphere or re-entry. However, another document that we anticipate will be acceptable under the travel initiative is the Border Crossing Card, (BCC – or “laser visa”). Currently, the BCC serves in lieu of a passport and a visa for citizens of Mexico traveling to the U.S. from contiguous territory. Other documents that we are considering for acceptance under this initiative are the Customs and Border Protection Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI), NEXUS and Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program cards.
No currently existing documents other than the BCC, SENTRI, NEXUS or FAST cards are under active consideration as substitutes for the passport. However, DHS and State are reviewing new technological developments regarding options for secure travel documents. Acceptable documents must establish the citizenship and identity of the bearer, and include significant security features. Ultimately, all documents used for travel to the U.S. are expected to include biometrics that can be used to authenticate the document and verify identity.
To provide vital information to the general public, the Departments of Homeland Security and State are issuing an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) on the plan to the public and requesting input and/or comment on the suggested documents and possible alternative documents that can meet the statutory requirements. A more formal rulemaking will be issued later this year following review of those comments to implement the first phase of the initiative. This rulemaking will take into account comments received from the ANPRM as well as soliciting further comments on the rulemaking itself.
Those wishing to comment on the proposal may access the Federal e-Rulemaking Portal at http://www.regulations.gov and follow the instructions for submitting comments.
For more information, visit www.dhs.gov or www.travel.state.gov.

Last time we met other dis board families on the top deck during the cast off party. All our kids were blowing bubble so we could tell who we were. My kids thought the music at the party area was too loud, so it was really nice to be up on the deck by the basketball court and wave goodbye to all the people on shore. Anyone up for bubbles during cast off? ::MinnieMo

Wow they had a party in the Roy Disney Suite, that would be sweet. :rolleyes1 If I had the suite or the Walt Suite with the Piano, I sure would have a party, but alas we are in a cat 12 gty, In hopes of an upgrade to at least a 10...
So if anyone is in the Roy or Walt Suites. I would love to at least see them, may be you wouldn't mind giving a tour some afternoon on a sea day.
So anyways groups maybe bubble, tshirt colors or some type of special cruise logo signs. Lets make this a great trip for having fun and meeting great new Disney Fans friends.

Welcome Flippin4Mickey
I'm glad you and your family will joining this cruise. I think it will be a wonderful time. My DD and I cruised 1st week of Feb in 2005 and it was cold in WDW and windy, mind you I came from No. CA it was beautiful, but as we left the states it became very beautiful in fact at the islands it was almost hot, we got sweaty just walking around. So if you are going early for WDW like my DD and I are pack some warmer things or at least a pair of pants and a thick sweat shirt.
Hope to meet you on the cruise. TTYL

For the repo cruise we were in stateroom #5627. The only problem we had was it was be a crew area and it was noisy on the first day and the last night-really late on the last night! We have also stayed port side and never had a problem!

My daughter is very social and happy as long as there is something interesting going on; however, I do have fear that she will hate the club and there will be no reading quietly in a deck chair or relaxing dinners without child. Heaven forbid!

Hello all! (sorry I copied and pasted this from other thread!)
As many of my August Repo cruise mates know, I am a restaraunt manager for Taco Bell. My building just recieved an awesome remodel and reopened last July. Well during my shift Thursday the restaraunt caught fire! I had to evacuate the building , went back in and tried to contain the fire but it was too far gone! The building was a complete loss! This has been a complete roller coaster for me! All of my employess are being taken care of at other locations and we will rebuild.

Dan, I sure hope you and everyone was all right and there were no injuries and only building damage. And yes you can rebuild. It looks like it was a bad weather that day as well. Try not to worry to much. Look for what caused the problem and incorroprate enhanced safegards for the future. This will be a tough few weeks for you, you will be stronger for what you learned by this event. Even though you remodeled, there most likely have been improvements that can be added this time and I am sure fire retardent systems will be one on them.
Any way Dan, cheer up you are leaving in a few weeks for a wonderful adventure that won't include worries of the world, just sheer pleasure and pampering by Disney. Don't miss the cruise, the issues of business will be there when you return. You will need this cruise more now than ever.
Here are happy thoughts for you :wave2:

Count us in!! Myself, my husband. 9 yr old daughter (who will celebrate her 10th B-day on the ship 1/11), and my parents. I paid for my daughter's best friend to come too. So they can celebrate her B-day all week. Her best friends aunt and uncle are also cruising with us. This way if they have a meltdown half way through the cruise, they can go to seperate cabins and cool off!!!
BUT most important......
We got our cruise docs today!!!!
Be on the lookout for yours!! Only 23 more days to go!!!

I'm going on this cruise with my parents, 2 sisters, 12 and 6, our neighbor's (Mom and Dad, Son 8 and Daughter 12) and my best friend (Both 15 year old girls). This is my families 2nd eastern disney cruise, and we've been on the western also (all seven days). It's everyone else's first time. Are there any other teenagers comming!!??
:cheer2: I'm a cheerleader. . :bored: best friend is a super athlete!

I'll add my welcome to Merlin 1 also. My DD will turn 4 in February and is very excited about the club. I hope they still have the story time with Snow White since she is a big favorite. (Not as big as Princess Aurora, who I understand is normally not on the cruise). Have you decided on shore excursions yet?
On my two past cruises, I've gotten Aurora's autograph both times, and even a picture (She had on her blue dress instead of pink, so it was a little confusing for my little sister). Although, these cruises were 2 and 4 years ago, so things may have changed.

Thanks Princess LeKeisha, we'll keep our eyes open for Princess Aurora in the blue dress. I hope you meet up with some other teens. We'd love to get a report on the new teen areas that were put in after the last drydock.
My niece also was a cheerleader in high school and I don't know where she ever found the time to do it all. I hope you're not missing too many games during the cruise.

I guess we don't really need any, I have read that we can just use the one that they give you online. But it would be nice to get official documents. Oh well not to worry, I have a confirmation number and my receipt for full payments.
Hey did anyone pay in full at time of booking, then look online and still see a small amount of say $1.75 due. I saw that on my resis, then paid that by credit card online and then saw my cc statement and that was reversed and also got another a small refund later without any documentation, I mean small like 60 bucks. Just wondering? I guess I shouldn't complain, but I want to be truly all paid before we go, no worries you know.

On St. Maarten, DH and I would like to go to the beach for while. If we booked a beach excursion, are we stranded on the beach until the pick-up at the end of the day? Also, has anyone ever just found a driver at the port and been taken around instead of paying for an excursion?

We're doing the doc dance! :dancer:
Just got them today -- new packaging since our last cruise. It came in a normal overnight envelope instead of the box I remember. Instead of having an individual booklet for each person, it's all combined into one. I'm sure it saves DCL $$$, but I like it because it will save me a little packing space.
There are new luggage tags, too. They look more like the kind you get on airlines. I used to worry that the old ones would fall off.
Hope you all get your docs soon and join me in the dance! :cool1:

It hasn't sunk in for me yet that our trip is only a couple of weeks away. Maybe if our docs show up it will feel a little more real.
WiscBill, I see you've expanded the tasting to be the martini/bourbon/scotch/margarita tasting....nice!! Are you paying attention DCL? We've got a great idea for you!
I think it's time for us to make a concrete plan for getting together. I am thinking the earlier in the cruise the better since it's fun bumping into people you "know" later on.

Yahoo, we finally got both sets of docs today. It is very rainy here today, so the docs are kinda of moist, but that is ok. We can't wait, we are under 3 weeks now. We are staring the packing ritual because we are spending 5 night at WDW first. I've been pulling things out of the summer closet and the winter, well you know winter here is pretty mild so. We are packing warmer clothing for Florida, long pants and heavy sweat shirt. They take up so much room. Then the fancy duds and the summer stuff. Oh my to have to plan oh what fun :rotfl: I am such an over planner. Anyone else like me out there? I just don't want to take to much stuff or not enough stuff. What a worry-wart I am :goodvibes

Our documents arrived late last night (around 10 PM via UPS). I loved reading the legalese which basically comes down to the fact that DCL doesn't have much responsibility for anything except having a boat we can board sometime between January 7 and January 15.
As Griffin33 has noted, I have been steadily expanding the requests to DCL for various tastings. I would like to know if our Tennessee travelers would like a request added for the fine whiskies from their state also.
DW is excited about the other Christmas b-day folk. I believe she may suggest a special birthday girl's night out. :teacher:

I hope everyone is doing well, we have less than two weeks to go. I guess everyone has been very busy with the holidays and getting packed.
My daughter has been on lately talking about here celebrating her 21st on ship, but today is her official. She is out beggining the party night with her friends. Worried mother at home.
Anyway. I am excited about the cruise, we leave for WDW 7 days from today and will enjoy time at the parks first.
We are using Disney transportation for the first time and I do know we will not be leaving for the port until noon on Saturday so we will end up be in the later arrival group, but was wondering if anyone from the group wanted to meet up on deck ten on the port (left) side of the ship during the sail away party and get to know each other. If so my daughter and I will be wareing match jean shirts with our trip logo on the back. See picture below.
If anyone is up for it please reply, we are excited to meet new disney fans like us.

I will be looking for mylove4disney on deck 10 at the sailaway party and hope we can connect with many of you. I hope all of you have a wonderful week and we'll see you soon!

Hi all!
This is the first chance I have had to get back here, Still no working computer at home (Christmas presents etc. had to come first.) I can't believe that this time next week only 168 hours from now we'll be in the terminal getting ready to board!!!!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2:
Has anyone decided on a DIS meet? Time? Place? We will try to have nametags in DIS green. If I can get my DBF (Disney Best Friend) to wear one. :cool1:
We plan to be on the top deck for the sailaway party. :thewave: (slightly less noise) It will be odd sailing away in the dark. Right now sunset here in NY is about 4:30 so I'm not sure if it is much later there.
We haven't made any ressies yet. What with so much to do at work and no 'puter at home I haven't been online much.
We finally got our docs last week, right before Christmas. We are on deck 6, starboard (right side).
We fly out on Friday. Plan to have lunch with friends at Olivia's at OKW and then drive to the Radisson. We stayed there before our last cruise in September, 2004 and liked it.They had just reopened after Hurricane Frances. The area was pretty much in disarray. And there were FEMA folks staying there too. We were on the Magic Western that had to change to a different Eastern because of Hurricane Ivan. Then changed again due to Tropical Strom Jeanne. Now I heard that Tropical Storm Zaida (not sure of the spelling) has formed in the Eastern Atlantic. Just my luck. My DBF kept saying all year "we are cruising in January so we don't have to worry about Hurricanes etc."
Is anyone else at the Radisson on Friday? TTFN :thewave: Until we sailaway!

We are packing too! We're leaving on Wednesday to do two days at WDW before the cruise. We'll be staying at the Radisson on Friday night with my parents and we're all on the 9:00 shuttle over to the port on Saturday! We've had a little unexpected "fun" with Independence Air! Hopefully no one else is planning to fly with them since they're going out of business on Thursday! Luckily we'll be on one of the last flights on Wednesday, but we had to book new returning flights with another airline. Don't forget the sunscreen!
See ya'll soon!

Bad news: just checked the weather channel and it doesn't look like amazing weather for our trip. Hopefully, things will change as we get closer.
It's supposed to be clear, but cool on Saturday for the sail away party-- high 58 degrees. 60% chance of rain in St. Marteen and St. Thomas, highs in the low 80's.
Now I really have to think about what to pack!

Anyone cruised before when it was raining? Is it usually a light rain or should I prepare for a big ole storm?? a little nervous about that
Ok and one more ? - are you guys bringing shorts and tank tops ..or is that packing too summery for this time of year. I know it should be warm in the virgin islands ..but wondering about the rest of the days??

I much prefer the Accuweather forecast:
St. Thomas--January 11
Humid with clouds and sunshine. Winds from the ENE at 11 mph. High: 82° F RealFeel: 85° F
Couldn't find my book mark for the island closest to CC, but Nassau is predicted to be 27 C (81 F) sunshine for January 13.
My travel experience has been that the Weather channel is very conservative in their forecasts that are more than 48 hours out.
Family is bringing shorts for the days and Polartec for the nights. :teacher:

My DW and I will be "dressed" pirate for the Pirate Night. But then we
will also go full out formal on formal night as it is our anniversary cruise
I agree with WiscBill on the weather. The weather channel had this
week pouring rain every day in its 10 day forcast for Orlando. Now
the forcast is for light rain this morning and no other rain the rest of
the week. If it rains its still going to be in the 80's.

I vote for WiscBill's (WeathermanBill?) forecast! Do we get to vote?

The forecast for Orlando Friday and Saturday looks a bit chilly, I guess we won't be leaving the winter coats in St. Louis. I am praying for a heat wave! We are staying at the Raddisson Fri. night too! We need an official organizer to get us all together.

I like the Accuweather forecast better, too! I'll stick with that one and think positive thoughts!

merlin1 - Where are you from in STL? I grew up there and went to Viz (Visitation). All my family lives there and I love to go home and visit. I still miss Imo's and Lion's Choice (My DS says STL has the BEST food)!

hmm St. Louis. .haveta say I'm in love with Ted Drews ice cream. .haha it's really yummy!
The cruise is in 4 days! or three. .however you wanna look at it and my friend Sierra (Keisha's Friend) is comming to my house right now!!!
I'm packing shorts, skirts, and tank tops. .but also some jackets and capris in case of it being chilly. . but our past cruises at this time have been in the 70s and 80s
All of the kids and teens in our group are dressing up in full pirate attire. . but I'm not sure about the parents. . they may just wear black white and red. If your still looking for ideas. .gancho capris or pants work perfectly. . and you can use them later because they're in style now!

Budwmm I work about 100 yards from a Lions Choice. I guess I forgot that they are not everywhere. In the many years that I lived away from St. Louis I missed Steak and Shake and Imos the most. I grew up in Clayton but live in Kirkwood.
It is not terribly cold but very gray and has been gray for a very long time. I am ready for some sun!!!!!

Weather at WDW
Monday we arrived to warm and some humidity at 7:30 pm but was very mild
Tuesday at the parks just right Warm with a breeze keep you cool in the direct sun, but not cold in the shade. Tuesday evening we were cold only had long sleeve tshirt and a jean jacket could have used a heavier coat.
Today Wednesday we wore Tank tops and shorts was beautiful not a cloud in the sky. Around 5 it was getting very cool, now 8pm it is cold out side well relatively. We would be waring jeans and heavy sweat shirt if we were to go out.
Just thought you would like to know. Can't wait to meet all of you.
If any one would like to meet we will be at the sail a way part on deck 10 looking down on the party on the Port side. I know one group has already said they would be looking for us. We hope to meet others. Sorry won't be wearing DIS green, but will be wearing our own custom jean shirts.
Can't wait to see all of you on Saturday. We will have a great time no matter the weather
PS I would bring a warm sweatshirt and some long pants at least for the sail a way party, based on the way things are here right now.
Hugs all :sunny:

Having a bit of colder weather today and Saturday. High is going to be 60 today. This week it has been almost 80 here. For some of you 60 will be a heat weave, for other is it going to be cool. It all depends on where you are coming from. The floridians are freezing :) We are dressing a bit warmer, but not big heavy coats. Sweat Shirts, long sleeves and long pants no swimming, well I guess you could the pools are heated, getting out might be a different story. Local weather is preparing everyone as it is to get down to just about freezing at night. today high is 60 low it 34. Not much in the way of humidity.
Thought you would like to know. See you all Saturday. Happy travels. :earsgirl: princess:

Hope everyone had a great time and had safe trips home. Sorry we didn't get to meet most of you as we missed the sailaway get together and then didn't know what anyone looked like to meet them later on. I did get the chance to meet WiscBill and his wife, however, since he knew which room I was in and sent a note (and some scotch!!). We had a great private scotch tasting in the suite....thanks again Bill!

Hope everyone had a wonderful time! We were at WDW a week before the cruise so I didn't get a chance to find out if there was any kind of meet. besides the first few days being chilly and the rough seas the one day we had the best time and can't wait to go back!! :goodvibes Castaway cay was the best! I was happy with a conch kooler and a hammock, made my day!
