I stopped by my local Disney Store to pick up some Disney Dollars for my family as Christmas gifts. I was suprised to learn that they were out of Disney Dollars and weren't getting any in for a few months. The sales clerk said they were changing the design of the dollars. I was also told the Disney Store was now owned by the company who owns The Childrens Place. Anyone have any info on this?

Yes, it has been a couple of months now I think.

Here is a link (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=666467) to one of the threads on this board discussing the topic.

It's actually encouraging that they think they'll be getting Disney Dollars back in... One of the debates we've been having is whether or not they'd continue to carry them with the new ownership.

We've got plenty of Disney Dollars to go around and have recently received our recent orders. Changes to design prints does not slow delivery of them, they'll continue to send out the old design till new one is available. The one's we've been receiving are a new design.

I honestly think you were misinformed.

Childrens Place- Hoop Retail does now Own the Disney Stores

We will still be carrying Disney Dollars, Gift Cards and Park Passes!

The character featured is CHICKEN LITTLE, and the back has what looks like a school house. Rather than say anything negative, ..... You'll all just have to see it for yourselves. Let's just say, I won't be giving any of the ones for gifts this year.

Hey Amor...the Chicken Little Disney $$ is a limited edition print for the movie release. It is not a 2005 full year issue. The new Disney $ will highlight Disneyland's 50th. :)

I just asked our DS about the Disney Dollars, from what I had read on here. They said they will continue to carry them, since they are kind of a "special" store (...sell so much $$$). That made me happy - also just to know the store should stay put there for a while :D They only had $5's in now, but said they would be getting more in soon.

Disney Dollars were flying out of DTD Guest Relations like hotcakes the 1st week of December. Most CM's didn't have any left a couple of hours into their shifts!

As for the Chicken Little $1 bill... it is a very limited edition, so regardless of what you think about it, it will be a rare commodity.

The new Disney Dollars for 2005 will be to commemorate the 50th Aniversary of Disneyland and should be out by May.:)

Well we've still got plenty to go around. Trust me we sell these like hotcakes as well. Maybe it had to do with the amount they ordered because we've got them backstocked and ready to go.
