Start of a new life so I decided to start a journal. Maybe help keep me motivated.
Here I go again, hopefully for the last time. :flower:
Starting out at 277 lbs. I have decided to just start new with new start weight and all. :) I'm down about 11 lbs from the highest weight I've been since giving birth to Zoe. I'd like to see myself getting back to pre-preggo weight of 250 by March 1st.
So tired of the extra weight and not being able to fit in my clothes. :guilty:
Eating today is going pretty well. I missed breakfast I had my vitamins though. For lunch had leftover risotto with bacon and an apple and OJ to drink. :) For dinner probably will have something out or ordered in because pantry and fridge is empty and we gotta get some groceries. Unless we go to grocery store and get something to cook which is possible.

Did alright with dinner tonight. Opted for more sweet potatoes than white. And went easy but did have a piece of cake. Thankfully holidays will be over after this weekend. :) I will write out and PLAN my exercise for next week. I'm starting to believe that scheduling it in will help me get it done. :) :flower:

Thanks for the support. :) Yes Zoe "IS" one of my biggest reasons to get healthy. :)
I bid and won on a Tae Bo dvd set. :Pinkbounc I'm so motivated(atleast today) to get the exercise stuff to become habit. :) I mapped out the next weeks of exercise routines. ;) Now I just have to keep these "appointments" with myself and my exercise dvd(WATP)
Also tomorrow I will write down all my food and figure my WW points. :)

Congrats on the TaeBo bid! TaeBo is quite challenging, just do what you can at first and keep trying. Really pay attention to the instructional DVD, I hurt my shoulder by not being careful with the form as he teaches. Have Fun!!!!!

Hi Melissa...
Glad to see you've started your journal. It really helps out to write everything down. Are you following a certain diet or just doing your own thing? It helps to stock up your pantry with good things to eat, especially snacks. There are plenty of ideas on this website, so you should find plenty of help.
Good luck with your March 1st goal!!

Melissa- On the first page of Sundie's journal she has a modified journal for tracking her food and exercise. Maybe you could get a copy of that and use it until you can afford WW online. It REALLY helps to write down EVERYTHING you eat - even the little bites. You'd be surprised how many points it is for a small fry at McDs :earseek: !! And journaling your exercise can also be very motivating!
Keep at it Melissa! I KNOW you can do this. Make sure to come to your journal often - we are always happy to kick your butt if need be!! :earboy2: And we've been know to host some really good scale bashing parties too!! :badpc:
Have a great day!!

Hi There,
I just had a thought. My DD LOVED the minitrampoline. I would let her bounce on that while I exercised. It was the only time she could use it, so she would bounce for 30 minutes without stopping. It also kept her contained. They are about $30. Thought it might help.

Yesterday was a pretty decent day.
I had half a banana and cinnamon Life cereal w/ 2% milk did not drink milk though
Had a snack of 2 oreos
Lunch was 2 pbj sandwiches Ate one and then the other a couple hours later
Had 2 more oreos(they are gone so that is good :rotfl: ) and glass of chocolate soy milk. Yumm
Dinner dh cooked me spaghetti :)
Then the best part is I spend 90 minutes at gym did 45 minutes cardio on bike and 45 minutes weight lifting arms & legs. I also did some machines oblique ab. And 25 crunches on exercise stability ball before stretching out some. :)
Achey sore arms tell me I did something right. :cheer2: :Pinkbounc
Today so far I haven't had anything was about to go make Life cereal again. :) But out of bananas and store was out when I was there 2 evenings ago I dunno why not like 49 cents a lb was really good. They often are 4 lbs for $1 now that is a sale. :) Oh well think I'm gonna hit the farmers market this evening for some veggies and fruit.
For lunch I'm gonna fix salad and I think tuna salad sandwich. :)
Dinner I'm undecided i think I'll fix pork steaks baked potato and green beans. Unless i shread it and make pork tacos. I think I'll pick up beef for tacos tonight though and just have steaks like they are and the others. :)
Hitting the gym again tonight too. 60 minutes of cardio on bike(might finish the last 15 on treadmill though) gonna rest the ol' arm muscles today. :teeth:

Life Cereal for breakfast w/ 2% milk that I did drink today.
glass of Orange tangerine juice
Lunch I'm having a tuna salad(made with ff mayo) sandwich with cheese one wheat bread.
half a cucumber peeled and sliced and about a cup of carrots dipped in fat free catalina dressing(out of ranch)
Also working on finishing my first 18 oz bottle of water.

Yesterday was a okay day lunch wasn't the best but it was small portions of what I did have. :)
I had Life Cereal for breakfast w/ 2% milk and orange tangerine juice.
Lunch was leftover from mexican reastraunt a beef enchilda and some spanish rice and black beans with salsa added. A few tortilla chips.
Dinner was 4 oz pork steak, small baked potato with margarine(should have done salsa forgot I had it or I'd have used it) green beans and also had sliced cucumbers and baby carrots.
WEnt to the gym for 2 hours did 45 minutes on bike 15 on treadmill and 60 minutes lifting. It feels good and I'm surprised I'm not too sore today. :) Could get used to this. :)

I had toast for breakfast. Didn't feel like cooking eggs.
I'm gonna make scrambled eggs w/ cheese for lunch but I'll likely have more toast. :( Too many carbs.
Don't know what to make for dinner but I think I'm gonna make shreaded pork tacos. Which means I should get the meat out. Blah. I'll have a salad with mine. I dunno really but I need to start working on it so that we can eat and relax for a bit and go to the gym. Dh gets home a little after 6pm and daycare at gym closes at 8:30 so we will likely go from 7-8:30. So probably will have to cut back cardio to 30-45 instead of 45-60 minutes so that I can get in the lifting too. I know muscles help burn more fat and I need all the fat burning I can get. LOL
:cheer2: to getting addicted to exercise. I will be sad to have my trial membership end next month. DH an I discussed getting a membership at one that has personal trainers at no additional cost but the that would be impossible on our budget. :( I will have to start incorparating my WATP back in so that I can just contine with that and my free weights until we can afford another gym membership.

I missed my exercise on Friday. :( DH said we were gonna go then he twisted his ankle and didn't want to go. I could have went but I took long than expected to cook dinner that night. :(
We had appointment with our lawyer(well the paralegal anyway) on Saturday and although we had an appointment we ended up waiting nearly 2 hours. :confused3
We did go to the gym today but I concentrated more on lifting. I only did 20 minutes cardio but 45 minutes of weight lifting. :) Better than nothing right? :cool1:
Tomorrow I plan to do my WATP video and Tuesday will go to the gym for 45-60 minutes cardio and weight lifting which will take me 45-60 minutes as well.
I've set out my plan to make my 1000 minute goal for the month and with some hard work and now more missed workouts I can make it might go over a tad.
I'm so sad my membership will be ending soon. Might have to consider looking into the job in the daycare center there and see if I'd get free membership. :) Although we are considering getting a membership at another that a couple of dh's work buddies go to so he'd have company.

Was messing awhile back with virtual models.
Here is an example of what I "KINDA" am at now and where I'm heading to be.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v113/zoesmama03/Siggies/277-150goal.jpg
Its kinda a under estimate since I really do not have a space between my thighs. :rotfl2: And arms and hips are much flabbier. But for my general purpose of seeing and internalizing the difference my lifestyle will make helps in some odd way.

Melissa - sounds like you are doing very well with your exercise. Food looks pretty good too. How are you doing as far as results? Have you weighed yourself lately? Don't forget to take your measurements as well - sometimes you see more inches lost than pounds lost. ;)
The virtual models are nice - they give you a visual to shoot for. Sometimes the current isn't so nice, but I guess we all need to face ourselves (and what we truly look like.) Just keep looking at the 150 pound version of yourself everytime you want to eat off plan or not exercise. Print it out and stick inside a kitchen cabinet so you can look at it whenever you want/need to. I keep a picture of myself at a very heavy weight nearby so that I can remind myself not to get like that again! But I think I am going to print out my virtual model for what I want to be too!
keep up the great work. You are gonna look FABULOUS!!! :cheer2:

Went to gym last night. Got home late dh made corndogs. I ate 4 can't believe it. I was hungry though. Had not ate since 2pm and it was 9pm.
today doing okay but had toast for breakfast and I'm trying to cut out carbs. Blah. Lunch I had 2 corn dogs. Really gotta go shopping for more veggies and salad. Will have to read through some others' journals for more lunch ideas. When I did weight watchers I always had turkey sandwich with ff mayo and mustard and I'd have baby carrots and/or fresh brocooli I even had a actual full cal soda and ff pudding too. I never felt deprived while doing WW. But I watched those serving sizes. I need to start journaling food again but want to get this exercise part internalized so I can make it habit. I know I do well with exercise even not changing eating at all.
Going to gym tonight gonna do cardio and strength training. :) Will spend 2 hours there. :cheer2: :Pinkbounc I think I'll do 15-30 on treadmill then finish the hour out on the bike and then do my circuit training.
DH will be home any minute and we will decide what to have for dinner. Probalby chicken and pasta with tomato sauce or he will make his speciality carbanera(sp?)

Missed my gym yesterday. :( So I went today but gotta work even harder now to make my 1000 minute goal this month. I re scheduled the rest of the week. Gotta work around a change in the hubbys scedule he now has to work this weekend. :( So that means doing WATP Saturday and Sunday most likely. May take him to work Saturday and go to gym but will have to schedule my daughter into the nursery. Then I'd go visit my mom for awhile. :)
Worked my muscles alot today I can feel they will be sore in morning. My abs still are from Monday. When I did 50 crunches on the exercise ball at gym. I have one at home too. :) I love how the abs feel for days after.

Went to the gym tonight. Did 60 minute on exercise bike on the hill program. Then did ab machine and crunches on exercise ball. I couldn't do 50 this time I was getting too sore and fatigue by 15 so I did 2 sets of 15. So only got 30 crunches in.
Had a crazy eating day. I had Life cereal for breakfast since we are out of eggs. :( For lunch we had Banquet enchilada meal. For dinner had a chicken sandwich and was still hungry so had a bowl of fruit loops. :rotfl2:
Should have cooked veggies with it but DH made me think we were cooking ham 3 hours to have a late dinner and the sandwich was just snack to get us by until we ate. :rotfl: Last time I let him decide.

had a rough time there. Getting back on track with exercise this week. Did WATP while kids napped. Gonna head to gym for weight work or do my at home program that I will need to start soon anyway since my trial membership at gym is over on 12th. :(
Eating was bad this morning dh went and got McDonalds. Brought me 2 sausage egg chesse bagel sandwichs and a sausage mcmuffin. LOL I split the sausage McMuffin with my dd and ate one fo the bagel sandwiches. Ate the other later for early lunch. LOL I've been full all morning so the combo worked somehow.
We are having lasanga for dinner which reminds me I gotta start that up soon. Try and have it ready when dh gets home from work. :) I will have a salad and cucumbers with mine. Well scratch that dh called and said he'd prefer lasanga tomorrow when he can grind up the ham to make a more crumbled sausage texture or pick up some sausage. So I think we are having ham sandwiches or just ham and green beans and instant mashed potatoes. See how it changes so much. Some day I'd like to work us out menus for each week and make it easier. We could still switch them around though. LOL
We like being flexible with meals but problem is when we wanna be flexible we don't have all the things we need.
Oh and I weighed in was up 4 lbs from last monday how the heck that happens I dunno. We did eat out a few times and I didn't exercise but still thats alot and habits not much different than they had been. I'm dealing with TOM right now so may be some water retention too. :sad2:

Melissa -- Congratulations on seizing that time for yourself and using it so well! I bet you feel very smug! :)
Your lunch sounds like it was yummy and filling.
Keep up the great work!

For dinner I had about 1 1/2 cups of 15 bean soup with ham in it, MIL cooked it at her place. It was salty but very yummy!! MIL gave me a cupcake too. Not the best for the diet. I joked it was a diet muffin because she does Jenny Craig but has fallen off plan some with some craziness and changes in her lifestyle.
I had 2 blue bunny no sugar added ice cream bars though. :guilty: :sad2: Went over points 5 pts to be exact but better than some days I have journaled in last couple months. 4 of them the blue bunny ice cream bars. :sad2:

 I should not have stayed up till 2:30 am last night because I couldn't wake up early enough to get my workout in. :sad2: :( :sad1: So I will have to make it up when kiddos nap or will take them for an outdoor walk after they wake up or perhaps before they wake up will see. I Will make it up though gotta stay on schedule and keep the daily renewal of my goals. :flower:
Breakfast:
Frosted Shreaded wheats 3pts
skim milk 2 pts
1/2 a banana 1 pt
6pts
So far thats it for me. :) But doing pretty good. Hey I avoided the cake MIL sent home with us. Normally I don't hesitate to have cake for breakfast but it had no frosting so I passed. DH finished half(small square cake) of it lastnight and as of this morning has consumed 3/4 of it but I don't care I don't need it anyway. :sad2:

dip made with mayo/mustard/ketchup 1 pt(didn't use much)
Frozen baked french fires 2 pts(rounded up since I know I did not eat 15)

I did Tae Bo while kiddos napped. I eventually got dh peeled away from his game for awhile to do Tae Bo and I got to preview Pilates. I didn't try the moves yet I will try them tomorrow. :)

Dinner was
Crab alfredo w/ asparagus 12 pts
kool aid 2pts
bite of bork rib from Banquet meal 2pts??
Sliver of cake 2pts
Total for Dinner/snacks 18 pts
36.5 pts for day Over by 2.5 pts but earned 9 activity points if I count Tae Bo as heavy and I consider it very heavy exercise. I was sweating way more than with WATP and working way harder too. Its tough I will have to build up some endurance for it.

Melissa - you are doing awesome! Keep up the good work - you will have such wonderful results! :cool1:
Every time I want to eat something off plan, I think about what I want to look like eventually. Then I say "self, if you eat this______, you will not lose the weight that you so desparately want to lose!" Sometimes it works, sometimes not. But at least I stop and think now before I plop it in my mouth!
Onward and Downward Melissa! I hope you have a wonderful week!! :wizard:

Last week was great. Sunday was bad. And Monday was okay but I ate McDonalds and did not get my workout. :( Yesterday I was sooo sick (TMI WARNING) I had diaherra so I did not want to work out at all. Tummy is still upset today but doing better. I will try to do WATP later tonight since we were out late at MIL's last night I didn't get to sleep until after 2am. :earseek:
doing good today had toast for breakfast to help with tummy.
Lunch having a salad(working on it) and a little mac and cheese.
Dinner is ??? I dunno if we will be eating here or at MIL's

I've feeling so depressed. Just read the first page where I started this journal Dec 20th and realized I weigh more now than I did then. :confused3
I know I haven't done the best but its frustrtating that I've tried to become more active and even if I haven't been making the exercise challenges I'm doing aboug half the goal which is better than the ZERO minutes I'd do before. Just seems so frustrating that I'm trying and doing worse with weight. And I know its not because I'm losing in other areas or measurements as my pants are as tight as ever. :guilty:
My problem is I keep losing touch. I miss workouts and get sidetracked. Right now I'm having the added stress of financial issues(bankruptcy etc.) making it harder yet on me. I'm trying to use activity as stress buster but its hard going from lazy to exercise maniac.
I've been re-reading Making the Connection by Oprah's trainer(not the new one the old one) and I agree about his daily renewal deal. I think its important to renew that motivation and "reason" everyday.
I'm so frustrate today because I wanna get my workout in but the kiddos wouldn't nap. So I've got it darkened and Lion King on for them and I'm sure they will be out before its half through. :teeth: :rotfl: So hoping I can move them to bed and get my workout in. Otherwise I'm heading for a walk after dh gets home or might talk him into a walk with us after dinner. :rotfl2: haha that man doesn't like to move after work let alone walk.

Getting back on track in morning. Journaling and exercising. :) I was at my moms all day today and I drank some Mt. Dew which I don't drink at home but I switched to water so I'm proud of that but I was eating way too many jelly beans and chocolate eggs. :guilty:

Whoa. Been a little while since I posted in my journal.
I'm getting lab work because despite getting more exercise since I started this journal I have GAINED 7 lbs. SOMETHING wrong with this picture??? I did exercise quite a bit maybe not 5-6 days a week but usually 3 even if one is easier walk.
I hope the lab work shows something they can fix. The dr. thought maybe thryoid so she's having that checked. And I think glucose levels to look for diabetes/pre-diabetes and PCOS among other things Insilin Resistance and what not. Hopefully I can get on some treatment that will help me on the weight loss journey. I know there is NO "magic" pill but something that can help my body do its job because exercise should be helping at a min. maintaining weight and I'm actually GAINING so something has to be wrong. I lost weight easily before my dd was born with work but I did lose about 2 lbs a week while on WW 4 years ago. I did gain it back becuase my lifestyle slipped up. I started eating out more since I had no time to cook with a full time job and taking a full load of college classes. It was hard.
Anyway I certainly know the discouraged feeling. I feel like I'm doing all this work for nothing.

Well I had pancakes and 2 eggs for dinner last night.
Today so far just have had 3.5 slices of toast and a glass of tea. 6pts.
I did not exercise yet dd was up when the little one I watch got here and even though I got the little one to nap my dd was up so I didn't start it. I will try to get them to nap on schedule together today so that I can get a workout in. :) I have to stop eating by 9pm for fast for my blood work I have done in morning so gotta make sure I eat dinner on time. Blood work is at 7am so I gotta fast 8-16 hours. I'll stop by 7pm that will be a good 12 hours.
new water bottle was put on water cooler so I have nice cold fresh refreshing water to drink today. :) :cheer2:

Hang in there Melissa! :cool1: Keep drinking your water and watching your points. It has to happen sooner or later, right?
I hope the blood work does show something, because I know you are very frustrated. If it doesn't, please don't give up! :Pinkbounc Let it be a wakeup call to refocus and try even harder (NOT that you aren't!!!) You are doing way better than me with your exercise! :rolleyes1
I'm sending :wizard: that you see results one way or another this week.
Onward and DOWNWARD Melissa!!!!

I know what it feels like to start something and get sidetracked. I can be like that too. I also did WW a few years ago and lost 15 lbs, which I have kept off. I learned some importnat principles about food quantities and quality. It was shocking to see a DQ Blizzard (LOVE THEM) could pack on so many points so quickly! Also I learned I was eating too much. I don't need two sandwiches at lunch! Fat grams count ect. All that basic stuff we should know but I didn't.
I am on this path too. :flower: We can loose weight! I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition after DS8 was born, but although that helps to know and to have it properly medicated, it will not solve the weight issues. I have learned this 8 years later ! ;)
Find your time for you. I know this is hard with little ones, but we all need that!!! You are worth it! Have a good day.
