Hi,

National has lowered its rates on Campact Cars. I was able to lower my 10day ressie from $161 to $154. Not to bad considering at one point in time it was at $214.

Our compact rate went down also. The base rate before discounts is now just $98 and some change per week. We are renting for 15 days so even though I can get the DC discount, I cannot use any coupons because of a maximum rental limit. Total including all taxes is $238.77. We are not using EC because we don't want to pay the extra per week for a larger car that we don't really need and we are arriving at 10:30pm. There are no lines at the counter at that time.

My September full size rental went down to $207 for 11 days! That's with DC discount & coupon, including taxes/fees.

Thanks to all who post here about rate drops!

Tiffany - how did you get that rate and what are your dates. We are going June 2002 for 10 days and I desperately want a rate like yours.

ity....

just keep checking.....

you can book anytime ......when you feel the rate is good....and you can have multiple reservations.....so you can cancel higher ones after you get lower rates

but keep checking back for lower rates...

sometimes the rates even do down the week before you are going....

june 2002 is a ways out yet......so be patient and some thing good like these rates will probably come your way

Hi,

I just keep checking the web site. I am only entering the Disney Club coupon number that I have.

Tiffany, Shelly...
Your information is kinda useless without the dates of your rentals. We are going in mid-August and the rates have not gone down, in fact they are creeping up. When you are going makes all the difference on base rates. Congratulations on getting good rates, but you can frustrate some people who are not traveling the same times and are scrambling to get your rates.

I'm going Sept 8th - 23rd. The base rate was back up to $108 two days ago, but it fluctuates so often that I'm sure it will go back down.

Thanks a bunch for the info. I got on National and lowered my rate. I am going 9/22-10/3 and when I booked the car, I tried a few different codes and then the same codes, and the rate went back up again a few minutes later. For 11 nights my cost is $206.71 EI, full-size. When I entered the same codes I got a new rate of $221.66. Go figure, I reserved both for now and will call National about the reason why the difference. The rate I've had for a few months now was $241.48 and before that it was $260 something. Total savings about $54, yahoo. I used DC rate code and Buena Vista Internet code offer. Thank you again. Wendy aka jstmee

You are welcome. Rental car rates change often. I just went back into the National site and the rate has gone back up.
