We are taking AirTran to MCO for the first time on December 28th. I believe I read that they are supposed to have free satellite radio on every plane by the end of this year.

Anyone know if this service is available now, particularly those flying out of Philly?

Thanks

I flew them from/to Pittsburgh a couple weeks ago and there was no satellite radio, at least on the planes I was on.

Debbie,

I've never flown AirTran before but I see they have good rates. How did you like them?

They were great, both flights arrived early (the return was about 20 minutes early!).

They gave out 2 packages of pretzels and a full can of your drink. Alcoholic beverages are credit/debit card only, no cash.

Luggage delivery was fairly quick. At MCO there were a bunch of flights coming in at the same time, luckily a worker came by and hollered that Pittsburgh was moved to the next belt.

Their gate area is in a newer section of the airport at MCO, much nicer than the USAir concourse.

I paid $135 per ticket roundtrip on a special. A guy at the gate told me he only paid $105. Both flights were fairly full. I think people are wary of USAir plus the low prices.

and I'm curious about the radio also. BTW, we paid less than $46 each way/per person for a grand total for my DW and I of $233 R/T, including taxes and fees. I think it's probably cheaper than driving down and back from PA.

FYI,

For anyone interested, we just returned from WDW today.

The flight from PHL to MCO arrived about 20 minutes ahead of schedule and our return flight today was delayed leaving MCO and arriving in Philly. We were about 40 minutes late landing. All in all, we had a very good flying experience on AirTran and I would definitely recommend them.

As for the satellite radio, they didn't have it. Maybe in the future....

I just booked a PHL to MCO flight with them for February. By traveling midweek we were able to get a rate of $49 each way. For a family of 4(plus an infant) it came out to $450! :jumping4: :Pinkbounc :jumping4:
