I believe that I got in too. It said, it will send me a package in 6 -8 weeks. I am so excited. I tried last time too when someone posted it but didn't get in. I have never mystery shopped before either. What do they do? Do they give you a check for money to be spent there? Do they pay you for doing it? Thanks so much for posting. My kids will love it.
I got in, but I have a question...from what I read it says you go on the weekend and after you fill out the questionnaire they will send you a guest pass for your next visit. Is this correct?
TaurusSES_Sport

You have to wait 6-8 weeks to get your starter package.
Yes, but you pay for the visit when you are mystery shopping and then they send you a guest pass for another visit?

Yes , I read the same thing, you pay up front, then when you fill out all the info to them and I guess it has to be approved. Then they will send you a card.

Sorry for asking some a dumb question, but what is meant by a "free pass"? Chuck E Cheese is free to get in, so is there some sort of free food coupon that you get after you give them feedback on their food and service? Or is the free pass some sort of coupon for free tokens?
Thanks for clarifying for us dolts. :flower1:

we did this 2 or 3 times last summer and had a great time! Chuckie Cheese is a pizza place that has video games and small rides that you use tokens with. They have pizza and sandwiches and salads to eat. They have little video shows and lots of kids have birthday parties there.
How this works is you are sent a packet with little thank-you cards in it. You watch how things are run and if someone is doing a great job you give them a card and they turn the card in for a drawing. You order food and let your kids play some games. You pay for everything on your first trip, but you can use coupons and report cards so it doesn't break the bank. You take notes and keep you reciept and when you get home you fill out the questions on the website. A few weeks later you get a card in the mail that you turn in and you get a large pizza, 4 drinks and tokens for free. You don't have to use your free card at the same resturant you did your shop in. It is one of the easier mystery shops I have ever done.

It'a a kids pizza place and it has all kinds of video games and rides for kids. It's aimed at the 8 and under crowd. My kids are 10, but I think they would enjoy the video games and eating the pizza. They have a website you can go to:

You don't have to order a large pizza four drinks and all those tokens though, you can order whatever you want. Another poster said she orders a drink. We will probably just order a individual pizza and a drink. It's free to get in CEC, so what you want to spend once you get there is entirely up to you :)

Wouldn't be much of a deal for us if we had to buy a large pizza and sodas, etc. We mostly go for the games, but that's just us.
Am hoping we can just do the report card thing. For those of you not familiar with that, CEC gives your child a free token for each "A" on his/her report card (doesn't have to be A-B-C-D grading, ours grade on 1-2-3-4 scale) up to 15 tokens free. You have to order a food item, so last time we went, I had my two kids split an order of french fries, so for $2+, they got 30 tokens and french fries. :flower1:

I got my packet and it doesn't seem like any deal to me. First you've got to go "Mystery Shop" your local CEC. Then you log in online and do your report. Then they send you coupons for another CEC visit. I'm not even sure what kind of coupons because they are very vague. This sounds more like an advertsing ploy than it does a real "mystery shopper" program. It shouldn't cost the mystery shopper anything out of her pocket to give the company feedback on their service.

I got mine about 3 weeks ago. I agree that they are vague about the coupons you will receive. I take my son about once a month so I don't mind paying for the visit to do the visit mystery shop. I'd be going anyway. I did mine last weekend. I'll let you know what coupons I got. When I completed the survey they said coupon should arrive in 2 -3 weeks.

Actually you get a "VIP" pass upon completion which entitles you to get a large pizza, four drinks and 30 tokens.
Buy a drink if you don't want to spend any money. Admission is free to get in.
I got my packet a few weeks ago and we plan to go tomorrow with our refillable mugs and our $5 in free tokens when you buy $5 coupons. We'll probably buy an individual pizza and a sub and spend about $15 total. Great deal to me, since we go there anyway :)

Actually, every mystery shopping program I have ever done, you have to spend money first on purchasing something. otherwise you are not really shopping, you know? If you had some special coupon to use, they would know you were part of the program set up to see how they do and that totally defeats the purpose. You have to just seem like a normal customer as that is what the company wants to evaluate.

I am still waiting on mine to come too! This is the longest it has ever taken to get here. If you go to CEC anyway its not a bad deal. We usually go and get a couple of kids meals, I'll get salad bar and bring report cards and coupons for the buy $5 in tokens get $5 free. I figure you get 2 outings for around $20, so its not a bad deal. Other than the Logans Roadhouse shops I use to do (I'm too old now) I have never seen shops where they pay you first. Usually they will pay you for the cost of your meal after you do the shop.

Did my shop last night, used the coupon they sent me via email and spent 21.00 for a large pizza and drinks. The tokens were free with the coupon. I thought it was worth 20 dollars for three people, I did not feel the 'free' tokens were any bargain.
The shop itself was easy, you do not need names or descriptions, just report what could be improved on and which departments received citations.

I did not give out a red citation but I would have if I had only judged the cashiers. They were horrible as well as the person that brought the pizza. However we were sitting in an area where we could view the salad bar and were very impressed with the amout of hand washing that was going on and the care taken in using gloves and other procedures that would have made any health inspector proud. I am now and my husband has been in the food service business so we know what to look for.

Yes, it must have been. My son had his birthday party there just 2.5 months ago. LOL, I probably would've had to given them a red citation anyway. . there service there stunk! Most of the employees had bad attitudes, and there was no one at the door when I left with my kids!

It's frustrating when there is noone at the kid check. I had already passed out my blue citations to employees that were doing a wonderful job. then I went to leave and there wasn't anyone working the kid check. I was very disapointed. What is the point if they don't take it seriously.

This reminds me of a few years ago, we were headed to CEC for my daughters 2nd BDay and quickly changed course and stopped at Wal-mart to get a cake, while we were in Wally world, the CEC (which was being remodeled e) the ceiling collasped and a few parents were injured and a few children had ceiling tiles fall on them. The work crew removed a wall, well needless to say it was a load wall and it didn't handle the load. When we arrived there were two firetrucks, and a couple of ambulances, and they had closed the store. We were thankful no children or adults were killed and that we had changed course on a whim. Usually we whould have sat where the collapse would have happened , it was the tables with a view of the show and the play zone. the best of both worlds.
Never take anything for granted, they did fix the problem and we still go back, the manager there is great, I think he remembers us now. Maybe we will get in on the next mystery shopper go around!

I got my packet about 3-4 weeks ago. I gave out only 1 green citation to a worker who came and offered to refill our drinks, then came back and cleared our table. She was very grateful. I asked her what she gets for it, and she showed me the lanyard she got for giving excellent service, and she said she also gets a gift packet with free gas certificates and lots of other bonuses. I was happy for her because she really was the best worker in the whole place. I got my free trip to CEC gift card within a week of doing the survey.

Glad to hear you don't have to spend a bundle on your initial visit. I got my "kit" just a few weeks after signing up. We are on a VERY tight budget right now, but I wouldn't mind taking the kids for a quick visit during school vacation in a few weeks. (Although I completely agree with the person who called it a "germfest". We affectionately call it "Chuckie's Germ Factory"!!) We will bring our refillable cups, some left over tokens and tickets from previous visits, a coupon for tokens, as well as recent report cards. Maybe order a small pizza for the kids to share. Maybe we can get out of there for $15!! .....................P
